5. It spins titles and descriptions.

PROS:

• Noob Friendly

• Decent results.

CONS:

• Speed. Incomparable to Xrumer
• A bit pricy and the features aren’t really that great, hell, I can submit your sites to over 70 social bookmarking services with title/description/tag spinning for free.

• Pretty hard to find not spammed sites. But it’s still very good.

The key is to build or buy a good base (And remember, no one really sells a good base, for obvious reasons) of websites that aren’t spammed like hell (ever seen guest-books, like, refresh the page and 20 new links appear?). Links from sites like that can do more harm then good. So getting a good base of websites is crucial for good results. This can’t be applied to SEnuke, and the list of supported engines in LFE is pretty limited. But both of them are pretty noob friendly and easy to master. Xrumer, on other hand is virtually capable of spamming any site you want. But it will take you some time and probably programming knowledge to accomplish these tasks. A simple example of usage: create profiles at niche forums, with links to your website. Make a post from each of the profiles. Links and probably some traffic gained. All automated. Can you imagine how much time it would take you to manually do this? Just don’t forget to spin anchors, titles and content to avoid Google’s filters.

Link building is the toughest part of SEO. No kidding, It can take you years to grow link mass “the natural way”, unless you’re some kind of a genius or a natural born viral marketer.  But do not fear, there are some relatively easy ways to build a massive amount of  links to your site. And forget about ethics, if you don’t want to – this post is not for you :P

Wordpress themes.

This is kind of old and dirty in some way. You make a theme and put your credit in the footer and probably some other parts of the template. But you have to be a WP coder to make those, and most of us are not, so there’s an easier solution. Take some free (or premium, depends on your ethics) themes, compile them in a pack, add your links to them and, well, upload them to torrent trackers. There’s a neat trick, most people who use Wordpress don’t even know simple html, so most of your links won’t get removed. But, there’s also a lot of people that know html and don’t know anything about PHP obfuscation :) Just take the whole template file (if the links are in the footer it’ll be footer.php) and obfuscate it. You can also encode your php code with Zend or Ioncube, but it might not be compatible with some webhostings. People will either break their theme by removing the obfuscated code, start using another theme, or will just leave the links where they are. Oh and don’t put your Adsense in the themes, your account might get banned ;)

Splogs.

Automated blogs. Stolen or generated content. It’s also a rather simple way to get links and if you get good at it – to get profit. It’s basically about:

1. Install Wordpress.
2. Configure it (more on that later)
3. Aggregate content.
4. Rinse and repeat xxx times.
5. Link the splogs together (optional) and make links to the acceptor website.
6. Enjoy and drink beer.

Ha, it’s really not that simple. First of all, you’ll need lots of them, meaning you have to automate the process to make it time worthy. When you aggregate content from other blogs – bloggers will write abuses to your hoster for stealing content and your accounts will be deactivated. Then there’s this duplicate content penalty from google, supplemental index, etc. But do not fear, my friend!

Wordpress splog configuration:

Themes: don’t really matter, you can use the default one.

Plugins: basic SEO stuff like All-in-one-SEO-pack, seo-pager, WP-breadcrumbs, Canonical Urls etc. (I’ll soon make one of my WP-splog builds public, so stay tuned ;). + Plugins for aggregating content. Wp-o-Matic does a good job, and it’s free! Caffeinated content parses Yahoo! Answers by given keywords and wonderfully solves the problem of duplicate content and, uhm, content aggregation and abuses. To avoid abuses  use an abuse-free hosting. To make content unique synonymize  it! There are some plugins that let you aggregate content and synonimize it on the fly. Snap. Oh, and remember, that splogs must, at least, pay for themselves (domain and hosting).  Adsense will do the job most of the time, but in some niches you might even try to monetize splogs with affiliate marketing.

Buying links.

The good old way, which is not that good anymore.

Sign up at Text Link Ads as an advertiser, find sites in your niche, generate anchor texts with your keywords and, well, place your links on these sites. The price that you’ll have to pay to rank high in SERPS depends on your keywordsm and the price of the links depends on the PR of the link selling site. 

There’s also a neat service from Fantomaster – 10 links a day for those of you who value their time, or are just plain lazy ;)

So, I stayed in online business, got a load of unfinished projects (an digital store, image hosting, social network, and dozens of small niche sites) that need love, passion and patience to be popular and irresistible. But patience is what I really lack so it’s all really complicated. Whatever. Been researching and experimenting a lot lately, so I’ve chosen to try myself at black-hat SEO. No spam or whatever, just want to dig into this mysterious niche. So quite a lot of my future blog posts will be dedicated to black-hat techniques. You can find some incredible tips at Blue Hat SEO.

