The Adventures of Chase, Owen & HATTIE!

Fall Fun

2017-10-18T14:57:00.001-05:00

Hattie and I had a Mommy Daughter date with my friend Mindy at the General Store. She wore this adorable outfit with pumpkins and posed with the beautiful grasses.

Cousin Sleepover

2017-10-18T14:55:00.001-05:00

Gavin spent the night last weekend and the kids were so excited to have him stay! We had a movie night and the boys slept all cozy in one bed.

Hattie rides a 2 wheeler!

2017-09-27T11:39:00.001-05:00

Hattie has enjoyed biking so much this summer, way more than the boys ever liked it. She scoots around on their old blue and green bike with training wheels and can go so fast. We got her a girls bike (princess) but she prefers Ol’Blue. She also started to ride the balance bike and got really good at going down the driveway and the sidewalks. So, on my first day back to work, August 28^th, Jeff was home with Hattie because she didn’t have school that day. She talked him into taking the training wheels of her bike and sure enough, SHE RODE!!!! It was amazing to see her little 4 year old body ride the bike with such confidence, I couldn’t believe it. Jeff told her to look up and straight ahead, so now when she gets on you can see her pick her head up and look straight ahead and she just goes! She can even get started, if she wants to. So proud of my little girl!

Hot September Days

2017-09-27T11:35:00.002-05:00

Last Thursday and Friday, September 21-22 we had some HOT, 90 degree weather. It was a perfect chance to get out the summer items we had stored and invite a few friends over to run in the sprinkler! Oh how much fun they had and I loved watching the water fly in the low sunlight. Giggle and smiles were flying as well!

Beginning of 3rd grade and Pre-K

2017-09-21T17:21:00.000-05:00

We had a great start to the year, with the boys going into 3^rd grade and Hattie heading into Pre-K. When I asked the kids, from the front of the van one day, who was excited for school, the only one I heard yell “YEAH” was Hattie! Even I wasn’t excited. However, the night before school I was tucking the boys into bed and they sheepishly admitted they were excited for 3^rd grade. They had met their teacher and I think she excited them as she was “cool, weird and different”. All things they like. And she “looked nice”. That’s a prerequisite for Owen. And she was nice. She liked Harry Potter, Star Wars and all literature. She spoke in a British accent at times, which they loved. Hattie was excited to see all her old friends and move into the big 4 year old room. All her teachers were back, she knew the routine and she was ready! So on the big day the boys boarded the bus and had the best day ever! The next day Hattie headed to preschool and had her best day! We are so blessed to have amazing educators in the lives of our children.

September

2016-11-02T11:38:00.003-05:00

Chase and Owen started sleeping in Chase's room together. I think this began when Jeff and I were on vacation in FL and Owen was scared in his room.

We had some wonderful weather which made it possible to have a lemonade stand in September. All the neighbors joined in the fun.

Hattie and her BFF, Abby, played one afternoon

We had a family fun day at the mall due to some problems we were having with the van. Chase and Owen went on these huge bouncers. They had fun but were a little nervous they would hit something as they bounced. They were a little nervous to flip, too.

We ended up at Chuck E Cheese's too . . . boy it was a fun afternoon for the kids!

I love this pic! Chase is telling me about the amazing tickets they won, Jeff is laughing and having fun like a kid!

They each got a huge sucker and were so happy!

Greyson and Hattie played that night after our mall adventure.

Hattie was not happy with Greyson.

Jeff and I went to FL on a vacation to celebrate our 10th anniversary. This is our family right before we left.

Deardorff Apple Orchard

2016-10-28T14:23:00.000-05:00

We touch our 9th annual Deardorff Orchard trip on Saturday October 15th and loved every minute of it. The boys claimed they didn't remember going when they were very little, but did remember last year. Once we got there all the memories came back and they ran around the place loving it. Hattie loved seeing the animals and we all liked riding the tractor and walking up and down the rows and rows of apple trees.

A couple little goats got out, and then the mom. Hattie and the boys chased them around and Hattie wasn't at all scared to follow them and pet them.

