Biddydorm

Cheldi jewellery arrived in biddydorm (benidorm in winter) on Thursday 14th November.

Weather was fine and quite warm.

A short coach ride to our accomodation the fiesta park hotel in the old town. We were all inclusive.

Tradition always says Jane and I have a nice cool beer when we arrive at our holiday destination. This wasn't a problem, just flashed our wrist bands at the bar tender.

Well the novelty of being 'all inclusive" for janey was to prove too much on day 1. We ended up on baileys with brandy (several of them) hic hic.

Sunday and Wednesday was benidorm's market day. A fave with Jane and I. We found done really good bargains.

Even got Armani watches for €10 ha ha ha.

If there was a bargain to be had in benidorm, we had it..... And some.

The beautiful sea front just added to the splendour of this wonderful holiday.

One thing we learned, older Spanish people are quite rude.... No that's a lie, they are very rude.... Oh and very small. We towered over 99% of them male and female. (We are hardly giants ourselves in 5'7 Jane 5'5).

The shops in the old town were fantastic. We bought lots of watches and fashion jewellery for ourselves. 'Cheap as chips'

Throughout the week, we only saw rain once, the majority if time the weather was sunny, the hottest times being between 12-3pm.

If anyone is looking for a really great winter week away, we can thuroughly recommend biddydorm.

The week flew far too fast leaving us feeling chilled but sad to be leaving.

Back to the grindstone. Save for more holidays. Yeah.

What do you look for when searching on jewellery sites?

Well today has been a mixture of photography and then listing products.

I do try and be as descriptive as possible with every listing i do either on the website or on other arenas when selling our products.

I know what i look for when navigating a website, easy navigation, categories that reflect their contents, good search facilities and especially good truthful pictures. What do you look for?

There is nothing worse that seeing a piece of jewelley on a picture, falling in love with it, buying it, then receiving it only to be disappointed with the quality when it arrives.

Fortunately, to date, i have never had anyone complain of quality of products, reflecting again that cheldi jewellery DOES only sell quality items.

In life, i have always treated people the way i would want to be treated, the same could be said when i sell items. I would never want a customer dissatisfied with a product, just as i wouldn't want to be.

I'm always happy to hear comments on the content of our website, so would look forward to replies to this post

What's Your Favourite Gemstone And Why??

All gemstones are unique, that is, there are no 2 stones alike from any string.

What draws you to a particular gemstone? is it colour? the look? the feel?

I have 2 preferences, one is that i like the colour, and secondly, I like the way it feels. That moment when you first put on a necklace, the stones are so cold, they fill your body with a shiver, is that the cold, or is it excitement OR is it both?

My personal favourite stone (if i HAD to narrow it down to 1) I think would be amethyst (the dark purple shade) Amethysts, come in all sorts of shades, but perhaps the most recognisable is the deep purple colour.
If you look closely to any stone, you will see a wonder of shades and marks. Each stone having unique markings and shades. Its only when you look so closely, you will begin to see the magic inside the stone.

So, what is your favourite stone and why? If you look at our new look website, I have also classed stones in colours too as well as just gemstones. This may make it easier if in fact you do have a favourite colour instead of a favourite stone.

A Beautiful Day In Royton Oldham

Today, is lovely sunshine, it isn't even cold. (is this Manchester?) All sounds good? Well it would be if my windows hadn't been so dirty!!!!
The sunshine really shows them up!

So I'm sat here listing some of the most beautiful gemstone jewellery ever, and am being constantly distracted by grimy windows.

Can I ignore them? will the sun go in? No to both of them.

2 hours later and a lot of climbing on furniture, i have a beautiful very large very clean window to look out of!

All great? No the blooming sun has gone off the windows......Come back sally sunshine and show off my clean windows :-(

A Night At The Theatre its a mystery miss toyah wilcox

Well cheldi jewellery had the night off tonight and took themselves off to the theater! It sounded just what the doctor had ordered!
'hormonal housewives' starring among others toyah wilcox ...........its a mystery!
well 3 middle ageish women going to see an alleged comedy about a time in their lives they will soon be reaching.

Well, the ingredients were there, however that was it. There were 3 females in the show, I have no idea who they were apart from our 80's star toyah!

OMG, it was awful! it had such potential as well. If I had to vote for worst actress ever... Toyah I'm afraid you take that award.

Her timing was well out, every time she spoke she was so wooden, and acting like a pantomime understudy.

The phrase still stands...........'its a mystery' firstly how did toyah get the part? and secondly WHY did i pay good money for that??