It kind of looks like Muxtape (in the good old times, when it was still active) and has the functionality of twitter. This is what happens after you sign up.

• You type in a message (limited to 150 characters) and choose a song to go along with it (via a nice search form).
• You find people with similar music tastes while “blipping”, or by filling out a form of your fave artists and let the system handle the search. You follow those people, listen to their blips, give out props (a token of appreciation).
• As you get into blipping, more people follow you, conversations occur. And the coolest thing is that you exchange music, if that’s an appropriate way to say that. With pandora and last.fm, the system gives you relative artists, with blip.fm – people with similar tastes hit you with tunes you like. There’s also twitter  and audioscrobbler (last.fm) integration.

There are no limitations of using the service. You can play a song as long as you like, there are no annoying advertisements etc.

So firefox holds 20% of the browser market share (at least it did the last time I checked). And what makes firefox a browser of choice of tech-savvy users and people who are sick of IE? Extensions. SO my choices are:

Blockers

Adblock Plus -Blocks ads. duh.

UPD: (Thanks to Apocrypha for that) : Adblock Plus subscriptions - Not exactly a Firefox extension, subscribe to these lists. It updates the ad filters of Adblock Plus every few days. You know, new banner networks etc. pop up every day, block’em all.

Flash Block – well, It blocks flash. On old comps it can be pretty tough with sites bloated with heavy flash. Or on old comps with *nix OS’s. (damn you, Adobe, give us a good flash plugin). And it doesn’t block it completely, it just adds a button on top of blocked flash, when u press it – flash plays.

Bug Me Not – An incredible time saver. Hate to register at some unknown site? Just use bug me not, it will automatically fetch a login and password from it’s user driven database and login for ya. You most likely won’t be able to login with it’s help on paid membership sites though.

Security

NoScript – a must have for your security if you’re using Windows.

WOT – Web Of Trust, warns you about risky websites that try to scam visitors, deliver malware or send spam. (thanks to Apocrypha for that)

Social Media

Social Browse -  a plugin for… emm, it’s a whole social network in a single plugin. My socialbrowse review. Kind of. ReadWriteWeb got a good review of this useful utility.

StumbleUpon Toolbar – StumbleUpon discovers web sites based on your interests, learns what you like and brings you more. You don’t actually have to install the toolbar to use Stumble Upon, but I still choose the toolbar, I don’t like some script toolbars hanging on top of sites.

Shareaholic - A must have for any Social Media Maven. It let’s you submit a page to all of the popular social media sites like digg, mixx, twitter and so on.

Delicious Bookmarks – syncs your firefox bookmarks with your delicious.com bookmarks. ’nuff said. Must have,

Minimalism

Tiny Menu – your main menu takes up too much space? Here’s the solution.

Faviconize Tab – personal favorite. It let’s you shrink tabs so that only their favicons are visible. sweet.

Downloads

Download StatusBar – Iit’s sweet, changes the default FF download manager.

DownThem All and FlashGot should also be considered a Ninja combo for downloads.

Development

Firebug – words are not enough to describe this power. Goddamn, gimme firebug and a notepad an I can make you a website in no time.

Developer Toolbar – a set of development tools in an easy to use toolbar.

SEOquake – the only SEO plugin I use. Shows the PR, backlinks, Index, Keyword Density etc. Very nice.

Greasemonkey

Greasemonkey - the king of the parade, lets you use scripts to enhance the browsing experience.

Better Youtube, Greader, GMail – all make these services.. ehmm, better. Trust me,  just install them.

Greasefire – let’s you search for greasemonkey scripts. There are literally thousands of ‘em.

As a SEO I very much enjoy a  no follow display script. It shows which links are no followed.

Uncategorized

FireGestures – adds mouse gestures to your browser. Very customizable and extremely handy.

Gmail manager – notifies you when you’ve got new mail, multiple account management etc.

Ubiquity – Revolutionary add on. still in alpha though. Just visit the link and watch the video. It’s the future.

Read It Later – Ever stumbled upon a very interesting article, but didn’t have the time to read it and the site wasn’t worth subscribing to? This add on is the ultimate solution to this problem ;)

What I’ve missed

IE Tab – It opens pages with the Internet Explorer engine inside FF. Useful for sites that don’t support Firefox (yeah, these still exist, what neanderthals) And for developers who want to test how their work look in IE. (Thanks for reminding me about that, Ici)

And if you use social media a lot, i Totally recommend you to install the Flock Browser. It’s based on the same gecko engine as firefox and all of firefox’s add ons work for flock. Try it.

