It seems to me that when I do the research that the airline that consistently has the best price LAX to BKK is China Air. They put their best planes on this run and they fill them up regularly. I just used them recently and they have new generation seats which slide forward as well as backward, which makes a huge difference for long haul flight comfort. They do skimp in one area that I wouldn’t mind paying more for, and that is no fruit juices between meals, I suck down as much vitamin C as I can to try to prevent getting colds and flu’s on the flights. The other thing is that they do not offer a way to clean the seat area when you first get on the flight which is something that I also try to do on every flight I take.

China Air Flight Los Angeles to Bangkok, do have the best entertainment system for economy seats that I have experienced, with lots of movies and TV shows that starts and stop on demand, as well as a very cool interactive map that is fun to play with.

I usually like to get a United Airlines frequent flyer miles, so I normally look to Star Alliance, but something that I learned recently is that China Airlines will let you cash in your miles as soon as you have some to get discounts on their all ready cheap flights to Bangkok, so you can save even more.

I recieved a interesting email today that I am going to put underneath if you are interested in checking it outfrom a guy that claims that if you stay at cheap hotels in Asia that he claims that he has a band that you can attach to your luggage and that it will prevent you from bring bedbugs home with you. I find this a bit hard to believe myself, but then I also don't believe that flea collars work but they do so call me sceptical.

Cheap Bangkok Flights ?

On Cheap Bangkok flights I always have a problem sleeping in the cramped positions so I was surprised when I actually slept a lot of the flight to Bangkok do to the new chairs on the updated China air 747 from LAX to BKK, the seats slide forward giving the felling if not the actual increase in the angle of the recline and it really felt much better.

The other thing that you will notice on this again the cheapest flight to Bangkok that I could find at the last minute deal on, the Boeing airplane was also equipped with a great entertainment system that had a large selection probably at least 10 movies and then lots of TV shows as well as a very cool interactive map that you could manipulate and you could even send text messages via SMS if you had a credit card or debit card with you Very cool a big cheap Charlies Thumbs up for that!

The only thing that I would improve would be the food it was good but I was hungry soon after, to be fair they did have sandwiches and fresh fruit available but on long flights I like to get myself into a food comma which is usually when I will get a short cat nap in.

Best Deal Asia Flights China Air?

I use to take China Air for many trips over to Asia especially Bangkok as Eva and China Air almost always had the best deals Asia cheap flights, however for the past few years I have been getting good rates on Star Alliance Partners either with Asiana which if you are going to Bangkok, routes through Pudong Airport in Inchon or United going through Saigon Vietnam.
At the last minute I had to make a change to my flight reservation and when I called United to get my cheap flight changed on one way they wanted almost $100 more for the change than I paid for the round trip! So I hopped online to see what was available. The best deal that I could find to get to Bangkok at the last minute and China Air was the only game in town, everything else was a couple hundred dollars more on a one way ticket.

I remember that the thing that I really hated about the China Air flight schedule was that there was a 6 hour layover at Chaing Kai Sheck Airport in Taipei, which is besides LAX the worst airport in the world, there was no internet and the food and drink was horrible and to add insult to injury they were charging 5 star prices. I use to bring a pool mattress and a alarm clock and sleep on the terminal floor it was that bad. Well they have made some improvements to the airport but thankfully the layover was only 2 hours which after a bathroom break and stretching your legs was a easy one to do.

Come On Air Asia Who are you kidding with this No Admin fee and then you are charging a convenience fee to use a credit card to book a flight on AirAsia, do you really think that the traveling public is that stupid that we would accept this as anything but a Convenience to your stock holders? Tell me how I can book a flight without a credit card, because if I call your flight reservations center to book a flight I get charged more for the Convenience of talking to a air ticket specialist and I still have to use a credit card! The only way you can book a flight otherwise is to go to a Air Asia ticket office and I am trying to remember if you have one in Los Angeles or Aspen or Chicago?