I think tomorrow I wil have to lose myself into more work on the website, in an attempt to rid the painful memory of tonight. Toyah.......dont give up the day job

The All New Look Cheldi Jewellery I.T. and me!!!!

Well today I have spent a good 8 hours creating a new front page for our website!! Is it me???
Well HTML and such forth sometimes goes right over my head, the problems that come with age! I'm not quite a dinosaur with the old I.T. but am not a whizz either. It a struggle but I enjoy the challenge.

Theres only me showing an interest in it, buy hey ho, I suppose I am just proud of myself even if no one else is........... yes its blowing ones own trumpet time. and boy do I have some puff!

I know its each to their own, but come on, all constructive criticism is welcome (if it doesn't hurt too much) I've had enough hurt in my life recently, but I digress.

We have decided to go for a more sharp look on our website, and we are now concentrating purely on gemstone jewellery.

We have learned that we cannot offer enough attention to the important jewellery i.e gemstones, when we are diversifying with other jewellery........ So Gemstones you have our full attention at last!

It will take a few weeks to have our full catalogue listed, but bare with us, I'm doing my best. My trouble is. I get so excited about new lines and want everyone to see them NOW..

So please, still feel free to browse, and buy our exciting and classy jewellery even throughout the revamp of the website. I cam assure you orders will still be sent out in the very next post. first class.

Retirement!.... self employed

well i have now officially retired from my 'real' job and am now totally self employed!
i am a full time make up jewellery handbags and watches on line retailer............ i have to say, i cant remember when i was last so happy.

yes i have the financial support from my works pension, but the drive I'm finding to become financially successful on my own is unbelievable.

i am not, will never be or want to be filthy rich..... money to me truly is the route of all evil. i just like a couple of 'nice' things and a couple of nice holidays...is that a lot to ask?

i just wanted to share with my fellow bloggers that I've found new life in me, happiness and fulfilment

Feeling poorly

We'll I should now be really running around getting everything ready for my wonderful trip to NYC. Instead, I'm in bed with bronchitus.

I'm 2 and a bit days in on the anti biotics but still no improvement. Can't believe I've waited all year for this exciting trip only to be struck down now.

Pleeeeeeease let me feel better tomorrow....... There's shopping to be done.

Well god, you are really trying to put me off going to New York, first you send a hurricane (with another storm looming next week!) then you sent snow, now you have sent me a chest and throat infection.
If i didn't know better I'd say you were trying to tell me something?

To say i don't feel well at all is quite an under statement, i am dosed up with anti bio tics and cold remedies hoping to feel better by Sunday

if i keep thinking of shopping, jewellery, make-up, beads, sightseeing and great company i may be able to over come all.

God i love you and respect you and i know if you didn't want me to go you WOULD stop me, but please can i feel a bit better?

Perperation ..... The final countdown New York

There really are only a matter of days now until we land in New York so the prep must begin.
There will not be any new listings on cheldi jewellery for a couple of weeks, this week I will be showing my friend around the website etc so orders can continue to be sent out first class and straight away. Katy, my friend, has helped many times before, and even has her own site so its just really a matter of showing her were things are. ( sometimes I don't know ha ha ).

I can't begin to tell you how excited Jane and I are about our impending trip. We are like a couple of school girls planning and giggling.

We know a few places already to find new semi precious beads and I'm sure we will find more. ( they cannot hide from the intrepid warriors!)

So needless to say, our trip will be the inspiration to more new ranges in our already unique and unusual semi precious stone designs.

But fear not, we will of course find plenty of time to 'play'. Work hard, play harder. A great motto!!

And so the countdown is on ............

Counting The Days To New York City

Well our trip to NYC comes closer and closer, it has kind of dampened our spirits due to the fact hurricane Sandy has left such devistation.
We as always will have a great time playing, working, and playing a bit more, but our thoughts are most definately with those poor souls who have lost everything, some even their lives.

We are still very much looking forward to our trip, where we will be sourcing new suppliers of semi precious
beads, along with a touch of the trendy fashion jewellery.

We are very interested in meeting new contacts in NYC, with hopefully creating some business links with buyers / suppliers out there.

A day in the life of a jewellery

I have not stopped 'doing' since 6 am this morning. And the sad thing is there has been no time at all playing with jewellery, photographing jewellery or listing jewellery. Why? Because other tasks HAD to be done. ie 'real job' cleaning car cutting lawn tending to my sick friend etc etc. this next week looks horrendous in my calendar and yet again there is no space for jewellery. I think drastic measures are needed.
GIVE UP DAY JOB. Ha ha ha. If only.

Hospital for the day!
