All you need is a barf bag and a little ingenuity to be the coolest kid in coach

Who needs in-flight movies when you already have all your “must-see” movies loaded up on your iPhone? But nobody wants to have to hold up their iPhone all the way through a long-haul trans oceanic flight. So what do you do? Simply reach for the airsick bag and make a few clever alterations [via Random Good Stuff]

Who doesn’t like free stuff for your gadgets. Here I will show you how to turn a barf bag into an iPhone or iPod Touch holder.

It’s simple and easy and I especially love the fact that you can change the viewing angle by adjusting the fold (see pic)

A big thank you to Hodenmumps who made this post possible.

Still, as clever as this little life hack might be — the screen is still way smaller than the in-flight entertainment screen on most new planes.

The iPhone battery life won’t make it all the way across the Pacific (hell, I’m not sure it will make it all the way through The Godfather).

And there is always the chance that you might rip into an airsick bag that isn’t quite as fresh as it should be. So stop trying to be a smarty pants traveller, and just be a smart one: put the iPhone away, recline your seat and just re-watch your favorite movie from last summer.

Because, as David Lynch points out, you’ll never truly experience a film on your iPhone : ““It’s such a sadness that you think you’ve seen a film on your fucking telephone. Get real!”

On average we are each carrying more than 5kg of hardware on holiday.

Mobile electronics have triggered a flood in demand for clothing and accessories compatible with popular digital devices. The reason is obvious: on-the-go professionals carry as much as 10 pounds (5kg) of tech tools: [via Ubercool]

Women now carry bigger handbags, the fastest-growing leather accessories category. And those big, expandable bags are getting wheels so consumers can carry yet more stuff. In May, the Travel Goods Association announced another record sales year, with U.S. consumers spending a record $22.2 billion in 2007 on luggage, backpacks, travel/sports bags, business cases/computer bags, handbags, personal leather goods and travel accessories, largely fueled by our growing digital arsenal.

Of course, there’s no reason that your bag can’t help out. Perhaps you could leave all those power adapters at home and get a solar-powered handbag [via geek.com]

Here is something handy for you gadget geek girls on the go. When you are out and about during the day, never worry about running out of power for your mobile phone or iPod again thanks to the Willow solar powered handbag from Noon Solar.

This nifty little handbag is made from Bavarian cowhide leather with antique brass hardware, hand dyed hemp/cotton fabric, a hemp cotton lining and sports a 12-inch by 12-inch flexible solar panel on the side. Gadgets connect to the solar panel via the cable hidden away in the inside pocket using the USB or iPod cables included with the handbag. It also comes in either chocolate or steel colors.

How about you? Are you planning any trips this summer? Are you taking your technology with you? Laptops, mobiles, powercords, etc.? How many kilos do you think is acceptable?

Go for a run, attend an aerobics class, do anything, just get moving — kinetic energy can recharged your mobile.

Mobile phone operator Orange has teamed up with GotWind, a firm specializing in renewable energy, to produce a recharger powered by dance energy alone [via Reuters]

The portable kinetic energy chargers will be given a test run at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, the world’s biggest greenfield music and arts celebration that begins on a farm in Somerset on Friday.

Orange said the prototype chargers weigh the same as a phone and are about the size of a pack of cards.

Attached to the user’s arm, they employ a system of weights and magnets which provide an electric current to top up charge in a storage battery. This can then later be used to recharge the phone.

Perhaps the ultimate travel adapter is one that plugs into you.

Triumph Builds Phone Charger into Bra

Triumph International Japan, a lingerie manufacturer, has developing new ways to connect their products to mobile device. Their solution: The Pholotvoltaic-Powered Bra.

Launched last week, the concept bra isn’t intended for retail. Triumph International Japan concedes the bra will not become popular in its current form, as outer clothing renders its solar panel ineffective.

“People usually cannot go outside without wearing clothes over it,” said Yoshiko Masuda of Triumph.

But we commend the effort. Triumph is getting people to think differently about wearable technology
