How 2025 Feels Compared to the Baby Years

When I wrote 50 Things to Know Before Having a Baby, my world was centered on sleep schedules, what to put in the diaper bags, and learning the importance of my five senses. I did not expect that post to become the most visited page on this blog. The fact that it still brings readers here tells me something important. The desire for simple, clear guidance never goes away. That is why I created the 50 things to know book series, then my travel guide book series, Greater than a Tourist, Travel Like a Local, and Eat Like a Local. I was looking for simple tips and I want to give them to others.

In 2025 my daughters are fourteen and ten. Our routines look nothing like they did during those early days. I see my sister going though it and I wish I knew better ways to help them.

The shift this year has been significant. But what has stayed the same is letting them try new things, seeing them fail, and then bing super proud as they learn new skills. I spend more time driving, planning, and adjusting. Things I have not really enjoyed but I am growing as a person as I learn these new skills. I also get to become friends with their parents friends and their friends. It has been a joy to see them grow up. One of the biggest joys of my life!

Work and Creative Life in 2025

If you are wondering what I am doing now, well I am still creating books. I love working with authors around the world. Also audiobooks too. I have not published any books that I wrote recently, but I have published 80 books under CZYK Publishing this year. Since I have been doing this for 14 years now, I think I get a little better at it each year.

Charlie the Cavalier began when my children were babies. I shared small slices of life because writing helped me make sense of each new stage. Even as the content shifted, readers continued to find this space because the themes are universal. Parenting requires constant learning, no matter the year or age of your child. Desmond Hotel Malvern, a DoubleTree by Hilton Review

This is an honest review of the Desmond Hotel Malvern, a DoubleTree by Hilton, where my husband and I had the pleasure of staying for two nights. We were in town for a wedding, and our experience at the hotel was exceptional from start to finish.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the staff, who made us feel welcome and at ease. They had cookies and we are gluten free, so they gave us gluten free cookies! The check-in process was smooth and efficient, which was much appreciated after a long day of travel. The hotel's ambiance was updated but has nice touches such as wooden sliding doors and some older pieces of furniture.

Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well-appointed with all the amenities we needed to make our stay comfortable. The bed was particularly with down pillows and comforter. The bathroom was updated. It had a rain shower head with not the best water pressure.

They had free coffee in the morning in the lobby. Also a coffee maker in the room and refrigerator. The air conditioning was loud at night.

We loved how they used different rooms in the hotel for each event. Overall, our experience at the Desmond Hotel Malvern was outstanding. The combination of comfortable accommodations, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere made our stay truly memorable. We would definitely choose to stay here again and highly recommend it to others looking for a top-notch hotel experience.

I really loved the Fizz Ease for a slick back look that doesn't look too greasy. I also like that it didn't have much of a smell! What also helped was this brush. It not only was easy to brush my pony tail, it also have some smaller bristles to help make all the air go in the same direction.

The cuff was heavy on my head, and I just could not get the wave pony tail to sit right on my head. I personally don't like heavy things on there.

1. Recovery from Exercise

As someone who enjoys staying active, I’ve learned the hard way that pushing myself too hard without adequate rest leads to burnout and injury. Whether it's a Zumba class, a morning jog, or a session at the gym, our bodies need time to repair and rebuild muscles. Scheduling rest days allows our bodies to heal and prevents overuse injuries. We got to go to Kennedy Space center for the first time. We went on an excursion from our MSC cruise ship. Here are 10 tips for your first trip to Kennedy Space Center in Florida:

1. Plan Ahead: Check the Kennedy Space Center website for opening hours, and special events. The dates did change for the week that we were there.
2. Tickets: Purchase tickets online in advance to save time and avoid long lines. We bought them through the cruise line since it included transportation and we could leave quickly from the cruise ship.
3. Arrive Early: Plan to arrive early to make the most of your day and avoid crowds.
4. Visitor Complex: Start your visit at the visitor complex to explore the exhibits, attractions, and shows.
5. Bus Tour: Take the bus tour to see historic launch sites and the Apollo/Saturn V Center. You have to allot a certain amount of time for this. We did not have the time on our visit from the cruise ship but we could have if we didn't do much at the visitor center.
6. Astronaut Encounter: Check the schedule for astronaut encounters or other special presentations. We did not get to see this but we got to see them signing autographs.
7. Space Shuttle Atlantis: Don't miss the Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit, featuring the actual shuttle and interactive displays.
8. Weather: Be prepared for Florida's weather with sunscreen, hats, and umbrellas.
9. Interactive Exhibits: Explore the interactive exhibits, such as the Mars Rover and Shuttle Launch Experience.

