The Organized Lifestyle: How A Planning And Scheduling Software Program Allows You To Do Everything

by Mack Robinson

You've heard about the "unexamined life" and how it contributes to discontent. Lately though you've discovered how your ridiculous schedule isn't allowing you enough time to even sit and ponder about your life. There is simply too much on your plate right now. Whether it's balancing activities in school and striving to obtain a promotion at your workplace or having a home with five energetic kids and keeping up with social events, you're about all set to run away and look for a nice spot for some serious examination to your life. A moment to yourself is undoubtedly essential but you needn't runaway. All you need is a planning and scheduling software program.

Experts and firms aren't the only ones which need to get planned in relation to managing numerous projects. Parents that happen to be pulling double, even triple responsibilities and students that are having difficulties to meet the expectations of academic work and extracurricular activities must also use a system to keep up. With the culture of multi-tasking, a calendar (with sufficient space to create notes) pinned on the refrigerator will no longer do today. This is, after all, the digital age.

Today's organizing and scheduling can be accomplished and managed through software. You can have access to your personal schedule employing your smartphone. You may also utilize the software to combine with an existing calendar program you're using like iCal or Outlook. The software program allows you to stay on top of your commitments and achieve your duties on the fly. You may even access links to resources and data you'll need to complete your obligations.

Once you have access to a personal timetable with your mobile phone, you don't have to waste time and effort attempting to race home to confirm, for example, if that parent-teacher conference you've planned is taking place that very day or the following day. For any parent balancing a career and work, it's simple enough to overlook meetings. So irrespective of where you happen to be, at a social event or at the office, your frantic routine will be within your reach using your appointment scheduling software.

You never have to worry about passing up on school activities. You don't ever need to scramble for that important exam. You won't ever have to double book a commitment - a normal mistake most working parents make. Scheduling two different appointments in a single day is not only nerve-racking when you realize your mistake. However it could also be the main cause of conflicts with your loved ones or co-workers.

Don't let a insane plan take control of your life. Manage it. Control it. Live it with a smart planning and scheduling software program.

But that fact alone doesn't help you when you have to travel miles out of your way - or even cancel a journey - because there are bridges en route. So what can you do to help overcome your fear of crossing bridges?

One of the components of a phobia of bridges is the fact that they move. OK, that should be reassuring in theory as this movement actually helps their stability. Trees move in the breeze and tall skyscrapers have a degree of movement built into their design. So do bridges, otherwise they'd have to be built a lot stronger than they already are.

If your fear of crossing bridges is such that you can't bear the thought of driving across one yourself then you should consider enlisting the help of a friend. Don't be worried by this thought - New York State regularly offers a chauffeur to assist worried travellers when they cross the Tappan Zee Bridge. Hopefully you'll be able to find a companion who will take over the driving when your worries mount too far.

Building up your courage with small bridges to start with is another way to help tackle this fear. There are plenty of small bridges around that are barely longer than a car's length. Start by crossing these, taking a few deep breaths before you make the crossing. Then take time out when you reach the other side to congratulate yourself on managing the previously impossible task.

It's also worth avoiding television documentaries which inevitably focus on the handful of times when a bridge has collapsed - usually as a result of a lot of circumstances conspiring against it. That said, you might want to avoid any newly built bridges until they have been around for a year or two, just in case there are things that were unexpected in the design but could build on your gephyrophobia. For instance, a few unexpected problems hit the London Millennium Footbridge when it was first opened. Nothing to cause it to collapse but certainly enough to have some people's fear of bridges confirmed.

Another thing to avoid when you're crossing a bridge is looking down, over the edge. This will cause a latent fear of heights to kick in as well, adding to your bridge phobia. So, instead, make sure that you keep your eyes focussed on the road ahead of you when you do finally pluck up the courage to cross a bridge at last.

By Trevor Johnson

Have your normal sleep patterns been disturbed? Because insomnia is often caused by worry, exhaustion, or emotional stress, there are many natural things that you can do to help you feel better and starting to get the sleep your mind and body need to maintain good health.

Some Tips To Help Cure Insomnia:

1. Start Writing Everything Down

If there are things on your mind like your to-do list for tomorrow or worries and concerns that you have been having, then write it down. Writing has a therapeutic effect that can help calm obsessive or intrusive thoughts and assist you to unwind.

2. Change Your Bedtime Routine

Your bedtime routine is what you do about an hour or so before bed. For example, you may get a glass of water, head to the bedroom, put your pyjama's on and brush your teeth. During this routine, your mind can start to become anxious about the inability to sleep for the next 8 hours. This mental stress can cause your blood pressure to rise, and your body can start to have a hard time relaxing. In essence, your bedtime routine can be causing your insomnia.

Try changing up your bedtime routine. Put your pyjamas on a few hours before bed, brush your teeth before you even head to the bedroom. Create a different routine so that your mind doesn't say "Oh, oh. I'm about to try and go to sleep!"

3. Make Sure Your Room is Dark.

Light is what tells our mind that it is time to wake up. When your room is full of light, it can be very hard to convince yourself that it is not time to be awake and; therefore, you can have a harder time falling asleep. Even a small amount of light can have this effect on your mind. Remove all lights from your room, no matter how tiny they are. If this is impossible, get yourself an eye mask to block out the light.

4. Keep Your Room Quiet

Just like light, noise tells us that we have entered the daytime, and it is time to wake up. If you have any sources of noise such as a ceiling fan or snoring spouse, you may want to try to tackle those issues.

5. Don't Use Your Bedroom Like a Hotel Room

Do not use the bedroom for daytime activities like working, watching TV, or eating. This can cause you to associate your bed with the daytime and not allow your brain to turn off for the night.

6. No More Caffeine After Breakfast!

It's very common to have a coffee in the afternoon, but some people are not able to sleep if they have coffee (or any caffeine drink) after the morning. Depending on the person, the effects of caffeine can last for a long time after it is ingested, and if you have a hard time sleeping then it is best to cut it out altogether.

7. You Could Be Going Against Your Natural Rhythm

If you have to get up early for your job, then you have to go to bed early to get a good amount of sleep. Unfortunately, if your body goes against that rhythm of early to bed and early to rise, then you are trying to force your body to do something it doesn't want to do. If you feel as though you are more of a night owl, then you may want to find a job that allows you to work in the evening or night and go to bed when your mind and body are actually ready to go to bed.

8. Try a Foot Bath

This may seem a little unconventional, but it is a home remedy that can work to cure insomnia. A hot footbath before bed can draw blood away from the head and help relax you for sleep.

9. Drink Caffeine Free Tea

Many people find that a warm class of Chamomile or lemon tea help them relax and actually promotes tiredness at night time. Chamomile has been used as a natural treatment for anxiety, sleeplessness and depression for a long time.

10. Take Up Reading

There is nothing better to take your mind of your worries and cares than a good fiction book. Find a book that gets your imagination going and helps you to forget real life for a while. After a chapter or two, you may find yourself starting to drift off into a dream-filled slumber.

The above ten tips are natural ways to help you when you are not able to sleep. Choose the ones that work best for you, and remember that a healthy life requires a good amount of sleep. It is very important to try to cure insomnia before your health starts to suffer.

