Got invited to photograph my cousin's wedding a couple of weeks ago and here are some of the photos.

The groom has arrived, bet he is really excited.

Groom chilling out with one of the bridesmaids without knowing what he was about to encounter.

Lovely bridesmaids? Wait till you see what ideas they have come up with.

It is a tradition that the groom needs to go through some 'test' before he is able to get the bride.

Those biscuits are specially made to leave you with an unforgettable experience.

Not really a problem for the groom, so next challenge.

Bring it on.

Sweeter drinks should 'neutralise' the horrible mixture that's given.

Sometimes, I'm rather confused as to whose side the groomsmen are on?

To those who came up with this idea, karma will get you some day. lol.

Its all gone now. That will be the newly declared "no-hair" zone.

That's just a piece of cake. You just need to have strong hips.

Finally, the last 'challenge', more red packets will do the job.

The Pearl of the Atlantic - Madeira

Madeira is a Portugese Island located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. It is located about 1000 km southwest of its capital, Lisbon. In fact, Madeira is closer to Morocco than Portugal itself.

Madeira was discovered between 1418 to 1420.

This is a view from our hotel balcony. Below are all photos from Fuchal which is the capital of the island.

Madeira is pretty unique due to its geographical location. They do have both Tropical weather and winter as well.

Just a quick post as I don't intend to write much, but I am sure most of you would rather look at photos than reading.

Anyway, just got back to UK yesterday, still rather exhausted so will try to enjoy a little bit more before Monday comes.

Lovely Munich

Just realised my previous post was more than 5 weeks ago. The last few weeks before I left UK was rather busy and thinking that I would have more time when I get back to Malaysia was rather the opposite.

Anyway, here are more Munich photos. This photo was taken in front of the Nationaltheater München which is an opera house and the home base of the Bayerische Staatsoper (Bavarian State Opera), and the Bayerisches Staatsballett (Bavarian State Ballet).

Walk along the street of Residenzstraße, you will reach Odeonsplatz and this is where you'll see the Feldherrnhalle on your left which is where this statue stands.

Proceed along the same street, you will see an arch on your right, go through it will bring you to the Hofgarten (court garden). This peaceful and colourful garden has long been an oasis in the middle of the city.

The doors standing tall below mark the hall of the Residenz Palace.

If you are a chocolate lover and fancy eating bugs, you might want to try some of these.

Still plenty of photos to post, will probably do it when I get some spare time. Anyway, feel free to drop any comments.

Sunbathing in the Nude

Yes you read it right. Its all happening in Munich's English Garden. There is this part of the garden where sunbathing naked has been permitted since 1960s.

How unfortunate that there were no naked women to behold. The weather to blame as it was all gloom and doom.

"Excuse me, horsey! Over here... down here... can I get a ride?".

Munich in Full Bloom

Munich isn't just a city of steel and concrete. Here's why...

Tulips just remind me of my Amsterdam trip to the world's largest flower garden. They are just amazing eh...

She just couldn't resist having a photo with these beautiful tulips. In fact, more than one photo :)

These tulips are planted all around the city. They come in all shapes, sizes and of course COLOURS.

Marienplatz, Munich

After checking into our hotel, we headed straight to the central of Munich, Marienplatz. The metro (underground train) is a little different from London's Tube.

The platforms are bigger and the trains are slightly wider. However, the train coaches do look quite old.

Hopping of at the Marienplatz station gets you to the heart of Munich city.

This is the Fish Fountain (Fischbrunnen) designed by Konrad Knoll in 1864 which is located next to the Town Hall.

Some gargoyle in the New Town Hall.

Everything looks medieval here, even the door as well.

Georg Joseph Hauberrisser is the guy who built the New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus) between 1867 and 1909.

Standing tall is the Frauenkirche which means "Church of Our Lady".

This church was built in 1468 by Duke Sigismund. However, the green domes at the top of the tower were added in 1525.

If you have visited this blog before I am sure you realised the changes I have made so far. I'm still working on a flash image rotator header and a new signature for each photos.

The most annoying bit is to change all the flickr photo links on my existing posts to a larger size photo links.

Saving a Child's Life

By now, we should be enjoying the sunny weather and the amazing view in Madeira. In case you are wondering which country Madeira belongs to or where actually Madeira is?

Sunny Sunday

Here are more portrait photos...

It is normally quite rare to have such sunny day during the weekend in UK, but we were quite lucky that day.

Photos were taken near Greenland Dock.

You should be able to notice the Canary Wharf skyscrapers in the background.

Do you know that London is freaking hot these few weeks? The temperature hit 32C this afternoon! It's really madness, especially those who take the tube. Just imagine an underground train with no air conditioning. However, if you fancy some free sauna session, just get yourself onto any tube during rush hour. You'll get what I mean :D

Anyway, I'll be heading off to the pearl of the atlantic (Madeira, Portugal) for a week. See you guys soon!

Deutsche Land Revisit

Hello Munich! This was my second visit to Germany. My previous Germany trip was to Berlin during World Cup 2006.

Turn right you'll get to the Hofbräuhaus which is a famous beer hall in Munich.

