Der awesomige Kurzfilm “Paths of Hate” von Damian Nenow kommt in fantastischer Sound- und Kameraarbeit daher. Wer auf einmotorige Weltkriegsflugzeuge steht und Zombies mag, dem stehen gute zehn Minuten ins Haus.

Oscars 2012 oder: Die Nacht, in der ich ins Vorhersagen-Klo griff. Nur 17 von 24 – Skandalöschen! Letztes Jahr hatte ich noch 20 von 24 richtig.

Die Verleihung fühlte sich mit Billy Crystal wie aus den 90s eingeflogen an.

Recht zäh und stets an der Grenze zur Langweiligkeit.

Im Titelrennen einigte man sich unter den Frontrunnern “Hugo” (11 Nomins) und “The Artist” (10 Nomins) auf ein Unentschieden mit je 5 Goldstatuen. Insgesamt ist natürlich “The Artist” der gefühlte Sieger der Oscarnacht durch viele Erfolge in den Hauptkategorien. Geht man allerdings von den geläufigen Kristallkugeln aus, hat “Hugo” weit mehr eingefahren als erwartet und teilt sich überraschend mit “The Artist” die meisten Oscars (Wenn auch “nur” durch die Nebenkategorin).

Insgesamt gestaltete sich der Abend wie folgt:

Beste Hauptdarstellerin: Meryl Streep. Also doch.

Beste Kamera: BIG “Hugo” Upset. Die Kamera im “Tree of Life” wäre einfach der verdiente Gewinner diese Jahr gewesen.

Bester Schnitt: The Girl mit dem Dragon Tattoo hatte ich komplett nicht auf der Rechnung.

Bester Dokumentarfilm: Bis auf “Undefeated” hatte ich alle Dokus gesehen, von daher weiss ich nicht ob verdient oder nicht.

Beste visuelle Effekte: Die Statistik lügt so gut wie nie. Kein Oscar für Filme (Mein Tipp: Affenplanet) ohne parallele Nominierung in “Bester Film”. Glückwunsch an die Jungs von Pixomondo für “Hugo”. Und damit meine ich Enrico und Kai! Yay.

Bester Dokumentar-Kurzfilm: Zwischen “Saving Face” und “The Tsunami and the Cherry Blossom” stand es im Vorfeld 50-50. Meine 50 waren falsch.

Bester Kurzfilm: “The Shore”, Buchmachers Favorite. Trotzdem immer noch der Meinung, dass “Tuba Atlantic” der sinnigere Sieger gewesen wäre.

Die Nominierungen für die 84. Oscarverleihung sind raus. Die größte Überraschung gab es wohl in der Animationsfilmkategorie, in der vermeintliche Schwergewichte wie “The Adventures of Tintin” und “Arthur Christmas” außen vor blieben. Das würde somit bereits jetzt sehr gut für “Rango aussehen.

Ebenso fielen die Nominierungen für “Extremely Loud and Incredible Close” und “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” in verschiedenen Kategorien auf, das war auch nicht unbedingt zu erwarten.

Erwartungsgemäß unterrepräsentiert ist “Drive” und “We need to Talk About Kevin”. Ich prangere das an.

Wird gewinnen: Jean Dujardin, der auf der Zielgeraden George Clooney überholt hat, aber dennoch keinen allzu großen Sicherheitabstand auf Herrn Clooney hat. Es bleibt spannend.

Kann gewinnen: George Clooney, einst klarer Favorit, dürfte es schwer haben gegen das Momentum von Dujardin anzukommen

Sollte gewinnen: Brad Pitt, vor Wochen als Frontrunner gehandelt, hätte einen Sieg für eine sehr genehme Performance in “Moneyball” durchaus verdient.

Wird gewinnen:  Viola Davis sollte sich relativ sicher fühlen…

Kann gewinnen:  …wenn da nicht Meryl Streep wäre, die man bein den Oscars immer auf dem Zettel haben muss. Eine Aussenseiterchance dürfte ebenso Michelle Williams haben.

Sollte gewinnen: Tilda Swinton (We Need to Talk About Kevin) oder Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) haben leider keine Nominierungen abbekommen, trotz starker Performances in starken Filmen. Die Leistungen der oben genannten Damen ist zwar nicht schlecht, tragen aber mit “The Help” und “Zhe Iron Lady” mehr als durchwachsene Filme im Gepäck.