A Boat Date

2016-10-28T13:27:00.000-05:00

We went out on the boat in September with our friends the Cole's. Their kids and our kids have a blast together and we love it that they share the same passion for Jesus.

Homework

2016-10-19T18:34:00.002-05:00

During the boys' homework time Hattie likes to do her homework too. She sits and traces and writes and works so hard. Check out that grasp!

Carko 2.0

2016-10-19T18:31:00.000-05:00

Jeff built Carko when he was a kid so he decided to make an extra enhanced version of the one he made. The boys love it and it is really amazing!

Afterwork greeting

2016-10-19T18:27:00.000-05:00

Most days when Jeff picks Hattie up from preschool this is what I come home to! They wait for me at the corner and race me home, always winning of course. I just love it!

The Puppy Cart

2016-10-19T18:26:00.001-05:00

Target got a few carts for kids. The boys saw them and said, "Look they have carts for puppies!" I thought that was so cute. They thought you put the puppies in the cart. So we called them, Puppy Carts. Chase got to use one and he wore this mask the entier time he was at Target. We got a lot of smiles out of everyone. Hattie got to use the cart too and loved it. They left Target before Owen had a chance. :(

August Recap

2016-10-01T17:24:00.000-05:00

August was such an amazing month, despite the fact I started school 2 weeks earlier this year, on the 15th.

Typical morning, Hattie on the stool eating her "badel"

At one of Chase and Owen's ball games

This girl loves to chose her own outfits and there is no arguing. Well, you can argue but you won't win and it's not worth the fight.

An afternoon with the neighbor girls. Hattie is always in the middle since she is the youngest.

Heading to the pool one last time

We took a three day trip to my parents farm and had a great time! It was pretty hot so we played in the pool and went to the big pool in town. We spent lots of time in the garden and fed the cows lots of apples. We even took a hike in the forrest!

Trolley Ride

2016-09-01T13:44:00.002-05:00

Every summer I try to take the kids to ride the Trolley in Excelsior. It's such a quick little ride and it's fun for all of us. This year the boys were very interested in the Trolley and Jeff even came along with us! We went on Tuesday August 2nd.

Hattie isn't into pictures these days

Chase and Mommy

There she is! As long as she's making funny faces she will take a picture. I love it when she pulls her head back and you get a big cubby faced smile. Love the curls created by the humidity.

Chase and Owen loved to watch outside and we rode

Chase waiting for his siblings to come

It was a beautiful hot humid night and we went to Maynard's after for dinner and got to see the geese.

A Week at Nana and Papa Anderson's House

2016-09-01T13:40:00.000-05:00

Chase and Owen had the chance to stay with their Grandpa and Grandma Anderson for 6 days and 5 nights when I went back to work this fall. Owen was a little unwilling at first, but after a good night sleep he didn’t seem to miss us much! They had such an amazing time, I’m not sure they are gonna want to come home! They got to pick fruit and feed the cows, play with kittens, build a fort and sleep in it, visit a friend’s farm and show sheep and ride horses, go to a SF Canaries game, eat out, make desserts, go to the Zoo, play in the creek, throw cow pies and hang out away from mom and dad and sister. What a wonderful experience for all 4 of them. Thank you Nana and Papa for making memories and taking care of our sweet boys! :) These are pictures my mom sent me throughout the week.

You Want to Play with Me?

2016-08-31T21:00:00.004-05:00

Hattie has grown up so much in the past few months! Her two neighbor friends were playing together and she wanted to see if they would play with her. Normally she would make me go with her and ask for her. I told her she could ask. She asked me to come with her, so I did. We got to their house and she sticks her hip out and with confidence says, "You guys want to play with me?" It was so cute! I was proud and I was even more happy they said "yes!" It made her day!

Hattie's Preschool Open House

2016-08-31T20:50:00.002-05:00

Hattie was so excited for her preschool open house on Tuesday August 23rd. She even wore a frilly dress, which i couldn't believe. She got to bring her school supplies (3 glues, 2 packs of markers, play doh, kleenex, snacks). Chase and Owen were at my parents so it was a nice time for just the 3 of us. She smiled, explored the room, played and didn't really want to go!

Walking to her room

We found her locker!
