I looked into various PA systems for our Rotary club. We have a great PA built into a lecturen. But it was too heavy to move easily and it did not have the capacity for a wireless microphone. Our club was conflicted about buying a new PA system, when many cost $1000 on up. I found the Pyle PWM-A600 and read the reviews. It looked good for our purposes and the price was amazing, under $130! I found some other systems and sent the information to my board. Our techies liked the Pyle PWM-A600, so we decided to try it. It worked perfectly for a room with about 60 people. Both mikes are shielded on the sides, so you have to speak right into the center of the mike about one inch away. Sometimes the amp buzzes a bit then goes away. I bought a lavaliere mike at Radio Shack for $50 and it works well with it. It been great so far for these 3 months. Great buy!I Love You Madly! The Pyle 100-Watt PA System is truly compact and portable. It operates off its own battery, so charge it up before you use it. I don't know how long the battery will power the unit, but I use it at a poetry venue at a Barnes and Noble which lasts two hours, and the unit worked flawlessly the entire time. For the medium-to-small venue area (four rows of five chairs plus additional seating), the PA System was turned up to maximum volume, but did an above-average job in filling the area with sound. Poets we had not been able to hear before (because they fail to project) were heard clearly for the first time. For such a small, easily carried unit, it delivers more sound than you would expect.

I don't know all the uses, but I purchased this so that my grandchildren could put on shows and get comfortable using a microphone which they are doing now in camp. The two microphones are a great idea as two can "be on stage" at the same time.

They love to sing and speak using the microphone and I think it is giving them confidence to speak in front of a group. As for the quality, I have only used it in my home - in a very large play area - and it works great.

Great for office!

I read many of the reviews of this product, then ordered it hoping my experience would be like the majority of consumers (4-5 stars). I wanted these speakers for my desk at work so I could listen to my iPod on low volume (since work blocks most music sites like Pandora and I like to listen while I type). I can keep the power flowing by plugging into a USB port on my computer. The volume and quality is great for the purpose. Not stereo quality of course, but really nice for $4 speakers! Not tinny at all, and no feedback or other annoying noises.
Note that the hook-up is through the headphone jack, so they should work with pretty much any mp3 player. The jack is on the bottom of the iPod Touch, so I can't put the iPod in the little stand (unless I put it upside-down), but the cord is long enough to lay the iPod on the desk next to the speakers.
Overall, no complaints here! I've been told that I need to order a set for my husband now.

For the money, they are great. I laughed when they arrived. I'm glad I didn't bet if they work I would eat my hat. I am impressed with these, they are not going to blow you away with power. But they do work well for situations that you want to share your music with friends that are nearby and not bother those that are farther away. They fold up to fit in almost any pocket. We have used them on our boat fishing, grilling out, public picnic areas, beach, etc. And they sound better than I thought they would. I am impressed. If you want something that your going to blast, buy something else, but also buy these, for the money you will find situations that they are handy.

By that price you will not obtain anything better. They do not hope either that it is of hi-fi, but this very well. Perhaps only they need that they update plug and to put it underneath; new iPod is connected underneath and this forces to put it in the base the other way around. But very good, the batteries last much.

Recieved the speakers today and I loved it. As I already have the AC Adapter it was even better as no need to connect it to the computer or no need to use batteries. You cant really beat this price in the market for the quality of sound these speakers generate.

This was a great item we needed it quickly for the children's demonstration. It arrived safely packed and quickly. Easy to use and transport. Compact and not too heavy for even the kids to pack around. Would be nice if it had a protective cover and a way to keep cords attached to the unit but we managed. It has a great output for sound even if not using an I-Pod. Would definitely recommend it for activites that require music and/or speaking to audience. The Block Rocker rocked the block until the battery stopped working 3 years later. I called Ion (gettting in contact with them is near impossible) to get a replacement battery and they are on back order for over a month at $99/battery. I would never pay $99 for a battery which is half the price I paid for the unit.