Titles and Descriptions

Titles are vital. Make sure every page on yor site/blog has a relevant, keyword rich and unique title.

So if the page is about, say, Real estate in Arizona make sure that the title looks like "Real Estate in Arizona. Best offers on real estate", notice that the "real estate" keyword is duplicated in the title, this is a very nice technique to optimize your titles.

Make descriptions informative and attention catching, keywords don’t really matter here. Try to fit a short overview of the page’s content in the description.

Urls

If your url looks like "http://bestsiteintheworld/sdkakfsjfk213kfjaksjf" it won’t do you no good.

• Try to make urls human understandable and make them keyword rich.
• Also keep in mind that search engines ignore word like "to, from, and" etc in the links.
• Don’t make urls too long, Google hates it.

Cross Linking

Make sure that the pages of your site are cross linked in every way possible with good keyword link anchor text.

Make search engines bot live’s easier :D try to cross link your content so when the bot hits the frontpage – it indexes every page of the site. Say, you have a news site, just add 2 links to the bottom of every article: previous: Name of article and Next: Name of article. Breadcrumbs are a good thing to have too.

Avoid duplicate content

There’s a real nasty thing @ Google called "Supplemental index",  where they put web pages that aren’t going to rank for anything important. I have unique content on my site, why would I worry about something like that, you might say. Wrong, there are convenient things for users such as tags, archives etc. which duplicate the content right at your site. Say, you have a "I am Awesome" article at your blog. You tag it with pure awesomeness tag, put it in  3 categories, and it goes to archives. Oh my, that’s hell lot of duplicates for Google’s bot. So it goes to the supplemental index and isn’t ranked the way you wanted it to.

Make sure you deny the search engine bots access to pages like these and you’ll do fine. It can be done either by adding the "nofollow" attribute to the link, or by denying these pages in the robots.txt file (this way is easier better).

Create a robots.txt file and put in the root folder of your site/blog. Read this robots.txt faq for more information how to disallow search engine bots from indexing content you don’t want it to index.

Hey. A few days ago, I’ve stumbled upon socialbrowse.com FireFox addon. Seriously, I haven’t payed much attention to the text description of the service, I just saw a screenshot that looked like the People bar in Flock browser and with a thought "hell yeah, now I can get it for FireFox too" I just downloaded the plugin.

Well i was all "wtf?" after the browser restart, but I felt really lazy about uninstalling it and restarting my beloved browser again, so I just decided to take a closer look at socialbrowse.
I was surprised at first when I found out that It’s a new social media sharing service that operates through a firefox extension.

After a few minutes of toying around, registering an account at socialbrowse.com and trying it out I’ve decided to keep it an use it.

It gave me an impression of a Frankenstein that is made of parts of other social media :) Why?

• Flock-like "People" sidebar
• Digg-like categories
• Twitter-like following
• StumbleUpon-like review/comment system and the general mechanism of sharing.

But it seems like this is some good quality Frankenstein, the pieces are stitched together in perfect harmony.

Ok, so the extension consists of the bar and 3 lil buttons: 1 for the SocialBrowse bar, 1 for the sharing, and 1for the comments. You can share and comment pages without leaving the page. Go to socialbrowse.com and choose people to follow, just like you do with twitter etc. The social Bar shows you the shared stuff of people that u follow. A little not annoying popup at the right bottom corner of the screen appears when someone you follow shares something.

What really pisses me off is the moronic digg-like categorizing. It’s good for the general public, but hell, where in Gods name should i Submit a SEO article?  I guess reddit-like categorizing and customization would be really cool for the already not bad social utility.

Ok, so how do you install that plugin? Unfortunately, the developers decided to implement the retarded Invitation system that is ain’t doing them any good. I’ve still got 9 left, so if you’re interested  – contact me via the contact form, or by any of  these social networks.

Automattic guys did a great job and created a theme that can turn your wordpress into a nifty group microblog.

Basically It’s your own group twitter! Why the hell would anyone want that functionality? Well, think about it, the possibilities are endless. The coolest thing is that you can post any media you want. The second great feature is that It is a cute minimalistic group blog. So what does it give us? Imagine, you and your friends working on a website or anything else. Everyone posts updates on the work in the microblog. Work collaboration. or you and your mates decide to make a quote, video, audio, link collection. Simple, fast, minimalistic, categorized and most importantly – your own, customizable in any way microblog.

And hey, It’s so simple to set up! Just install the worpress theme and a few plugins and you’re ready to go!
