Charming Necessities Fall 2014 Model Search

Its that time again! Once (or sometimes twice) a year, Charming Necessities holds a model search open to any and all boutique models that wear sizes 12mo - 6. The models selected will receive a dress and M2M headband in exchange for high quality modeled pictures of the outfits. These pictures will be used on Charming Necessities website, etsy store, across all social media platforms, and may be used in marketing materials as well.

Official Rules and How To Enter

The 2014 Fall Model Search will open 7/7/2014. Entries can be submitted up until 10PM EST on 7/16/2014.

Model Search is open to girls ages 12mo - 6 (wears a size 6).

HOW TO ENTER:

EMAIL one (1) picture per child (in jpeg format only) to charmingnecessities@yahoo.com.
Please include MODEL SEARCH ENTRY in the subject line – as well as the following information in the body of your email (any emails sent in with missing information will not be entered):
1. MODELS NAME AND AGE
2 CLOTHING SIZE
3. WHETHER PICTURES (IF YOUR MODEL IS SELECTED) WILL BE TAKEN BY MOM OR PHOTOGRAPHER (or if Mom IS a photographer :-))
4. PHOTOGRAPHERS NAME

By submitting your email you acknowledge:

1. That you have READ AND AGREE to the following rules and guidelines.

2. That you are the owner of the picture submitted (or have permission to use the photos for the contest.)

Photos submitted must be clear and recent pictures of the child. Pictures do not have to be professional but they must by HIGH QUALITY, remember this is a JUDGED contest. Entries will be judged based on the picture submitted. Please - no cell phone pictures, quick snap shots, screen shots of pictures online, etc. The judges will not consider any pictures like these.

I will add pictures to a Model Search Album on Charming Necessities Facebook Fan Page.

PRIZES:

FOUR (4) GRAND PRIZES:

Four Grand Prize Winners: Will receive a modeling opportunity from Charming Necessities. Winners will model dresses from Fall 2014 Collections, as well as matching hair accessories. Winners will receive 1 dress to model, as well as a matching headband. Winners will KEEP the outfit sent to them as their compensation for modeled pictures.

JUDGING:

Entries will be judge by a panel of Judges, including fellow boutique owners, photographers, and friends of Charming Necessities who are familiar with the brand and style of the brand.

Contestants are judged based on:

• QUALITY of picture submitted. First and foremost the entries will be judge based on the picture submitted. Please - no cell phone pictures, quick snap shots, screen shots of pictures online, etc. The judges will not consider any pictures like these.

• Overall Appearance

• Expression

• Picture style/theme is able to flow with current photography styles on charmingnecessities.com

• Child’s ability to showcase products well

Entries must be submitted by 10 PM EST on July 16th.

4 Winners will be announced Friday July 18th.

RULES:

• Models must be able to provide HIGH QUALITY PHOTOS if they are chosen.

• Models must also have Photographer’s permission to use photos. Photographers may watermark photos and I will give them credit for the pictures as well.

• Models must be able to return 4-5 pictures of each item sent, within 2 weeks of receiving items to be photographed.

• Pictures of items modeled must be clear.

• Pictures may not be edited to the point where the original colors of clothing or hair accessories is blurred.

• Judges decisions are FINAL.

• NO drama will be tolerated. There will be NO negative comments on Charming Necessities Blog or Facebook page regarding the Model Search. Any negative comments will be deleted immediately.

• Let’s keep this FUN and FRIENDLY and have GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP!

Because models will be representing Charming Necessities, you are encouraged to submit pictures that represent the general theme of pictures found on my website. Think girly, vintage, elegant!

There are no words for how precious this dress is! Originally, the Pure Couture Collection was meant to be an all white line. After sewing up the heirloom flutter sleeve dress I decided that I *had* to also offer it in some sweet pastel colors for Spring and Easter.

The main print has various medallions and scrolling designs, with french post cards and script, poinsettia flowers, holly berries and leaves, all in traditional Christmas colors. Coordinating fabrics highlight the dark cranberry, forest green, and vintage tan elements of the main print with a small calico print, a stripe, and a lovely damask.