I love this thing. I have both a block-rocker and a tail-gater. We use them for our wedding business, and have never had a problem with either, despite hauling them all over the place in our van and using them on the beach. They are reasonably priced, good quality, and easy to use.

The block rocker is a little heavy to really carry around (though it does have wheels and a handle), but the tail gater doesn't pack enough punch (audio wise) for large outdoor gatherings. So I wish they made something in between. But otherwise I love them both.

In fact, I am logged on right now to order another one of each for one of our other offices!

I actually received a defective product at first, but Amazon's amazing customer service and return policy quickly (amazingly quick, in fact!) corrected the problem. The new product appears to work well, and my wife (for whom I bought the amp) is happy with the new unit so far. All in all, a good purchasing experience -- but mainly thanks to Amazon, rather than to the product itself. The amp may be fine, but I can't help but feel hesitant about the manufacturer's quality control after the first device's failure. For some reason, it seems a lot of companies are skipping the quality assurance stage these days, and frankly, that's getting tiresome.

This replaces a Harmony 1000 that was a virtual paperweight. It set up easy and after a few tweaks runs my system perfectly. It does suck that you can't do macros, but I knew that coming into it so I can't complain. I just needed a remote that could be used by anyone to get my TV, Receiver, Blu-Ray and DVD changer to work together... and it does that flawlessly. No missed signals and just a few tweaks on delays and it works 100% of the time. It's also very easy to switch to run individual components. All in all, it's great.

I consider myself a savvy tech user. I would have imagined that others buying this remote would be too. That's why I found the setup process almost too dumbed down, making fine tuning adjustments difficult for "power" users. However, after playing with the software for a couple of hours I have been able to get the remote to do pretty much whatever I've wanted it to do. Sometimes I'll be sitting there and want it to perform a task that I've never considered before. I go to the software and setup a macro on the touch screen buttons, and wha-lah! It works very well, is incredibly customizable, looks great, and I've had no problems with its use. Great remote.

No Problems So Far

So far .. so good. Hopefully they got the button problems worked out. Also the contacts on the remote and charge cradle are a lot bigger - that's good. I guess my main gripe is that it seems to be really slow. Controlling the Guide Screen on DirecTV , it seems like a couple of seconds before the screen pops up .... makes you think that it didn't get the signal and you hit the button again .... only to go past what you're trying to get to because it finally acknowledges 2 button presses. Hopefully, my statement makes some sense. Overall, seems to do what I want it to do.

It must be a lot more difficult then it appears to seamlessly engineer one remote that can "intuitively" integrate all of your remotes into one, but Logitech managed to do just that. After programming my various remotes into it, which was effortless with their software, it only took a little experimentation and noodling around to learn all of its bells and whistles and I haven't had a problem with it yet. So far, I've had it for 2 weeks and haven't had to recharge it. I've put all of my old remotes in a drawer... See Ya! :)

Awesome Remote

I purchased this remote in hopes that we could go from 6 different remotes down to one. (SUCCESS) It was way to hard to explain to people staying at my house how to set everything up in order to watch a movie, play a video game, or simply watch TV. This remote has made it simple. I just have to tell them to hit the button for the activity they want and they are all set. One click to turn everything on for whatever activity they want. The baby sitter is much happier now.

It worked great on all devices except one which I knew about prior to buying the remote. You can check for your devices on Logitech's web site. I hope they add that to their list of devices soon.

Overall it was awesome. Easy to use and setup.

Excellent Universal Remote replaces 4!

This remote controls a Pioneer Elite Pro-111FD , Pioneer Elite VSX-21TXH Receiver , Directv HR23-700 DVR , and a Toshiba HD-A2 HD-DVD Player. It took a while to get the activities working properly. I needed to add a delay to the receiver in order to have its inputs switch properly. I could not add this delay through the Harmony remote site (it allows it but the setting won't transfer to the remote). Through a hint on a forum I went ahead and added the delay through the remote control itself by pressing the help button for a few seconds and going from there. I set the delay for 2000ms. After that, the activities sequences work properly. If I wam watching tv and decide to go on the internet, I just press the "PC" (name is customizable) activity on the display and the DVR turns off, the receiver switches to the pc connection for sound and the TV switches to HDMI input 5. I have an always-on Acer Aspire X1301 and PS3 that are not controlled via the Harmony 700 but are part of my home theater setup using the receiver and tv. The control's buttons are customizable if you do not want to search through the control's display. Perhaps I will get the PS3 adapter later. The display and buttons light up as soon as you pick up the remote. It looks good to have one remote laying around instead of 4!