Is it a Convenience to the flying public or a Convenience to you that if your security for credit cards is faulty and you get decertified to accept them, is that a inconvenience to us or to Air Asia? Gee I guess that if you use a direct debit that is a good way to go then the cost is bore by the customer that is convenient that I get charged more than if I paid the Convenience fee, Very convenient and you make more money because you get part of that money back right Convenient!

I guess you could show a effective business model that does not have you using credit cards, maybe send out couriers to collect cash or maybe we could mail cash to you, or hey, we can hire somebody to bring a payment to you, or hey everyone can make a savings account with you and keep cash in it just in case they want the Convenience of booking a flight with you! Really for 50 baht didn't make more sense to just include it in the Airfare and not say anything at all?

In Asia Cheap hotels they all use point of use hot water heaters and they work very well and very cheap on energy use. The reason that we allways hear on why nobody uses them in the US is that they don't work well with cold water.

It never occurs to anyone that the solution to this is to leave the old hot water heaters in and just use them as pre heaters. You could turn them down to lets say 70 degrees and then becuase you are holding the water at basically room tempature the water heater would only be bringing the water up to this temp and then holding it at room temp which would save big bucks.

It is estimated that the point of use water heaters are 40% more efficient this can go a long way toward your next travel adventure in Asia!

For many people spending time in the tropics of Asia makes a lot more sense than being in the frozen north countries, as such the cheap Asian Flights that you can normally find at the last minute tend to dry up and you are stuck paying more for the airfares to Asia than you would at other times of the year so what can you do to keep the cost of your air travel down.

Cheap Charley in Aspen, and I am not the only one, as all of the cheaper hotels are full and the more expensive ones people seem to be watching there budget a bit more than usual which considering the current economic situation makes perfect sense.

We are seeing that the budget hotels like the Lime Light and the Molly Gibson seem to be doing OK this winter season and another hotel that seems to be fairly busy is the Silvertree in Snowmass.

The general consensus is that this year is going to be a little slower than years past but that it will not be catastrophic as some had anticipated.

Fried rice with crabmeat
Ingredients
100g cooked crabmeat
1 1/2 cups cooked rice
1 tbsp.spring onions finely sliced
1 tbsp. onion diced
1 tbsp. tomato diced
1 tesp. chopped garlic
1 tesp. fish sauce or to taste
1tesp. soy sause or to taste
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 Egg
Sliced cucambers,spring onions and lime
Preparations
Heat the oil in a wok.When it is hot,fry the garlic until fragrant,then add crab meat,onion ,tomato stir to mixfor 3 minutes.scramble the egg in until cooked and add rice,season with fish sauce,soy sause and sugar continue to stir-fry until well mixed and add spring onions. Serve with cucumbers,fresh spring onions,lime and sprinkle with ground pepper on top of fried rice.
Tip; The crab meat can be substituted by chicken,Pork or schrimp but with this meat you have to cook it very well before add cooked rice.
The steamed rice have to be cool not hot before you cooking!

I have been out on the road in Asia for the past 8 months and I am defiantly seeing some really good deals. In the past 3 months especially as there are fewer travelers, so business owners are interested in getting heads in beds so that they can make their monthly nut and stay open. The best hotel deals are when you can stay for a while like 7 days or more.

In the Philippines I recently stayed at the Westpoint in and was paying around $17 a night for a very clean, large, TV, Air Con, Free Wifi hotel in downtown Cebu City.

Currently i am in Bangkok Thailand and I have a simalar deal of a really cheap room in Bangkok Sukhumvit area. Again free WiFI and as allways with all of the cheap rooms I stay in the room is ensuite and the hangkok hotel owner likes me so she included a TV and I went and bought a small DVD Very happy withthe this ThaiHouse room.

It was not that long ago most of the banks in Asia had where you could withdraw money fee free, then you were just getting hit with the credit card fees that your bank was charging you, which for some people like the ones that the fees would mean nothing to, the ones with lots of money in the bank or the ones from special interest groups like the US government savings and loans, would not get hit, but all other’s would get creamed, finally in the US the banks are getting ready for the new Credit Card law to come into effect in Feb 2010 which will even out the field for a while.

