Electronic Voting Machines have become ''Electronic Victory Machines'' for the Congress in the elections, BJP today alleged as it trailed in Maharashtra and Haryana polls. "The EVMs have become ''Electronic Victory Machines'' for Congress in the elections," BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters here.

Naqvi said these elections were conducted with EVMs despite many parties expressing concern over their functioning.

PMK leader S. Ramadoss said Wednesday that with nearly one-third of secretary-level posts in the central government being held by Malayalis, the "country is ruled by Kerala" and because of this Kerala usually "swings things in its favour".

"Kerala is the smallest among 30 large Indian states. But it is said out of 53 secretary-level posts at the centre, 19 are held by Keralites. Given this, people are wondering whether it is the central secretariat governing the whole country or it is the state secretariat of Kerala," Ramadoss said.

Balakrishanan, Konakuppakatil Gopinathan is our chief Justice of India who hails from Kerala.

The Supreme Court today rejected the plea by Tamil Nadu government seeking a stay on the go-ahead given by the Centre to Kerala for conducting survey and an investigation in Periyar Tiger Reserve area to build a new dam in place of existing Mullaperiyar dam.

"At this stage, no order is called for," a Bench comprising Justices D K Jain, M K Sharma and R M Lodha said while declining the plea by senior advocate K Parasaran for Tamil Nadu government.

The Bench said the apprehension of Tamil Nadu government on the issue was "misplaced" and it is "premature" for it to pass any order.

It said that at present the survey has not been done and it will take years for the purpose.

Sun TV brings in Tamil the world famous game show from Dutch producer Endemol called dealaa no deal Saturday and Sunday from October 31st.[ 8.30 pm]

The central game of Deal or No Deal involves a contestant , a banker (unseen in some versions of the show), and a host/presenter who acts as Master of ceremonies for the game. The game revolves around the opening of a set of numbered briefcases, each of which contains a different prize (cash or otherwise). The contents of all of the cases are known at the start of the game, but the specific location of any prize is unknown. The value of each of the cases is indicated by a label or card sealed within it.

The contestant claims (or is assigned) a case to begin the game. The case's value is not revealed until the conclusion of the game.

The contestant then begins choosing cases to be removed from play. The amount inside each choice is immediately revealed; by process of elimination, the amount revealed cannot be inside the player's chosen case. Throughout the game, after a predetermined number of cases have been opened, the banker offers the contestant an amount of money and/or prizes to quit the game, the offer based roughly on the amounts remaining in play and the contestant's demeanor. The player then answers the titular question, choosing:

"Deal", accepting the offer presented and ending the game, or
"No Deal", rejecting the offer and continuing the game.

Flowery and emotional words, sent in a traditional cover is news more often in this part of the world, especially when the state is losing. Locally we fall for it and the recipient of the letter, probably never opens the cover or LOL and dumps. If someone cares to find out the effectiveness of this ancient communication in modern times by correlating the number of letters to the action taken, the graph may have never started.

Probably it is an exercise to give the classical language some space, but again may be the letter is in a foreign English. Anyway by now everyone knows that the 'Classical' is a classic joke, but that is another matter.

A Dinamalar editor is recently arrested for displaying photo's of actresses and tarnishing their image!. Probably the Government here is learning from Rajapakse how to control the media. Probably the actresses are taller than the Gods for when they are tarnished, even Baba keeps mum.

We have a wordsmith at the helm, who is a founder of a couple of dailies and is a renowned orator and journalist first, politician next. if he writes letters, even if they are ineffective it is because of a habit. He is yet to come out of the Anna era. But then what is this new habit of arresting fellow word spreaders just because his other family is hurt?

Competition and fear of repression makes the others keep quiet and that encourages more such action. Habits are thus born.

When a Dinakaran editor was targeted for a similar case, Dinamalar freaked out. And now it is in the receiving end. But then what is a media or a film personality without a controversy? The whole affair helps to dilute the central Mullai snub. Thanks Buvaneshwari.

