Symbols - All You Need to Know About Magic

2026-09-07T19:57:12.391-07:00

Symbols: The Book That Asks If Rituals Are Actually Running Your Life

What if the crown on a queen's head, the trophy on an athlete's shelf, and the plush toy in a self-help guru's diet plan were all the same thing — technology, just dressed up as magic?

That's the strange, restless premise threading through Symbols: Magic Rituals That Actually Work by Alexander Lancere, a collection of sixteen interconnected stories that shouldn't fit together and somehow do. A broke, ordinary woman gets crowned queen of two continents overnight, chosen by a Church that needs a symbol more than it needs a ruler. A washed-up athlete builds a champion out of a girl with nothing left to lose. A journalist chases a rockstar across a ruined world and finds a pop star instead. A consultant charges Silicon Valley's elite six figures to explain why their crocodile brain won't listen to their spreadsheet — and he might actually be onto something.

Told in a fast, stream-of-consciousness style that jumps between political satire, sports drama, mystery, and full-on fantasy, Symbols keeps circling one idea: rituals aren't superstition. They're a kind of technology, and the people who understand that — kings, cult leaders, pop stars, marketing executives, one very patient dragon — are the ones actually running the world.

Readers looking for erotica will find a handful of chapters that lean fully into it — a couple of stories built around fantasy-world rituals of desire, a tech cult with a sex robot god, and a pop star's music video empire, among others — alongside chapters that are pure satire, pure mystery, or pure myth. It's a genuinely mixed book, sharp and filthy and funny by turns, and it doesn't apologize for any of it.

Note: Symbols is intended for readers 18 and older. It contains explicit sexual content, obscene language, and dark themes handled through a critical, satirical lens.

The book is free on Kindle September 8th and 9th. One-day read, sixteen stories, one question you probably won't stop asking afterward: what ritual is actually running your life?

Highly recommended!

Top 10 Best Vogue covers of recent years, well, my personal choice

2026-08-31T23:03:03.065-07:00

This is my personal list of top 10 best Vogue's covers from 2025-26. By far my very favorite photo shoot is one with Moomins, though the article is all about how legacy of a great artist has become a business with multi-million turnover, oh modern world! But still I like Moomins, despite modern writers being so fixed on cash, not funny little creatures.

Photograph by Archie Geotina, Beautiful athlete surfing in party dress, what a fine grotesque, deserves some attention.

Vogue Mexico - August 2026 - Simple but dynamic pose, and casual, I like casual.

Vogue Latam August 2026 - Is it some ethnic-influenced pattern, also like simplicity and soft elegance here.