Take the free quiz and find out why you are not able to sleep. We join a gym, get really involved for the first couple of months, start getting healthy, and then let our fitness slip off of the radar and into an unhealthy oblivion. It's an annoyance, and it's often something that we don't want to happen. If you want to stay on top of your fitness but lack the motivation, then read on to find out how a fitness expert can help you.

They develop a program that suits you

A major factor that contributes to most people's decision when they decide to quit the gym is that they didn't get the results they wanted for their efforts. The truth is, fitness and exercise is an on-going task that doesn't give the instantaneous results that we all want. Unfortunately, time and patience are the key to a better body and better health.

The great news is that fitness experts will discuss with you what you want out of your efforts. They'll then take your aspirations and use their knowledge to develop a program that is tailored to your needs. There's no point in you endlessly pushing weights if you want to improve your cardio, and vice versa. Sometimes, a little bit of expert advice can go a long, long way.

They set goals and revisions

Now, there's no reason you can't set your own goals, but if these goals are unrealistic then you're never going to feel motivated enough to carry on with your exercises. It's often the case that people set goals that are too hard to reach. We are constantly bombarded with ads like 'get a six pack in six weeks' and 'bulk up super-fast'. The truth is that these often provide misinformation, and the reality is much less attractive.

Fitness experts know how your body works and know what you are likely to achieve in a given time frame. They will work with you to set goals that are reachable. Some of these goals may require you to work hard, but at least you'll feel great when you get there. Plus, if you're not totally on track, then you and your fitness expert can work at a strategy to get you to your goal as quickly as possible.

They keep you motivated

The combination of having a tailored fitness program and attainable goals is a wonder worker in the motivational department. Imagine aiming to lose 12lbs in one month and achieving your goal. There's no doubt that will give you the confidence to move forward and push yourself even further.

If you have a fitness expert then they'll regularly encourage you to carry on, praise you when you're doing well, and start asking questions if you start slumping. When it comes to fitness, it's not always easy to get of your butt and into the gym. However, if you know you have someone to answer to, then you'll be much more motivated to get up and get fit.

That's how a fitness expert can help you stay on top of your health and put your body into its prime. Which acne scar removal treatment should you choose depends on the extent of scarring, which in turn depends on your skin tone, genetic makeup and severity of the acne.

Scarring occurs when the body's immune system senses the presence of the P.acnes bacteria in the skin and attempts to heal the skin lesions. Scar tissue forms and the damage to the skin is often made worse when one attempts to pop the pimple. The larger the pimple, the more severe the scarring will be when the pimple is popped before it is allowed to heal.

When scarring occurs on the face, we tend to become even more self-conscious. There are several acne removal methods we can consider. Here are the five most popular acne scar removal methods:

1) Fraxel Laser Treatment

Fraxel laser treatments are FDA approved and they are suitable in treating moderate to severe scarring. The pain you feel during the treatment is minimal. You will also experience a shorter downtime as compared to other forms of laser treatment. Fraxel laser treatments stimulate the production of collagen, and the end result is your wrinkles and acne blemishes become far less conspicuous after treatment.

2) Subcision Procedure

If you have rolling scars, your dermatologist may choose to use the subcision procedure to erase marks left by your acne outbreak. The affected area is first injected with an anaesthetic, after which your doctor will cut the scar tissue to encourage the production of new collagen to fill the depressed area of your scars. You will experience some pain and your doctor may prescribe painkillers after the treatment.

3) Dermal Fillers

Your dermatologist may also choose to inject your scars with skin fillers made up of collagen, polymer and fat. Skin fillers plump up the sunken areas by binding with water molecules to lift the skin. There is no need to use any anaesthesia during the treatment. You are likely to require repeat treatments every six to twelve months.

4) Chemical Peels

Chemical peels involve the use of mild acid to remove dead cells from your skin, stimulating the growth of new skin cells and promote healing. A chemical peel may remove scarring by as much as fifty percent. Your skin is likely to turn pink or red after treatment, and you will need to ensure that you do not expose the treated area to direct sunlight while your skin is healing.

5) Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion is suitable for treating superficial scars. The top most and middle layers of your skin is removed under anaesthesia. This stimulates the production of new skin cells and collagen to promote healing. Shallow scars become far less noticeable. Your skin may take several weeks to heal, but the results are generally long lasting.

While the acne scar removal methods outlined above do produce excellent results, prevention is still better than cure. One must realize that the human skin is rather delicate and gentle treatment is necessary. This is because there may not be a quick acting miracle acne scar removal cream within the immediate future. We owe it to ourselves to care for our skin meticulously so that we will feel confident of our appearance at all times.

Fear holds most people back from going after their dreams and accomplishing goals that truly matter in their life. It is not until you develop the ability to overcome your fears that your life can become truly great. It's easy to believe that successful people are fearless, but the truth is that they have merely cultivated the courage to get through their fears. You can do the same, if you will just make the decision that you will not accept fears standing in your way.

When you know where you're going in life, and you're determined to get there, no fears, obstacles, or challenges can stop you.

1. Awareness

The first step to overcoming your fears is awareness. You first have to become aware of the fact that they are there. When you know what you're afraid of and how it affects your body, you can start taking action to overcoming them. Sometimes just having the awareness that the fear is there reduces the intensity of it. So write down what your biggest fears are and you may just notice an immediate improvement in how you feel.

2. Take Action

The next step is to take action. If you're afraid of public speaking but want to speak in front of a crowd, you have to gradually desensitize yourself to your fear. Join Toastmasters or another organization that will help you become a good public speaker. One of the reasons you are afraid of public speaking is that you don't know how to do it well. Think about something you're excellent at in your life; are you afraid of it? Probably not.

3. Face Your Fears

This is an extension of the previous point. When you face your fears, you realize that the fears in your mind are much worse than the actual fears. This is something I've realized over and over again as I've faced challenges and obstacles in my own life.

Another side benefit of facing your fears is that you develop courage and self-discipline. This will have tremendous impact in how successful and fulfilled you are in life.

4. Release

One of the most effective ways to get rid of your fears is to release them. There are a lot of techniques out there that help you overcome negative emotions and beliefs. A few examples of them are Emotional Freedom Techniques, Sedona Method, and The Work. These are all highly effective for getting rid of bad emotions.

5.

When you quiet your mind, you'll notice that you start getting inspiration and solutions to problems in your life. Have you ever been washing dishes or been in the shower and gotten a great idea? This is exactly what happens when you meditate. Meditation doesn't have to mean sitting down in a lotus position. You can meditate while walking, washing the dishes, or anything else. Meditation is all about focusing on one thing at a time.

Abraham Lincoln stated, "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." How happy will you make up your mind to be? What will you do to create happiness? The following tips will set the stage to create happiness.

• Decide to be happy-first and foremost: As Lincoln stated, most people, most of the time; choose how stressed, happy, or relaxed they want to be. Choose to be happy, stress free and relaxed.

• Listen to or Read less news: Journalism today no longer reports the facts - it is the hype and spin the power brokers want the masses to believe. The media reports sensationalized news - stock market fluctuations, politicians' propaganda, and sports competition. Henry Thoreau once noted that if you read about a train wreck, you understand the principle and do not need to know any of the details.

• Practice Gratitude: Thank yourself, others and your Higher Source for everything in your life - positive, negative or neutral. Everything simply, 'IS.' The ego mind puts a judgment spin on everything.

• Manage Time Well: Manage your time for rest, relaxation, activities, work and naps.