Munich by moonlight.

Taxis anyone?

If you love the environment, avoid using vehicles.

The Suicide Bridge

Bristol, famous for its suicide bridge, also known as the Clifton Suspension Bridge. If you google the history of this bridge, you'll come across the many suicide cases, hence this signboard advertising the samaritans care number.

About 10 years ago, barriers were installed on the bridge to prevent people from jumping.

As you can see, the cars below the bridge are just like toy cars.

This is the park located next to the Clifton Suspension Bridge. For those with a keen eye, there's some interesting sights to behold.

This is the reason why we were in Bristol. Our friend, Dineli is going back to her home country and she is getting married soon too! Hence, we paid her a visit before she leaves the UK for good.

FYI, I have taken tonnes of photos just for this position itself. Girls.... I tell you.... haha

Dineli decided that she had enough and its my turn to be in the photo with Sharon.

Probably no one could resist not to have any portrait photos under such lovely weather.

We'll all miss you Dineli. Keep in touch yeah :)

Very Interesting Weekend

It is 3AM in UK now and I am still not asleep yet. I'm in one of the hotels in Bristol. It's one of the coolest place I have stayed in. Just imagine that there is a 24" iMac in every guest room! Maybe it doesn't bother you much. Anyway, I am writing this from my own mac that I brought along.

A few things happened today, my manfrotto tripod has been stolen when me and my girlfriend were on the train to Bristol to visit one of her good friends. This great tripod has been serving me for about 2 years. Very sturdy and it works great when it comes to night shots. I hope the person who took it actually knows what it is for and does not mistake it for a coat hanger or something.haha.

Anyway, just some updates, me and my girlfriend went to Munich, Germany last weekend. It was quite a nice German city compared to Berlin, we had all sorts of German wurst (sausages) and pork knuckles almost everyday. Will post some photos soon.

I think its time for bed now, otherwise I think I'll miss tomorrow's breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby. I will update my blog more often! haha I hope I am able to keep my promises this time haha.

Oh by the way, my family adopted a new puppy! Its a 'golden labrador'. I'll just show one photo of her now.

What do you think? She just can't stop herself from eating. She literally swallows everything you give you within seconds!

Back in London

I guess I haven't been updating my blog for about 3 months. I have been too busy since Chinese New Year. I think I am always busy haha.

Well, you see the thing is that when I am back in my hometown, I have my family and friends to hangout with and that keeps me busy. So it has been all about work, food, rest and hangout. Life has been too good to be unoccupied.

So after months of being busy in Malaysia, I am back to London again. No, that doesn't mean I will be free here, it just mean that I will be busy in another way.

Anyway, enough of all that "busy" stories. So, I landed in UK yesterday evening, tried to get some sleep in UK time-zone to fight the jet-lag issue. Woke up couple of times during the night. Check some mails and went online on msn. Some friends even greeted good morning, haha that's like 3am in the morning so decided not to reply and went straight back to bed. Otherwise, I don't think going-to-bed will happen in the near hour.

I took this shot with my phone when I was on my way to work today. Its really rare to see the sun in the UK and its good to have nice sunny weather again! Probably need to start booking some trips to Europe.

I hope I will be free to update my blog more frequently. See you guys around :)

Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park

It feels as though I just updated my blog like few days ago and when I check my previous post, it was like more than a week! Geez. Anyway, here are some photos of the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park, London.

I been to the park for about 3 times and finally I got the right sunset lighting I wanted. The sun sets about 4pm ish at that time. Also, just so you know, it was freezing cold about subzero, I was with my leather gloves (if you still want your fingers functioning properly after the shoot) and armed with 3 layers of top and scarf.

I love the blueish sun set lighting. I find it very soothing.

Leafless tree is what you gonna see everywhere during winter.

Garlic house, just right under a tree. I think the lighting looks awesome.

This is another stall selling bratwurst (German Hotdog). These stalls just look cool.

A windmill with a snowman on the roof which I believe is from Holland. I think the couple were about to kiss. Sorry didn't mean to disturb :P

You definitely should expect to see a carousel in a fun fair! Anyway, more Hyde Park photos soon.

Need to get going now, as I am heading back to Malaysia this week. See you guys!

Happy New Year 2009

Couldn't believe its already 2009 and I am another year older! Not too sure whether that's a good thing or not.

Anyway, just looking through my photos and found these photos taken in Paris 3 Christmases ago (including this one). Didn't realise it was already more than 2 years now. Time flies eh?

On top of that, I am sure all of you are aware that some countries are affected by recession pretty badly. United Kingdom is one of them. It used to be about 7 ringgit to a pound and its now only worth 5 to a pound.

Anyway, this is a square located at the end of Avenue des Champs-Elysees (the most famous street in Paris, equivalent to Oxford Street, London). On the other end of the street is the famous Arc de Triomphe.

During Christmas season, there is always a fun fair. So definitely you'll be able to see ferries wheel.

Anyway, wishing all of you a happy new year and all the best in the year 2009!

