I am so happy to be releasing my first collaborative kit with Melanie of MellyBird Designs. Melanie and I are both exhausted mothers of three year old girls and one year old boys, so it's only natural that the theme of our first collaboration has to do with one of our common experiences- bedtime. To most three year olds, bedtime is a four letter word.

I have a new kit released today, Arabella. This kit definitely has a more feminine side, but the colors are quite versatile and the textures are a bit more casual with a lot of kraft.

Before anyone slaps my hand for being away for the past month I have two very cool things with which I shall try to appease you...

It has been a loooong time since I have dabbled in art journaling, and it has always felt so personal that I haven't shared much in any gallery. I have kept it separate from my scrapbooking because for me one was for recording my memories, and the other for expressing my deepest feelings- and I am the kind of person who does not easily shares my emotions. I am not saying that it's the right way, or the wrong way, that is just how it has been for me- part self protection and part perfectionism. This challenge is helping me to let that go a little. I do plan to post all of my pages for this challenge when I get them done, now that I finally have the chance to sit down at the computer this weekend and work on them.

Now, back to this week! The prompt is Dreams, and you can click here or on the freebie image above to pick it up in the CatScrap shop. Use what you want from it, and anything else to create your page, and post it in our Altered Art Gallery when you are done. Oh, and if you need some advice, guidance, or just a place to chat about the challenge, you can find our Art Journal section in the forums under Challenges. I shall return soon to post some Week 4 inspiration pages.

My advice is not to sit and think on the prompt for too long, just get into your program and start creating and playing with your supplies. Get out of your head and let the creativity flow.

Sometimes my favorite part of designing a digi-product is naming it, even if that means renaming every file in the kit because I came up with a better name two minutes before I planned to upload it.

I love a versatile product, and these masks can be used to clip photos, papers, blend into backgrounds, etc. I also included the masks in .abr format this time, because I know there are a lot of brush lovers out there.

That is what my house is filled with right now. Naughty babies. My little guy is such a handful and quite the escape artist. At fourteen months old he can already knock down baby gates, take off his pants and diaper, and is hard at work trying to take the packn'play apart while still inside of it. Most of my attention while he is awake is on keeping us out of the emergency room, which has his big sister feeling a bit left out. The result is a bad case of the "terrible threes" with loads of attitude and tantrums. I know that this too shall pass, at it will pass all too quickly. I am doing my best to take the good with the poop flinging naughtiness. And no, I did not take a photo to scrapbook my poop covered baby boy.

My latest kit, was released for the CatWalk while I was on vacation with the family. Alas, I could not get my blogging done ahead of time...

Just came home from the neighborhood egg hunt, and wanted to let you all know about the one at CatScrap this weekend. Lots of great products marked down, but you have to find them!

I have some catching up to do this week. I have been on vacation with the family and spent the last week at home catching up on laundry and chasing around the little ones. Speaking of laundry and little ones, I need to figure out what we are all wearing tomorrow and make sure it's clean/ironed/etc. Ah, nothing like waiting till the last minute!

My three year old has been sick since the weekend, and it's been a very rough sleepless couple of days. It still feels like Monday to me, even though it's Wednesday, and I almost put hand soap on my toothbrush this morning... ah, sleep deprivation.

While listening to one of the kiddie channels on XM radio the other day, a song came on that had me laughing so hard I almost had to pull the car over.

Yes, I am a nerd. I went to amazon and downloaded a bunch of songs from this guy, and listen to them with my little ones. My three year old doesn't get the humor really, but she does like dancing to the music.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I have a new nephew scheduled to arrive into this world in a couple of hours, I am so excited for my sister and her hubby. This is their first, and it is so nice for us to share this whole motherhood experience with each other. It is going to be a very happy St. Patrick's Day, indeed.

It is so nice to sit back and scrap a layout, something I haven't done enough of lately. I most of the page was made with items from Nostalgia Collaborative Kit by Creashens and Paislee Press, plus my Paper Cuts Alpha in Vintage. You can click on the image for credits and links at CatScrap.

I am in a two page mood, I like the way it looks in a photo book when the facing pages flow together.

The devastation in Japan has weighed heavily on my mind and in my heart. I cannot fathom the toll this catastrophe has taken on so many lives. I am donating to help here, it seems like such a tiny gesture but I hope it can do some good.