• Laugh Easily and Often: Laugh at yourself, your foibles, the ironies and paradoxes in life. Laugh with your family, friends and co-workers. Laughter is the best medicine - Norman Cousins. The good news is there is no such thing as too much laughter. Although, laughter can be infectious.

• Love with Passion, Purpose and Intent: Express your affection, appreciation, warmth and caring to those with whom you come in contact as well as those you have a relationship with. Be generous - it pays great dividends.

• Work Diligently: Working diligently might seem like an oxymoron, however, you can create tremendous satisfaction in your competence, and joy in completing a task. One of the greatest sources of happiness is to do the work that is worthy of you, and do it well.

• Learn Something Each Day: Learning something new each day means that you are growing,

expanding and challenging yourself to be more of who you truly are. Read, research, adapt and stretch to accommodate new ideas, new technology and trends.

• Stay fit and healthy: Manage a healthy food plan, walk, run, stretch, dance, and challenge your endurance. Daily exercise is good. You have a body and it can be a source of joy or a source of aches and pains. Your choice. Choose well.

• Avoid Toxic Energy: Speak in positive terms, rather than negative (fear, anger, resentment [Stop taking poison and expect other people to die] frustration, wishing, judging and lamenting). Keep people who thrive on negativity, judgment, lamenting at arms length or out of your life.

Unfortunately, needs such as personal fulfillment, a sense of belonging, romantic connections and even physical needs such as sufficient sleep often take a backseat to the professional obligations a person has to fulfill. More and more often, unhealthy lifestyles that leave a lot of people exhausted and unhappy are becoming more common. The worst part is that people have learned to accept this miserable status as the norm.

It's time to break free from this uninspired, monotonous routine. Every person deserves to enjoy a balanced lifestyle. Thankfully, you don't have to take drastic measures to find equilibrium in your life. All it takes is a personal development plan that can give you an idea of what lifestyle adjustments you need to make in order to compensate for the things you lack. Take a few minutes to answer these following questions to help you discover what area of your life needs more focus.

1. Are you healthy?
One of the main reasons why you should make a personal development plan is to make sure that you're getting enough exercise. A sedentary lifestyle can lead to a variety of illnesses. A balanced lifestyle involves indoor or outdoor physical activities that provide sufficient exercise. If your job requires you to sit at a desk for long hours, make sure you balance it out by participating in an active sport or by trying an outdoor hobby.

2. Do you have money saved in the bank?
A balanced lifestyle should be making progress. If you've been working for several years, you should have money saved in the bank. If you don't, then you're spending too much. Make sure that your personal development plan includes a financial plan that can help you, at least, cut on your spending.

3. Do you have peace of mind?
Constant feelings of anxiety and stress are signs of an unbalanced lifestyle. It's normal to encounter challenges at work. What isn't normal, however, is to be so engrossed in your work that it affects every area of your existence. A balanced lifestyle leaves you enough time off to allow you to relieve the work stress you experience. With enough time away from work, you'll return with more energy and a variety of different perspectives that you didn't see before. When you draft your personal development plan, examine your attitude towards the challenges you encounter. Are you inspired to rise above it, or are you incapacitated by anxiety and stress?

4. Do you get enough sleep?
One of the most telling signs of a lopsided schedule is a lack of sleep. Many people take sleep for granted and pay dearly for it. A lack of sleep can lead to unhealthy weight gain, reduced productivity at work, and a general weariness towards life. The fastest way to improve your quality of life is to get more sleep. A balanced lifestyle should allow people at least 8 hours of sleep. Having enough rest keeps you refreshed and energized throughout the day. Make sure that you're functioning at your optimum level by including sufficient rest as one of your goals in your personal development plan.

5. How often do you see your family?
A balanced lifestyle allows an individual to maintain a healthy relationship with his family. If you can't find the time to have dinner with your mother on her birthday, there might be some priority adjustments you need to make. Do you think you'd be happier if you saw your family more often? If your answer is "yes," then don't forget to write that down as one of your goals in your personal development plan.
Erin D Stoddard

Start Respecting Yourself Once For All!

Treat yourself with respect and the world will follow!

We struggle in life. None of us is perfect - all of us have made mistakes. What we need to know is this: no matter what mistakes we've made we still have the chance to overcome them. We still have value in this world, regardless of our past. If you are alive and breathing today you still have another chance to make things right. There is real power in this knowledge. Knowing this is a huge motivator in developing your own self respect. Self respect is required in creating your true self.

Living with self respect for who you are and who you aspire to be will also train the rest of the world in the manner in which they are allowed to treat you. Think about this for a moment. The world will treat you in the same manner in which you treat yourself, If you are viewed as someone that treats their own self and others respectfully then you are likely to have them treat you with the same respect! You know that "you have to give respect to get respect" is true - We have to give respect to ourselves just as we should to anyone else!

So, how do you live in a manner that is respectful to you?

We Should accept your past mistakes
Probably, You've made some bad choices. You didn't really consider the outcome associated with the choices when you made them. You've hurt other people, you've hurt yourself. We all have! Every single person on earth now, has made a mistake, made a bad choice, or hurt someone. The important thing to think about now is what have you learned from the experience? Think about the result of your action or inaction that lead to either someone else or your own self getting hurt. How did it happen? Why did it happen? Answer the questions, internalize the thoughts. If you owe an apology then apologize sincerely. If there is anything else you can do to right your wrong then take the action to do so. Stop beating yourself up over it. You made a mistake, you learned from it, apologized for it, and Get over it!

We Should Treat others with respect
Treat others in the manner in which you want to be treated. Wouldn't the world be a very different place if we could all just follow this one little gem of a rule? If you put this into practice in your own life you will be amazed at the results. You will find almost all of the people you interact with will do so in a much more friendly in an accommodating way. Be genuine, say thank you, be aware of the power you have to influence the feelings of other people and wield your power in a positive way. It will come back to you tenfold. This will make you feel great about yourself and will influence others to treat you just as well as you have treated them.

We Should Forgive others who do not treat you well
Well, it has more power for you than it does for the person you have forgiven. Sometimes it is not even necessary for the forgiven person to know how you feel - it will still free you from the weight of carrying a grudge. People will hurt you - they will criticize unfairly, they will patronize, make mistakes. But hey are also human. They may be forgiven and given another chance! Some deserve many chances if they are sincere in their efforts to stop treating you poorly. This does not mean you should allow people to continually treat you poorly and forgive them so they have to continue to do so. Sometimes we have to leave the bad behind in order to make a way for the good to come. People who consistently treat you badly might just need to be left behind, but even those who get left behind as you move forward through life need to be forgiven, not for them, it's for you. You don't have to carry the weight of their poor behavior, their behavior is their issue not yours. You cannot control them! only your reaction to them and their behavior. Forgive them - but don't allow them to continue.

All the things you have done that you are ashamed of, no matter how poorly you have decided to behave toward others, no matter how poorly you have decided to behave toward yourself, you have value. You can stop the bad and replace it with good. It will take work, but it worth it. It will take time, but you can invest it. The day you start making better choices for yourself can easily be today! You decide! Start with making good choices for yourself. Then begin treating other people just how you want them to treat you. It will not always be easy, they will always challenge you. Don't give up! If you want the world to treat you with respect you must show them the way, If you want the world to treat you with respect you must start respecting yourself first.

This is one challenge that should be faced with courage, and i want you to tell me more about the others!