After my wife and kids complained about the multitude of remotes needed to operate the home theater I purchased this remote. There is a learning curve with devices like these, just take your time, RTFM and go for it.
I played around with it for several days before putting away all the other remotes. Once I had everything working the way I needed it to I showed the rest of the family how to use it. On occasion it will lose track of the power state of one of my devices but a quick press of the help button always resolves the issue. The only issue is the patience factor. You do have to keep it pointed at the devices while it runs the the setup. My youngest always seems to set it down about halfway through. If your looking for a quick automatic set up look elsewhere this device will just frustrate you. If you want a device that will allow you total customizable control of your electronics these remotes work great you just need to learn how to use it. Been using this thing for several months now and have not had to pull out the OEM remotes once. Found a refurb for about half what a new one was and haven't had a single failure.

Perfect Remote

The Harmony line of remotes have been fantastic. Previous to this one I had an older 659 (I think, can't remember) that was with me for 3 or 4 years before it finally died out. Setting up these remotes couldn't be easier with the guided online wizard, and any tweaks you need to make are also easy. The only negative to setup is the overall slow speed of the sync once changes have been made and need to be applied.

I've had this model for about 3-4 years now. The USB port on my old one finally broke. The PC couldn't recognize it. I blame my kid who bangs it once in a while and I can see that area clog with dirt. I decided to buy the same one refurbished. Works great as usual. Fantastic remote at a fair price

Harmony remotes have always been my favorite. Their low-end models (without the color touch screens, etc) have always been enough to control my various home theater setups over the years, and the 670 is perfect for controlling the TiVo HD. I get about a month of use on a set of rechargeable AAA batteries, and although the remote doesn't have a built-in battery charger, it's not hard to pop out the batteries and put them in the charger overnight. I had to do nothing special at all to upgrade to this 670 from my previous Harmony 659, as the Windows software did all the upgrading for me. I Highly recommend this model!

I was so spoiled with my first Logitech Harmony I couldn't wait to buy another one for another location. I now have 4 harmony remotes, one for each room. This last one, the 650, replaces another harmony which did not have the primary color buttons for more convenient use with my satellite provider on the front. I could certainly use the customized screen to create colored buttons but as these are buttons that I use frequently, I typically use that LCD screen for less commonly used options like aspect ratio or subtitle toggle. Don't worry I gave my neighbor the old harmony to audition with his system. He'll soon be adopting a harmony mindset and replace remotes throughout his house, I am sure. I love the harmony remote controls.

Grea Video Quality- HD and even when I zoom in it still comes out fantastic. I don't quite feel the photos work the same with the zoom. For some reason the pictures are a little pixelated when I zoom in all the way, but the videos are not. I'm not sure the technicality of why the zoom works better with the video than with the photos, but it doesn't stop me from loving this camera. It's still FAR better than any other zoom camera I've used.

Great camera for the price!

I bought this camera for my girlfriends birthday to replace her broken camera. What can I say? This camera is fantastic!! The number of features the camera has is perfect including the 14 MP image quality, 8x optical zoom, 15/30/60 second shutter speed for nighttime shots, movie mode, continuous picture mode, etc.

The camera has a few weaknesses, but out of a $150 digital point-and-shoot, that is to be expected. Under low level lighting with full zoom, the picture quality gets grainy and the video mode needs a Class 6 or better memory card. Low level lighting in general is a challenge for the camera. Controls are fairly intuitive, LCD screen is big and bright. The camera, for what it is worth, is a great camera and could rival those that are much more expensive. For a simple point-and-shoot fit-in-the-pocket camera, this gets an A+.

