The world could be different if ALL the CEOs will be creative people and designers. Design is not only about creating a logo, or creating a nice graphics for your t-shirt – it goes way beyond that – Creativity is something that not everybody have but everybody should look for or at least try and learn to developed that skill. When you own a company you have to design everything;
the experience of your employees working for your company
the experience of your clients buying your products or services
the way your employees interact with you and between them
the environment where you plan to developed and spend your 40+ hours per week to create, produce and meet, which are more hours that you will spend on a weekly basis at home.
and so forth and so on,,

if a CEO doesn’t understand today that this is one of the most important factors why new and old companies don’t last – take for a fact that it will not make it in today’s competitive world.

I’ve been working lately for a few new clients (I can’t disclose names) and it’s sad that one of the companies that I’ve been creating new things , new designs and try to plan new structures to create a better user experience for their clients and even for the internal users (admin people) the President of the company – the CEO of the company does’t understand process, designs, wireframes, mockups, structures, er-diagrams, development process and you are “hired” with your team just to create – not what the product or service needs to have to be in the BIG LEAGUES but what the President/CEO wants which is not the same!, or your do what the products needs to be successful or you do what the President/CEO (which is more lost than Santa in May) as you to do! By the way, did I mention than this companies normally have products or services online, huge database of clients but lack of management and leadership to a point that non of the employees cares about the future of the company – company that give them the check to live today! It’s incredible.

You need to be creative, you need to be a designer in your field, you always need to innovate.
Provide to your employees good space of work, liberty and freedom to think out of the box. Don’t be afraid of changes – changes are good. Don’t give me the crap of If it’s not broken why fix it that is so mediocre so poor. You cannot think like that today. Technology is advancing – going forward – no backwards – softwares are constantly changing for a better not for the worst. The world is getting more connected and you need to make things right. Don’t just charge your customers because you want to make a few more bucks! if you think like that – your company won’t last.

Be challenging, be innovative, be creative, be collaborator, be careful, be a team player. Providing leadership is not closing the doors of your office, is opening the doors and be part of the solutions, don’t just bring more problems!

Are you ready to change? are you ready to be different?
Start creating, start designing, start be more loyal to you, to your clients and your team. Be truthful! Be creative, be a designer.

So, I’ve heard this….. there are people that CAN’T and there are those that CAN – those that do – that make things happened. This is how Scott Schlesinger starts this past Saturday June 09, 2012 his Spinning® ride – KONA.

For those that don’t know what KONA is let me explain you in “baby language”; is the SUPERBOWL of the IRONMAN event in the world. The sunny Kona District stretches for about 60 miles from Kona International Airport to beyond Kealakekua Bay on Hawaii Island’s lava-lined western coast.

This IRONMAN event is 2.4 miles swim / 112 mile bike / 26.2 mile run. (In this sports category is the only one where “non-pros” get the chance to participate with the pro’s. As you can tell, you cannot play the NBA if you are not part of the Pro league, same in Soccer, same in Football and so forth).

Scott taught us about this IRONMAN and brought to live this event on a Spinning® bike. You could feel the sensations and emotions of each one of these ironman participants in your skin. I could even tell you that you felt the pain and the energy behind this incredible ride.

The visuals and the way Scott starts this class was very important because in the first 5 minutes that you listen and understand what this ride is all about it gives you the power to engage mentally and physically to the ride.

I cannot tell you how spectacular was this class, anything that I could say, anything that I could explain is not even 1% of what you truly feel once you are sitting on the bike following this guy with his coaching that is by all means over the top.

I got the opportunity to be sitting right in front of Scott and I turn myself around a few times to see the people faces and you can see everyone’s gestures (in different moments) smiling, serious, concentrated and a few times people crying with all the emotions coming from the bottom of there heart.

This is what we call in “my field” a great USER EXPERIENCE DESIGN – the way you teach, the way you communicate and how you address and create emotions in someone else, the way you make your audience engaged by the experience you bring to them. It doesn’t matter if the experience is digital or sitting on a bike, is a matter of the design and innovation that you create and this is something Scott Schlesinger knows how to do it very well.