Good luck!

Great Ways To Not Need So Much Money and Have Less Stress!

We stress about money a lot in our lives. We wonder how we will buy that new coat, boat, or sometimes even food. We wonder how hard we are going to have to work to pay for all the things we want in life. We wonder how we are going to pay the bills, mortgage, and still keep up with our lives outside of bills. Money is always on our mind and we are always trying to get more, but what if we didn't need money so much?

Money is essential to living the life we think we want, and most people are striving to make more money. But because we are always looking to make more money, we forget to enjoy the present moment without the money that we expect will bring us joy. We are so busy chasing happiness that we forget to be happy!

Sometimes you have to take a step back and stop needing the money so much, and start living. Money will come in the future whether you enjoy the present moment or not, so you might as well live in the moment and be happy in the now, instead of always waiting for the money to make you happy in the future.

5 Ways To Not Need So Much Money

1. Recognize What Abundance Really is To You

What are you striving to get with the money? More family time, more vacations, more camping, more relaxation time...recognize the want behind the money. Now have it!

The things you want behind the money can be done on a smaller scale that your dreams, but still be enjoyed just as much. You don't have to go to fancy islands to have a vacation. You can have a vacation in the next town and make the most of it! You don't have to have tons of money to enjoy your family, you can sit down and turn off the TV and talk to your family. There are ways to get more of what you want, that really makes you feel like you have it all, without waiting for the money to come.

2. Cut Back on Things You Don't Need

Having too many 'things' in our lives, that cost money, is common nowadays. The craziest cell phone bill, memberships we don't use, games we don't play, clothes we don't wear, and the list goes on and on. We buy stuff we think we need and then never use it, or we end up not really needing it.

Cut back on buying the things you don't really need and you will find that you form a habit of buying only things that you do need. You will no longer need that fancy artwork you saw on sale or that new kitchen gadget that does exactly what your knife can do. You will no longer be sold on advertisements and must-haves. And most importantly you will no longer need more money so that you can buy things you don't need!

3. Stop Paying To Exercise

So many people have gym memberships or buy workout equipment that they don't end up using. Exercise can be accomplished without the gym. Our legs and arms work whether we are in a gym or outside. So choose the free option and start exercising your right to not pay for exercising.

You can use many things in your house and outside as exercise equipment. Stairs can be turned into cardio machines. The floor can be used for push-ups. Heavy objects can be used as weights. The park bench can work your triceps by doing dips. You can get a great workout without having to pay for it. Stop needing money to pay for a membership you don't really need.

4. Love Doesn't Equal Gifts

You may think that the way to show your partner, family, or friends love is to buy them stuff, treat them to dinner, and pay for expensive outings, but money doesn't equal love. You can have a great time with people and not spend an arm and a leg.

I used to have a friend who thought quality time together was shopping, eating out, going to a movie, and then heading out to a bar. This got expensive and it was hard to keep up with that. In fact, I felt like the money I earned was so that I could enjoy my free time with my friend.

Without money, do you have no free time? Of course not! You can still spend time with your loved ones without spending money AND enjoy their company and show them love. Money doesn't buy love, and it doesn't equal love, so stop needing money to show love.

5. Don't Compare Yourself to Others

It's very easy to determine what you need in life based on what other people are getting in theirs. That's what companies depend on! They want you to see that other people are enjoying their new purchase and that the only way to be happy in life is if you purchase it as well!

For example, if your neighbour gets a trampoline and you don't have one does this mean that you need one? No. Will you be a happier person if you get a trampoline that you never really needed before? No. Will you be less of a person if you don't have a trampoline? No. Will your neighbour think they are better than you? Who cares!

Sometimes we compare our status in life to how much we have compared to others. We don't want to get left behind or have less than others people, and that's what causes us to buy stuff we don't really need. Stop making assumptions about your status in life by comparing what you have to others.

If you are always waiting for more money, more free time, or more anything to be happy then you may find that you will never be truly happy, even when the money comes.

Kari Farmer

How To Learn The Law of Attraction is now a hot subject. Many people are studying the Law of Attraction to manifest what they desire in life. From cars, wealth, family relationships to harmony with friends. Here is step by step on how you can learn the law of attraction.

1. Understand what is law of attraction

The law of attraction is when the Universe provides what you have been desiring into reality. If you desire a new laptop for example, the Universe will provide that laptop and make it appear in your reality unexpectedly.

2. Understand how law of attraction works

The Law of attraction works when you want it or not. It all begins with the mind. If you are thinking about something disastrous and you are very worried about it and believe it will happen, then this is the perfect recipe for the law of attraction to work.

The Universe does not know, whether you want that desire to happen or not. All it knows is that you have been thinking about it with belief and it is taken as an instruction to appear in your life.

3. What is needed for law of attraction to work?

When you practice the law of attraction, you need to meet the following requirements:

- thinking a lot about your desire as if you are experiencing it now
- have faith in your desire. Believe that it will manifest in your life with a doubt
- think of your desire in the present NOW. Not in the past or in the future.
- Visualize your desire. Actually see yourself and feel yourself experiencing your desire when you visualize
- Affirmation. Speak words to yourself which will gradually stick in your subconscious mind. Say positive things to yourself.

4. How do I know that I am applying the Law of Attraction properly?

If you are feeling happy and positive about your desires, and you are constantly motivated in your thinking, then you are applying the law of attraction. Think about it. If you are experiencing or imagining what you desire now, you are obviously happy about it. Vice versa, if you are worried and unhappy, then at that moment you are using the law of attraction in a wrong way. You are attracting the wrong things in life.

5. How fast does law of attraction work?

This is unknown. The law of attraction sometimes manifest our desires very quickly and sometimes they take weeks, months or years. All is known is that the Universe will receive your instructions, and then make situations happen which will let you receive your desire.

For example, if you are desiring a new car, then the Universe will probably arrange for a relative to win a competition and then pass the car to you as they don't like it. There are many ways which the Universe will work to meet your desires. It takes its own time and uses its own way.

In summary, the Law of Attraction works and it involves you telling the Universe what you want with emotion. Using the above steps you are well on your way to learning the law of attraction. If your desires don't manifest then you need to sit down and think quietly what the reasons are. The law of attraction works whether you want it or not.

Happiness cannot be defined for it does not give one single meaning by all. One must fill oneself with the feel of contentment to enjoy the intense feel of happiness. It is surrendered to the actual situation that we are surrounded by.

Life is a gift enfolded with happiness and as well darkness. There is a light at the end of every tunnel; the sun returns after every storm. The essence of goodness of life is felt when we lift ourselves out of the darkness and appreciate the good things in life. It is essential by every individual to get wrapped with positive thoughts, for it enlightens the relationship with family and peers. Surround yourself with strong bonds to get wrapped in positive thoughts for it's not an easy task. True happiness is felt at giving, though money can plenty things that would make your life more comfortable and luxurious, you cannot find contentment until your heart rest into authentic happiness.

If you wish to be happy and cheerful, act in that way and then you will soon get yourself being that way. Let your sadness shrink itself by the pleasure to face the happiness and pleasure in your face. Derive the desire in you to feel content and then make sure you deserve it with your lifestyle and try to put happiness back into your life. The best way to go ahead in life is to help other get ahead, brighten their day in turn; it will make you feel good. Keep your life simple to make the world around you a nicer, more peaceful, friendlier, and happier place to live.