Our Fuji Finepix 3600 finally bit the dust after 6 years of very good service. We had never felt the need to replace it because the pictures were good enough for our use. How wrong we were. The pictures from this Panasonic camera are so much clearer, the colors more vivid, the details sharper. It was dramatic. My wife can even take good pictures with this camera, previously all of hers were blurry now they are sharp. Our dogs wagging tail is clear instead of blurry (It is seldom still). It took excellent pictures in bright sunlight and dark interior. It seems well made, not cheap. It did not come with a photo card so be sure to order one. I did not know there were different classes within the cards. other reviews and the instructions say if you plan to take videos you need at least a class 6 SD card. We have one ordered. For now we have a cheap 4GB Class 4 Sandisc SDHC card and it has done very well but have not taken any videos with it. Overall and excellent buy and I highly recommend it.

This camera is the best value out there for the money. The combination of wide angle lens and 18X zoom works great for a shot at any distance. Menus are easy to use, and the "auto" mode makes good selections and is very easy to use. I wish the sunshade had a little more rigid mounting, but it does work well. I am a total amateur, but the camera takes really great photos without a lot of photography knowledge.

I am so pleased with my purchase. After months of research and the thought of purchasing a DSLR I opted for the Lumix. I decided that ultimately I wanted something lightweight and the Lumix FZ 35 has far exceeded my expectations. I consider myself an amateur photographer and take a lot of wildlife photos, I am really happy with the quality, the choices on the menu and the overall performance of the camera. Panasonic is my preferred camera at this point. I also own a smaller Panasonic Lumix point and shoot which I still have as well. If someone travels a lot and does a lot of outdoor activities I totally recommend this camera for its overall quality and performance.

Very Impressive Photos

I wanted to downsize from a dSLR to a smaller camera because the bigger camera was just too heavy to lug around my neck all day especially since I had a zoom lens on it. I also wanted a small camera that had a viewfinder. Sometimes you just can't see that back screen well enough to take a good picture. Of course I wanted to have the option of manually setting camera speed, aperture etc. plus I wanted, perhaps, to take a short video of some amazing scene on one of my trips.

I bought the Panasonic FZ-35 and have had it now for about 6 months. It takes absolutely gorgeous photos...crisp images, accurate colors in all lighting situations. The camera's IntelligentAuto is often smarter than I am and takes a better balanced picture than I do. I now do very little editing with photo software. As I expected, the viewfinder comes in handy for some shots. The camera is light and easy to carry around all day even hanging around my neck. I have an impressive zoom lens.

I've gone through a slew of large and small cameras looking for one that produced sharp photos and that didn't require that I take extra lens with me. I finally found what I was looking for in this camera and would recommend its purchase to anyone. I'd put my photos up against those from a dSLR anytime.

I purchased this camera after reading reviews about many other cameras of this type. I was influenced to buy by the screen size, the GPS feature, and other reviews. I also looked at photos taken by other photographers with the camera.
Although I have not had the chance to sit down with the manual (which you have to print out--bummer!) and go through all of the features, the point and shoot photos I've taken have been outstanding. I like the video feature and the better microphone than my old Nikon. I look forward to learning to use this camera to its full capacity before I go to Japan in December.

Lightweight, good screen, easy to use so far, many features--what's not to like? It's a little more spendy than I had planned, but not bad, considering all the features.

Just what I wanted

I'm a total amateur photgrapher but you rarely see me without my camera- I use it all the time. After extensive reading of the consumer reviews including the comments to the reviews,and my own list of why I want a new camera after 5 years of using a Canon Powershot, I bought the ZS7 Lumix. It has enough zoom for me, a metal case, and first of all a great Leica lense. The only bad reviews of this camera turned out to be things like "Can't turn GPS off so it eats your battery, or "Can't buy a generic battery for it"- none of it is true. I immediately turned off the GPS, and if I ever need it, I know how turn it back on. I have taken beautiful pictures of flowers, great night skylines. Tried the party setting, candle light setting and pin hole setting and liked the results. It doesn't wash out the colors like my old Canon, it takes decent low-light pictures but the most amazing is the 12X plus zoom. I also like to mention that the quality of the color blue is close to reality- a real problem with my Canon before. For a camera that's easy to carry, easy to use under $300 I am just thrilled.

