If visiting Cape Cod Massachusetts, or nearly Boston, make a special trip to Cape Cod for the Cape Cod Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Hyannis. It's one of those fun things to do in Boston when you just want to get out of the city for a while. On the lower level of the John F. Kennedy Museum, this special feature takes up two rooms in the basement of the building. The Cape Cod league features top college players who come to this beach community to play for the summer. Some of these players continue on to professional leagues after college.

This museum features more than 81 members who have been inducted since 2000. Plaques are featured for every inductee as well as memorabilia from the ten teams featured in the league. Autographed baseballs and bats, old photographs and even the original charter of the league are on display. There are special displays showing the correlation between professional baseball and some player’s start on Cape Cod. More than one thousand alumni of the league have played in the majors or have been on the injured reserve lists.

A video display features films about the baseball league including Summer Catch, which was actually filmed at the league and a documentary, Touching the Game. Viewers get to relax in old Fenway Park seats to watch the movies. One highlight of this league is the continued use of wooden bats, a challenge for some of the college players.

Alumni featured in the museum include Barry Zito, Jason Varitek, Luke Scott, Carlos Pena, Scott Maine, Chad Huffman, Tyler Green and Daniel Bard. A list of each year’s alumni is featured prominently at the museum.

The Cape Cod Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and noon to 5 pm on Sundays. Admission is $5 for adults or free with the Go Boston card. It is about an hour outside of Boston and has many great restaurants and beaches close by.

In 2009, the Saturdays announced their first music tour, titled ‘The Work Tour’ (the name was inspired by a single from the Chasing Lights album named ‘Work’). The tour consisted of 27 concerts and was staged in England, Scotland and Wales. This Saturdays Concert Tour was so popular that six of the concert dates were sold out. During the tour, Vanessa sustained a foot injury and had to remain seated on stage for several shows. The final concert was staged at the Manchester Apollo and coincided with the date of the Michael Jackson memorial service. The Saturdays announced that they had been watching the memorial service backstage and therefore in retrospect of Michael Jackson, they sang the Jacksons ‘Blame It on the Boogie’. The brass guitar was played by McFly’s Dougie Poynter during the song ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’.

The second Saturdays Concert Tour is titled ‘The Headlines Tour’ (in recognition of the ‘Headlines!’ project) and will be staged in England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland. The specialty in this tour is that this is the first time that the Saturdays will be performing outside UK. The tour dates will be from 5^th February 2011 to 2^nd March 2011 (These are the beginning and end dates. Concerts will not be staged on all these days inclusive).