A Swim Parents Guide to going to Districts for the first time: York, Pennsylvania Edition

Hey there swim parents. This year my daughter made Districts for the first time for winter swim. This experience was new to us and her. We both thought it was worth it in the end but here are some tips to your days easier. Are you gearing up for your first-ever swim meet at the York Swim Meet Districts in York, Pennsylvania? My daughter qualified for events for all three days. Yours may too. Each day was slightly different with different directions. We had to book our tickets early online for each day.

1. Pack the Essentials: Make sure to pack swim gear (caps, goggles, swimsuits), towels, snacks, water, chairs, and any necessary medications. We stayed at a hotel that was close to the event that our team recommended. Then the kids could get some extra together fun time.

2. Arrive Early: Plan to arrive at the meet venue at least 30 minutes before warm-ups begin. This will give you enough time to find parking, locate the pool, and get settled in.

3. Familiarize Yourself with the Schedule: Review the meet schedule in advance and make note of your child's events. This will help you plan your day and ensure you don't miss any of their races. They may run slightly early or late but it was available to watch online so we sent the link to our family an the times before it started.

4. Stay Organized: Keep track of your child's race times, heats, and lanes by writing them down or using a meet management app. This will help you stay organized and ensure you don't miss any of their races.

5. Respect other Parents: Remember that they are trying to watch their kids swim too. When you move around be mindful of them watching and recording.

6. Stay Hydrated and Fueled: Pack plenty of water and healthy snacks to keep you and your child energized throughout the day. There is a great snack stand but they don't have everything. They also earn money when you buy snacks from them.

10. Have Fun: Most importantly, remember to have fun. Swim meets are a great opportunity to cheer on your child, bond with other swim parents, and celebrate the sport of swimming.

A Mom's Guide to Low FODMAP Shopping at Wegmans in State College, PA

Over the past few years, I have been experiencing pain in my lower abdomen. We have decided some of the issues could be from bloating. I was asked to try the Low Fodmap diet. This diet can make certain people feel better. Please do your own research if you wan to know what the diet is.

This is not a lose weight diet. It is a way to restrict your eating so you can decide which foods make your body feel uncomfortable.

I recently went to Wegmans in State College PA to look for some items I can not find in other places. One thing they have their a Foddy foods. These are foods that are certified as low fodmap by Monash University.

Here are some shopping tips:

Plan Ahead:
Before heading to Wegmans, make a list of low FODMAP foods you need. This will help you stay focused and avoid impulse purchases. You can use their website.
Know Your Labels:
Familiarize yourself with the ingredients commonly found in high FODMAP foods. Look for products labeled "low FODMAP" or check the ingredients list for FODMAP-friendly options. This is basically looking at each ingredient. If they have "natural flavors" this is something you should be concerned about if you don't know what it is.
Pick Up Staples:
These are simple low Fodmap items you could find at any grocery store such as carrots, blueberries, strawberries, brown rice and eggs.

I posted this in a business class I am taking, and I thought I would share it here too.

Since this is an business class I would like to share all of my business. Ok that sounded funny. What I wanted to say was, I have been creating a company for over 12 years. I stayed at home with my kids while they grew up and slowly created a business. My main business now is publishing, But over the years I have tried online classes, selling items, and vlogging.

Things have changed. They took down my online classes because the quality was not good enough. I had 50 of them. They took down my blog because I violated their terms of services (still not sure what I did). I had a monetized YouTube channel but they changed the rules for that.

But I keep going and trying new things. Right now all of my books are on Amazon. If I violate their terms of service they could take it down at any time. I try not to do this but you never know. This is why I would like to have our books in more places.

