Hello,

I recently sold some of my websites to a buyer through a forum. I transferred the domain name to him. but there was some delay. I transferred all the files to him. Then I gave him the epp code to transfer the domain. He did not do as the hosting guys told and then he initiated charge back through credit card. I was out of station when he filed a paypal dispute.

Now I accepted his payment into one of my non-verified paypal ID as I was a bit afraid of scammers. There is no money in my alternate account. the charge back is in process. Will I loose the money which I transfered to my main account? I transferd the money from the main account to my bank account. My main account is verified.

Do I have to worry about the fraudulant charge back?

I have a storry to tell with MoneyBookers

I will tell you all what the problem about MoneyBookers is.

They seem to be an english company, however their support resides all over the world. Especially in those countries with very little vowels in the name or their citizen's names.

Let me tell you a little story:

Here I am, minding my own business which is my eKonvert.com eCurrency exchange market with thousands of succesfull and GREAT exchanges so far (not looking for prize), and of course there were times when I was trying to accept Moneybookers as well.

Now... the business took off in less than 15 days due to the rapid and pro-efficient support that I'm providing and the transparency of my business.
OF COURSE since MoneyBookers does not SEEM TO BE a transparent business, they just came up one day and locked my account up.

MoneyBookers locked my account up WITH $692 USD in it. Which were my CLIENT'S money. NOT MINE.

Now it so appears, that I haven't been reading their terms and conditions (of course that are being changed at any time without prior notice at MoneyBookers' sole discretion, etc etc etc) at point 12.2 where they said that they do not support the e-currency exchange services.

INTERESTING -says I-... They DO accept GAMBLING though...

But the HUGE problem was that I could NOT get my funds for the past ONE WEEK, and can STILL not get my funds NOW. Since my account is STILL locked.

Now... I sent them valid scanned copies of my business incorporation certificate, of my identification documents, even BANK statements, etc etc, so on and so forth and it has now been over 1 week since my account is on a LOCKED status.

Even MORE than that they just TOOK THE LIBERTY of charging my account with a $70 USD TAX for "REPAIRS".

Mind you -dear reader- WHAT was there to REPAIR ?

Anyway... as frustrated as I got for that fee and for my money being locked up in there, I decided to just let it go and play along. So I sent them even MORE documents, placed about $1000 PHONE calls to their "support departament" that could ONLY find my emails and my uploaded documents when I called them. They have those online support ticketing systems... however I think nobody is checking those out for ages. You have to CALL to TELL them you actually DID SEND in the required documents.

And plus, NONE of their support personnel speaks english. Well at least they don't speak REAL english. And I'd say about 0.5% of them all REALLY know what the heck is REALLY going on in their business.

Is MONEYBOOKERS SCAM ? I DON'T KNOW.
WHAT I DO know though, is that they have literally LOCKED UP my funds, and if you ask me, FOR ALL I KNOW (and I know it sounds crazy and silly), they just locked the funds up EITHER so that they may be able to USE it and STALL while they get more interest on it, EITHER BECAUSE THEY JUST CAN.

Whatever the REAL REASON IS, I DON'T CARE!!!
ALL I care about is my customer's money that I HAVE to pay back and that I WILL most probably end-up paying myself since it'll probably be TOO LATE and will probably end up with too LESS funds to withdraw when MoneyBookers decides to let my funds free.

Here's some communication with them over the past week. They've been asking me to remove any reference to moneybookers.com from my website
And I told them that:
1) ON THE PHONE,
2) In SEVERAL EMAILS
3) IN THEIR SUPPORT TICKETS AREA

And here's what they have just replied just hours ago after I told them I did that and REALLY DID DO THAT:

  Quote:
Further to our conversation over the phone we would like to kindly inform you that unfortunately you will not be able to use your Moneybookers account for business purposes. For additional information regarding the reasons for this decision please refer to point 12.2 from our ‘Terms and Conditions’.

Therefore, we would like to kindly ask you to remove all the links, containing Moneybookers as a payment option from your website.

As soon as you do this, please contact us back to security@moneybookers.com and the status of your Moneybookers account will be reconsidered.

We would like to kindly apologize for any possible inconveniences caused. Should you have more questions please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Best regards,
Simona

Paypal: Unlimited personal liability after verifying?

Hi,
I've have had paypal account for several years without problems.
Recently, I verified it to speed up payment handling.
However, I've discovered that by verifying it I've removed the previous credit limit (about 100$ - ideal for my purposes) and it doesn't seem possible to restore this or set a different limit.
So now, if someone breaks into my account they can buy whatever they like (e.g. small learjet) ane I'm liable.
This seems like a huge risk to me so I'm thinking of closing the account.

Is my understanding correct (then I can't understand why anyone would verify their paypal account) or am I missing something?
Many thanks,
Tom
