A Weekend of Experience

I do agree that I was being a failed Blogger, who neglected her blog for so long. Haha. There were times when I said in my head 'I want to blog about this' but I forgot at the end. =.=

Okay. What does the title mean? Hehe. Well, I am proud to say, after this weekend, I have increased my leadership skills, teamwork ability, social network, ability to face problems ^^ I'm not boasting, as I was the event planner of an event, and a volunteer for charity! =)

## Trip to National Science Center (26/11/2011): The event that has been anticipated by Maths & Science Club Committee and students who are participating. Had a bad start, as the bus was late (as usual. My dear college, when are you gonna improve your bus services). Other than that, everything was fine. Got feedback from a few participants, they enjoyed the event a lot and was very satisfied with the organizer (which is US! ^^). A big THANK YOU to all of the committee who has participated and planned this event! (Forgive me if I missed someone, let me know)

JsKee, the president, the main organizer, the planner, the one who has contributed without wanting for return *bows*;

Mr.Saw, the most dedicated lecturer and advisor ever, who supported us in anything we did, and tried his best to help us solve our problems *super bow!*

## Red Carnival 2011 (27/11/2011): This was not my first experience being a volunteer, but I am still learning through this process. Although tired from the event held one day before, I did not have the idea of giving up. Early morning, I see a bunch of active people working together, trying to make this event a success. They, like me, sacrificed their sleep and relaxation of a Sunday morning to join this event, the Red Carnival, which pledges for the sickness that everybody is scared of, AIDS. It is very meaningful, when through this event, I can see many different things. I see the fear of people towards this sickness, I see the cold-hearted side of the society (and also the warm-hearted side as well), I see people who are different, but working on a same objective as me. I dislike discrimination towards people who are different from us, I guess this event is suitable for me? =)

I agree with my lecturer. There are things that cannot be gained through books. It's EXPERIENCE. Although tired, I've got more than I expected ^^ Hope to have more eventful weekends to come! I really really enjoyed them, especially when I have a bunch of great friends with me =)

Real Steel

Muscular guy? Not my type. Robots? Not my cup of tea. What brought me to Real Steel? I guess it will be the positive comments on Facebook. Was being a little too easily influenced now. Haha. I remembered JsKee having a bad impression towards this movie also 'Watch robots fight again, not nice de', end up both of us step into the cinema for this movie. Haha

Synopsis:

“Real Steel” is an action drama about a former boxer (Hugh Jackman) who, against all odds, gets one last shot at a comeback when he teams up with his estranged son (Dakota Goyo) to build and train the perfect contender for the new high-tech sport of robot boxing.

Ratings: 9/10 (Guess what)

Maybe because I went into the cinema without high expectations, I feel very surprised of the 'awesomeness' of this movie. It can be said, uhm, against the flow. Movies nowadays are too emphasizing on 3D effects, visual effects, bla bla bla, and sometimes, the producers forgot how to hammer the movie into people's hearts. However, in this movie, we certainly can find something to treasure and appreciate. Father-son relationship made a lot of people cry, it seems. Child-robot relationship made everyone go like 'awwww :3'

Without neglecting the usual elements that attracts audiences' attention, Real Steel displays an adequate amount of computer graphics and visual effects. I love the tech gizmos there. Imagine holding a transparent phone. Haha. And Atom the robot is cute! Maybe because I'm having too much of Artificial Intelligence (AI) now. I have a subject on that this semester. LOL

If you are looking for sentimental dramas, watch this movie. If you are seeking some hot guys/girls to spice up your lives, watch this movie. If you love robots, watch this movie. If you like to laugh, watch this movie. I you are adventurous, watch this movie. In conclusion, this movie is suitable for kids, teens, adults and senior citizens. No matter what are you looking for, there will be some of it inside. =)

The main day itself. Spent time with JsKee in the morning/afternoon and family at night.
Thanks to JsKee for the surprise birthday cake and the presents! ^^ Finally got my dream, a musical box! With a photo frame =) Currently looking for a really nice photo to put inside the frame! ^^