The DMC-ZS7 is an excellent camera that takes excellent pictures. I have really enjoyed the GPS function and have found that if you leave it in airplane mode it does not use much of the battery power. I really like bringing the pictures up in Picasa and being able to see exactly where the pictures were taken. Once you turn the camera on it will register your gps location fairly soon after being powered up. I have owned the camera for approximately 3 weeks and have taken many pictures and not one of them has been bad. I have taken pictures both inside and outside. The zoom capability on this camera is fantastic.

nuvi 855 to Utah

The nuvi 855 arrived about one week before our planned trip to SE Utah. Learning the basic commands took less than an hour. The next day I took the nuvi along on some local errands and was pleasantly surprised with the numerous displays of local content and side roads yet to be explored. However, the most impressive feature feature was the rapid route "recalculation" done whenever I intentionally chose a road other than the one initially suggested.

Once we were on the road to Utah, the nuvi display information was even more helpful than expected. The nuvi calculated mph was actually more accurate than our RV's speedometer and the display of local speed limits was very helpful. Also loved the "estimated time of arrival" feature which helped us determine our targets for the next overnite destination. The POI lisitng for fuel stops, restaurants and services were also very helpful.

My wife and I both love exploring backroads and out of the way places, so the part we appreciated most was the freedom to head "off-track" and have the nuvi quickly reroute us and update the eta, so we felt confident we would eventually find our way back to the original destination. Great fun.

Great Features Very Good Value

I would definitely recommend this GPS. A year ago we got lost for 2 hours while driving to our vacation spot, so I had vowed to have a GPS before we went this year. I wanted a back up in case I missed a turn. I then took the past year looking at and evaluating GPS models, trying to determine what I thought had the most useful features for the money. I eventually narrowed my search to Garmin focusing on 3 models, the 855, the 885T, and the 765T. I eventually decided on the 855. I liked the voice recognition and I found it very useful on the trip. I may have bought the 885T, but I did not feel that the Bluetooth and the included traffic receiver were worth the additional $100+. The 765T included traffic, but did not have voice recognition. I am very happy with my decision and I would make the same choice if I had to do it again.

Nuvi 855

I puchased this product with some hesitations after reading on other reviews of this unit locking up. Well, it happens on my unit as well. I just slide the power button over for about 8 seconds and it resets the unit. I guess I live with it because as a sales rep, I am a heavy user, and the voice recognition is simply amazing. Very accurate, and definately the best feature that I have ever used on a GPS!

That's What Made It Even More Impressive

This Flip MinoHD camcorder is amazing-- the ideal thing for any family hoping to videotape the kids, friends, events, etc. First of all, it's completely idiot proof: when you get the box, there is absolutely no assembly required. Your first guess about which buttons are the power switch, record button, and USB connector release will be correct; great intuitive design. The device looks and feels great (as other reviewers have mentioned) and easily fits in your hand comfortably for long periods of time (unlike my blackberry). It turns on and off instantly (unlike my home computer or cell phone) so you don't have to wait long to start recording that precious, fleeting moment.

The screen is a bit larger than the previous Flip Mino, but that's not a big deal. Image quality is better than ever, and not too shaky/bouncy. The USB connector is about the same-- still very convenient, easy to connect, and you don't have to go running to find any special USB connector cable (like my old digital camera). The audio is surprisingly good, picking up faint background sounds that I hadn't even noticed at the time of recording and picking up simultaneous music and voices, near and far, with great quality. The 2-hour battery life is more than I ever use, so it's great, but I figure people who are videotaping entire concerts or watching grass grow might complain. Honestly I haven't made use of the HD resolution, but I'm sure that will be fantastic when I start making my own rainforest nature shows. In the meantime, the HD quality is better than anything I'll ever need. By the way, I know other reviewers have said they can make the camcorder freeze up by zooming in or out during recording, but mine works fine even when I do that. (I purposely tried to freeze it, but couldn't.)