Will Polimer Tv flex it's muscle and if so when? In a crowded market, Polimer has started via satellite very recently. as a cable TV it was quite popular in fact next to Sun in areas of it's operation like Salem Erode and near by. Also it has the support of the cable Tv operators as they are part of the Company. But they have politically strong, vindictive giant Companies like Sun, Kalaignar, Jaya and Vijay to compete with. Also zee , makkal, mega, raj and vasant are also showing seriousness. And then you have the music and comedy channels to compete with. Will it be easy or will they remain in the fringes like raj and be contented?

They started a star talk program from day one with Prithivi as the host and within a few days Sethu took over who was for a day or two before Booskey took over as the host. He is doing well, as usual and the choice of the stars is also not bad. There is also a promotion going on for a serial 777, in which famous film directors will screen drama's lasting for 7 Days a week for 7 weeks at 7 PM. The music express song selection and swiftness is appealing. Watch this space.

Never before has this happened in Indian television history. Two rival channels are officially telecasting same film at the same time on the same day.

Subramanipuram a super duper hit is being screened by both Zee Tamizh and Sun TV from 6.00 PM today. The only difference is Zee Tamizh is almost celebrating it , by having a hour long welcome program where the film making is discussed with the Subramaniam stars. AND THEY ARE GOING TO COMPETE AGAINST THE ODI MATCH WITH AUSTRALIA.

I DO NOT ANYWAY UNDERSTAND WHY A TRAGEDY FILM SHOULD GET SO MUCH EYEBALLS ON AN AUSPICIOUS DAY. AND HOPE THE MATCH DOES NOT END IN A SIMILAR TRAGEDY. IF IT DOES NOT THEN THIS DOUBLE SHOW IS SURELY GOING TO BE ONE.

ZEE TAMIZH HAS BEEN ADVERTISING IT'S BUYING SUBRAMANIPURAM FOR THE PAST ONE YEAR. NOW HOW DID SUN ALSO GET A HAND ON IT? IS IT SOME AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TWO- SO WHAT CAN BE THE 'CONSIDERATION'? Is Vijay TV coming out with a scoop on September 28th? is Nayantara and Prabhudeva going to come together as a couple in a show in Vijay TV Already the war of words between the present and the future to be regarding Prabu Deva is out in open. may be a more dramatic encounter more fierce than the simbu- prithivi, uma is overdue.

In a mini survey there are interesting results. Vijay TV is a close second to sun Tv and Makkal Tv is also having a good share[ sol vilayatu]. Zee Tamizh mudhal kural is getting good reviews. Kalaignar viewer ship on Friday nights have increased after velli parisu. but Maan is on the slide. Two compere's of makkal TV are now in top ten. Vasant TV political interviews also getting good reviews.

Polimer is visible in chennai also. but where are the programs ask chennaities? The songs selection is very good, but how many watch isai aruvi and music's. pOLIMER FIGHTS IN WAY: mONOPOLY PRANKS

High drama marked the launch of Polimer satellite tv, a venture of Thamizhaga Cable TV Operators’ General Welfare Association here on Wednesday, after Sumangali Cable Vision (SCV) allegedly refusing to give signals for the channel.

However, the satellite TV went on air with the leading multiple service operators (MSO) -SCV- clearing the air by giving signals, following a gherao by the members of the association in front of Sun Television Office at Mandaveli.

P Shakilan, president of Thamizhaga Cable TV Operators’ General Welfare Association claimed that SCV had asked them to pay Rs 6 crore for letting the channel to be telecast through it. He said they rejected the demand, saying that cable TV operators were the key persons in promoting several Tamil channels, including Sun TV.

Later, an assurance was given that SCV would give signals for the channel on the day it was being officially launched, he added.

