Our prayer for 2012 is that each one of our church members realize their role in winning souls to Jesus Christ. Not only has Jesus given us the command to “…Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature”, but He has also promised us the power to do such a great task (Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.).

Let’s all do our best to win souls to Jesus Christ in 2012.

Let’s be faithful to Church attendance.

Mission Conference 2011

What a great Mission Conference! Brother Steve Grubbs from Cleveland, TN was our guest speaker. Brother Grubbs and his wife Ruth were such a blessing to our church. Brother Grubbs is the founder of Shenandoah Ministries that provide help for troubled teens and troubled families. Our other guests included Missionary John Jobe who serves the Lord in Ipswitch, England, and also Daniel Brown and family who are raising support to go to the Principality of Leichtenstein. Our prayer is that we as a church will increase our efforts to get the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth.

Food Pantry

Sometimes a box of groceries can be a tremendous help to a hurting family. We have found over the years that we can be of help to struglling families by providing a box of groceries at a critical times in their lives. Therefore, we have a small food pantry supplied with donated food stuffs from our congregation. If you are in need of food, please give us a call at 734-282-4626.

End of Summer Revival

Evangelist, Dr. John Hamblin preached each night August 29th through Wednesday, August 31st. Dr. Hamlbin has been faithfully preaching in Evanglelism for over 31 years. We were challenged and encouraged by the Spirit-filled preaching of Dr. John Hamblin.

Vacation Bible School

VBS was a great success! Child Evangelist, Jay Cooper, was our guest teacher again this year. Our Youth Pastor, Brother Steven Jones worked with Brother Cooper as they taught lessons from the Book of Acts. We had great week seeing 40 children trusting Christ as their Savior.

Sword of the Lord Conference

Dr. Shelton Smith and Dr. John Hamlbin were here for our Sword of the Lord Conference on Revival and Soul-Winning. Dr. Smith was with us Sunday - Tuesday and Dr. Hamblin, Monday - Wednesday. Although the weather was rough, our crowds were good. We had 12 area preachers attend along with many visitors. And best of all, we saw one saved, another baptized, and three join the church. There were many who signed up for subscriptions for the Sword fo the Lord.

Pray for 2012 “Behold the Lamb”

Although we did not present our Easter Play this year (2011), we desire to present it in 2012. We have seen hundreds of souls saved through the ministry of our Easter Play. Please pray with us concerning the play for next year. Pray that our work schedules will be accomodating, and for good health and strength for our cast members for 2012.

Men’s Wild Game Dinner

We had a great time of food and fellowship. We had delicious dishes made from Black Bear, Rabbit, Venison, Pheasant, Barracuda, and several other game and fish. Pastor Ron Lucas (Faith Baptist Church of Standish, MI) was our guest speaker. We had many pictures and trophies of successful hunts or catches. We look forward to next year’s fellowship.

Christmas Services

December 19th was the day for our Sunday School Children’s Christmas Program. The children recied verses and sang Christmas Carols during our 10:00 a.m. Sunday School Hour.

Our Church Choir, under the direction of Greg Taylor, presented the Cantata, “O Holy Night” in the 6:30 p.m. service on December 19th.

We had a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 24, which was well attended.

Christmas was a special time here at Charity Baptist Church.

Missionary Conference

God has given us (His church) the responsibility to evangelize the world. The Lord has allowed Charity Baptist Church to help in the support of many missionaries, but there is still much work to be done. There are still people in this world who have never heard the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Some still do not have a Bible printed in their own language. We must reach them while we can. What are you doing to get the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth? Our Annual Mission Conference takes place each year in October. We were stirred by the preaching of Brother Steve Grubbs, and by the testimonies and reports by our missionaries at this year’s conference.
