Sculpture That’s As Light As Well, Cardboard

Ferry Staverman has created exquisite sculptures using a type of layered cardboard (which uses recycled cardboard, yay!) called Bee Board. The designer also has created a line of tree sculptures. They’re incredibly intricate and beautiful and hopefully they’re available in the States somewhere. Let me know if you find them anywhere!

New Favorite Designer: Autoban by De La Espada

I’m lovin’ the modern designs made by Autoban. They’re totally modern and make you look twice…there’s something not quite normal about them, but in the end that’s what you appreciate about them. I’m really enjoying the mushroom-esque stools. They’re so completely different from any stools I’ve seen before and are much more inviting than your standard bar seat. I also really like this one armed chair. Just something a little different, that you can help but to look cool sitting in.

Liz Kinder Pottery

Liz Kinder is an alumna of London’s Royal College of Art where she studied ceramics and has since returned to the States (lucky for us!) to make her pieces in her Philadelphia studio. Kinder enjoys glazing and sees the color on her simple bowls as one of the signatures of her work. Her bowls are bright, yet classic and would be a great addition in your home. Laville Frames

I was in a frame shop today, saw these frames and instantly fell in love. Laville is the original maker of reclaimed wood frames and mirrors, using architectural pieces from Southern ruins to make them. They’re elegant yet rustic and are sure to fit in nicely in any home.

Solv Studio Chair

This chair is an award winning design made from bent birch and a steel frame. Other designs from this studio include a chair similar to this one made out vinyl billboards and one made out of cashmere. The shape is organic and warm and it actually looks comfortable.

Minimalist Lighting

Don’t Throw That Pizza Box Away!

Dutch designer Wendy Plomp has finally seen some use for old pizza boxes besides recycling and hitch-hiker signage. Wendy believes that by printing a beautiful pattern on the inside of a used box you can create your own temporary space. She calls her creations “Message on a Box”.