Last night I needed cash and noticed that the banks all said you could pull out large amounts, but they would refuse the large amount and only give you a smaller amount, well makes perfect sense if you are the bank, and you are getting 150 baht per transaction, which hey its only 150 baht, but that my friends these days in nearly $5 USD per transaction, not even the crooks in the US are that high. So on 10,000 baht you are paying the Thai Banks to pull your money or 1.5% now at 20000 baht that is .75 but better yet 30000 baht would be .5 even better for you but hey lets take more because we can just like the US Banks. Now of course don’t forget between the US and Thai banks they give you a horrible foriegn exchange rate why because they can and there was a class action suit about this CCF Class action that the credit cards lost but guess how much of the money that they lost in the lawsuit that they have paid to the members of the class action suit That’s right you guessed it the first time the banks don’t pay penalties they only charge them.

Aspen airport has closures for various reasons most often for wind and snow. Many times when Aspen is closed, other Colorado airports like Eagle Vail, Rifle, Grand Junction and Denver International, DIA are open and flights are coming in and out. Aspen Airport Shuttles can get you to these other Colorado airports, even on some of the worst Aspen snow days to catch your connecting flights.

Aspen has a bus shuttle that goes Denver to Aspen whose main advantage is being one of the least expensive options to go from Denver to Aspen. The main negative is that if Vail Pass is closed you are going to be stuck on the bus, or trying to get a room with 40 or more other passengers. For this reason many people will opt for a charter limousine which is better in the snow and as it is a smaller load it is easier to find accommodations should the passes be closed. The other options are shuttles that are not 4x4 or small taxis.

I espically like it as the ingrediants needed are very inexpensive and readly available. They are saying it is not a problem here which I am finding hard to believe as people cough straigt at you all the time and they are visably sick.

Prevent Swine Flu - Good Advice

Hospital , Saifee Hospital , Tata Memorial etc.. Presently, he is

The following message given by him, I feel makes a lot of
sense and is important for all to know

The only portals of entry are the nostrils
and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this
nature, it's almost impossible to avoid coming into contact with H1N1 in
spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a
problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing
any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation,
aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary
infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted in most official
communications, can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95
or Tamiflu):

1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted
in all official communications).

2. "Hands-off-the-face"
approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of
face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

3. *Gargle
twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if
you don't trust salt).
*H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the
throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms.
Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has
the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected
one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful
preventative method.

4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils
at least once every day with warm salt water. *Not
everybody may be good at Jala Neti or Sutra Neti (very good Yoga asanas to
clean nasal cavities), but *blowing the nose hard once a day and
swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water
is very effective in bringing down viral population.*

5. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (Amla
and other citrus fruits). *If you have to supplement with Vitamin C
tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.

6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea,
coffee, etc) as you can. *Drinking warm liquids has
the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off
proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they
cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

I suggest you pass this on to your
entire e-list. You never know 20 who might pay
attention to it - and STAY ALIVE because of it.

Spicy Chicken Soup with Coconut Milk

Ingrediants

200g Chicken breast sliced

100g straw mushrooms cut in to half

3 kaffir lime leaves tkorn into pieces

2 Sticks lemongrass cut into 1" long

5 galangal sliced thinly

2 thai coriander leaves cut 1" long

3-6 Red small chillies bruised

1 cups of chicken stock

2 cups of coconut milk

3 tablespoons lime juice ar to taste

4 tablespoons Fish sauce or to taste

1/2 teaspoon sugar

Preparations

Bring the coconut milk to the boil over medium heat. Add the chicken, galangal, lemongrass and mushrooms continue boiling until cooked, Add seasonings, fish sauce, lime juice, sugar and chilies, Remove from the heat,

Garnish with coriander leaves, kaffir lime leaves, serve with rice.
Hint: Diminish, the amount of chillies if you don't want the soup to be too hot.
Tip: Cook gently to prevent the coconut milk from separating.