I really like working with people around the world to create these books and I like creating products that I can sell.

When I was little my Mom did crafts shows. She did really well at them. I helped her every weekend and I think this gave me a better knowledge of the business world from real life experience. I now bring this to an online world.

I have had allergies all of my life. I finally went to a allergist. They did a skin prick test and identified what I as allergic to. Dust, tress, grasses, and dogs. I always thought I was allergic to cat my entire life, but no, it is dogs. At the time when I found out we just got a new puppy.

After adding nasal sprays, medicine, and eye drops, I decided to start allergy shots. These are regular injections of the things I am allergic to desensitize my immune system. I may have to do the shots for years but I am excited for the outcome.

I go to the Dr. two times a week and get a shot in each arm. I then have to wait 30 minutes to make sure I don't have a large reaction. So far I have not. Here are some bits if you are getting allergy shots. Remember I am just a patient.

Stay Consistent:
Attend all scheduled allergy shot appointments and follow the recommended injection schedule without missing doses. Consistency is key to achieving the desired therapeutic effects.
Communicate with Your Allergist:
If you experience any unusual or severe reactions after receiving allergy shots, inform your allergist immediately. They can adjust your treatment plan accordingly or provide additional guidance to manage your symptoms.
Take your Medicine:
They always ask me if I took my medicine before my shots.
Be Patient:
Allergy shots typically require time to achieve noticeable improvements in symptoms. It may take several months to a year before you start experiencing significant relief. Stay patient and committed to the treatment process.
Wear a shirt you can take off easily:
I get the shots in the back of my arm. Sometime sit is cold so I make sure I can take off my long sleeve shirt easily.
Stay Hydrated:
Drinking plenty of water before and after allergy shots can help minimize side effects and promote overall well-being.

Schedule your allergy shot appointments at times that are convenient for you and fit into your daily routine. This can help ensure that you're able to adhere to your treatment plan without disruption.

Stroll Through Old San Juan: The colorful streets of Old San Juan are a visual treat. Stroll through and let your kids soak in the vibrant atmosphere. I love the brink streets. Sidewalks are tight so if you have a stroller bring a small one.

I recommend a float and water shoes for this free beach right off the ship. There is great snorkeling by the rocks off the beach but it is very rocky to get there. I recommend very small children stay more to the pool so no one gets hurt.

Ahoy, fellow cruisers. Amber cove is a great cruise port where you can decide not to spend anything, spend a little or a lot! We spend a little and I will share with you what we did. Join me as I spill the beans on the 10 things every parent should know when venturing to The Cruise Port of Amber Cove with their kiddos for the first time. Let's dive in!

10 Tips for Going to The Cruise Port of Amber Cove with Kids:

Choose Kid-Friendly Excursions: At the cruise port there is a free pool. You can also pay $6 for slides (11/23 Prices). You can also zipline for $26. You need to be a certain weight to do this. I also saw two children going together to increase the weight but I am not sure how that works. There is a small yellow building by the boat where you pay.
Splash Around at the Pool: Amber Cove boasts a fantastic pool area. Bring swim gear for a refreshing dip and hours of family fun. Remember this part is free but some sections have loud music. There are free bathrooms around. The music had the curse words taken out. The pool does go in a circle.
Visit the Play Area: Let your kids burn off some energy at the dedicated play area. It's a perfect pitstop for active little ones. There is a small grass section and free hammock if you can get there first.
Try Food: In the Amber cove cruise area they had inexpensive food and a Nathans hotdogs if you like that.
Capture the Scenic Views: The picturesque surroundings of Amber Cove provide the ideal backdrop for family photos. Don't forget your camera! You will need to walk up yourself but it is free and a the views are beautiful.
Connect with Wildlife: If your kids love animals, consider excursions that allow them to interact with local wildlife. We saw lots of butterflies and dragonflies in November 2023.
Stay Hydrated: Caribbean sun can be intense. Pack water bottles to keep your family hydrated throughout the day. Bring your own water bottles.
Prepare for Shopping: The port features a variety of shops. Set a budget for souvenirs and involve your kids in picking out keepsakes. We went back on the ship and changed and then went shopping when we were done after the water activities and the zipplining.
Coordinate with Other Families: Cruising is more fun with company. Connect with other families on the cruise and plan activities together. Our daughter loved doing on the waterslides with another child her age.
Bring Portable Shade: There place only had shade by the building so that is where we sat.

