A new Dynorace has just been released! The new Dynorace A2CTION power bench tester has been designed and developed to support the latest vehicles technology: the result is extraordinary, a 4WD braked dynamometer – also available in ACTIVE configuration – provided with single roller frame and rigid connection between front and rear axle (thanks to a driveshaft).

This platform has been conceived not only to brake the acceleration of the car (simulating load conditions/uphill roads) but also – when provided in ACTIVE configuration – to accelerate the rotation of the wheels (simulating downhill conditions and for hybrid/electric vehicles testing while – as example – recharging the batteries).

The structure of the new power bench tester supports two brakes (one for each axle) and an electric engine (optional) between the two axles. Top quality parts and components have been selected to ensure the maximum reliability and testing accuracy even in case of high performances vehicles.

An additional roller has been mounted on the front axle so to facilitate the vehicle positioning on the power bench tester. High inertia rollers (diameter 605 mm) have been produced with a knurling surface treatment which limits the risk of slip. Moreover, a new set of bearings improve their performances and durability.

A new state-of-the-art electronic management board allows faster data collecting, so to guarantee a very high precision in the testing operations.

MAIN FEATURES

SINGLE ROLLER developed to achieve greater inertia and supported by a high-resistance alloy steel shaft, with conical couplers to ensure a perfect alignment.

DIRECT MECHANICAL CONNECTION, to faithfully replicate the road working conditions. The front-rear connection is ‘excludable’, a peculiar feature of Dimsport Dynorace power bench testers.

AUTOMATIC WHEELBASE ADJUSTMENT achieved by inputting the vehicle wheelbase size in the management software, so to automatically set the exact position of the moving axle.

EDDY CURRENT BRAKE provided with a forced air duct to keep the load cell in a controlled temperature range.

SAFETY BRAKE to slow down the power bench and the vehicle in testing phase and to ensure maximum safety also in case of emergency.

POSITIONING ROLLERS to set the most suitable position (automatically determined by the software by inputting the tire size) and also to identify situations of slip between tire and roller.

33 KW ELECTRIC ENGINE (OPTIONAL) soon available to support realistic road simulation cycles and to replicate the inertial mass of the vehicle in testing also for homologous purposes.

Dimsport’s experience shows that every engine, every setup, every rider has a “peculiar” story to tell.

This is true also for every new applications being developed which is ultimately determined by a new and exciting challenge. It was no different when the new Suzuki GSXR 1000 rolled into Dimsport Rapid Bike R&D Dept, the mission was clear since the very beginning: “the beast” could be improved only by smoothing out its wild nature … today they are extremely satisfied since without any doubt we fully succeeded with reaching this goal!

At lower TPS openings the engine response is much more predictable and bike’s handling is definitely more friendly especially in regards of drive-by-wire’s side-effects; power gain is consistent and helps to push strongly the bike out from the curves while securing additional horsepower even in case of a vehicle in stock configuration…

… but who is going to leave “the beast” in his cage ?!

Vtechdyno EVO – a new line of modular, expandable chassis dynamometers – has been shown at Automechanika Frankfurt. The basis 2WD model (VT-2) starts from 14.900 €.

Modular dynamometer means that there is no need to buy AWD dyno at once. You can have the front module, without electromagnetic brakes, and install brakes, AWD extension with synchronization and additional sensors later. Thanks to fully modular design, everything is expandable. There is no need of investing more money for full AWD to avoid being stuck with 2WD. Now 2WD → AWD expansion is easy. AWD is fully mechanically synchronized. Apart from typical sensors (AFR, EGT, Boost etc), the control software includes OBD2/CAN input of data.

The VT2/VT4 chassis dynamometers series have been present on the European market for almost 20 years. The first rolling road was created and installed in 1999 and since the very beginning they featured an exceptional accuracy of measurement and reliability. During the following years the chassis dynos (rolling roads) have been constantly developed and improved by R&D department, significantly widening the product range. Today variants of our dynamometers include modular one-axle dynamometer and 4WD chassis dynamometer for 4×4 vehicles. Multiple models, configurations and options of chassis dynamometer product line are available.

Vtechdyno dynamometers are available in both inertial and braked versions. Additionally, in the 4×4 version a novelty system of mechanical synchronisation of front and rear axles is used, which gives the possibility for measuring the most modern cars, equipped with active traction control systems. Supplementary to this wide offer are dynamometers for motorcycles and quads. All models can be installed in pit or on surface.

Cobra Sport’s performance exhaust for the VW Golf Mk7 ‘R’ has been enjoying universal acclaim since it was launched last year. The performance enhancing large bore stainless steel pipework, the choice of resonated or non-resonated centre sections and the option of having a valved or non-valved exhaust have all proved extremely popular with customers and the press. Now Cobra Sports race partner, AmD Tuning, has developed a remap that has been specially developed to work hand-in-hand with the new exhaust system.

The AmD software remap works with the new-found increased efficiency of the exhaust and develops upon it. The combination creates more power than just the sum of the gains that would be achieved by the exhaust and software added together.

Because the AmD remap has been designed specifically to work with the Cobra Sport exhaust you can be sure that everything will work with maximum efficiency and without any fault codes being triggered in error.

AmD Tuning also offer FREE FITTING on all Cobra Sport Exhausts – or, if you prefer to buy by mail order and fit it yourself, AmD will offer 10% off and FREE DELIVERY – which can represent a significant saving on a full system. Furthermore, if you buy an AmD Tuning performance remap at the same time as a Cobra Sport Exhaust you can have the remap at HALF the usual retail price!

