Happy Birthday Mom

Today my Mom would of been 74 years young. I wish we were spending the day celebrating her birthday with a yummy cake and lot's of presents for her to open.

Happy Birthday Mom. We miss you so much!!!!

To Honor my Mom's Birthday I will be making a donation to The Alzheimer's Association. My son Chris will be running in August to raise money for The Alzheimer's Association and he plans on continuing his efforts to raise money and help bring more attention to this horrible disease. We are very proud of our son Chris and can't wait to be there rooting him on at the finish line!!!!

When I asked my husband how he wanted to celebrate his BIG 5-0 Birthday...he said "with my family".

Our two oldest boys took their Dad golfing bright and early Saturday morning. It gave me some time to get the house ready for an afternoon of partying....by noon the food had arrived...the Sangria was made...all 6 kids plus our 2 daughter-in-laws were in the house and we were ready to celebrate!!!!

The day couldn't of been more perfect!!!! The weather was beautiful and we spent most of the day in the pool.

Later in the evening after our older kids had gone home I told my husband that I felt like the luckiest Mommy on earth!!! We have such a good time with our kids and they all get along so well..there is so much laughter and love when we get together...my husband said that we were both very lucky and blessed to have such an incredible family!!!!

Happy 50th to my sweet husband!!! I hope your birthday was everything that you expected it to be and more!!!!!

Tiny Dancer

My Sweet little girl had her recital this past weekend. She performed in 4 different routines (Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet and Tap).

At the end of the show Miss A. was showered with flowers from her brothers, sister-in-law, Daddy and Grandpa Kid. We were all very proud of our tiny dancer.

The Lemonade Stand

When I was little I had the biggest imagination (still do). Every 4th of July the kids on my block had a parade. We marched to the tune of pots and pans!! We put plays on in our backyards and our parents made for a great audience. We set up lemonade stands and had BIG ideas of opening up shop and becoming famous.

Today's world sure is different. My girls have ipads, laptops, Wii, xbox, DS, DS3D and the list goes on...I love that my kids are not techie challenged like some members of the family (ahem) therefore I make it a point that they learn the importance of imaginary play.

I searched all over for a lemonade stand and finally found one that I liked and that was big enough for Mommy to play too (after all who doesn't like playing lemonade stand). My girls could not wait to whip out their new lemonade stand and make a little money off....who else but their brothers (insert evil grin).

Yesterday we had a family bbq and the girls were taking orders left and right. Before I knew it they were selling everything in sight and their money jug was filling up quickly...my little one made it clear, there would be no refunds!

My older kids were great sports and played right along (they got a kick out of the girls and their selling skills).

My 9 year old was hysterical with her "how can I help you" line and "sorry I have no change" (it was a trick to keeping the entire dollar). It was also made clear to everyone there would be no running tabs!

Next up....snow cone and ice cream day. The girls are already scheming (I mean planning) on how they would like to set up business on the 4th of July.

Busy busy busy

Time sure does get away from me. I always have good intention to blog but then I get side tracked!!!!

Let's play catch up!!!
In February I went to WPPI in Vegas with my good friend Michelle. I had the time of our life and can't wait to go back next year!!! I learned a ton and had a blast shopping at the expo and learning about all the new products!! I had a few things on my list to check out at the expo. One was the Canon 5D Mark III and I went looking for it. The Canon reps didn't have it available and claimed it may not be launched. Soon after I got home it was out for pre order. Boy I thought good and hard about ordering it and decided to sit back and wait for all the kinks to be worked out..we all know anytime something new comes out there will be a glitch or two. Happy I waited...looks like there are a few problems with the camera : ( I also was eager to check out the new Shootsac bag..I fell in love with the Tote and Shoot and could wait to get my hands on it!! I have to say I love love love it!!!! My favorite camera bag so far!! Then there was the Wacom booth. I think I had a heart attack when I spotted this baby!!! But I had just bought a new MacPro with all the bells and whistles and I don't think I could convince my husband that I need a ginormous interactive display (shhh maybe the medium one) but I did just buy the intuos5 and I do love it!!! No more mouse which is a HUGE plus!!!
I came home with pounds of brochures and information and I finally have it all organized in folders (that was a big project).

Recently I launched a new store site and I am slowly but surely working on new products. I have been blessed with wonderful friends from a few photography groups and we have worked together finding good vendors, printers and products.

I just launched 2 new sets of textures "Summertime II" and "Color and Grunge".

I was recently asked to participate in a new texture group on facebook called Texture Photography Masters and I am honored to be a part of the group.

Spring is in the air!!!! The weather is beautiful!!!! I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful season!!!

This weeks iheartfaces photo challenge is Best Face Photo of 2011. This is one of my favorite pictures of my daughter. We had done a little back to school photo session. I brought along an apple as a prop. She kept smelling the apple and before I knew it, she dug in..all I could do was snap away. She makes me smile!!!!