I saved the best for last: the Flip Video software. That's what made it even more impressive! It is ridiculously easy to setup, automatically starts when I plug in the camcorder, and makes it completely obvious how to download the videos, play back, freeze frames to make photos, and share. And it's fast-- not much waiting for videos to load up (like other video players). It's all in an easy-to-use, well-organized (by video date) layout very similar to the iPod control panel (a common comparison, it seems). I wish all software was this easy to use.

Before it you wanted to take videos of your family is required getting a large video camera, a separate bag for it, and then of course lugging it around all the time and not forgetting it so you can get those candid shot. Now with the FlipHD you can always get those memories on video whenever you want. The quality is simply amazing compared to other competitors on the market. The microphone produces great sound quality, and you rarely need to charge it. If there is one product you want to have to keep your memories intact the FlipHD is the one to have!

I bought this camera for me and my wife. We had just had our first child and we wanted to use it to capture those little moments that sometimes get by you and there's no camera around. Let me tell you it is perfect for not only that but for any other ocassion. We recently took it to the beach with us and it was great for that also. Video quality and sound is great for such a small package.

The things I did'nt like. (there were not many.)
The screen on the back gets fingerprints on it all the time, but they do wipe off easily. The screen is kinda hard to see in really bright sunlight as with any other I guess. I think it should come with an ac adapter for the price.

If I could go back I would definitely buy this camera again. It is just so handy to have around.

This is really an amazing little device. As small as a deck of playing cards (smaller, really, as it is more narrow), this little jewel easily fits into a shirt or pants pocket where it is always at the ready to capture very good quality video & sound. Notice I said "very good" and not "excellent" - but what would one expect from such a tiny video camera? If you are looking for top-of-the-line video & sound quality, look elsewhere. But, if you want very good quality from a camera that is oh-so-convenient, this is a camera you should consider.

I have used this camera to shoot video both inside & outside, and have been pleased with the results each time. Video quality is crisp and clear, even in typical interior light, and the sound quality is surprising. Simple to operate, with very functional & intuitive software, I have found this unit to be a pleasure to own & operate. I have used it on both my 15" Macbook Pro, as well as my brand new 27" iMac, and have had no problems connecting the camera both directly to USB ports on both systems, as well as using a short 6" USB extension cable that I had in my large collection of spare cables. I prefer using the cable, as I find "hanging" the Flip directly from a USB port to be a little cumbersome, but that is just my preference - again, it works fine either way. So, the previously-reported issue with Mac USB ports has been resolved.

I use the FlipShare application primarily for downloading video from the camera & for organizing my library of "raw" clips. From FlipShare, I export the video out as MP4 files - a simple task - then pull the exported videos into iMovie '09 and / or iDVD '09 on my Mac, as these are my preferred methods for editing my video clips & burning them to DVD. This process works very well for me & I have zero complaints with FlipShare (although I admittedly have not used all the features of the software).

The only negative I can come up with regarding this little gem is it's lack of a removable rechargeable battery. While the camera will hold 2 hours of video, which is also the length of time the battery will run the camera, I am concerned about when the battery has been through its lifetime recharge cycles and no longer will hold a charge. I am assuming at that time I will be able to find a repair service to install a new battery (as with iPods), as I would hate to throw it away just because the battery is dead. I almost docked it a star for this, but ultimately decided against it as I just love how convenient it is! Light and small, it is something that I can take anywhere without being burdened by large carrying cases or bags, chaffing neck straps, etc. In fact, I just slip it into my Caselogic UP-2 Universal Pockets Bag and then slip that in my pants pocket or hang it from a belt loop by the small caribiner on the bag. Very handy & out of the way! Highly recommended...

