Officially, Apollo 17, launched December 17th, 1972 was the last manned mission to the moon. But a year later, in December of 1973, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it’s the real reason they’ve never gone back to the moon, but they probably just want you to buy the Blu-ray, so I wouldn’t listen the them…..

Stargate Universe Blu-ray £12.00

I think this made it to 2 seasons before it was cancelled by SyFy. Unjustly in my view. Compared to the other entries in the stargate franchise this was more serious, sombre affair with Robert Carlyle putting in a solid performance as the brilliant, but flawed doctor Nicholas Rush who along with Colonel Everet Young (Justin Louis) lead a team of soldiers, scientists and civilians as they find themselves trapped on a ship, named Destiny, which is headed on a course they are unable to alter. On the way they make many discoveries about the Universe, as well as themselves.

£12.00 is a great price with this 5 disc set selling for £35 elsewhere.

Personally I didn’t watch this, preferring instead to watch Grimm for my re-imagined fairytale fix. This is from the official blurb:

Now that Blu Ray has been around for quite some time, the studios are (true to form) trying to find more ways to make us part with our hard-earned. As with DVD’s, one of these ways is by re-releasing movies in STEEL BOOK format. Our existing steel-book page was a bit out of date so we’ve completely revamped it with the latest titles.