Life is not to prove others as what you are; it should not contain explanations for trust, neither a challenge to our personal self. Soften your conversation, cover your anger with a blanket of peace and silence, be flexible for every relationship holds its own meaning and it's not meant for gridlocks and conflict.

The creative solution out of problems to keep the life simple is to prioritize. At times one may find it hard to let things go but neither easy to hold on too, and it is then that they must prioritize and overcome negative energy, conflict, lack of civility. Love yourself and you will love others more than they could expect. Love is not just to yearn from others; it is to fill one and to share with others.

Happiness is to enjoy yourself and for this does not live in your own little world rather enjoy with the worlds of others and let your world be enjoyed by others. Authentic happiness is a state of mind, so do not just look at the circumstances; look above and beyond them. It always pays to put others before you; it is the path to true happiness. Happiness should always be felt within you.

Patterns are the behaviors that make you say, "Why do I always do this?" At times, they can feel like the fabric of who you are. In reality, patterns are just learned habits, and we can change them to feel better about ourselves. Through sustained focus and inner reflection, you can understand the past, and how to change the patterns that keep you from being happy.

My 5-year-old granddaughter, (normally the happiest, chattiest, sweetest child), occasionally falls into a dark place. She tells herself, "No one loves me," "I'm a jerk!" "Everyone wants me to go away." Then she gets angry, has tantrums, is whiny or argumentative She creates this heart breaking behavior that she creates by herself, without any apparent outside catalyst.

My granddaughter is telling herself the story that she's not lovable, a story prompted perhaps by jealousy or need for attention. She does get the attention, negative, with a "time out until you feel better;" making her feel more isolated and unwanted - a vicious cycle.

We are all capable of falling into these vulnerable places, which are created by interpretations of early life experience. We then use these beliefs to define ourselves.

These cognitions become a part of our "perceived reality." Like looking through a filter that reinforces our negative thoughts, we don't think clearly, and thus are prone to distort whatever other reality is present. Most of the time, these beliefs aren't even true, though they feel well engrained, and very real.

Come on, you know what your patterns are. You often know when you're in one, because you feel self-righteous, hurt, angry, sad, or are in some kind of emotional pain. Frank Oliver explained it well in his verse:

Watch your thoughts; they become your words.
Watch our words; they become your actions.
Watch your actions; they become your habits.
Watch your habits; they become your character.
Watch your character; It becomes your destiny.
Frank Outlaw

Everything we do, how we carry ourselves, the choices we make, the way we relate to one another, informs our destiny. If you want to feel more loved and loving, you must start with how you relate to yourself. When your thoughts are self-absorbed in a negative way, your words and actions are thoughtless, or worse, unkind. If you don't respect and care for yourself, you may begin to treat others cruelly, developing habits that are rude, disrespectful, defensive and alienating.

It's time to turn it around. Live life more intentionally. Bring consciousness to the challenge of living today with more loving kindness to others. You can experience the positive response of moving yourself, and your negative self-perception away from being your primary focus, instead turning your attention to an awareness of others.

1. Learn to refine your mind. Cultivate quieting exercises through meditation, breathing, or chanting (I like to hum.) Develop an observing part of the mind that can catch and challenge those old patterns of thinking.
2. Learn to do self-inquiry. Focus on your patterns and habits; learn who you are in relation to your past, and how certain patterns arise in your life.
3. Take time for self-reflection through journaling, and quietly turning inward. Do activities that support self-discovery and personal transformation.
4. Contemplate not just what you want, but what you want for the world.
5. Set specific goals, let-go of self-judgment and forgive your mistakes. Be patient and compassionate with yourself.
6. Check-in internally at the end of the day. Create an affirmation to support the intention of self-growth and change. "I am loving and happy."

Behind feeling separate and alone lies a fundamental oneness, shared by all humans. Our strengths are in our stillness, being open, feeling connected, and knowing that the frightened, egoic person that fills your head with negative thoughts, is not who you truly are. Recognize that, by consciously being aware of your inner-self, you can effect the exterior world.

After doing this work, you are left with the option - to just be happy.

Pamela has a multi-faceted approach to her wellness orientation. Using techniques such as meditation, stress management and visualization. She uses holistic, self-empowering tools to assist her reader to come to a place that is nurturing and empowering. The foundation of which is loving kindness.

Have you noticed that you have less patience than you used to? Are you less willing to stand in line? Do you have a shorter fuse with your co-workers, your spouse, or your kids? Do you find yourself less tolerant of sifting through your email? How about that slow driver in front of you? Have you "had it up to here" with politics on the other side of the aisle?

Maybe you keep your impatience inside, rather than expressing it. Yet, that only serves like a cap on a soda bottle that's constantly shaken up-you're going to explode when you take that cap off.

Hopefully, that's a little more dramatic than you feel, but maybe not. I've witnessed an epidemic of impatience these days. From road rage to nasty emails to irate customers, it seems that we're losing our patience and, with it, our civility.

What can we do about that?

The key I've discovered is to understand that "the way I'm looking at things" is the real culprit. It's the way we look at something that causes impatience, not the event itself. You can prove this to yourself by noting that sometimes you have great patience for something and, at other times, you have little patience for the same circumstances. It's all about what is going inside you at the moment-or how you are looking at things-your perception.

Therefore, if you can then shift your perception, you can discover a new way of relating to what is happening-and possibly one that is filled with more understanding, compassion, enjoyment, and patience.

So what is the perceptual habit that creates impatience?

Consider the idea that impatience comes when you judge "what is happening" by an imaginary ideal of what "should be" happening. For example, you think traffic "should be" moving faster. You think that another person "should be" considering your point of view. You think that you "should be" farther along in your healing or in your progress with some task. You think that... You get the idea.

We judge "what is" happening by what we think "should be" happening and get impatient with what's going on.

The next step is to realize that, actually, "what is happening" is what "should be" happening given current conditions. In other words, notice cause and effect. For example, if it's rush hour, there actually should be a lot of traffic. A lot of people are going to and from work at this time.

If you aren't progressing in a task, have you really been doing what you need to do to move it along? If another person isn't considering your point of view, have you been considering theirs? Engage in a little observation of what is actually happening and recognize possible causes and effects. When you notice why things are the way they are, you may notice your impatience lessening or dissolving altogether.

Try this out the next time you feel impatient and see if it works for you. Ask yourself two questions: "What do I think 'should be' happening right now?" and "What is causing things to be the way they are?" See if asking those two questions shifts your perspective in a way that releases your impatience.

Of course, doing this takes some effort to step back from how you are looking at things and some skill at observing yourself and others. These are skills that you can develop. Meditation is one great way to do develop those inner skills. Check out the Resource Box below for more information on the best meditation methods.

Kevin Schoeninger

How is that possible? When you make time to breathe you are not only inhaling oxygen that your body obviously needs to survive but you are also removing and releasing stress. We all know that stress is something that can ruin your day, month and entire year; but with simply 5 minutes per day you, yes you can curb those thoughts and learn to avoid them completely.

Finding time to breathe is something that needs to be part of your daily routine. Now, don't misunderstand this concept or think that its something that won't work for you. Making the time to take a deep cleansing breathe will absolutely help you to think clearer and release the negativity you are housing within you.

