This new slate boasts a 13.4-inch IPS display with a 2000×1200 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 12-bit color depth, promising smooth visuals and vibrant color reproduction. Under the hood, the T65 Plus is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset that’s commonly seen in budget friendly tablets and offers mid-range performance.

It’s equipped with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM, along with 10GB of expandable virtual memory, and 256GB of high-speed UFS 4.0 storage. Powering it all is a 10,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

Running the latest Android 15, the T65 Plus also supports Widevine L1 DRM, enabling Netflix HD playback right out of the box.

Additional specs include quad speakers for immersive audio, Wi-Fi 7, Cellular connectivity, dula SIM and Bluetooth 5.4. It has an 8MP front camera paired with a 13MP rear camera for video calls and casual photography. The tablet measures 289.61 x 209.66 x 5.97 mm and weighs 675 grams.

What’s most interesting about the T65 Plus is the design. It features a completely red back cover with gold trimming around the cameras. This design mirrors the Teclast T60 AI that was originally released on Temu.

The T60AI aimed to tap into the growing AI trend by introducing software features such as video upscaling, hand gesture control, enhanced OCR text extraction, posture reminders, and video chat optimisations. In comparison, it featured a smaller 12-inch 2K display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a less powerful Allwinner A733 octa-core processor, 6GB of RAM, and an 8000mAh battery.

Interestingly Topton have included two removeable joysticks that initially remind you of the Nintendo Switch joycons. They feature the buttons you’d expect – two joysticks, dpad, ABXY buttons and L/R triggers. Don’t expect to find hall effect triggers with these. he handheld has an inbuilt kickstand and it can be used as a tablet without the controllers.

Under the hood this handheld has a single M.2 NVMe 2280 SSD slot for storage, a single DDR4 SODIMM slot for up to 32GB of RAM at 3200MHz and Intel 12th Gen UHD Graphics.

Given these hardware specifications this handheld is an excellent choice for those wanting to do emulation gaming, or very light Windows gaming. Anything high end, like Cyberpunk, Robolox and other AA/AAA titles will not be suitable.

For connectivity there is WiFi dual band, Bluetooth 4.2 and for ports there’s both a USB-A 3.1 5Gbps port and a USB-C port. It’s not clear if the USB-C port supports Display Out, however Topton have mentioned that USB-PD power delivery charging is not supported. Instead charging of the 4500mAh 4.7V battery is via the DC port.

Currently the Topton L21 Intel N100 handheld gaming console is available from AliExpress with prices starting from $265 USD.

Having just released the Alldocube iPlay 50 Mini Pro which has been overwhelmingly popular on AliExpress it seems too soon to be releasing another Android tablet. Particularly when they already have the iPlay 50 Mini with the UNISOC T606 processor.

What we do know so far is that they’ve opted for a smaller 8″ IPS display at 1280×800 resolution instead of the larger 8.4″ IPS display found in the iPlay50 Mini and Mini Pro. Out of the box the tablet has Android 13 with Google Play and Widevine L1 DRM for Amazon Prime, Disney, Hulu and Netflix HD streaming.

Under the hood it has the Allwinner A523 Octa-core CPU, 4GB RAM + 4GB extended RAM, 64GB storage, expandable microSD storage, 4000mAh battery, USB Type-C=, 5MP/5MP cameras, dual box speakers, WiFi and Bluetooth.

What’s interesting is that Alldocube have opted to use the Allwinner A523 CPU instead of the usual UNISOC T606/T610/T616/T618 CPUs. The A523 was recently introduced in 2023 and offers 4x ARM Cortex-A55 cores @ 1.42GHz and 4x ARM Cortex-A55 cores @ 1.8GHz. This is paired with an ARM Mali-G57 MC1 2EE CPU.

Compared to the UNISOC T606 with 6x ARM Cortex-A55 @ 1.6GHz and 2x ARM Cortex-A75 @ 1.6GHz cores this puts it at about 5% less performance based on benchmarks. So for gaming this tablet would only be suitable for the lightest games and emulation.

Availability

The Alldocube iPlay 50 Mini Lite is due to be released on October 16 at AliExpress with a price of $?9.99 USD. This will likely be $99.99 or $89.99 USD.

The iPlay 50 Mini Pro is the successor to the Alldocube iPlay 50 Mini which featured an 8.4″ display, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and the low end Unisoc T606 octa-core processor. This new tablet improves upon the original by offering 8GB RAM, 256GB storage and the mid-range MediaTek G99 octa-core processor.

According to Alldocube the MediaTek Helio G99 scores 400,000+ on the Antutu benchmark. According to Nanoreview this CPU currently achieves 377,486 which puts it just below the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G. With this kind of hardware the tablet is definitely a good choice for gaming.

The main differences are that the Rockchip RK3326S quad-core Cortex-A35 CPU has been replaced with a Rockchip RK3566 quad-core Cortex-A55 CPU and the 3GB RAM has been bumped to 4GB RAM. Unfortunately the RK3566 is still quite dated and at half the performance of the Unisoc Tiger T606 it won’t be big on gaming performance. The 2MP/5MP cameras have been bumped up to 8MP/13MP.

