I firmly believe Georgia’s fight for the border change will not come out to their liking. I personally like my husband’s suggestion: if Georgia wants to tap into our water, how about they get serious about the high speed rail between Chattanooga and Atlanta? But if I were to wake up one morning and be old I live in Georgia now, well, guess I’m from the Peach State.

Tomorrow, Saturday, November 17th at 1:30 p.m. Jim Lehrer will be visiting Rock Point Books. He will speak about and take time to sign his book, Eureka.

Eureka is Jim Lehrer’s 17th novel. You might know him best from the PBS news show, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.

Tim Dodge wrote of the book,

This one, No. 17, seems to have sprung effortlessly from a brain teeming with Big Band tunes and toys from childhood, midlife career angst and satirical barbs aimed at the obligatory status badges and appliances of conspicuous consumption.

The event is free to the public, so head on down to Rock Point Books tomorrow to meet and learn from Mr. Lehrer.

According the Hamilton County Election Commission website, the polling stations are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. So go! Get your vote on! There is only one question (who should be the next Sentator for Tennessee Senate District 10) and only two answers (Andy Berke and Oscar Brock) to choose from. It took me less than five minutes, with a toddler in tow, to get in and get out.

Please Chattanooga, go and vote.

I had an absolutely glorious Chattanooga day today. It was sunny but not hot, with some nice breezes at perfect times. I spent most of the day outside, painting my front porch. I accomplished a lot and it really put me in a good mood. Such a good mood that I decided to give something away!