**Cleansing breath - inhale deeply through the nose and hold for a count of 10 then exhale slowly to a count of 10 and repeat.

This routine works hand in hand with managing your time. When you learn to manage your time, your stress level will be reduced because you will have more time to focus and will have more time to share with your family and friends.

Here are some ways to improve your time management:

Make a list for the day - use as a guide only

Schedule time for YOU - be sure to include on your list for the day, time for you, whether it's 15 minutes or
60 minutes, allowing yourself some down-time will refresh your mind

Keep a planner (whether paper or electronic) - many times we have more than our schedule to keep track of so instead of burning off brain cells trying to remember them all, write them down or plug into your electronic planner

Delegate, delegate, delegate - never think you have to do it yourself and this includes the work place and in the home

Don't over commit yourself - something that is easier said than done, but learning to say 'no' will allow you to say 'yes' to what truly matters

Making time to breathe will help you handle stress.

How do you handle stressful situations? Breathing helps but did you know that keeping a stress journal, also works? Keeping notes of stressful situations and your reactions to them, you will help you identify your reactions. When make note and identify your reactions to certain situations you will soon learn to control them and switch the reaction to positive ones. This entire process of writing, identifying and controlling your emotions will help enhance your entire well-being.

Learn to lean on your family and friends. When you are cared for, loved, and valued your entire mental and physical attitude is affected. Sounds strange but it works. Never think that you have to endure mental stressors alone, speaking about them and letting them out will enhance the healing process.

As you can tell finding time to breathe can take as little as 5 minutes. It actually takes a mere 5 minutes and sometimes less to assess a situation and determine if you will allow your mind take over and let the stress settle in. It takes only 5 minutes or less to control your thoughts, emotions and to make a choice. Ultimately the decision is yours, however we all know that no one likes to be stressed.

Finding time to breathe will melt away your stress, what will you choose?

Dr. Daisy Sutherland, aka Dr. Mommy is a doctor, mom, wife, author and speaker. With each anxious thought your soul begins to vibrate. Overwhelmed, stressed, panicked, it's a very slippery slope. The more you vibrate on the inside the more it ripples though your entire body and your every thought. The longer you continue to vibrate the louder it gets spilling out and effecting those around you, your job, your well-being until everything is just a mess.

When you feel yourself beginning to vibrate here are a few tricks to calm yourself down.

Do a Brain Dump - Grab a piece of paper and make a list. If your feeling overwhelmed with tasks this is a great way to get a sense of control. Don't over-do the list, make it simple.

Journal - Grab your journal and begin to write. No need to be perfect or even legible. Just get it on paper and more times than not the answer may appear on the page. Once it's on paper those little thoughts tend to leave you alone.

Schedule a Time to Worry - Have something bugging you that you can't worry about right now? Schedule a time to worry. Often by the time the appointment shows up this problem has been removed from our list. They have a magical way of working out without us in the middle.

Grab a Snack - Sometimes we are simply dehydrated or are in need of food. Grab a large glass of water and a healthy snack to fuel up. Cold apples, little lean protein are perfect choices.

Call a Positive Friend - Keep a good, positive friend on speed dial. This should be someone you trust that you can call out of the blue. They might have a good way of putting your worries in perspective.

Listen to Music - Music is therapy for the soul. I like to keep songs on my MP3 that really take me to a happy place. Often these songs can quiet the vibrations going on in my body. Positive guided MP3s can be uplifting.

Exercise - Something as simple as jumping jacks, squats, walking in place, dancing can increase the happy hormones and release the stress. Doesn't take long and you will feel great once you get moving.

Take a Walk Outside - As you walk focus on the sounds and smells of your surroundings. Take deep, full belly breaths to calm your soul.

Heading off anxiety from the start can make all the difference, before long these techniques will become second nature and quiet the vibrations.

Because stress can take a big toll on our physical and mental well-being it is very helpful to know how to manage stress.

Here are three suggestions as to what to do to relieve stress.

1. Acknowledge that you are stressed.

This may seem so simple but reality is that many people who are living with stress do not say to themselves "I am really stressed". Instead they may be dealing with stress by eating, drinking or smoking more, having difficulty with sleep or communicating tersely or rationalizing what is going on. We all have our ways of coping when we are stressed. I can generally tell when my husband is under a lot of work stress because he stops saying NO to requests. Instead he takes on more and more at work and home because he is past the point of being able to think rationally as to what he can or cannot take on. When you admit to yourself that you are stressed it frees you up to begin doing something about it.

2. Set aside 10 minutes daily for "Me Time.

If you want to get a sense of being in control of your life back you have to make time for yourself. My suggestion is to start with ten minutes of "Me Time" a day. For people who are in overwhelm to create a ten minute space is a big deal. This is a time to sit quietly or lie down and begin to breathe deeply. Just be centered on your breathing in the present and try to calm your mind so that you are not in the past or future with your thoughts.

3. Begin looking for a solution

Once you have mastered the breathing so that you can stay mentally in the present begin to look for a possible solution. Choose one item from your stress pile where you realize that by making a small change you would feel relief. For instance, it could be asking someone to help you with a task or saying no to a request.

By having created "me time" space and refocusing on the present you are in a much better place to come up with possible ways to reduce stress in your life. Solutions begin to appear when the mind is settled and one can think afresh.

To learn more about introducing positive change into your life I invite you to visit http://www.kristinavonrosenvinge.com. The pace and intensity of our current global society gives us ample personal experience with time pressure, muscle tension, anxiety, fear, and, in the extreme, the feeling that your head just might "explode." Stress researchers have called this the "fight or flight" response because it comes from your body's ability to get geared up to face, or run from, perceived threats to your survival, health, happiness, success, and well-being.

The fight or flight response is helpful and effective for dealing with immediate dangers such as a natural disaster, car accident, impending deadline, or emergency situation. However, when stressors are persistent and the stress response becomes chronic, we suffer from a host of stress-related effects, including high blood pressure, heart attacks, indigestion, insomnia, irritability, and anger, to name just a few. We also exhaust ourselves and suppress our immune response so we become susceptible to any and all discomforts and diseases.

Fortunately, our bodies have an amazing balancing mechanism-"the relaxation response." Dr. Herbert Benson popularized this term in 1975 with the release of his book by that name. In his book, Dr. Benson details how you can consciously activate your body's parasympathetic nervous system, your body's natural rest and recovery mode.

Since that time, countless self-care techniques have been tested for their ability to activate the relaxation response. Among these are exercise, stretching, self-massage, and mind-body training such as meditation, t'ai chi, and yoga. All these are phenomenal practices which I highly recommend. They also take some degree of time commitment and practice.

In this article, we'll talk about three simple things you can do, anytime, anywhere, to shift out of stress mode and into relaxation. I suggest that you practice these in a quiet, private environment first, so you can focus your attention and learn to do them well. Then, you can take them on the road and into any situation or environment to help you find your relaxed, calm, center in the midst of whatever is going on around you.

3 Easy Ways to Relax

1. Take slow, deep, conscious breaths

It's a good thing that your body takes care of breathing for you, 24/7, whether you are consciously aware of it or not. However, taking a few moments to become aware of your breathing, make it slower and deeper, and feel it inside your body is a great way to activate relaxation.

Imagine there are two vertical balloons that stretch from your lower abdomen up to your collarbones. As you inhale, imagine and feel as if these balloons fill up from bottom to top. When you exhale, imagine and feel as if these balloons empty out from top to bottom.