Love at first Flip

This is my first video camera of any kind, and I am totally in love. I'm a bit technologically challenged, and so was pleasantly surprised to discover that the "set up" of this camera was easier than setting the time on my sports watch, and consisted only of scrolling through the date and time. Within thirty seconds of turning on the camera, I was ready to begin shooting my first movie clip. Unlike the digital point-and-shoot cameras I have owned, the menu and functions on this camera are completely intuitive. In no time at all, I had figured out how to start, stop, delete, replay, and scroll through my first few movie clips. I also needed no direction to view and maneuver the clips in wide-screen playback mode, and could therefore offer instant gratification to my children, who eagerly awaited the opportunity to see and hear themselves on film. Transferring the files to my computer was equally self-explanatory: within a minute or two of plugging the camera into a USB port, the software was installed, and I had named, saved, and emailed myself my favorite of the movie clips I'd just created. The image quality was excellent, even on the full screen of my computer display.

If I had to identify any drawbacks to this camera, I would say that the somewhat limited zoom range makes close-up shots of moving images (like my children) a bit challenging at first, and that you need a somewhat steady hand to avoid creating bumpy images. However, after only a few practice runs, I found that I was able to minimize these issues to my satisfaction. Overall, the ease of use, crisp images, and user-friendliness of this camera make it an absolute asset for any number of different contexts. I couldn't be more pleased.

You ever try to show your mom or dad how to use technology. Remember when the first dvd player came out and everyone was like what does that button do, remember to rewind the DVD to the begining when your done. There was so much to learn. This item is so easy to use my 6 year old nephew figured it out on his own. press power and press the red button boom. then when you put it on your HD tv you really see what the big deal is. The resolution is amazing. On top of that you don't have to buy an sd card for it. Out of the box its ready to go. One warning It takes FOREVER to charge all the way. And you don't have to install software for an hour to take your videos off. I definately recomend it for someone who wants a simple camcorder and with great quality.

Perfect for what I needed...

I race cars and I needed a very simple to use video camera to place in the race car for "in car" video. I am very happy with the purchase as it takes nice high quality video, stores 4 hours of data, the battery lasts fairly long for a digital device, and it has the flip screen to watch the play back in case it is needed in protests. What I didn't expect is that I would find this so useful and fun for uses outside of the race car application. I soon found myself carrying this thing with me all the time especially on vacations. The other thing I really like is the software that came with it which makes it a snap to share out to YouTube and Facebook. Yes the software is a little cludgey as far as file maintenance of the videos but the sharing aspect and the fact that you can freeze a frame to create a snapshot make this icing on the cake. Make sure you buy the wall jack charger which charges the unit faster than being connected to a USB slot on a computer. There are far more AC outlets than USB slots when you are on vacation or away from home. This was a good buy.....

Previously owned Sony wireless headphones. I had 2 pairs that snapped just above the earpiece. Thought I would try a more expensive pair and I am very pleased. I wish the on-off control worked like the sony and would turn on when you placed them on your head. Sony's sound is line of sight, so if you move around the room you can lose the sound -- not so with the Sennheiser. Overall, well worth the extra $.

The head set is the best! My mom who has hearing issues, uses the headphones to enjoy TV. She can walk all over her home and hear as if she is sitting next to the TV. We tried other brands and there was always static and she could not leave the room.

I believe the Sennheiser Company should be marketing this product through AARP publications to senior citizens as the need is so great for this type of product with this level of quality.

I purchased the original Xtreamer without the SideWinder passive cooling but purchased it separately. This is a great media player and plays everything that I need it to play right up to 1080p .m2ts and .mkv (I had a WDTV Live and returned it since it would not play a small number of files). There have been frequent firmware updates to fix bugs and add new features, and now I am enjoying podcasts, streaming live TV like BBC News and Sky News, and numerous radio stations. There is an active community of users as well who are making their own custom RSS feeds for "Xtreamer Live!" to add additional content for users to enjoy.

This new model addresses some of the issues that the original Xtreamer had -- a noisy fan (this new unit is now silent) and lack of DTS HD MA and TrueHD bitstreaming (this model includes the same new updated Realtek chipset as the Xtreamer Pro). There is also a new firmware in the works to include a much-requested media jukebox feature (though not necessary IMO it is nice to have).