Here.u r ! Panaeng Moo reciepe " Dry pork curry " 250 g. can be pork or beef, cut in to stirips .31/2 tablespoons panaeng curry paste. 1/2 cup of coconut cream.1 cup of coconut milk. 2 tablespoons fish sauce or to taste. 1 tablespoon palm sugar or to taste. 1 tablespoon ground roasted peanuts or with out it. 5 kaffir lime leaves, torn in half. 2 large red chilly, thinly sliced. Heat coconut cream until some of the oil surfaces, then add the curry paste and slowly bring to the boil, stirring constantly.Put in pork strips and cook 3 minutes add remaing coconut milk than the rest of ingredients except for kaffir lime leaves , chilly, stir well and simmer until the meat is tender. Add the kaffir lime leaves ,chilli and remove from the heat ,serve with steamed rice.Helpful hints; Coconut cream is the thick coconut milk and coconut milk is obtained by adding more water but not to thin milks.The spicy come from the panaeng paste so, if you dont want to spicy ! you can put it less or more ! goodluck...

For Cebu cheap flights in the Philippines there are not a whole lot of options Cebu Pacific and Philippines Air are going to be your best choices, there are some other options like Sea Air but they are on the smaller regional airlines and you run the risk of cancelled flights and they so not run up to the tower. Also you might find yourself at one of the older terminals which are a pain to get to the other terminals once you are there.

We were having fits trying to book Cebu Pacific flights online as there booking engine will not accept foreign credit cards and as I understand it they sometimes don't like local Filipino banks as well! I went to a Philippines travel agent and they wanted 40% more than the published price that you could get online for Cebu pacific, Of course to get that you would need a local bank credit card which most international travelers don't have.

Bangkok to Manila I tried booking a flight at the Bangkok airport and I could not do it as they do not have an office in the airport. I ended up booking my flight Bangkok to Manila in Phnom Penh, Go figure!

Philippines diving and Cebu cheap beach hotels

We spent the last 3 days in Moalboal doing scuba diving trips and we stayed at a little beach hotel that was a great deal at only 1000p a night, which works out to a little bit more than $20 a great cheap hotels on the beach for $20 is pretty hard to find except in Asia.

We had these 3 girls playing like they were models and the photos of the sunsets were as you can see awesome. We are really enjoying the Nikon D90 which is giving us some great photos as we try to learn all the features.

Bangkok LA Las Vegas Aspen!

Looking forward to the Aspen Ski Season as I make my way there again from Bangkok to LAX then overland Lake Havasu to Las Vegas, where I plan to stop for a day at my favorite new Las Vegas cheap hotel the Rivera then catch a cheap flight Las Vegas to Aspen on Frontier to Grand Junction Colorado, then to get picked up by a Aspen Airport Shuttle Service for the two hour ride to Aspen.

This year I am very excited as I will have my new Nikon D90 DSLR Camera that I am looking forward to shooting hundreds of pictures, especially when it gets to be time for the Winter X Games in Aspen.

Cheap Flights Singapore to Phnom Penh Cambodia

Cheap flights form Cambodia has allways been limited as there are only a couple of airlines flying into Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Notably Air Asia which has cheap flights to Bangkok amd KL and Bangkok Air more of a boutique air line which has flights to Bangkok as well. There use to be some Cambodian airlines but they come and go quickly.

Now it looks like Jet Saver has a regualr flight to Singapore from Phnom Penh this is good as Singapore and bangkok are the two busiest airports in the region and it is pretty easy to get connecting flights to the US Europe or Australia.

Bangkok Cheap Hotel Saving Energy

I have been staying at the Thai House Inn in Bangkok for a while now and I was talking to the owner and suggested that she make some changes to her operation to make it more eco friendly and sold the idea to her on the basis that saving energy is also saving money and if she did this she would havew a advantage over the other Bangko Cheap Hotels as she could keep the room rates lower and it would be the best deal for Bangkok Hotels on Suhkumvitt. She asked me if I could write it for her let me know if you feel that the language is too strong or what other changes that you would make to it. I found one the Fan is no extra cost if they use the fan she saves money and energy.