Day after. My Lunar Birthday. Hehe. *No red eggs, sob sob* Spent a great time in a Korean Restaurant with my bunch of friends which includes: Jerry, YawKwan & ChewPui, LipXin & LiKien, Brian & Cristin (another birthday girl ^^), HawJeh & LihYin, Su Nyen and dear dear JsKee. I thought it was going to be a normal get-together dinner, but they prepared cakes and presents for me and Cristin (another girl who was born on 8th Oct)! Surprised! Thank you thank you. I like the boss there. He was so friendly and guess what. He played the birthday song in the restaurant when we cut the cake! Wow. First time I got this type of treatment. Really surprised ^^

This is it. The price is around RM40 per person. Worth it because you can refill side dishes and very filling.

Nasi Lemak 2.0

Everyone in Malaysia who are watching the news will know Namewee. Or rather, 黄明志. He was once the most popular singer in Malaysia, the extreme critic of the government, and the person who has the guts to tell everyone in the whole world what is happening in Malaysia.

Recently, he came out with a movie. I followed his journey towards producing a movie, it was not a smooth path. Now, it is on the cinemas. There are still reporters and politicians against him due to his past. Went to watch this movie with contradictory comments yesterday.

Ratings: 6/10

Synopsis:

Young Chef Huang (Namewee) struggles to get his restaurant business going because he cannot adapt to the "localised' cooking his patrons are looking for. However, despite his unpopular cuisine, he is well-known as Hero Huang in the local neighbourhood where he carries out good deeds by helping the community - that is, until he met Xiao K (Karen Kong) who gets him in deep trouble. So as to get his life and the restaurant business back on track, Chef Huang must now seek help from a mysterious hawker stall lady (Adibah Noor), who summons him to embark on the extraordinary journey. He is to meet many 'local heroes' who will help him rediscover his roots and the hidden message of 'Nasi Lemak'.

Hmmm. I support Malaysian production. Really. Only if the quality is good. For me, this movie is just a 'muhibbah' comedy with loads of 'maksud tersirat'. It will not be understandable by foreigners, but Malaysians who look at it will smile and laugh because we truly understand it.

A very good concept, matching the 1Malaysia slogan we are having here in Malaysia. However, from then till now, I still have to tell that, I don't really like Namewee's style. Well in another way, I don't like people who use bad words to say Hi to people. In this movie, I can see there are some dialogues and elements which are either 18SX, or derived from bad words. I was thinking, what if there are children watching this movie, and ask what are the people doing? Adults laugh at it, but please, limit them as an inner adult joke. I don't know, just feel uncomfortable watching some of the parts.

I sincerely hope that Namewee will have greater Malaysian productions soon.

China Drama

Ever since I was young, I have developed a great interest in traditional (or maybe ancient) Chinese attire. I love Chinese ancient-themed dramas. A LOT! However, the only producer of drama I've approached is TVB Hong Kong. Though some feelings are not there when I watch their ancient dramas, I still watched them because I have no choice.

But now, things has changed! Muahahaha. Addicted to China-made ancient Chinese dramas! I'm not criticizing TVB, but after I've watched both and compared, China-made dramas are eventually stronger. The producers really put strong effort into producing the dramas, which can be seen, when we observe the attire, the dialogues, the settings of the drama. The actors and actresses are professional too!

I'm addicted to this drama recently. 《宫锁心玉》. A Chinese blockbuster drama. Love the storyline, love the actors and actresses, love the setting.

There were a particular couple whom I like the most, 杨慕and冯绍峰. I don't know why, this is the first time I see them performing, but I love them at the first sight. They look so matching and cute together! 杨慕is so pretty! 中国古典美，should be.

Wondering why would this happen? Watch the drama. XD

Other than both of them, there are also other actors and actresses who put in a lot of effort in this drama as well.

Of Seafood, Fisherman Village and Double Date ♥

People were busily celebrating Malaysia Day on the 16th of September, these two couples headed to Pulau Ketam to enjoy a joyful double date. Haha. These two couples : JsKee &I, our ex classmate, Janet and her boy, Eugene.