As a seasoned family cruises, I've curated this list to ensure your Carnival Venencia experience is more fun and less work. We had a great time on our cruise and I hope you do too.

Plan Your Day Strategically: Scope out the carnival map and schedule in advance. Knowing where the kid-friendly attractions are located can save you precious time and energy.
Pack the Essentials: Sunscreen, snacks, and a change of clothes – be prepared for anything. Trust me, a well-packed bag is a parent's secret weapon.
Early Bird Gets the Fun: Arrive early to beat the crowds and enjoy popular rides with minimal wait times.
Height Matters: Check the height requirements for rides before your kiddos get their hearts set on them. The ropes course requires a certain height and so does the waterslides.
Embrace the Family Zones: There is the work out area, the basketball court (where they play more than basketball), and kids club areas.
Budget Wisely: Carnival goodies can add up. Set a spending limit for the arcade, treats, and souvenirs to avoid any post-carnival budget blues. There is a candy shop on board but we brought some of our own candy from home.
Stay Hydrated: With all the excitement, it's easy to forget the basics. Keep water bottles handy to ensure everyone stays refreshed. You can bring your own water bottle.
Embrace the Theme: Encourage the kiddos to dress up in theme-appropriate attire. It adds an extra layer of fun and makes for fantastic photos. Or don't dress the themes at all. Masks seem to be a thing on this cruise.

Take Breaks: Carnivals can be overwhelming, so don't hesitate to take short breaks. Find a shady spot to recharge and regroup.

I went to an entrepreneurship training this week which inspired me to write down my story again. Hi, I’m Lisa. I went to school to initially to teach online classes so I could be home with my children while perusing a career I enjoyed. I earned my doctorate in Education a year after my first child was born. I was an multimedia creator, instructional designer, and software training before having children.

While I was pregnant I had so many questions. I wrote a blog post to help others through pregnancy called “50 Things to Know Before Having a Baby”. That post went viral! I then took the post and made a book out of it which became the first book in the “50 Things to Know” series. After I published about 50 books, I started hiring other writers to write books and creating more series of books. I have a love of travel, so I created the “Greater Than a Tourist”, and “Eat Like a Local” series.

After the pandemic my children went back to school full-time but I decided to still work on my company CZYK Publishing which now has over 2,000 books, and 1,000 audiobooks. I continue to work on these series daily and learn how I can share more tips in an easy to learn format. I love working with people all around the world to do this from my computer at home.

I would like to tell others that want to become entrepreneurs that this was not my first idea for a business. I tried YouTube for a while, created content for teachers, published 50 online classes, and was an influencer to only name a few. While I had fun doing these things, for different reasons they did not work out. But it did not keep me from trying new things until something stuck. This has been a 10-year process.

Another thing that was helpful for starting my business is I used mostly free software on the internet to grow my businesses and lots of feedback. While this was time consuming on my part, I learned so much without going into debt. This allowed me to keep trying new things until I started creating an income. I hope people can learn from my journey as it was not straight but fulfilling. I appreciate all the education that I had that helped with each step along the way.

Black Moshannon State Park is situated in Centre County, approximately 9 miles east of Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. It covers an area of more than 3,000 acres in the Moshannon State Forest. The lake is a popular spot for boating, fishing, and birdwatching. We love the swimming and beach area there. The park offers a wide range of outdoor activities, making it a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and outdoor lovers. Visitors can enjoy hiking, picnicking, swimming, camping and wildlife watching. Black Moshannon State Park is known for its serene natural setting, with the lake and surrounding forest providing a peaceful backdrop for outdoor recreation and wildlife observation. Whether you're interested in water activities, hiking, or simply enjoying the tranquility of nature. The park is known for its unique ecosystem, including a sphagnum moss bog, which is a rare type of wetland.

