The_Homeopath shows us just how with her lens on her Squidoo lenses for charity.

$10 a month is $120 a year. And so on and so on…

This is an instance where you will be happy to do multiplication!

Chef Keem shows us how it’s done.

He wanted to do something for U.S. soliders. He looked around and found a charity that he connected with, Operation Helmet.

He made a lens about it.

Stop there? No way.

He contacted the people at Operation Helmet and told them about Squidoo and what we are trying to do. They loved his pitch. They sent him their PayPal account info. He sent that to me.

Now Operation Helmet is a registered charity with Squidoo. All the proceeds go to the help the brave soldiers fighting

Summer time is the time for sweets. Fruits are at their ripest. And nothing is better on these hot days than a drippy cone of ice cream. Hmmm… ice cream……

In the spirit of summertime sweets and helping charities, Squidoo is hosting a virtual bake sale!

Bake sales are everywhere. They raise money for all sorts of projects. Make a bake sale lens for your favority charity. Raise some money. Have some fun. Calorie free!

You raised $8,000 for charity.

No wait, really? Seriously? $8,000?

Yup.

$3,000 to various causes, the biggest earners are Action Against Hunger, Save the Children
and Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation.

And, of course, $5000 to the Squidoo Charity Fund.

Way to go everyone!

She wrote to charity@squidoo.com and to her favorite charity. We got Long Hopes set up as a partner charity.

Was that enough for The_Homeopath? Nope. She made a great lens for Long Hopes.

Was that enough? No again! She posted about her success on the forum

What should come next? Reach out to other people who care about Long Hopes and have them make a lens. Help even more donkeys! Who could say no to a donkey?

Congratulations to ComfortDoc for creating a lens on Boundless Playgrounds

The Founder, Amy Jaffe Barzach, faced personal tragedy when she lost her handicapped son. As a memorial she helped build a playground where handicapped children could play alongside other children. Even more playgrounds were built through the foundation so that children all across the United States can play together.

The grinning faces in that lens tell me that happiness can be a by-product of even the worst circumstances.

It’s the Squidoo Superhero Project

Create at least five lenses on who YOU think is a Superhero and why you’ll be in the running for some cool perks. This is a special chance to tell stories about Superheroes. Not the mythical one but the real person who is making a real difference.

Everyday people inspire. The person who makes dinner for the family every night can be as inspiring (maybe even more so!) than someone donating a million dollars to charity. Superheroes come in many forms (and capes!) Who do you know who is unsung and deserves some of the limelight?