As you know Malaysia Day is public holiday, I can easily draw an equation out of it. Public holiday : no need to work : relax : go around : more people outside : CROWD. Everywhere were crowded in our entire day. LRT started to get crowded when we reach Sungai Besi station, Masjid Jamek station is crowded (because we coincidently bumped into the crowd leaving Dataran Merdeka after the celebration), KL Sentral is crowded, KTM is crowded, ferry to Pulau Ketam is crowded, restaurant for lunch is crowded. Aiks.

Travelling to Pulau Ketam by public transport is really tiring. We departed from Seri Petaling LRT Station at 9.15am, reached Masjid Jamek interchange station at 9.45am, and reached KL Sentral at 10.00am. Departed to Port Klang KTM station at 10.30am, reached there around 12.30pm, took the 12.45pm ferry to Pulau Ketam, and reached there around 1pm.Travelling time = 3 hours. OMG. If you have a car, please DRIVE. At least from KL to Port Klang is around 1 hour only.

Dirty seaside...

There are 2 types of ferries taking passengers from Port Klang to Pulau Ketam, the authorized ones and the private ones. Authorized ones are bigger, air conditioned, with life jackets inside the ferry and cost only RM7 per journey. Private ones are small speedboats without air conditioning and cost RM10. The authorized ones are slower, reached Pulau Ketam around 20 minutes time, but better slow than never, better safe than sorry.

Main street of Pulau Ketam

Lunch time! OMG. Restaurants were crowded. The first restaurant located beside the jetty gave us an illusion that the island does not have much people. However, when we went further into the island, we found packed restaurants >.< The restaurants that sell seafood in Pulau Ketam are located on one street only, which is located just opposite the police station. We chose Jia Xiang Yuan Restaurant as our destination to have lunch.

Oh ya. There is a stall selling lala and oyster omelet (lala jian & o jian) outside Jia Xiang Yuan. STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDABLE. We paid RM15 for a plate which was supposed to be a 4-person portion, but it was not that amount. There were too much starch and eggs as well. Lala were EXTREMELY TINY. If you're looking for lala jian and o jian, I suggest that you go further into the street, you'll see a stall at your left, those are better.

The flesh were fat and juicy, and there were adequate amount of flesh inside, not like some restaurants, they serve shells without flesh =.=
The spiciness can be said as zero, because I'm zero spicy tolerant and I don't think it's spicy.
Taste: 4/5 (would be better if it is a little more spicy)

The taste of the veg was alright, not too salty, just nice
Maybe because the chef was too busy, we discovered one leaf to be dirty. Made that as a punishment to the one who guessed the price with the largest difference (turned out to be JsKee) but at the end he didn't take it. Haha.
Taste: 3/5 (Sorry I heart cleanliness)

Also maybe because of the chef is too busy, he forgot to clean the excess oil at the side of the plate.
And I thought deep fried stuff are supposed to come with a special sauce? Not sure about this restaurant but they asked us to dip in chilli sauce =.=
Taste: 3/5 (minus 1 for the appearance and 1 more for the SAUCE!)

Fishball Soup.
Fishballs were nice, bouncy (Although scientifically, bouncy = dangerous)
The soup was not like those in KL full of MSG, but there wasn't much flavour to it as well.
Taste: 5/5 because I don't like heavy taste =)

After lunch, I tried something which I've never tried before! Guess what, I sat on a bicycle for the longest time in my life! Yes, sat. Because I don't know how to ride one.. Thanks to JsKee for being my driver ^^ (Although this was also his first experience to fetch people on his bicycle) Bicycle rental is available at several places in Pulau Ketam, standard price is RM5 per day. Recommended place will be the restaurant you see first after you reach the jetty. Because from there you get your bicycle early, and return it at the end of your journey. Not like us, after we returned our bicycles, we still had to walk for 2 minutes to the jetty.