The biggest weakness however is the remote, which feels cheap and you need to aim it almost directly at the Xtreamer. I would recommend buying a programmable universal remote such as the URC R6 (an excellent remote which you can pick up new on eBay for as little as $10), it will make the Xtreamer feel like a whole new machine.

This player is the best i tried the patriot box office (return it they always come out with new boot codes wich only them can upgrade slow firmware updates & very buggy) cinematube 3-1 (send back for the newer model) then the cinemago (return it firmware bug) had a weird bug that make me lost all my files of my seagate freeagent go 500GB (after playing media on it the player crash so i din't turn it on again & bang my hardrive was shown in my computer as corrupted same on the seagate software it fix the hardrive but all my files gone they got corrupted with couple of partions of the hardive) lucky i had a backup hardrive otherwise it would it have been a total nightmare/catastrophe!!!

I just purchased this Xtreamer Pro unit, and received it a few days ago. So far, I am very happy with the unit. I originally purchased an Eminent EM7080 from another on line retailer, but for some unknown reason, they never delivered the unit. The retailer said that the unit was to ship directly from the manufacturer, and they ended up sending an email to the retailer saying that the unit would not be shipping. I can only imagine that there must be either something wrong with the design, or they just don't have any production units to send me. I have since checked with the retailer, and they have removed the unit from their web site, so I am thinking that there may be a problem with the units design. I paid $348 for the EM7080 unit, and am I happy that they didn't send it! This Xtreamer unit is only $200, and it has up to 4 times the hard drive capacity. 4 TBs !!! It looks like it can decode many formats. I was a little bummed out at first, because I own an Archos media player, that also records (in AVI format), and I already had many digital recordings that I wanted to be able to watch from the Xtreamer. Unfortunately, the Xtreamer can't decode the audio stream that the Archos unit encodes with (it says UNKNOWN AUDIO FORMAT). The video plays back, but with no audio. It would be very nice if the folks at Xtreamer can get that to work. This doesn't mean that the Xtreamer can't play back AVI video (with audio). Apparently, there are different audio formats that work with the AVI format. I also have a Hado HD video recorder (1280 x 720p) that encodes in the AVI format, and these play back very nicely on the Xtreamer. It also plays back my Flip recorder videos with no problems. I am getting tired of seeing 640 x 480 video on my HD 63" Samsung Plasma anyway. Maybe its time to get a decent HD Video Camera! But this thing really makes it easy to watch your video files. It functions as a NAS (network attached storage) device, and this is how I am getting my files onto the Xtreamer hard drive. In fact, when I copy files from my Hado, I copy them directly to the Xtreamer. DONE. You can create folders that relate to the content on the Xtreamers hard drive, so this helps to organize all of your stuff. I have also been enjoying the internet streaming, something that I didn't think that I would be too interested in. But, I do like watching NBC's world news with Brian Williams, and if you get home too late to see it... No Worries! You can stream it in later... and the best part of that is NO COMMERCIALS!!! It doesn't come in HD, sadly, but still full screen, and its not bad.
The internet streaming feature is actually pretty cool. When I first installed the hard drive ( i used a WD 1.5 TB green) the instructions say you must format the drive in the device, which I did. It said that it was using the NTFS format, and I was wondering how long that might take. It only took a brief moment. I thought that this couldn't possibly be right, but it seems to be working with no problems, and it is reporting the full size of the drive. I am not sure how that could only take a moment, but happy that I didn't have to wait around for it.

I am thinking that you can't go wrong with this unit, and I am now thinking about getting another one for the living room TV setup. I hope this helps! L8ter!

One of the things that was missing from the EGreat device was Real media (RM/RMVB) support. In search for another player I came across this device due to many positive reviews seen in media player forums (MPC and others). This device works as advertised with excellent 1080p resolution. Xtreamer user forum is very active and helpful if you every have any questions about the product. I bought the EG-M34A from Amazon seller "Jytec Electronics" and same this time around.
