I still don't like the Chargers since they moved to LA. It was all about money and they proved it did not make any difference whether they were in LA or San Diego The Chargers will be the Chargers. Still can't BUY a championship.

I do miss the great Tailgate Parties we use to have a B3 in the parking lot of Jack Murphy Stadium.

And don't get me started on Killing the Charger Girls.

I see more times that the Radio and TV people say San Diego Chargers instead of LA Chargers. You never here them say St. Louis RAMS.. They had no problem calling the Raiders - the Las Vegas Raiders or the Oakland or LA Raiders.

Well it is GONE NOW... The Murph or the Q or SDCCU or Mission Valley Stadium..

50 years and it is NO MORE.. Thanks Chargers - Spanos or spell it Ass_ole for taking away a great place and a great team. A way to bring the city together for a Sunday or Monday.. and to make friends and met fans from other city's.. ALL Gone.. SDSU is doing a great job at Wiping Out all signs of what was once a place of worship to some and a place to do many things to others.. Concerts, baseball in the day, soccer , Monster Truck, Motorcross and drag races in the parking lot. Let's hope the new place will bring some of those back to the valley and we can start a new generation of memories soon.

I went by the old stadium last weekend and saw that half the parking lot was now a Big Hole in the ground. Everything West of the Stadium is dirt and under construction for the NEW Home of the Aztec. The Parking Section B3 is still as it was for all those years for right now at least. But I am sure that will be all gone soon as well. With the SDSU taking over the property and the Stadium will be coming down soon the rest of the property will be used for other things as well. So Say Goodbye to the OLD B3 Section and the end of the B3 Gang.. The Section and gang of people will all be missed. I am sure that the new place will be very nice but they won't have the giant parking lot and I am sure there won't be a Section B3..

The Raiders, who once called Los Angeles home, are leaving Oakland for Las Vegas in 2020. And even though Los Angeles went from no NFL teams to two in the last 18 months, Raiders owner Mark Davis remains convinced that the Raiders, currently situated 370 miles north, have already won the Fight for L.A. over the hometown Rams and Chargers.
"You know, it's kind of funny," Davis told the Los Angeles Daily News' Vincent Bonsignore. "They're talking about the fight for Los Angeles. And Raiders fans have been telling me we already won that fight, and that the Rams and Chargers are fighting for the No. 2 and 3 spots."
The Raiders were in the mix to relocate to Los Angeles as late as January 2016, joining forces with the rival Chargers' bid to build a stadium in Carson, but NFL owners, in a secret ballot, approved Stan Kroenke's Englewood stadium complex instead. That vote paved the way for the Rams' move to Los Angeles before last season and the Chargers move north from San Diego for 2017. Both teams are expected to move into Kroenke's massive stadium complex before the 2019 season.
The Raiders, however, which called L.A. home from 1982-1994, remain wildly popular in the area.

"A good portion have come from Los Angeles and Southern California," Davis explained, "Without stepping on any toes, we're going to market ourselves in Los Angeles area. And San Diego. We're reaching out to Raider Nation in Southern California. It's strong there."
A laughing Davis added: "I think we already won that battle."
And while Davis' future is in the Nevada desert, for now he has one focus.
"Right now we're the Oakland Raiders," he said. "And we're going to represent the city of Oakland and try to bring a championship here. ...

"Obviously there's some very, very passionate fans that still believe we should stay here and I don't begrudge them from feeling that. They're passionate fans, and they believe the Raiders should stay in Oakland. I understand that. But we had to do what was best for the franchise."
How good can this team be? More bets have been placed on the Raiders to win Super Bowl LII than any other NFL team at sportsbooks around Vegas. By comparison, the Chargers and Rams have some of the worst odds in the league to bring home the Lombardi Trophy.

So Sunday 8/13/17 was the start of the LA Chargers and they are trying to Fight For LA and still draw in the OLD San Diego fans as well.

With CBS showing the game on TV with a bunch of the old Players who Sold Out to the Chargers Owners for what I hope was BIG BUCK...$$$$$$ Besides LT and Hardwick, they got Dan Foutes as well to go over to the Dark Side..

I was pleased to see that they could not fill the VERY Small StubHub for the first game. I know people will say it was only a Pre -Season game and no one goes to Pre-Season games?? Well there were always more than 25K at the Q...?? So where are all the LA Fans.. And I really would like to how many SD fans made the drive, even though they said many times on the broadcast that a lot of fans made the drive up "Happily" Really??

Also just the little bite I did watch the game, Dan said SD Chargers twice and 1 player said SD Charger as well a an NFL Network guy said SD Chargers..

The real reason I am posting this is because I want to Black list the SD Companies that supported the broadcast the Pre-Season Games and if they show the Regular Season games.

We here at Shutdown Corner deemed Rivers a winner because of the supporting cast the Chargers added for him, including Clemson receiver Mike Williams, Western Kentucky guard Forrest Lamp, and Indiana guard Dan Feeney. Those players will give Rivers both protection and offensive options.

What they won’t do is take years off Rivers’ driver’s license. He’s 35 now, he’ll be 36 in December, and that’s the point at which teams need to start thinking succession plan. But for the fourth straight year, the Chargers didn’t draft a quarterback. And that’s starting to raise a few questions about who’s the next top dog for the Chargers.

The San Diego Chargers has been a part of America's Finest City for 56 years. After the Spanos Family has burned bridge after bridge - between his business and the city, the fans, his coaches, his players, or his staff, he finally has decided to leave town and move to LA. Good riddance. It is agreed by San Diegans and Charger fans that Spanos is no longer welcome in San Diego, however, the San Diego Chargers have a very rich history of records and intellectual property that belong to the city.