Outdoor Activities: Visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, boating, bird-watching, picnicking, and camping. We went camping in a cabin for two nights. You can book 2 nights or more (up to two weeks) after the busy season is over.
Hiking Trails: The park offers several hiking trails of varying lengths and difficulty levels. The Moss-Hanne Trail is a popular choice that takes you through diverse habitats. There is a board walk section that is short and easy to get to by car.
Fishing: Black Moshannon Lake is stocked with trout and provides excellent fishing opportunities. A fishing pier is available for anglers. We have not tried fishing but there is kids finishing rods to borrow as well as other items from the main area.
Boating: Non-motorized boating is allowed on the lake, making it perfect for kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding. You can rent boat there for around $20 an hour.
Swimming: There's a sand beach at the lake where you can swim during the summer months. There is a playground on the beach too but no life guard.
Camping: The park offers both tent and RV camping options. Campsites are available year-round, but it's a good idea to make reservations during peak seasons.
Winter Activities: In the winter, the park offers cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing.
Wildlife Viewing: Black Moshannon is home to various wildlife species, including deer, turkey, and a variety of bird species. Don't forget your binoculars and camera for wildlife watching. We even saw some blue herons. We were told the lake has 5 and we saw two on a boat trip led by the education center. I love the Lilly pad on the black water. The view is amazing.
Environmental Education: The park hosts environmental education programs and events, making it an excellent destination for learning about the natural world. We did a UV walk at night which was amazing. We then saw the stars which was not part of the program but was one of my favorite parts. We also saw solar flares during a program.
Picnicking: Numerous picnic areas throughout the park feature tables and charcoal grills, making it a great spot for family picnics and outdoor meals.
Pets: Pets are welcome in most areas of the park but must be kept on a leash and cleaned up after. There are designated pet-friendly areas, so check the park's rules for specifics. We brought our dog and was allowed to keep her in a cabin!

A few days away to this beautiful place so close to home. Solar flare viewing. Pontoon boat. UV light walk in the dark. Uno. Beach. Bog water swimming. Our first canoe ride (We didn't tip but it wasn't very long).

We saw some blue herons on the boat ride and the park only has 5. Olivia helped drive us back.

There is no internet or phone signal at this park. The elevation of this park is 1,900 and it just feels different there.

Entertainment: The ship offers a wealth of entertainment options, including Broadway-style theater shows, a water park with multiple slides, a full-sized bowling alley, a sportsplex, and a state-of-the-art LED ceiling in the main promenade that displays digital sky imagery and various visual effects. The ceiling was like something we have never seen before. Well other than Vegas.

Dining: Passengers can choose from a variety of dining options, including specialty restaurants serving cuisines from around the world, as well as more casual dining venues such as buffets and cafes. We thought the food was great and they even had fresh mozzarella on the ship.

Cabins: The MSC Meraviglia offers a wide range of cabin categories, from inside cabins to luxurious suites with private balconies. Many cabins are designed to accommodate families, making it a popular choice for family cruises. There is a bunk bed option for kids who enjoy that on the cruise. We did not choose that one.

AquaPark: The ship features an impressive water park with multiple pools and water attractions, including water slides and a Himalayan rope bridge. This was a great place for our family to hang out during sea days.

Entertainment for Kids: MSC Cruises places a strong emphasis on family-friendly amenities, and the ship includes clubs and activities tailored to different age groups, ensuring that kids and teens have a great time on board. Our family enjoyed this spot. They even have a Lego girl theme. We love bringing our kids on cruises and we are not alone! There are many other kids on the ship. We brought our child at 10 months and we now have an 11 year old.

Wellness: For those looking to relax and rejuvenate, the MSC Aurea Spa offers a range of wellness treatments, including massages and beauty services. There's also a fitness center for those who want to stay active. They had a thermal spa which was really neat for us to try out for the first time.

Itineraries: The MSC Meraviglia sails on various itineraries, exploring destinations in the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean, and other regions, allowing passengers to experience a wide array of cultures and landscapes. We choose the Caribbean as we could leave from New York. The boat sailed out of Bayonne New Jersey for our trip.

