The Legend International Water Homes is a resort-style suite which offers unparalleled level of luxury and comfort, and every unit has its own private pool and well-landscaped garden. This is the Legend International Water Homes near Port Dickson town, where there´s every reason to stay indoors. The resort more than makes up for the lack of a beach with a private swimming pool in every one of its 249 luxurious villas, some built on stilts that extend right to the gleaming waters of the Straits Of Malacca.

The pool is set next to a little garden. A frog figurine spouts water into the blue-tiled pool. There´s also an open shower in the garden with the blue sky as your roof.

Take a peek over the wall on the side of the pool and you will see the wide expanse of the sea with waves rolling gently under the hot sun. Look through the glass panel on the floor of the bedroom and you see the sea right underneath.

On a fine day in this popular resort town in Negri Sembilan, the beaches are crowded, especially on weekends and public holidays.

Situated a little beyond the main stretch of beach in bustling Port Dickson (or PD as it is better known), The Legend International Water Homes in nearby Lukut makes a good escape. The resort, which opened last November, stands out in stark contrast to the old town, with its humble-looking shophouses and eateries and narrow, traffic-choked roads.

It´s the sister property of the well-established The Legend Water Chalets located just next door, separated only by a patch of sandy pitch where you can sweat it out in a game of beach volleyball.

At low tide, if you like, get dirty and do some crabbing on the murky "beach". But by the looks of the rather quiet outdoors (even the common outdoor swimming pool is not swarmed with screaming kids), it´s obvious that the guests are indulging in their own private pools indoors. They can even have a picnic on the pool patio that´s separated from the kitchenette by louvred floor-to-ceiling wooden panels. The kitchenette is complete with a stove, microwave oven, refrigerator, pots, crockery and other utensils, so cooking your own meals is a nice option to dining outside.

The chalet is a complete "home" with dressing area, indoor shower and toilet with gleaming sanitary fittings. While the resort brochure says the decor is "zen-inspired", it has more of a tropical resort feel with a Balinese touch.

The brown tropical hardwood floor and wooden furniture are matched with green screens and wall panels, adding a cool "earthy" touch to the interior. Bali´s natural tumble stone in the shower area, marble flooring in some parts and granite vanity top all lend a posh feel.

The one thing that scores big in terms of comfort are the king-sized beds, each large enough for four slim adults to lie down on. The beds have thick mattresses, clean and crisp linens, and fluffy down comforters and pillows. A large screen TV faces the beds and a mini fridge is all yours to stock up on drinks and tidbits.

The zen-like tranquillity is best felt at night when the boardwalks linking the rows of chalets are swathed in soft light, casting shadows on hanging plants and potted trees. The boardwalks open to the scenic view of the sea and taking a walk here to enjoy the scenery is a favourite pastime for many guests. Twinkling lights from distant spots can be seen and up in the sky, shining stars add to the magical feel.

Reasons To Go

The private swimming pool, of course, and the feel of being surrounded by water. All you want to do is stay indoors, relax completely and make use of all the luxurious facilities. If you´re with a big group of family members, every one can have a splashing good time, away from prying eyes.

What To Do

Besides swimming indoors (or outdoors, if you like), recharge at the Sompoton Spa. Get pampered from head to toe and "vegetate" in the hands of the masseuse.

Children can find more fun at the outdoor children´s pool and play area. Outdoor games, bicycle rental, fishing and crabbing activities are available on request. The indoor games room is the place to go for board games and video games while bookworms can head for the library. There´s also a gym for fitness buffs.

Away from the resort, discover a bit of Lukut history at the Lukut Museum and Fort. Lukut was once a tin-rich place and Bukit Raja in the vicinity was the site of fierce battles between those fighting for control, including Bugis rulers. Kota (fort) Lukut remains as one of the best-preserved Bugis forts in the country.

Where To Eat

You can cook in the chalet or order from room service. There are also in-house restaurants like The Pool Cafe and The Duyung Restaurant which offers all-day dining on local and international fare. The Lanun Bar is for drinks and snacks, with a live band playing in the evening till midnight.

How to reach Glory Beach Resort via the North-South Highway

Get into Seremban Highway.
If you’re not familiar with the North-South Highway, as soon as you see the Seremban exit, drive easy because the next exit (about 2km down) is Port Dickson. At the traffic light, turn right and drive on straight, passing Shell and Petronas (on your left).
You will arrive at Mambau toll house and after paying your toll (that’s RM3.20), about 18km down, you should exit at Lukut/Port Dickson/Sepang (that's after Springhill).
To go to Glory Beach Resort, At the traffic light, take a right and drive straight up about 7km. Try staying on the right lane. You will enter Lukut town, drive by Giant, and as soon as you see Mobil on your left, slow down, take a right and drive on straight until you see the entrance to Glory Beach Resort.

villion Port Dickson offers a unique choice of 300 rooms, comprising Garden Seaview rooms, Garden Chalets, Water Chalets and Suites. Most rooms are sea facing, offering superb vistas of the Straits of Malacca. The ethnically-inspired room designs provide a delightful ambience, combining old world charm with modern comfort. Most rooms are equipped with King-size or Twin bed. Every room has a 'Pangkin' (day bed) and spacious bathroom with shower and separate bath tub. (Garden Seaview rooms are equipped with shower only).

It is in essence designed along the concept of a traditional Malay Fishing Village. The architecture and finishes manifest the influence of Malay and South East Asian culture in an eclectic mood.

The Legend Water Chalets is located along the coastal stretch of Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan on the west coast of Malaysia.

Note :
All rooms, Deluxe Water Chalet, Executive Water Chalet, Premium Water Chalet and Premium Tower Seaview Room will be entitled to a maximum of 2 complimentary buffet breakfasts per room per night.

For the Deluxe Water Chalet and Executive Water Chalet , a maximum of 2 adults are allowed to stay per room. In the case of children, a maximum of 2 children (age between 4 to 12 years) are allowed to share the room with their parents using existing bedding. However, there will be a charge of RM14.38 nett per child per day which comes with a complimentary buffet breakfast.

For the Premium Water Chalet and Premium Tower Seaview Room , a maximum of 4 adults are allowed to stay per room as there is an additional Queen sized bed. In the case of adults, the 3rd adult will be charged RM75 nett and if there is a 4th adult, RM50 nett will be charged per day which includes a complimentary buffet breakfast. In the case of children (age between 4 to 12 years), a maximum of 2 children are allowed to share the room with their parents. However, there will be a charge of RM14.38 nett per child per day which comes with a complimentary buffet breakfast.

All rates are subject to 10% service charge and 5% Government tax.

Accessibility

The Resort is easily accessible via the North-South Expressway. The distance of the Resort is approximately 100 kilometres south of Kuala Lumpur and a leisurely drive would take about an hour.

Places of Interest

Nearby to the Resort, places of interest include the Lukut Museum and Fort, PD Ostrich Farm, Royal Port Dickson Yatch Club and the Armed Forces Museum.

The state of Negeri Sembilan is associated with the Minangkabau culture, reflected by the upswept roofs reminiscent of buffalo horns. One might want to take a drive to Seremban, the state capital which is about 20 minutes from the Resort. Here, one can visit the State Museum, Cultural Handicraft Complex, the State Mosque, Lake Gardens and the numerous shopping centres. Sri Menanti, the site of Malaysia’s largest traditional timber palace is about an hour by car from the Resort.