Respected supercar tuner Litchfield has announced the development of its latest range of version 6 engine and gearbox map upgrades for the Nissan R35 GT-R. Having worked closely with long standing technical partner EcuTek, Litchfield has created a range of innovative revisions to include new hardware which will transform how owners interact with their GT-Rs. This latest software calibration significantly moves the game on in terms of performance and functionality.

Having worked together for many years, Litchfield has long been a Beta tester of EcuTek’s latest technology. Throughout the development process of the new ‘ECU Connect’ package the two firms shared R&D data in order to create an exceptionally complete package that offers a consumer interface not normally available with this kind of tuning.

The ECU Connect hardware is simply a Bluetooth dongle that seamlessly connects to Apple iPhone and iPad devices (Android to follow) when plugged into the standard OBD port. Once installed the OBD plug can be clicked into place in the factory port with the dongle still attached, leaving a neat and permanent connection to the ECU.

ECU Connect provides all the current ProEcu GTR features such as clutch learning, service tool, code reading and new extended data logging, but also offers drivers and tuners access to much more data. Drivers can use the app to perform convenient data logging with just a tap of the screen and easily email the results to any interested parties. Data logging is also extended to log both the engine ECU and gearbox TCM at the same time. Perfect for fine tuning and faster fault finding.

The most impressive feature of ECU Connect – and the core basis for Litchfield’s new Version 6 maps – is the ability to adjust each Customs Maps live within the app. Owners are now able to tailor their setup instantly to suit road/track conditions on the fly, using simple on/off toggles and on-screen sliding adjusters to change special map features.

Litchfield will be offering these live adjustments to control any aspect of its mapping. Whether that’s a new and improved traction control, the introduction of boost levels off the line, or even how loud you would like the volume of your over-run pops & bangs! The company is also working on some really clever new features to help those customers that like to test their GTR on track or drag strip, too!

Along with the hardware integration, Litchfield has also taken the opportunity to apply its latest updates and Ring-tested results to its Version 6 maps. These see an overall improvement in performance, throttle response and fuel consumption across the board, making the upgrade hugely worthwhile – and more than just a series of new features.

Testing has been completed on Litchfield’s own GTR test cars (MY10, MY11 and MY17) on both road, dyno and circuit to ensure everything is thoroughly proven and optimised. Naturally, as new upgrades and features are available, these will be added into the package as well as being made available retrospectively to existing customers.

A more detailed list of key features will be released on the Litchfield website in the coming weeks as full testing is completed. The ECU Connect hardware is due to launch at the end of November in limited numbers with more units due later in the year. Pricing will be in line with all of Litchfield’s other mapping options.

After several years of research and development BSR Tuning announce some unique Tuning for Volvos new generation VEA diesel engines. The new tuning kits are different from anything else on the market and promise a hard to beat power increase.

Since Volvo is one of the brands which has been a big part of the foundation of the BSR success story, the pressure and demand to deliver tuning for Volvos VEA engines has been huge. Since 2014, in BSR’s lab in the deep Swedish forests, their engineers have been researching to develop the potential in the new generation powertrain. The result is an extraordinary documented power increase which surpasses what is available on the market. The VEA engines, in combination with Volvos solid and often oversized other parts, are particularly well designed to handle the power increase that has been developed. As always, all BSR tuning kits are custom made for the specific engine option, power train and chassis to not challenge anything in the build or get an unsustainable wear due to the increased power output.

The extraordinary power increase has led to that a big part of the projects focus has been to give the cars the right driving experience during all possible scenarios and to adjust the tuning to avoid wear. This, in combination with correct basic conditions in the engine, makes the cars behaviour stable during all circumstances and intervals when tuned. The D2, D3 and D4 engines are the first to be released. D5, as well as the petrol engines, will be announced later on. When the software has been loaded into the car by BSR the customer can shift the cars setup from original to tuned when and how often they wish to using the handheld PPC unit, all by themselves. The PPC unit is easily connected to the cars diagnostics socket.

”The VEA seemed promising from the start but to achieve such good and thorough results was more than we expected. It’s been a great challenge for our team to get the right interaction between all parameters and details. However, in true BSR spirit, we have managed to create something truly unique. It feels like we have released the soul of the engine, what it was built for, the inner beast.” – Stefan Olsson, CEO – BSR Svenska AB

It is now official: Dimsport presence in the USA has been improved thanks to the opening of DIMSPORT NORTH AMERICA, important new branch established to reinforce our presence in the global tuning market.

The new company is situated in Ohio, a strategic choice to better serve USA and Canada, key markets in which their products have long since been appreciated by professionals and end-users for a wide range of applications.

Dimsport North America joins the “sisters” companies already operating in Spain, Turkey and Brazil in the support of the activities promoted by the head offices in Italy (in Serralunga di Crea and Scandicci).

Dimsport’s Board of Directors declares, “If on the one hand the launch of Dimsport North America reconfirms the globalization process of our brand, it must be clear that our satisfaction is not just the new flag on the globe: the presence of diligent referents in the United States allows us to serve the growing interest in electronic tuning. Optimization of the engine performance, improvement of the fuel economy, enhancement of the driving pleasure: now Dimsport has “that extra oomph” that makes it able to better deal with a demanding overseas clientele”.