Get Air Trampoline Park is a popular indoor entertainment facility that features a wide range of trampoline-based activities and attractions. Great for a raining or sunny day. Visitors are required to sign a waiver and adhere to safety rules and guidelines to ensure a safe experience. Special socks are needed and can be bought there.

Trampoline Arenas: Get Air Trampoline Parks have expansive trampoline arenas where visitors can bounce, jump, and perform various acrobatic moves. These arenas often include interconnected trampolines on the floor and walls, creating a three-dimensional jumping experience. I prefer my kids not do flips but I believe some are allowed.
Foam Pits: Many Get Air locations have foam pits where visitors can safely jump or flip into a pit filled with soft foam cubes. This allows for practicing tricks. Kids and parents should always be concerned about foam pits because they might not be properly fluffed.
Dodgeball: Dodgeball courts with trampolines are a common feature at Get Air Trampoline Parks. Visitors can participate in high-energy dodgeball games while bouncing on the trampolines. The balls are soft and do not hurt you when they hit you.
Slam Dunk Zones: These areas feature basketball hoops set at varying heights, allowing visitors to attempt gravity-defying slam dunks. This is a fun change to try out a new skill.
Ninja Courses: Some Get Air locations have ninja warrior-style obstacle courses that challenge agility, strength, and coordination. This is a great place to practice your balance skills in a different way.

Penn's Cave is a "America's Only All-Water Cavern & Wildlife Park" and is a natural limestone cave that offers guided boat tours for visitors to explore its underground passages. Yes, that is right. You take a boat through the cave! There is also a wildlife park. Visitors can see a variety of North American animals, including bison, elk, deer, wolves, and bears. The wildlife park can be explored via a separate bus tour. There is also a maze and a very large gift shop. I might go back for some Christmas gifts!

Reservations: Make reservations in advance, especially during peak seasons, to secure your spot for the guided boat tour. They do allow walks ins but won’t guarantee your spot.
Safety Guidelines: Prioritize safety by listening carefully to the guide's instructions and following all safety guidelines. This means no swaying the boat and listening to the tour guide when he needs to move around the small boat.
Clothing: Wear comfortable, layered clothing as caves tend to be cool and damp. There will be water dripping on you at some points.
Flashlights Not Needed: The cave is properly lit for viewing. Even with changing colors.
Cameras and Phones: Bring your camera to take pictures of the different rooms and formations that you like.

These water parks are designed with a wilderness theme and feature a variety of water attractions, including water slides, lazy rivers, wave pools, and kiddie play areas. The water park is open year-round, making it a popular destination for families looking for a fun getaway regardless of the weather. We went with a 2 year old, 8 year old, and 11 year old and there was something for everyone, including the adults and grandparents. There are many different room types to choose from. My kids love the bunk bed room! We do too It's a popular destination for families looking for a vacation or getaway experience with a focus on water park entertainment and family bonding.

Early Check-In: Arrive early and take advantage of the lodge's "Early Arrival" program to access water park attractions before your room is ready. At the time we went it said you can enjoy the waterpark the day your room is ready.
Packing List: Bring swimwear, sunscreen, and any necessary toiletries. Towels and life jackets are provided at the water park. There is an outside pool that is included during the months it is open if you are interested.
Water Park Attractions: Enjoy water slides, wave pools, lazy rivers, and interactive water play areas suitable for guests of all ages.
MagiQuest: One of the unique attractions at Great Wolf Lodge is the interactive live-action adventure game called MagiQuest, where you can use a magic wand to complete quests throughout the resort. You need to pay extra for this but my kids love it!
Arcade: The lodge also has a large arcade with a variety of games and prizes. I found the arcade to be pricy but it is something to quickly do.
Dining Options: The resort offers a variety of dining options, including a buffet, pizzeria, and ice cream shop. These can get expensive so you can bring your own food to eat in your room. A crock pot can be very helpful. There are no microwaves in the room but there is one down a long hallway. There are refrigerators in the rooms.
Children's Activities: In addition to the water park, Great Wolf Lodge has daily activities and events for kids, such as storytime and character appearances. Check for the times when you get there.
Indoor and Outdoor Attractions: Beyond the water park, there are indoor attractions like mini-golf, a ropes course, and a climbing wall.