Always saw those actors in drama fetching the actress around on a bicycle, so romantic ^^ This is my turn to try! Hehe

On our bicycles, we went to a place suitable for us, the so-called Couple Bridge. We actually went to the wrong one. Haha. The scenery on this unknown bridge was nice. Although it's a bit scary for me. I'm scared of heights! =.=

Had a great time relaxing at the bridge.. Time was running fast and we decided to go home. Before that we visited the Nam Tien Kheng temple. No photos because the boys left us with their bicycles! Grrr.. Janet & I were being good daughters that listened to our Mummy's advice about a Chinese culture. Must pray to the God inside the temple if you enter it.

Then we had Yo Yo ice and fried ice cream. I've never tried those before! The Yo Yo ice stall is just located at the opposite of the police station. RM2 and you get to mix flavors together. The fried ice cream is sold by an old uncle at the price of RM2.30 just beside the Pulau Ketam Inn. Flavors varieties include Yam, Chocolate, Corn, Vanilla. Left the island full of satisfaction after that.

Great way to relax after submitting two stressful assignments! Great people, great place. Great experience for a city girl like me who's never been on a bicycle before, never tried fried ice cream and Yo Yo Ice, and never seen a fisherman's village before. I shall come back again =) Janet & Eugene, let's organize more trips together! Haha. Enjoyed this double date with you guys.

Went for a short outing today to Pavillion KL with JsKee during our 7-hour long break.

Yeah. 7 hour break between classes. Thanks to our brilliant timetable admin.

Understood a philosophy today.

Happiness ≠ Money.

But we were very happy.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows : Part 2

Went out to celebrate my anniversary with JsKee today, and watched the finale of the legendary Harry Potter movie series.

Since I'm such a great fan of it, I shall write the synopsis myself.

Ratings: 8/10

Synopsis:
Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) continues on the journey of searching the Horcruxes in order to destroy Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes). Alongside with him was his best friends, Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson). Continued from the last part, Harry Potter eventually analysed that one of the Horcruxes is kept in Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter)'s vault in the Gringotts Bank. The trio, with the help of Griphook the goblin (Warwick Davis), broke into the vault and destroyed the Horcrux. Then, he goes back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as he knows that a Horcrux lies there. Voldemort eventually discovered that Harry was hunting down Horcruxes. He led his army marching towards Hogwarts School, preparing to attack, while Harry searches and destroys the Horcrux. Headmaster, Professor Snape (Alan Rickman) fled and left Professor McGonagall (Maggie Smith) in charge. Hogwarts prepared for the battle and fought. Many lives were sacrificed including Remus Lupin (David Thewlis). Harry Potter, after understanding the truth that he was also a Horcrux, marched towards Voldemort to die. Voldemort killed the part of his soul within Harry, and Harry came back to life and fought Voldemort to his death. 19 years later, Harry, Ginny (Bonnie Wright), Ron and Hermione sends their children to Hogwarts at the King's Cross Station.

So. It all ends here. So sad. This movie, as expected, is darker than ever. I didn't even laugh in the movie. Everything happened seem so dark and melancholic. Watched this in 3D, i don't regret. At all. As this is the last movie, isn't it?

I know I'm not going to write a third-person-view review in this. Because it has been my childhood. I've grown up watching Harry Potter. Reading Harry Potter. How can I write a proper review when I know it all ends after this post? But what I can say is, as usual, the plot of the movie did not really follow the books. However, effects were cool and amazing. I specially love the 3D part where Nagini opens its jaws to attack. Goodbye, Harry Potter. My childhood, my memories. I'll remember myself reading/watching/collecting Harry Potter until the age of 80. T.T

How I Wish the Harry Potter World Exists

Even for non-Harry Potter fans, I can bet that they will LOVE the Harry Potter world if it does exist. Why? Because people (Harry Potter fans or not) have been wishing for things or situations that actually happened in the Harry Potter world. Disagree? Read below.

1. We wished for things that are far away from us to automatically fly towards us, so we don't have to walk to reach them.