Slow your breathing down so that you inhale to a four-second count, pause, exhale to a five-second count, pause, and repeat. Count 10 of these slow, deep, conscious breaths and feel how your body relaxes.

2. Feel the space inside your body

Researchers have found that feeling almost any space within your body can have a calming effect. To practice feeling your inner body, focus on any body-part and feel the space inside your skin. You might start with your hands and/or your feet.

For many people, the hands are a good place to begin because they are highly sensitive. Relax your hands and rest them, palms-down, on your thighs. Begin by feeling the space inside one finger on one hand, say your index finger. Then, expand your inner feeling to include the rest of your fingers, one at a time. Expand your sensation to include your whole hand. You can then do the same with the other hand. You can try this with your feet as well.

If you enjoy the practice and it works well for you, you can expand your inner feeling to include your whole body. As you get good at this, it feels great! And no one, except you, knows that you're doing it.

3. Shift your perspective

When you find yourself caught up in stress, insert a mental pause, and step back from what you are doing. Observe what you are thinking, feeling, or doing at the moment. Witness your behavior without reacting to it or judging it as "good" or "bad." Simply notice what is happening. Realize that whatever you are doing, you can choose to do something different and more effective.

Take a moment to imagine what you might think, feel, or do differently that would change the situation for the better. Could you see the situation from another person's point of view? Could you listen better? Could you express your true feelings in a way that is not blaming or accusing? Could you take a deep breath, feel inside your body, and come from a more relaxed perspective?

Practice these three simple techniques often and notice how you begin to master the stressful situations in your life.

Are you ready to de-stress, quiet your mind, and relax deeply? The good news however is that you can get back in control of this emotion and start feeling better overall by taking some simple steps. If you find is that your anger is overwhelming when you're driving it may be time to take anger management classes as an online course.

It is not uncommon for road rage to get out of control and lead to an accident or a physical showdown. When two drivers start to have a power struggle while driving the results can be catastrophic. You see, road rage is just a symptom of something that is much deeper. In order to fully handle this problem you can take anger management course (either online or face-to-face) that will give you answers about this anger and how to effectively deal with it. You know that if it is not handled it could lead to something bigger.

Avoiding potential causes

There are a few things that you can do to help prevent road rage from starting in the first place. The first thing is to avoid situations that can brew into something bigger. If you are being tailgated, for example, simply switch lanes and don't play any games. If you start playing a game you may find that the person behind you starts playing as well and you end up being rear-ended.

If you see somebody raising the finger at you, the wrong thing to do is raise yours back. Of course you are going to want to, and you will have to fight back this feeling. Simply ignore the action and carry on driving safely. There is too much to lose and nothing to gain by getting involved in a power struggle with someone you'll probably never see again.

Things to remember

You probably don't know the person that you are dealing with and chances are you'll never see them again. Do you really want to give this person the satisfaction of getting to you? What gives this person the right to spoil your day? Nothing. You are the one that is in control of your emotions and you can decide that you are a stronger person and will have a great day.

This is the attitude that will help get you through your anger when you are driving and it is taught in anger management classes. You can take an online course to help you gain control over your feelings of anger and not allow them to dictate how you will react in various circumstances.

You are very powerful and have the ability to handle this. Anger management classes will help you confront your feelings of anger and show you how to deal with them. You will be the one that makes things change and you are the only one that can really get the anger replaced with a more positive emotion.

A term that is familiar to everyone. So, let me ask, what is Optimism? What I think is most of the people would say Optimism is thinking positive and there is no harm in saying or thinking that but unfortunately there is a lot of difference between Optimism and Positive Thinking. If I state the dictionary meaning of Optimism it would be "an inclination to put the most favourable construction upon actions and events or to anticipate the best possible outcome". I hope it is clear what Optimism is? The definition lucidly states the words inclination & anticipation. This means Optimism is just an inclination towards a particular event or a prediction of an event. But this is just the beginning or a zero-level thought. What after this? What an Optimist is doing to fructify his inclination or prediction? So, the answers to all the questions are POSITIVE THINKING. In short, Optimism is just taking the things positive and Positive Thinking is thinking positive.

Now, let me focus on the first part of the dictionary meaning "An inclination to put the most favourable construction upon actions and events". If I say that you are a very positive & calm guy. You never argue or fight with anyone & you are just inclined to put the most favourable construction upon your actions. Now say someone criticized you and you showed no reaction to it as you are an optimist. It's good that you were successful to avoid the skirmish. But till what time will you be able to continue doing that. Actually you are just controlling your anger and one day you will surely regurgitate all your anger upon him. But instead if you are a Positive Thinker, several questions will come into your mind as soon as you are criticized. You will think that why has this happened? Why the person did criticize me in this way? What is there in me to change? And you will change yourself so that you don't get criticized again.

Now, let's talk about the second part of the definition "to anticipate the best possible outcome". Suppose two teams are to play a cricket match where one is weaker than the other and is sure to lose. An Optimist captain of the weaker team will anticipate/predict the best possible outcome that they can win the match. But the question is HOW?? While on the other hand, if the team captain is a Positive Thinker again several questions will come into his mind. He will think that how they can win the match? What are the strategies that can make his team a winner? And he will make his team as stronger as the other team and will emerge as a much better contender than before.

So, the difference is clear, "Positive Thinking can make you an Optimist. But Optimism can never make you a Positive Thinker."

First be a Positive Thinker and then an Optimist because Optimist may impede you from becoming a Positive Thinker. There are always some questions or difficulties attached with your optimistic thoughts just identify them by deep thinking and work out the strategies to resolve them by positive thinking.

BE HAPPY AND KEEP GROWING MENTALLY!

But the good news is, there are lifestyle choices that you can make to help overcome this problem.

The key word is choice - you can choose to follow a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes it helps to break things down into small, specific steps you can take (just trying to lead a "healthier lifestyle" is a bit vague!). Following are some of these specifics. And remember, setbacks and relapses are not unusual. Don't beat yourself up; just start fresh tomorrow.

It is never too late to start afresh and start feeding your body with the nutrients it needs to sustain itself and function better as a whole.

Under-nourished people usually do not have the time or knowledge to ingest proper food and are thus losing out on a healthy lifestyle and risk putting their lives in jeopardy.

Exercise

Experts are in general agreement that regular exercise three to five days a week is most beneficial. This exercise should consist of at least 20 minutes of cardiovascular exercise (such as vigorous walking, jogging, biking, etc.) followed by some light toning or weight training. Committing to this regimen full-force is not necessarily the best way to go; if you can only exercise once or twice a week, that's still better than nothing and will hopefully pave the way for more in the future.

Exercise is said to relieve emotional overeating in several ways. For one, exercise produces endorphins which are the body's natural "feel good" hormones. For another, exercise prevents boredom and mindless eating, which is what you might be doing if you weren't exercising! And finally, exercise will likely boost your self-image, helping to break the cycle of low self-esteem and poor self-image that "feeds" emotional overeating disorder.

Nature

Never underestimate the healing power of nature! For those with emotional overeating disorder, choosing to spend more time out in nature can be particularly beneficial. After all, in the natural realm there are no media messages to mess with your self-image, and being in nature connects you to your origins and the origins of food.