There are a few people out there that like’s lately my post about Spinning® and they ask me why don’t you turn into an evangelist for Madd Dogg (The company that owns Spinning®)? First of all, Madd Dogg Athletics hasn’t proposed anything to me neither do I to them. Nevertheless, without having any type of “formal relation” with Madd Dogg I cannot stop writing about this beautiful and engaging sport. See, people think that Spinning® is all about sweat, commercial music, and in a few minds a “chics sport”. Spinning® goes beyond that. To me is a mix between a great coaching class and the best -exercise- road bike you’ve ever have. It’s like a power “Anthony Robbins event” with a lot of cardio exercise!

Getting on a class with Scott Schlesinger, Josh Taylor, Sarah Morelli, Sandro Morelli, Eva Garcia, Robbi Ambrosini and any of these Master Instructors is like powering your self for days after you get to one of their classes, not only you feel strong physically but also mentally.

This KONA ride tells you that when you think you’ve had a bad day or “incredible problems” you think again when you see the people competing in this event. Some of them handicap, some of them old, some very young but at the end of the day all of them humans with a positive attitude and commitment that makes them special and this is how you start feeling as you continue pedaling in the class – strong – special – unique – human!.

For the Pro’s (not even 5% of all the people that is participating in this event) is about who’s getting first to the finish line and you have to learn A LOT before you get into that level but for everyone else is about FINISHING – it’s about your decisions – it’s about your commitment to you – it’s about you. Spinning® teaches you that there is nothing you cannot do, is all about your willingness and your courage.

If you ever have the opportunity to spin with any of these incredible people you will understand my words and will become addicted to Spinning® like me. For people that suffer depressions, people that doesn’t “find” what life is all about, people that don’t believe in the power of the word (don’t get me wrong, there is no religion here involve whatsoever, but what I mean with this is the power of a great coaching), people that are looking for a purpose in life in general, people that want to feel more human, this sport will be the best ever happened to you, it will give you a lot to re-think and will reset your brains in a positive way. You will feel more confident, and stronger, you will feel more human but you need to understand how it works and the only way to do that is by trying.

The Spinning® program is great for all levels and anyone should start younger – saying this – Did I mention to you that I met a guy at WSSC at age 82 riding a bike like a pro?? Amazing, true inspiration fro anyone.

I could not tell you the excitement that I have thinking about this day – I’ve been training with passion and dedication at 360 Energy in Motion to have the best physical strength so I can make it the 4 days with all the sessions that I chose.

Thursday May 31^st at 5pm the event starts with Josh Taylor’s ride CHAMPION – an incredible 2 hours ride in the main Grand Ballroom at The intercontinental Hotel. About 300 spinners line up waiting to get a nice spot since 2pm (I was one of them in the line since 2:30pm). Mid of a sudden you see Josh getting in the room with his new painted bike and your heart keeps pumping harder thinking about CHAMPION the ride!

….Words are left after you sit on the bike and start riding with this BEAST and MC that takes you a to place mentally that you’ve never dream of – this guy can make you laugh, cry, getting emotional and at the same time angry in no time – his couching is fascinating and his session is over the top – couldn’t be a better way to start WSSC than with Josh ride.

For anyone of you that have never been in an event like this, I totally recommend and strongly suggest to give it a try – even dough is a place for “professional spinners” anyone can join and have the experience to ride with all this Masters Instructors from around the world – each one of them will surprise you with something different – something that you will discover “for the first time” even if you are an experienced spinner or biker – this is TOTALLY DIFFERENT – but before I continue with my story about WSSC I want to thank again and again and again to a few very special people that help me be part of this moment at WSSC and have the passion to ride – First of all Scott Schlesinger which taught me all the very first steps for SPINNING® correctly and more than that he help me understand (from the very beginning) that SPINNING® is not only a sport to sweat and loose weight is beyond that is a sport that have nutrients for your soul – a sport that can teach you how to be better in live with you and you – probably a few of you might think I’m getting a little bit cheesy – but trust me – you have to try to understand my words –Thank you Scott for everything – for your incredible rides like KONA and H2O that where exceptional!, thanks for sharing your knowledge and keep up the good spin!