- This has been done first, by Ron Weasley, who successfully casted the Wingardium Leviosa spell to make a huge stick fly towards a troll, to save his best friend out of trouble. (The Philosopher's Stone)

- There is another spell, Accio, the Summoning Charm, where casters can make things they want fly towards them. Without this spell, Harry Potter will be dead in the graveyard, without making the Triwizard Cup reach him in time. (Goblet of Fire)

- Another scene in the book, not in the movie. When Harry Potter turns of age, he uses Accio to get his glasses fly to him, just to enjoy his moment where he can use magic out of school, LEGALLY. (Deathly Hallows)

2. We wish to forget certain unhappy memories, or take it more digitally, 'delete' them from our mind.

- In Harry Potter world, there is something call Pensieve, where the owner can retrieve a strand of his/her memories (which look like a strand of illuminating hair) and store them into the Pensieve. The owner will lose that particular memory. Dumbledore did that, when he had to face the fact of Harry Potter, his favourite student 'cheating' himself into the Triwizard Challenge. (Goblet of Fire)

- Before Snape died, he retrieved his precious memories with Lily Evans and Harry saw them in the Pensieve in Dumbledore's office. (Deathly Hallows)

- There is a spell that wipes memories completely, Obliviate. We wished for it when life is totally a mess for us. In reality, we have to do that by experiencing an accident and damage our brain. Gilderoy Lockhart experienced this as he tried to use Ron's broken wand to make Harry and Ron forget everything. Too bad the spell backfired, and he became a resident of St. Mungo's Hospital (not in the movies, in the book only). (Chamber of Secrets)

- Harry Potter world has it. Dumbledore. Did you ever see him punish Harry/Ron/Hermione when they challenge school rules non-stop? Never. He was a great headmaster who truly understands childrens' nature. He was also the only person who believed Harry's stories about Voldemort ('children's tales', they say), other than Ron and Hermione. Awww. So caring. Until Harry suggested to form an army under his name. (Order of Pheonix) So sad he died. (Half Blood Prince)

5. We wish for teleports.

- Teleports are for Muggles like us. In the Harry Potter world, it is called Apparation. Characters can travel to faraway places in a matter of seconds. Apparation seems painful, as described by Harry (Half Blood Price). Therefore travellers can choose other methods, for instance, Floo Powder or Portkeys.

6. In school, we wished that we know where our headmasters/teachers are, so we can commit 'crimes'

Thanks to Torrent, I can enjoy the DVDRip version of Black Swan.
Had been wanting to watch this in the cinema, but I remembered that time was my exam period.

She lives with her obsessive former ballerina mother Erica (Hershey) who exerts a suffocating control over her. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Phew. I need a break. A break for my mind. This story is really dark. (Of course, it's a thriller, what you expect?) No cute lovey dovey scenes, no humour, just plain black and white. To me, it's a piece of ART. It's not any commercial movies like Harry Potter, Transformers or Iron Man, where they insert unwanted humour, romance just to attract audiences' attraction. I specially love the graceful dance moves, the music and the acting of Natalie Portman.

Personally, I do think that Natalie Portman is not a very good actress, but a BRILLIANT actress. Years ago, she shaved her hair bald for a movie, and now, she performed really good in this movie. I can totally feel her inner emotions. Near to crazy. Split personality. Good vs bad, black vs white. Imagine if all these emotions attack your mind one day. In this movie, she just successfully let them in her and let them out onto the big screen. In addition, as an actress, the filming of the movie isn't according to the flow of the plot. Therefore, during the filming, Natalie may be white swan today, black swan the next, then back to white swan again. I really salute her strong mentality, being able to cope with two contrasting emotions.

Hope you don't go crazy watching this. Haha.

Kungfu Panda 2

I know, I know.. This is a late post again. Haha.
Watched this movie like 2 weeks ago and only updating now. Fail to be an active blogger. Hahaz.

Anyway.
The 2nd part of the Chinese Panda, Po in action.

Synopsis: (cinemaonline.com.my)
"Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom Of Doom" is an upcoming animated film adventure and the sequel to "Kung Fu Panda". Set to be in 3-D, the movie is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson with actor Jack Black reprising his role as Po, the Giant Panda. The plot will involve a new villain with a weapon so powerful it threatens the very existence of kung fu. It is then up to Po, Master Shifu, and the Furious Five to defend it, whilst along the way, Po is forced to confront his past.

