Cherry Cheesecake Bites Recipe ~

Wanted to share this easy pleasey recipe with all my Cheese Cake lovers out there. They make a sweet treat for those romantic evenings of cuddling!

Cherry Cheesecake Bites

(Try this with strawberries too)!

1 block of Cream Cheese

1 cup powdered sugar

Fresh cherries or strawberries

Graham crackers

-Blend softened cream cheese and powdered sugar.
-Grind your graham crackers (Manual Food Processor to the rescue!)
-Dip your berries in the cream cheese mixture and then into the graham crackers.

Yummy!

E is for Emergency Kit ~ Charene's Way

E is for Emergency Kit...Charlene's style, that is. We've all heard of an emergency kit, especially with so much going on in the world today. We need to be prepared. But what about those times when it's not due to an earthquake or food/water shortage but for when we face a heartache or stressful day? (Or two or three...)

I'm gonna share what's in mine today because, well, sometimes I need them and sometimes you might too. *wink*

Grab your Emergency Survival Kit and plop down in the middle of your room.

The #1 absolute must in your kit is Chocolate!!

KISSES? Well, of course, KISSES!

A cuddly Teddy Bear is a must. Ya need to cuddle. Bury your face in him. He won't mind. *smile*

We all need something sweet, and Juicy Fruit doesn't mind the heartless chomping.

And speaking of chomping, if you really need dramatic sound to go along with it, Chester 's got it!

Once you've got the chomp out of your system, grab the cell phone. Call a BFF. They'll let you cry or scream or insist on coming over too share in the following steps.

It's gotta be the Double Stuff. Just gotta.

And who can do without the Reese's PB cups? I like the bite sized, but if you can fit a whole big one in your mouth, all the better!

But at then end of it all, take a deep breath and reach for your favorite book. It doesn't matter how many times you've read it. Get it, flop down on your bed or snuggle with Mr. Teddy by the fire and escape into another world through your book. Reach for another Oreo, or KISS, or Reese's, or gum. (The Cheetos tend to get cheese on the pages and the chocolate bar will be long gone by now.)

And there you have it. Prepare. Enjoy. And may Charlene's Emergency Kit rescue you from a devastating disaster.

C is for Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

Oh my, do I have a treat for you today! I don't think there's a diet alive that can survive this one...

(Remember Charlene Blogs is holding a sweet giveaway during the A-Z Challenge, so once you're done drooling and copying the recipe, be sure to enter!)

Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

Ingredients:

for the Pancakes:
4 cups all-purpose flour
8 tsps baking powder
2 tsp. salt
4 cups milk
4 tbsps vegetable oil
4 large eggs, lightly beaten

for the Cinnamon Filling
1 cup butter, melted
1 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp ground cinnamon

for the Cream Cheese Glaze
1/2 cup butter
4 oz. cream cheese
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

To make the Cinnamon Filling:
Mix the three ingredients together. Place in a disposable piping bag and snip the end off or put in a Ziploc bag and snip the corner off.

To make the Pancakes:
Mix the dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet ingredients in another bowl. Stir them together until everything is moistened leaving a few lumps.

Heat your griddle to exactly 325 degrees. You don't want these too cook too quickly, and you won't want your cinnamon to burn.

Make desired size pancake on greased griddle and then using the piping bag and starting at the center of the pancake, create a cinnamon swirl. Wait until the pancake has lots of bubble before you try to turn it. You will find that when you turn it the cinnamon swirl will melt. The cinnamon will melt out and create the craters which the cream cheese glaze will fill.

To make the Cream Cheese Glaze:
In a microwave safe bowl melt the butter and cream cheese and then stir together. Whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla. Add a little milk if needed to make
it a glaze consistency.

Place pancake on plate, then cover with cream cheese glaze.

B is for Blooms

B is for Blooms and I have some beautiful ones to share today.

While I can't grow a flowering plant to save my life, I just adore the gorgeous colors, shapes, and aromas. They're so romantic. My whole body sighs and I melt against them, brushing my cheek along the magical surfaces to feel the gentle caresses. Then I cave and succumb to burying my nose in the pedals.

The closest ones to survive under my care have been...

The Azaleas I have in my Kitchen window
(a real shocker there! They keep blooms all year round.)

Honeysuckle that make up our yard's hedge

(yes I'm going to count this)

the flowering pear tree in our yard. *big smile*

But I would love to be able to grow orchids!

Chronicles Announcement ~ The Good And The Bad

A lot has been going on behind the scenes in regard to my Cornerstone Deep books over the last couple months, and I have some bad news. But, it’s followed by some really fantastic news!

No Longer
Available for Download!

Rights to the Chronicles of Shilo Manor series have been reverted to me, so Cornerstone Deep and Cornerstone Deep Echoes are temporary unavailable for purchase right now. You'll notice they aren't displayed on my sidebar anymore.

It’s a bit awkward, as the Chronicles Anniversary tour is still going on and getting some amazing reviews. That’s where the timing of this clashes so badly. The tour was set up months ago, before my decision to pull CD and CD Echoes was made. The grand prizes of 2 signed paperbacks have suddenly become grand prizes of 2 Signed First Edition Collector’s Items!

But, this clears the way for bigger and better things to come. An all new 2nd edition of book one in the new Cornerstone Deep series, titled Unsigh, will be available on July 1^st 2012. Cover art is in the works and edits are underway!

There will be changes to the look of my Facebook Fan Page as well, so check in often for sneak peeks and updates on what's going on.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we iron out the wrinkles over the next few weeks. I hope you will join me in July for the relaunch! I know you'll love the new Cornerstone Deep Unsigh!
