a new chapter...

Life has been crazy for my little family lately, which is why things have been so quiet around this blog over the last several months. We are working on a lot of changes and I'm going to be upfront with you, we are starting a new chapter, which means we are closing this one.

My Chandelier Jenny shop and blog will be closing soon as we begin to focus on moving in a new direction. I fondly think of Chandelier Jenny as my practice field, a place where I learned so much. What started out as a hobby has become something more; my dreams have become family dreams and those dreams have transformed and matured. Tyson has become more involved; my plans have become our plans. We want this new project to represent of both of us. And, let's face it, Chandelier Jenny just doesn't cut it. I am still going to be sewing and selling my handmade bags, but they're going to be new and improved. I am also working on a new blog.

Over the next few weeks you'll start to notice some rebranding as we begin this new venture. Changing everything I have built up until this point won't be easy so it may roll out slowly. But I will leave you with this thought, which sums up how I feel right now:

lubbock pinterest event: my booth!

A few weeks ago, I participated in a Pinterest-inspired benefit craft show in Lubbock, TX (2 hours from Amarillo). It was my first "big" craft show, and my 2nd craft show ever. I had a blast! I will definitely be participating in more in the future... You know, when I'm not 9 months pregnant. There were stations set up where you could make different things inspired by pins, and lots of talented local crafters.

I spent lots of time stocking up on product, which wasn't easy in between my day job, being pregnant, and having a head cold that I couldn't shake for a good two weeks. I was happy with what I was able to accomplish, though. And for my second show ever, I think it turned out pretty well. With the help of my husband and friend Rita, my booth turned out to be pretty stinkin' cute if I dare say. ;) Thanks, Rita!

I have to brag on Tyson for a minute here. I showed him some ideas for different displays and asked if he would help me make them. I did not intend for him to do them himself. He was so enthusiastic about it, though, and didn't waste any time getting started. He made them from start to finish and they turned out much better than anything I would have been able to do. I'm so thankful for that man.

The little blue table was inspired by this tutorial. Tyson didn't follow the tutorial exactly, but for the most part it was the same. And I told him I wanted some kind of pegboard display and he free-styled this one. It was even his idea to add the molding, which I think makes it look even more amazing! Good thinking, husband!

It was such a great experience and I'm looking forward to using my awesome displays again in another craft show very soon!

I spend way too much time looking at fonts online--I think I spent over an hour perusing during one sitting last week. I guess you could say I'm slightly obsessed with them. All of the fonts I download are free, though, because I'm on a budget and can't justify spending money on them right now. Even though I see many I wish I could buy, there are great ones that are available for free. I thought it would be fun to show you some of the fonts that I'm currently loving. For the most part, I get my fonts from dafont.com. I'll include links below where you can download these.

I included all-caps for number six (Keytin) because I just really like the way that one looks. And the title includes Alégre Sans and Black Jack.

I've been looking at a lot of bedding lately because I feel like ours is really lacking! Here are some that I love.

1. Chevron Duvet from Urban Outfitters (found image from Chic Geek)

2. Quilt from Target

3. Waves Quilt from Anthropologie (only $998! whoa... with two doggies, I don't think I'd be okay with that)

4. Striped Duvet from West Elm

5. Yellow Foliage Bedding from Target

Wow, I'm definitely drawn to the stripes and yellows. I think it's because I always try to look for something that is somewhat gender-neutral. I can be pretty girly, but Tyson definitely isn't fond of the super girly (e.g., pink) decor. I keep telling him that I'm going to do something big and bold and pink in our house, it's the one color that you can't find anywhere except for my closet and even there it's sparse. ;)