Christmas at Paris

Merry Christmas to all of you out there! I am sure most of you realised that I am back in London. Its quite cold here which makes it a good place to spend Christmas! Hope it snows before I am back to Malaysia for Chinese New Year.

Anyway, here are some pictures of my visit to Paris 2 years ago. I was there for Christmas too.

Can-can dance anyone? The famous Moulin Rouge (it means red windmill in French) is known as the birth place for this dance.

This was taken at the top of Galeries Lafayette. In case you are wondering, Galeries Lafayette is a French department store for luxury brands and has always been a trend-setter in the Parisian fashion world.

Notre Dame, considered to be one of the finest Gothic Cathedral in France. Make sure you go up to the top of the tower to have a view of the whole area.

These buildings are just directly opposite the cathedral.

I think with a little bit of snow it will look awesome.

Paris Metro which is the opera house of Paris. It was opened way back in 1816.

Need I say more? You definitely need to get up to the 3rd level of this spectacular tower! Of course you have to pay a little bit more to get to the highest point but it is definitely worth visiting. Especially at night!

It was freezing cold then, our noses were all red! Not only that, it was so windy as well which makes it worse.

That's all for now, hopefully I do have the time to post more recent photos like the Hong Kong trip and some photos of Malaysia!

Eiffel Tower

It couple of years back when I was up on the Eiffel Tower. I still remember that it was quite a windy and cold winter.

The tower is divided into 3 levels. Obviously you will be able to see the whole Paris City from the 3rd level and the view is seriously gorgeous, especially the night view.

I guess most of you have realised that I haven't been updating my blog for about a month now. I will be updating my blog more frequently when I am back in London, hopefully :P

Coincidence leads to Little India

I have heard many people saying that Singapore is a very small place and you could easily bump into your friends. I never quite believe that because its not even easy to meet any of my friends around KL. That's not until I stumble into Eunice from Travelerfolio.com at Bugis Junction. It was totally a coincidence because I was going to meet my friend there.

Anyway, I really have to thank her for bringing me around Singapore on the following day. Highly recommended tour guide. haha.

So, our first destination was Little India because she suggested that there were more things to see due to Deepavali Festival. When we got out from the MRT station, I could never believe that I was in Singapore. The streets are full of Indian ethnics and its really very crowded!

You could easily differentiate a tourist from a local.

It was a gloomy evening and there wasn't sufficient lights to make the photos more vivid.

This is one of the street in Little India.

Fruits and vegetables are everywhere along this street.

The whole area of Little India was decorated with lights, it should be even better if I were to stay on.

The main street of Little India is always busy. Lots of people and vehicles.

You definitely need to wait for the lights to cross this busy street.

After Little India, we went to Boat Quay for some food and then we took some photos (photos are located here) before calling it a day.

The Nightscape of Singapore

Finally, I managed to spare some time off to drop by Singapore. The weather wasn't really great, so the best I could do was to shoot night shots.

Here are some of the nightscape I took around the area of Clarke Quay and Boat Quay.

Clarke Quay is well known for its clubs and pubs and there are lots of restaurants too.

Esplanade is the durian shape Theatre located next to the bay. This was taken opposite the theatre.

This was taken from outside Esplanade. Definitely one of the good spot for night shots as well.

You will see this bridge when you are walking towards Boat Quay from Clarke Quay. There are some side seeing boats which you could take from one end to the other.

This is the view of Boat Quay from the bridge in the photo above. If you guys know any other nice spot for night shot please feel free to share with me.

The Roman's Colosseum

It has been about 2 years now. I can still remember how great it was being in Rome. The architectures are really amazing. Anyway, here are some photos after quite awhile since my last post.

If you look at this photo carefully, it is a panorama shot. I stitched two photos together. not too bad eh? I was just using my 18-70mm lens back then, not wide enough for the space I could move.

This is the interior of the Colosseum. Its really amazing to be able to build such a stadium which could contain up to 50,000 spectators.

Most of the structures were destroyed, and additional structures were added to support the Colosseum.

This is located directly opposite the Colosseum. It was destroyed as well, noticed the broken pillars and broken walls.

Just another view of the Colosseum from a different angle of view.

We were there in the early morning, the sun wasn't too warm (colour wise) but the structures were all 'yellowish' and plus the shadow caused by the other side of the Colosseum. Therefore, no able to capture the clear detail of the colosseum. How I wish I know how to do HDR back then :-P

A Short Kuala Lumpur Shooting

I was out with a few friends last weekend. The main purpose of this outing was for photoshooting, but somehow we ended up watching a movie. Well, overall it was still great. I managed to take a few photos around KL city centre.

It was really a short and quick one as most of us were very hungry after the movie. So food was the only thing we had in mind.

The evening blue sky of Kuala Lumpur will look like this most of the time.

This is Pavilion in case you guys couldn't recognise it.

It is actually very rare to see people using the zebra crossing. Probably they were all tourists ;)

Malaysia is well known for its humidity and warm weather. Yes, HOT and WET.

When it comes to nightscape I always love to capture any sources of lights for example signboards, street lights, moonlight, etc.

These are the Kuala Lumpur city taxis. You should be able to see them almost everywhere except maybe the airport.