Back to the WSSC, I would like to share some experience from the event and sessions that makes really a difference in at this event.

Like I said before starting with Josh Taylor and his incredible ride – CHAMPION – a ride about SCRETARIAT, and American racehorse that in 1973 became the firs U.S. Triple Crown champion in 25 years. A few of you have probably see the movie, if you have not please rent it out or buy it and watch the movie because is worth it!

Josh mixes all the emotions, feelings and experiences that SECRETARIAT lived in those years and he brings you inside the track to ride like a CHAMP!

The level of endorphins and adrenaline that you generate through the day was so intense that gets hard to sleep well with all of the emotions you get session after session, but let me tell you something – it’s worth every drop of sweat!

Everyone did an incredible job, All MI’s that I attended where terrific, nevertheless I want to share with you what was the best experience for me from all of the sessions;

Eva Garcia, MI of Barcelona did a session called PODER ABSOLUTO (absolute power); let me explain you something – As I’m still “knew” in SPINNING® I’ve never experience to ride with MI’s from Europe; well this was my first time too and it’s a completely different ride. European spinners are very tune with rhythm and cadence. Eva starts the ride with an incredible beat teaching us technicality but at the same time rhythm – Eva if you are reading this let me tell you that you where exceptional! The best way to start that morning was your class. Thanks for such an incredible playlist. Amazing, Can’t wait to visit Barcelona and ride with you again but in your place – I’ve heard that it is beyond!

Sarah Morelli; Crazy, fun and invigorating. This is the type of class that you don’t want to end!! Urban beat with a mix of House, Techno and Rap background from London makes you have the feeling of “dancing with the bike” at all times! – you feel at the best “British party ever” – you literally want to explode and add resistance as many times she ask you to! Incredible session, incredible spirit!

Sandro Morelli (yes Sarah husband), intense, by the beat and strong rides makes his sessions very unique. This family knows what they are doing, they have it very clear!

Scott Schlesinger; This guy rides are emotionally engaging, “zen” type, incredible teaching and coaching – all his classes are worth a try and you will feel to come one after another one after another one!

Robbie Ambrosini from Spain; Johnny G – old school – type, breath taking; great methodology, very explicit, incredible playlist, style and timing.

Luciana Marcial-Vincion; What can I say, never met her before, very nice person; it could be easily a “drummer” (I’m a drummer and I know that she can be a good one) by the way she can keep up with a metronome and match the rhythm to a perfect RPM. Great teaching, great humor and very interactive sessions.

Believe me when I’m telling you that this weekend was one of the best weekends so far in 2012 to me. Fully of emotions, feelings, engagements, nice music, lot’s of sweat, lot’s of new things to learn, not only about riding a bike or spin a wheel, SPINNING® is a philosophy, it’s a lifestyle, it’s a methodology that helps your body, your soul and your mind to have a better balance in your daily life. If you think that SPINNING® is only about sweat and loosing weight you might not experience a true SPINNING® program yet. Probably in your first sessions you won’t have all this “weird” things and feelings that I’m telling you about but you need to “build” your way to experience them. So what you need to do?, you need to start!. Start knowing what is SPINNING® get into a true and approved facility that can teach you well from the very beginning, get the foundations (without this you won’t go anywhere), understand the rhythms, cadence, RPM, heart rates and all those “technical” words that will make you better at riding and once you are doing great there you will understand why SPINNING® could help you grow physically and emotionally!.

I’m not a Mad Dogg Athletics employee, I don’t collect any money from them at all, people that knows me, knows that I’m a UX Designer and CEO of Green Media Agency where I make my leaving but I couldn’t end my weekend without posting and sharing this with all of you.
