 As a nonprofit always looking for new ways to broaden both volunteer and donor base, Cheerful Givers posted a challenge to “Give-A-Less-Fortunate Child-A Happy Birthday” by simply asking others to get involved in promoting the cause.  Here’s a sampling of responses from across the country:

• “ I have requested that 10 companies post your link on their Facebook pages, including our local newspaper.” Heather

A Pancake Breakfast With Brian Duensing, Nick Blackburn & Chris Parmelee

Enjoy a pancake breakfast and an opportunity to enter prize drawings for Minnesota Twins autographed merchandise.  Brian Duensing, Nick Blakckburn & Chris Pamelee will host a Q&A session followed by a live auction including use of the Mauer/Morneau suite and autographed tickets for 16, a bat signed by team players, and a chance to throw out the first pitch at the White Sox game on Sunday, Sept. 16.

General admission tickets $30 or VIP tickets $60 which allows ticket holders to have an item autographed by the players immediately following the event. Space is limited – and last year this event sold out a month prior.

142 students from Montessori through 5^th grade at Convent of the Visitation School in Mendota Heights, Minnesota learned about Cheerful Givers and worked together to fill birthday bags.  A special thanks to the little girl who returned after the event with her eleven cents to donate.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 64 million people in the USA volunteered for an organization at least once during 2011.  Most likely to volunteer were 35-54 year olds, and about 6% more women volunteered than men.

Something new from Nonprofit Tech 2.0 – Fundraising Fridays.  They are suggesting that every Friday people donate $10 to their favorite nonprofit.

Volunteers walk throughout the stadium and must be willing to approach people to ask for ticket sales. Must be 16+. You will receive a t-shirt to wear at the game and after the 5th inning, you can enjoy the game.