Ratings: 7/10

As this is a movie with target audience of children, simple plot and character traits are expected. I have to admit that I am no more a kid, therefore I find the storyline a bit slow moving and, uhm, boring. Theme was Revenge, if put into an adventure/action movie, I'm sure it'll be an interesting one, but not in a kids movie, as kids don't really know what revenge is. Haha. Nearly fell asleep on JsKee's shoulder again.

Sidetrack: Oh ya. Did I mention I brought SUSHI and had them in the cinema? LOLX. How boring it is, the scene of Baby Po appearing made me wake up. SO CUTE! ^^

However, I have to admit, as a Chinese (no racial issues here), I am really proud of this movie and I love the theme a lot. Kung Fu, Dumplings, Tai Chi, Panda, Dragonboats, all these are unique and beautiful Chinese culture. Good that they added all these into the movie. I love the ending part. They used traditional paper cutting (剪纸) as the background.

My personal opinion. Why is it so few dialogues of Jacky Chan? I always loved him as the Monkey. Haha. Tigress was sexy, as she is, Angelina Jolie.

As my memory of this movie is going to fade, I can't write as much as I used to. So sorry peeps, overall the movie was fine, enjoy it in the cinema! Shall end this post with a video of a cute (and blur) baby panda, enjoy!

Angry Birds

Hmmm so here was I this morning and afternoon. Hehe. Apparently, the whole world is having Angry Bird fever nowadays. Angry Birds started up with a basic & simple shooting game, and now it has advanced till having sideline products like plush toys, T-shirts, handphone chains, mobile phone casing and more. My boyfriend and I have a set of Angry Birds ourselves ^^

Anyway. Back to the event. Have been planning to visit this since a week ago, we finally did it by arriving QUITE early in the morning. 9.30am depart from Seri Petaling LRT station and reached there about 10.30am after stopping by in Times Square. The pre-event has already started, which Emcees invited the crowd to take part in the Sling 'n' Win session.

Human catapult? Haha.

11am, the event officially launched and started. JsKee & I queued at the Record-Breaking booth to take part in the World's Biggest Angry Birds Playground, which are to be inserted in the Guinness World Records. They targeted to have 1000 people to take part, and we were #36 and #37 =) As we registered online, we had some feebies as well ^^ The most useful one was the fan, especially during the event under the hot sun. Hahaz.

Second time encountering them. So coincident. First time and second time, both are during my journey back on LRT. =(

Guys VS Girls

My friend got a very interesting topic in her Chinese Debate session today.
"Which is more tiring : Guys or Girls?"

*Statements in this blog is solely my own opinion only. Not trying to be a sexist in any way.*

Personally, I think that being a girl is more tiring. Because I have been in for 19 years this makes me eligible to tell that.

Physically, girls are definitely more tiring than guys. Common sense, dudes. What can be more tiring than losing blood for a continuous week every month? Even if guys donate blood they can't do it every month also. Putting in some additional points like menstrual pains, lesser energy volume in girls compared to guys, I think we can basically conclude that from a physical point of view, girls are, no doubt, more tiring than guys.

Second point. Personality. As a girl, I can 100% understand that most girls, no doubt, are more perfectionists than guys. They look into every single detail and aspect as though it affects the whole situation. A single small detail incorrect, she will have to redo it again. This explains why normally girls have neater handwriting and organized notes than guys. However, this personality tires them as they (including me) are all the time rectifying and correcting each and every one of a single detail. They are constantly surrounded by fear of making mistakes, and mood swings when they don't get their desired outcome. Other than that, girls look into everything extremely important. When problem comes, they lose the things that they feel very important, this affects their emotions. Guys, you may think it is no big deal, but unfortunately, most girls are born with this personality of worrying and taking care of everything for you. Just to tire themselves more huh?

Thirdly, the perceptions of the society. It so happened that our ancestors looked down onto females for a long period of time, causing people (even nowadays) still have the mindset of girls being useless in everything. Even I myself have a few friends and relatives who behave like this. They would not accept whatever effort has the girl done. Poorer efforts and results done by the guys are accepted no matter how. Guys, imagine the feeling of yourself doubling your effort and knowledge but ended up deselected. We girls, definitely experience that more than you. That's why, girls are more tiring, as in competing with guys to gain acceptance to the society.