Some experts theorize that detachment from food and its natural source plays a role in emotional overeating disorder. Getting involved in nature and exploring and appreciating it can go a long way toward reconnecting with our biologically normal view of food. Maybe you can kill two birds with one stone and do your regular exercise outdoors!

Michael O Pisani is a qualified nutritionist who specialises in fitness and sports.

Visit his site at http://cometoparadisetoday.com to have the chance to get your free eBook every week for 3 months.

For a better quality of life it is important to understand how to think positively when everything is going wrong. The outlook that an individual embraces effects almost all areas of their life. Adopting an optimistic way of thinking will create an atmosphere of calm and control.

When everything seems to be going wrong it is easy to begin thinking negative thoughts. However, one way to turn pessimism into optimism is to change the way that the events are being looked at. Negative events tend to leave an individual feeling drained and helpless. However, each occurrence that is experienced has a bright side. Focusing on what is or what will be positive as a result of the negative event will help the individual to regain a positive energy.

Having a positive role model who has overcome some of the circumstances being experience can be helpful. If an individual sees that they are not the only person that has gone through bad times, and that there are people who have risen above their same circumstances it can elicit hope. When a person feels hopeful they typically begin to feel more confident that they will overcome challenges.

Individuals may want to take the time to assess their strengths. Focusing on what is good about their abilities will allow the person to gain reassurance that they have the necessary fortitude to get through hard times. Taking an inventory of challenges that were faced in the past and remembering how they were overcome will help the individual be reminded that they are strong enough to succeed again.

Changing diet and lifestyle can be effective in overall mind and body connection. If areas in life are adverse, individuals tend to fall into a destructive pattern of skipping exercise and eating unhealthy meals. This can cause fatigue and sometimes depression. Consuming foods high in protein and nutrients and avoiding sugars, salts and processed foods will help the mind and body become more focused and energized. Additionally, exercising at least three times a week will increase confidence.

Setting realistic goals and time-lines will help an individual gain control of their circumstances. Evaluating each negative situation individually will help the individual to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Writing ideas down on a piece of paper will help to maintain focus and accountability.

It can be difficult to know how to think positively when everything is going wrong. However, when individuals focus on what they have control over and let go of what they cannot control they will feel more empowered and optimistic.

Do you want to learn more about Positive Thinking-How To Think Positively When Everything Is Going Wrong?

It makes a vast difference to build self confidence. But primarily, what is self confidence? Simply put, self confidence is believing in yourself, that you can do what you have set out to do and can do it well. When you build self confidence, you always tell yourself "I can do this just as others can". Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American poet who led the Transcendentalist movement of the mid- 19th century said "If I have lost confidence in myself, I have the universe against me". Emerson knew what he was talking about. He was a champion of individualism.

Having an optimistic outlook or a positive mindset is integral in building self confidence. If a person thinks negative of himself, they antagonize the goodness the universe can offer. In the law of attraction, like attracts like, and positive attracts the positive. Our thoughts basically create our reality. Thinking negatively of oneself then makes a person dwell in a grim world. Circumstances are likely to be antagonistic as well.

Liking yourself is a major step to build self confidence. Being confident of yourself doesn't make you a whiner. Instead, you know how to take responsibility. Self confidence is not to be confused with arrogance, either. An arrogant person belittles other people, and that may be a sign of insecurity. A confident person, on the other hand, sees the good in other people. They take time to support and encourage others without feeling defensive or jealous.

Build self confidence and believe you can succeed. Having confidence in yourself makes you set realistic goals you expect to achieve. Believing in yourself is empowering yourself. It becomes a self- fulfilling prophecy when you believe you can because you incorporate the power of positivity into your system as you boost it.

Being assertive is another way to build self confidence. You are able to stand up for what you believe in. You are resolute about your decisions and not swayed by what other people might say or do. Knowing how to assert yourself and your needs gives you less stress. It makes you enjoy life better as you take an active role in it. Situations may go awry, but as you build self confidence, you become optimistic about the future.

You believe difficulties are challenges you can overcome and there is a way out. You take responsibility and take charge of your thoughts, your actions and your life. Self confidence is the realization that you are a valuable person. You are aware of your own worth, your own space and your own place in the society. You appreciate your achievements and you believe you made them, not a product of luck. Self confidence is perceiving yourself in a positive light. Keep on shining and prevail. Empower yourself and build self confidence by surrounding yourself with confident people.

I take this to basically mean the belief in one's ability to achieve success. When I feel undervalued or feel like giving up on something, I always remember this quote I heard as a child, "Aim for the moon, even if you miss you'll land among the stars." - Unknown

This quote always reminds me that I should just go for it no matter what it is and that I should not worry about meeting my goal because even if I do not achieve success, then at least I would have tried and I may end up one step or perhaps several steps closer to what I wanted. The one main reason that I always try is because I never want to look back and say to myself, "I wish I had......" Those words are words that mean that I did not have enough gumption to at least try to achieve my dream.

So, what should you do to in order to increase your level of confidence? Well,

1. Ask yourself this question....."What is holding me back?"

Is there someone around you feeling your head with negative thoughts? Is it you? The more you allow someone to put you down the more you will come to believe what they are saying. We, ourselves, are guilty of beating ourselves up for mistakes that we have made or what someone continues to blame us for. It is important to recognize this and make a conscious decision to tune that person out or if it is you, forgive yourself. What ever happened, happened. You can not change the past. You can only learn from the past. I always tell my friends, "When you know better, you do better." In other words, learn from your mistakes (or the mistakes of others) and move on!

2. Ignore/Eliminate the negative....

If there is someone around you feeding in to those negative thoughts, then it is time to find a new friend. If you live with them, until you can move, drown them out. If you have to agree just to get along, and unfortunately we find ourselves in that situation sometimes at work or at home, then do so, but the moment you have time to yourself, remind yourself how wonderful you are and that you can achieve anything if you believe that it is possible. This is basically the concept of Step 3.

3. Remind yourself that your life has purpose

I do not care who you are, where you are from, how rich or how poor you are, or who you may be related to, you have a purpose. You are not here by accident and you have the right to be happy. No one should be mad at you for wanting to be happy and you should definitely want to find happiness out of life.

4. Tell yourself, "If others have done it, I can too."

I do not care if a million people have done it before you made your first attempt; you have something unique to bring to the table. Look at the millions of entertainers that have come and gone yet we always crave for more and something new even if it is simply a rendition of something old! If you want to redesign the mop, do it! If you have a new concept for a clothing store, do it! If you want to adopt a child, do it! Nothing is holding you back, except you. The world is filled with endless possibilities, sometimes you may have to work a little harder or dig a little deeper to get what you want. Remember, if it isn't worth the effort, then it may not be worth having.

5. Follow these steps as often as you can

You have to continuously encourage yourself. Negative thoughts and negative people are always going to try to influence you, but you have to make the choice to remind yourself that you are worth the effort and you have the ability within you to accomplish great things. If you are still a bit fearful, then this quote that I once heard from motivational speaker Les Brown say, "Be prepared for the opportunity." In other words, if there is something you want but your current circumstances will not allow you to take immediate action, then prepare yourself fro an opportunity should one arise; do the research, start saving the money you may need, begin looking at resources that could help you, try to network with people who are doing what you want to do or at least work in the field that you want to work in. Whatever it may be, choose to start something today.

So go! Be Bold! Be Brave! Be Fearless!

Edith Logan