The Chargers brand belongs in San Diego, just like the Browns belong in Cleveland. Dean Spanos should be free to move his team and his business to LA, but he should NOT be allowed to take our history and all the goes along with being a Charger and Fan with him. The Chargers name should stay and belong to San Diego should we ever form another team and Dean Spanos should be forced to find a new team name in LA.

The END of the San Diego Charger's - Tailgate Parties

With the End of the 2016-2017 NFL Football Season and the Charger's moving to LA. There will be NO MORE Charger Games here in San Diego. So the B3 Gang will not have anyplace to go and watch their OLD Team anymore. Most the group has moved on with the decision of the team to move to LA and have Stopped Being a FAN on the Charger's now that they are in LA. This group has supported the team for most of the years it has been here in San Diego. They have given the team untold Thousands of dollars in Ticket Sales and Parking and Shirts, Hats, Jersey's and collectables. All of which was for nothing NOW.. It was for just the memories of what was and what will never be again.. Even if the City finds someway of getting another team (NOT THE RAIDERS) it will never be the same. So I will NOT be supporting the LA Chargers in anyway for today forward, I will never give them a dime of my money or any of my FAN Support. I will remember the GREAT Chargers from the past, ONLY if they are called SD Chargers.

I hope as a group we can stay together and enjoy the Game of Football and maybe come to support a new team someday. But some will not and some will Go To The Darkside and still cheer for them.. (Sorry to hear that) I have boxed up all my Charger Gear and it will stay boxed up. I still am not sure what I will do with it but I just can't look at it anymore..

The Season is over and it is a very sad day for the B3 Gang and the San Diego Charger Fan.

Well it happened, the owners, the city and the NFL have all decided that San Diego doesn't deserve a team anymore. The Fans are left with a Giant Hole in their soul. Some will follow, some will care a little when they win, but most will NOT CARE anymore. The Spanos family ( Don't think they are a family anymore) says they need top protect a 15% fan base in LA, but at the same time they are losing 85% of the loyal fans for 55 years who have supported the team and their family. I don't understand what they are thinking about or how they think they can make more money in LA??? It is beyond me what they are thinking. I know some of it was political and a lot of it was Big Egos... But in the end the True San Diego Charger Fans are the ones that got hurt and the City. The team did get some great deals playing at the Q, and the city wined that it was costly, but you always saw the fans come into town to see their team and spend money here. I know a lot of Charger fans traveled here to see the games as well, but won't go to LA to watch them now. The NFL always wanted to come back here for a Super Bowl, I heard many times that if they could play them all here they would.. But in the end we the true fans get left with memories and all the crap we bought or saved over the years.. Remember the great games , the great players and the great times we had at the games and with our friends and other fans.. But the LA Chargers will not be part of my future or may family..

The Chargers will ask San Diego voters in November to raise taxes on hotel stays to 16.5 percent from today’s 12.5 percent rate to help build a $1.8 billion hybrid stadium and convention center next to Petco Park downtown, said sources close to the team’s negotiations with lawyers, bankers and the hotel industry.

Paying for the project would fall solely upon hotel guests, the Chargers and the National Football League, unlike previous proposals that tapped general taxpayer funds for part of the financing.

“The city’s full faith and credit is not put at risk,” a source said Tuesday. A spokesman for Mayor Kevin Faulconer said he wouldn’t comment until the plan was released publicly.

At 16.5 percent, San Diego’s tax on hotel stays contemplated by the initiative would become one of the nation’s highest. Among regional competitors, Anaheim adds 17 percent to room rates, while San Francisco's tax is as high as 16.25 percent.

Chargers to Focus Efforts on Downtown San Diego

STATEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE SAN DIEGO CHARGERS
February 23, 2016

We have spent the last month evaluating the leading San Diego stadium sites and financing proposals. During that time, led by Chargers Special Advisor Fred Maas, we have engaged in regular discussions with Mayor Faulconer, Supervisor Roberts, City Attorney Goldsmith, and City and County negotiators. And we have carefully evaluated the arguments made by the Mayor and others regarding the merits of the Mission Valley site. We agree that, in many respects, the arguments for Mission Valley are compelling.

At the same time, we have considered the potential benefits to both the greater San Diego region and the Chargers of a multi-use stadium/convention center facility downtown. The multi-use facility, when combined with Petco Park, the existing Convention Center, the Gaslamp Quarter, and a revitalized East Village, would create an unparalleled entertainment and sports district that will host Super Bowls and will ideally be a permanent home for Comic-Con and a Comic-Con museum. All of our research demonstrates that voters are more likely to approve a multi-use facility that would generate economic activity on hundreds of days per year, including by attracting major sporting and convention events that San Diego cannot now host. The downtown multi-use facility would also free up the existing Mission Valley site for potential use by educational institutions such as San Diego State and UCSD, as well as for a large riverfront park.

For these reasons, the Chargers will begin collaborating immediately with the existing diverse citizens’ coalition led by Donna Frye and JMI Realty that has already been formed in favor of a downtown convention center expansion and educational and recreational uses in Mission Valley. Our goal is to win voter approval in November 2016 for a downtown multi-use stadium/convention center facility and to facilitate the best possible community uses for the existing Mission Valley site. We will deliver regular reports to our fans and to the community about the progress we are making.

We believe that a downtown multi-use facility will attract broad support from throughout our entire community. And we hope that, as our downtown proposal is developed and as the campaign for passage begins, those who have supported the Mission Valley site will keep an open mind and consider supporting what we believe is the best way to secure a permanent home for the Chargers in San Diego.

We are very grateful for all of the hard work that Mayor Faulconer, Supervisor Roberts and City Attorney Goldsmith have done on behalf of the City and County over the past few weeks and look forward to maintaining a dialogue as our plans move forward.