Charming Necessities has recently launched 3 new boutique clothing collections for Fall 2013. I have brought back a few all time favorite dresses, peasant dresses and knot dresses; as well as introduced some new designs!

Due to some recent customer feedback via my facebook fan page, the peasant dresses can be made with either SHORT or LONG sleeves! There is a drop down menu in each dress listing where you can choose the sleeve length you prefer.

The Autumn Splendor collection is is sewn with fun, modern fabrics in pink, orange, cranberry, and black. There is a bit of chevron as well! It includes a peasant dress, flutter sleeve dress, pinafore dress, long sleeve peasant top, ruffle pants, M2M accessories.

Exquisite is an elegant french country inspired collection. The colors a perfect for fall, apple green, yellow, turquoise with touches of rust and cranberry.

There is a knot dress, peasant dress, flutter sleeve dress, long sleeve peasant top (for layering with the knot dress or flutter sleeve dress), ruffle pants, and M2M accessories.

Charm School is a lovely collection for back to school! The main fabric is a vintage alphabet print (LOVE!!!), with coordinating fabrics in muted colors. This is a small limited edition collection so there are two dresses, a peasant dress and knot dress, as well as M2M ruffle pants and accessories.

Can.you.stand.the.CUTENESS?! I am so infatuated with these darling little shorts! I have been sneaking them in to sew with orders whenever I can.

These sailor shorts are fun and functional with a flat front, working pockets, and elastic back waist (for fit and easy dressing). They have decorative binding and buttons for that finishing touch.

Girls Christmas and Holiday Peasant Dresses by Charming Necessities

I have been sorely lacking in keeping up with my blog but I wanted to quickly post two dresses that are available for the upcoming Christmas season!

First is the Holiday Folklore peasant dress in a traditional red and green color scheme. The prints for this collection have an old world feel to them - with silhouettes of deer, rabbits, and foliage.

Both peasant dresses have an adorable detail, a ruffled neckline! I added this detail to give the dresses a bit more of a special occasion feel, as well as a pleated ruffle on the bottom of the skirt. These peasant dresses have long, bell shaped sleeves, a removable sash, and optional matching hair accessories!

A full body shot, this dress has a lace embellishment as well as the pleated ruffle.

The dress can be worn with or without the sash.

I am IN LOVE with the prints for Storybook Christmas. The main print features gingerbread houses, peppermint sticks, trees, and the silhouettes of a little boy and girl. These fabrics are very whimsical and a nice option if you want something that isn't quite as tranditional.

This dress features two pleated ruffles at the hem.

This dress coordinates perfectly with the hot pink ruffled cords, or it can be worn with tights.

A couple weeks ago I posted on my Facebook fan page about my sunsuit pictures being stolen and copied by Chinese manufacturers. I have gotten many emails from fans/customers letting me know that they are now seeing these knock-offs being sold via Facebook and other selling venues by other boutiques. Instead of having knot style straps they are halter straps.

Please know that at this time, you can only purchase Charming Necessities outfits through charmingnecessities.com OR my Etsy shop. I have been selling these two particular sunsuits for 3 years. If you see them being offered somewhere else with the halter straps they are CHINA KNOCKOFFS and NOT HANDMADE.

It makes me sick to think that others are benefiting from and making money off of my hard work. :(

I fell in love with these fabrics when I saw them, and knew it would be the perfect theme for a back to school dress!

The main print has a variety of library books, and library images, with words such as "non-fiction" and "bookworm" throughout. The secondary fabric looks like tje old-fashioned stamps used when you check out books to let you know when to return them. The bodice and skirt are emellished with a coral pin dot ruched ruffle.

This collection is limited editition so it won't be around long. Combine the knot dress with a pair of new Cordurory Ruffle pants and and matching Proper Princess headband, and you're little one will be ready for her first day of school or pre-school!