Facts? Experience. Who can talk more about a girl other than a girl?
And yes. I am really tired being a girl. But life has to go on, isn't it?
For guys who has high level of egoism, shame on you.

It was not that good though.

Paid RM35 and completed the journey for less than 3 hours.

Imagine the size of it now.

It may seem VERY BIG with 2 levels.

Anyways. I enjoyed it.

Sad thing is, I can't have a farewell lunch with her tomorrow, as her schedule is packed.

She made me interested in Business subjects,

She provided me with a good foundation in Business skills,

She impressed me with the way she argues about a fact with facts,

She pours knowledge and experience to my class, despite how ignorant and noisy were we.

Her patience, her dedication, her love.

For those who have been to Mid Valley recently, will discover a pirate ship embarked in the Centre Court. As the world is having Jack Sparrow fever, this is for advertising purpose of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The whole Centre Court has turned into an adventure land.

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 : On Stranger Tides

The beloved Captain Jack Sparrow is back in this fourth episode of the Pirates of the Caribbean series.
Hmmm but it did not manage to impress me?

Ratings: 6/10

Flamboyant seafarer Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) lands himself in a bit of a bind after being lured onto Blackbeard's (Ian McShane) ship by enigmatic siren Angelica (Penélope Cruz), and forced to seek out the Fountain of Youth. Trapped on the Queen Anne's Revenge with the most nefarious pirate in history, Captain Jack reflects on his past with the elusive Angelica while embarking on his wildest adventure to date. With shambling zombies on deck and gorgeous mermaids beckoning sailors into the icy waters below, this time Jack Sparrow has his work cut out for him.

So why I don't like this movie?

Reason number 1:
Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley are gone! Hmmm. All along I considered PirateS of the Caribbean as the trio, but somehow this trilogy ended few years back. It should end by then! This continuation is not related to the trilogy, two of the trio is missing, and from the start till end, it's jst Jack Sparrow, Jack Sparrow and Jack Sparrow. One man show huh? Should call this Pirate (without the S) of the Carribean then. There are a few supporting characters that managed to capture my eye, but I forgot their names after that.

Reason number 2:
Compared to the previous trilogy, the storyline of this movie somehow became V-E-R-Y slow-moving. It managed to drag for 2 hours and 15 minutes, but it did not manage to capture my 100% attention for that long. Nearly fell asleep in the cinema on JsKee's shoulder. *Yawn* Fighting scenes were not fighting, looks like dancing to me. Especially with the forever-never-change-background-music. Lol.

However, there's a thumb up. A small little thumb up. I like Penelope Cruz, especially after reading the behind-the-scenes, I find her a very professional actress. Acting in an adventure movie when she is pregnant eh? And I like the mermaid a lot. She has a typical Greek Goddess look. The romance between her and the Christian guy was touching as well. Too bad not much emphasis were put in it, as the whole movie was just Jack Sparrow, Jack Sparrow and Jack Sparrow. Hmmmm.

My humble advice to Disney, no more Pirates of the Caribbean 5 please. Yes, we love Jack Sparrow, but not too much please. Thank you.

When I was small I play masak masak.

Kids nowadays play Restaurant City on FB.

When I was small I use notepad.

Kids nowadays use iPad.

When I was small Mum taught me not to simply touch guys.

Kids nowadays kiss in classrooms.

When I was small teacher caned my kindergarten school mate for biting me.

Kids nowadays bully people and upload video on FB but end up getting nothing from the teachers.

When I was small my parents asked the teacher to be strict to me.

Kids nowadays can't even stand caning. If the teacher canes, there goes the teacher's career.

Hmmmm?

Am I that old to not accept all these? I'm also born in the 90s. Years elder than those kids you saw on Facebook.

In my opinion,

87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93 generations are the BEST generation ever.

We did not need to go through hardships in our parents' younger years,

We live in educated society,

We have strong moral values in us,

And we are now matured university students.

I realized that starting from 98 generation (this year's Form 1),

Everything goes upside down.