On the software side it’s expected to be running DokeOS_P 3.0 which is Blackview’s version of Android 12 with a number of changes. Mostly around the stock Android launcher, a more tablet friendly interface and memory management.

The rest of the specs are the same as the Pad 70. Includinga 10.1″ IPS HD+ display with 1280×800 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio and 300nit brightness. 64GB storage with microSD card support, 6580mAh battery with USB Type-C charging, dual speakers and 9.9mm slim with 520g weight.

Given this tablet isn’t a big powerhouse it would still be suitable for light gaming including emulation, ebooks, comics, web browsing and media playback in HD.

No news yet on a release date or price. With the Oscal Pad 60 going for around $100 USD at AliExpress, the Oscal Pad 70 would likely cost $130-$150 USD.

For starters the PIPO N5 features 5G connectivity provided by UNISOC’s Tiger T7510 5G chipset. The UNISOC Tiger T7510 is a combination of the Ivy V510 5G modem and the Tiger T710 processor that were both released in 2020.

You might think that a release date of 2020 sounds old when this article is published in 2022, but in reality most budget Android tablets are rocking the Tiger T618 chipset and that was released in 2019.

The Ivy V510 5G modem supports sub-6GHz spectrum bands, VoNR voice call support and a download speed up to 2.3Gbps. The Tiger T710 chipset is an octacore CPU with 4x ARM Cortex-A75 cores @ 2.0GHz and 4x ARM Cortex-A55 cores @ 1.8GHz. For the GPU it uses a PowerVR 9444 @ 800Mhz.

This is an improvement over the T618 that uses 42x A75 and 6x A55 cores with an ARM Mali-G52 GPU.

Now onto the PIPO N5 features itself. The tablet has a 10.4″ 2000×1200 IPS display, 128GB or 256GB internal storage, 4GB or 8GB RAM, Android 11, 5MP Front, 13MP Rear cameras, USB-C, 3.5mm audio, Microphone, dual speakers, WiFi 5, Bluetooth, pogo pins for keyboard and a 7000mAh battery. The tablet weighs 532g and measures 250 x 160 x 8.8mm.

PIPO N5 Availability

The PIPO N5 is currently only available to be purchased in bulk from PIPO directly on Alibaba. Given that they’re an ODM/OEM we can probably expect to see big brands like Teclast, Chuwi, Alldocube and Blackview to use this tablet in the near future.

It’ll certainly be exciting to see the Tiger T710 and T7510 chipset tablets hit the market soon.

The Blackview Tab 10 Pro is running Doke OS_P2.0 which is Blackview’s own version of Android 11. The main difference between Doke OS and stock Android is the launcher, theme and some included apps.

In terms of hardware it has a 10.1″ IPS HX8279 panel with 1920×1200 resolution and 350nits brightness. It uses the MediaTek MT8788V Octa-Core CPU, ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage with microSD support. The tablet measures 243 x 162 x 8.8mm and weighs 588g.

For the cameras Blackview have opted to use something more suitable for the job. A Sony IMX219 8.0MP Front Camera and Sony IMX258 13MP Rear Camera. Unfortunately the battery is smaller than the previous tablet at 6580mAh, however it now supports 30W fast charging via USB-C.

Another big addition to this tablet is Widevine L1 DRM certification. What this means is that the tablet is able to stream Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ in FHD resolution. The Blackview Tab 11 was their first tablet with Widevine L1, however UNISOC have not been whitelisted by Netflix like MediaTek has so the content is still played in standard definition.

Like other Android tablets released recently it offers 4G LTE with Dual SIM support, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and dual speakers.

Update: The Chuwi HiPad Pro is available now from $299.

The most likely reason is that Qualcomm processors are a lot more expensive to buy and license than MediaTek processors. In an effort to save costs, Chuwi would have opted to get the G90T instead given the lower price. Another reason is that the Snapdragon 662 is already considered to be old by Qualcomm as it was released in January 2020.

Qualcomm would have stopped production of this and instead pushed one of their newer mid-range processors, like the Snapdragon 730G or 750G optimised for gaming.

Fortunately this upgrade really isn’t a bad thing. In AnTuTu 9 benchmarks the Snapdragon 662 scored 201469, while the Helio G90T scored 320544. Or to put simply, a 59% higher score. The Mali-G76 MC4 is also clocked higher than the Adreno 610 so the game performance is better too.

Besides the CPU upgrade, Chuwi have assured me that all other specs remain the same. This includes Android 11, 10.8″ IPS Display, 8GB RAM, 128GB UFS2.1 flash memory, four hifi speakers, 7000mAh battery and most importantly Widevine L1 DRM for HD Netflix and Amazon Prime.

One additional change Chuwi haven’t mentioned is likely to be the fast charging. The Snapdragon 662 HiPad Pro has Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, so the Helio G90T HiPad Pro will use Pump Express 3.0 or 4.0 instead.

Availability

According to Chuwi the HiPad Pro Helio G90T tablet is expected to arrive late November to early December 2021.

UPDATE: The Chuwi HiPad Pro G90T is now available from Chuwi AliExpress from $299 USD.

The new tablet will be available on Chuwi.com and Chuwi AliExpress Official.

Alternatively the Chuwi HiPad Air with a UNISOC T618 processor can be picked up instead with Widevine L1 coming soon through an OTA update.
