However, help was at hand from the very wonderful Karen Quinn, I visited her home in Formby and she applied a mixture of oils to the problem area's she then covered them with cling film and I felt any minute she was going to stick me in the microwave, but no the cling film apparently makes the oils sink into the skin quicker.

By the next day the improvement in my hip area was just amazing and got better by the hour. I am really amazed by this treatment and would recommend it to anyone with arthritic type problems although I'm sure its great for many other conditions.

However the Fajitas that I gingerly tried at Chiquito were absolutely delicious. The whole presentation was excellent. The sizzling dish contained strips of chicken cooked with peppers and onions and were served with cheese, salsa, sour cream and tortillas, which for the uninitiated are thin pancakes which you can roll all the ingredients up in.

It was a lovely experience and I shall certainly be returning to try some other dishes.

For those of you who are regular listeners to DUNE FM you will be well aware of the Sefton Chamber of Commerce Business Builder Week.

I had the pleasure of being based at FIT4BIZ in Formby (just near M & S) all week and what a great week it was. Seminars were held each afternoon and were well attended by many people who have established businesses but want to learn extra skills, and quite a few who were in the process of starting a new venture.

DUNE FM were based in the FIT4BIZ centre all week and we gave over 20 local business people the opportunity to go on air and promote their wares!

We held two Breakfast meetings at the centre and the catering was brought in by THE LUNCH HOUR who did a very impressive job with fruit platters as well as bacon barms etc.

Still on food topic we had a visit from Duncan of Cafe Crepes who was celebrating 12 months in business and brought in a selection of mouth watering crepes to sustain us, as well as becoming a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

For many tradespeople who are missing valuable telephone enquiries there will be a virtual office service run from FIT4BIZ and there are individual offices available for rental on a flexible basis i.e. weekly, monthly, or even daily/hoursly basis. For details ring 01704 531710.

I will be based in FIT4BIZ Formby by arrangement so if you would like to make an apt. to hear more about the benefits of becoming a member of SEFTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE do ring me SANDRA GEE ON 01704 531710

There was such a buzz to the atmosphere and the exhibitors had gone that extra mile to make their displays and food tastings extra special.

I nibbled my around the world in food and really enjoyed myself.

CHIQUITO'S tempted me with a gorgeous tomato cocktail decorated with celery leaves, my next stop from at THE LATIN LOUNGEhad gorgeous dainty mouthful size pancakes and dips which were hard to resist. NANDO'S display was gorgeous and I gorged myself on the most lovely olives. I met up with some old acquaintances at THE WINE CELLAR (previously named core) and was fed on scrumptious chorizo sauce on bread.

By this time I was full to bursting but of course could not resist the delicious spring rolls filled with black pudding which I then washed down with Asparagus soup, local of course, and all this was provided by THE DINING ROOMS.

Today my daughter and I paid a visit to the VINCENT SUSHI BAR and we are still drooling over the delicious snack we ate .

On what was a miserable damp day the atmosphere in the Deli was buzzing, and by one o'clock it was absolutely full.

We opted for the "special" soup and sushi, which was served in the most stylish way, all the dishes, chopsticks etc. were shiny black.. The soup we had was full of chicken and chilli and was absolutely delicious and the sushi, which came complete with ginger and wasabi, was moist and scrumptious.

Although we were tempted to a dessert we were so full that we just opted for coffee.

The menu is really varied and interesting, the staff a joy, and we can't wait to return again to try some different dishes to tempt our palates.

Well done to the VINCENT its just what Southport needs for interesting food.

After much deliberation I decided I should update my technology and invest in a modern DVD Recorder to replace my cassette machine.

I have always practiced supporting local retailers but much more so now with the Shop Local campaign. So I took myself to SOUTHPORT HI-FI which is tucked away in Princes Street and was delighted to reacquaint myself with Phil Flack who I had a business association with years ago when I was involved with my microwave cookery school.

Their product knowledge was great and they explained in simple language the benefits of the PANASONIC DVD RECORDER. A member of their team delivered and setup the machine and once again talked me through it. Their prices were very competitive and their after sales service superb.they were always on hand, through the magic of telephony to guide me through the correct procedures.

I'm now a dab hand at mastering the many clever features of this great machine its so simple and versatile and makes recording a joy not a headache!!

Here is a simple-to- make delicious dessert for two people to enjoy.

It`s called BAKED BANANAS

Ingredients:-

1/ 1 large, or 2 small, ripe FAIRTRADE Bananas.
2/ Several dobs of butter.
3/ 25 ml FAIRTRADE demerara sugar.
4/ 1 FAIRTRADE Lemon.

Method:-

Juice the lemon and discard the peel.
Peel the bananas and chop into 1 cm discs.
Put the chopped bananas into a baking dish and pour over the lemon juice.
Sprinkle with sugar and add a few dobs of butter.
Bake in the oven at Gas Mark 6 (200 centigrade/400 Farenheit) for 12 to 15 minutes.

Serve hot with fresh cream, FAIRTRADE Ice Cream, or with custard.

There are many more recipes involving Fairtrade ingredients in the book THE FAIRTRADE EVERYDAY COOKBOOK, which is available to purchase online at <strong>www.thefairtradestore.co.uk

P.S. This recipe can be cooked in the microwave oven, I would suggested on high power for about 2 mins.