Paw Pass: You can get a pass to get discounts on the extras that you may want to pay for if you are interested.

Split Rock Resort is a vacation and conference resort located in Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania. It's situated in the scenic Pocono Mountains.

Split Rock Resort offers a range of amenities, including accommodations, and a indoor water parks. Some rooms are connected to the waterpark and some you can walk or drive. There is also an arcade on site.

Here are 10 tips for your first visit:

Check the Resort's Website: Before your trip, visit the resort's official website for the latest information on accommodations, amenities, activities, and any special offers. We enjoy the offer of a free waterpark with a stay.
Reservations: If you have specific activities or amenities you want to enjoy, consider making reservations in advance, especially during peak seasons. We found a room that connected two suites. This way we both had our own space but then connected. This made it easier to go with my sister.
Accommodations: Choose the type of accommodation that suits your needs, whether it's a standard room, or suite. We actually enjoyed our jacuzzi tub during our stay.
Pack Accordingly: Depending on the time of year, pack appropriate clothing for both indoor and outdoor activities. Don't forget swimsuits if you plan to visit the water park.
Water Park Access: If you're interested in the water park, check the operating hours and plan your visit accordingly. There hours of operation were smaller than we thought they should be. We only found 1 waterslide to be open but still had a good time.
Dining Options: I suggest bringing food to make in your own kitchen. But there may also be delivery options.
Activity Schedule: Look for the resort's activity schedule. This resort actually has a movie theater, bowling alley and arcade but they are not open 24/7.
Local Attractions: Research nearby attractions and activities outside the resort. The Pocono Mountains region has a lot to offer, so consider exploring beyond the resort grounds.
Parking and Transportation: We found that there is lots of parking at the waterpark and our room.
Ask the Staff: The resort's staff can provide valuable information and recommendations. Don't hesitate to ask them for suggestions based on your interests. We needed a new room key and they were there fast to help us out.

Bonus Tip, you can visit the actual Split Rock for free.

Plan Ahead: Research the park's layout, attractions, shows, and dining options before your visit to maximize your time and experience. You can do this by doing on their website or finding maps.
Get Park Tickets in Advance: Purchase your tickets online to save time and potentially money. Universal often offers discounts for purchasing tickets in advance.
Arrive Early: Arriving at the park early can help you beat the crowds and experience popular attractions with shorter wait times. We stayed on site so we could get into the park an hour early.
Use Express Passes: Consider purchasing Universal Express Passes to skip the regular lines on select attractions. This can significantly reduce wait times, especially during peak seasons. We did not do this because they are expensive but we wish we could afforded it.
Download the App: Universal Studios usually has an official app with maps, wait times, show schedules, and more. Download it to stay updated throughout the day. This app was even helpful to find bathrooms.
Single Rider Lines: If you don't mind riding separately from your group, single rider lines can drastically reduce your wait times. Sometimes they allow two riders to go at the same time when you wait in these lines.
Hydrate and Snack: Florida can be hot, so stay hydrated and carry some snacks to keep your energy up throughout the day. They do sell things if you don't want to carry a bag. I recommend a very small bag and you will need to put these in a free locker.
Wear Comfortable Clothing and Shoes: You'll likely do a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. Breathable cotton worked best for me.
Plan Rest Breaks: Take breaks throughout the day to rest and recharge. This will help you avoid burnout and keep enjoying the park. I found that eating at the park was expensive but we did not have to waste time leaving and coming back in.
Catch the Shows: Universal Studios offers a variety of live shows and entertainment. Plan some showtimes into your itinerary to add variety to your experience. We thought this was some of the best things we did while at the park.

Bonus 1: Visit Harry Potter Attractions Early or Late: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter attractions can get crowded. Consider visiting these areas early in the morning or later in the evening for shorter lines. Since we got in early, we walked to the back of the park and did this the first thing when we got htere.
Bonus 2: Stay for Nighttime Entertainment: Universal Studios often has spectacular nighttime shows and events. Stay until closing to enjoy these experiences. We enjoyed the parade and fireworks. Sometimes we went back to our room mid day so we could stay til the end of the night.