But, he pointed out, Polimer TV was blacked out in major cities, including Chennai. “Therefore, the members of the association decided to gherao the Sun TV office, urging the latter to air the channel,” he clarified.

Meanwhile, tension gripped Mandaiveli as thousands of cable TV operators thronged there, starting from five in the evening. A large posse of police was posted in the area to prevent any untoward incident. Finally, the agitation was called off after the newly launched channel was given access to the Chennai audience by SCV.

The official launch of the channel was at the Madras University Centenary Auditorium.

Polimer TV is the first satellite television channel in the country to be launched by cable TV operator.

Three major studies and a new NASA expedition are all pointing to a strong chance that the moon has surface water, a finding that could make a "tremendous difference" to further space exploration.

Nearly 40 years after scientists examined rocks and dismissed the moon as a dry body, the studies of Indian satellite CHANDRAYAAN data are saying otherwise.

Moon water would be a "huge" boost to space exploration, experts said

The frozen water is believed to exist in deep craters near the moon's poles, which are in permanent shadow that protects the water from evaporation.

Next month, NASA's Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite mission will take the hunt for water a step further.

It will use the same method as its Deep Impact probe, which smashed a projectile into comet Tempel 1 in July 2005, and analyzed the innards of a comet for the first time.

It's not enough moisture to foster homegrown life on the moon. But if processed in mass quantities, it might provide resources — drinking water and rocket fuel — for future moon-dwellers, scientists say. The water comes and goes during the lunar day.

It's not a lot of water. If you took a two-liter soda bottle of lunar dirt, there would probably be a medicine dropperful of water in it, said University of Maryland astronomer Jessica Sunshine, one of the scientists who discovered the water. Another way to think of it is if you want a drink of water, it would take a baseball diamond's worth of dirt, said team leader Carle Pieters of Brown University.

"It's sort of just sticking on the surface," Sunshine said. "We always think of the moon as dead and this is sort of a dynamic process that's going on."

Hydroxyl is one atom of hydrogen with one atom of oxygen, instead of two hydrogen atoms in water.

Because of the timing during the daylight when some of that wavelength disappears and some doesn't, it shows that both hydroxyl and water are present, Sunshine said.

Where did that water come from?

Pieters[ SCIENTIST] figures there are three possibilities: It came from comets or asteroids that crashed into the moon, those crashes freed up trapped water from below the surface, or the solar wind carries hydrogen atoms that binds with oxygen in the dirt. That final possibility is the one that Sunshine and Pieters both prefer.

If it is the solar wind, that also means that other places without atmosphere in our solar system, such as Mercury or asteroids, can also have bits of water, Sunshine said.

A new channel

Polimer TV starts from today. Well people in Salem and nearby must be puzzled by this news for it is their favorite for long. A channel by a cable operator visible only from his box for so long is going the satellite way. It will be telecast on behalf of the 37,000 cable TV operators and will now be a channel from the Thamizhaga Cable TV Operator’s General Welfare Association.

Polimer TV is based at Salem. Now, it is functioning as a cable TV channel, reaching households in about 10 districts, including Kanch eepuram, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri.

The new channel would offer three news bulletins everyday, besides the usual program mes. It is talking to SCV regarding presence in Chennai.

Last week I was bombarded by close relatives and friends and advised to reduce or discard the 'high acid' content of my words, fearing backlash. Not that my words were deviating from the truth prevailing. That shows the state of our pseudo democracy. The people who advised had all the good intentions and even I decided to fall silent for so long and also delete a few words which were proved right after I deleted.

It is also a time for retrospection. What purpose was i achieving by writing truth in acid, except creating a odd frown on the faces of the people who matter? The people are not going to change and nor will there be any alteration in the pace of development in this country. So why should I crib. Also Google adwords do not send cheques promptly. So with no Monetary or otherwise benefit forthcoming, why should I enlighten , by acid.

I also realized that the wise create freedom for themselves by being dum. Smartness is to flow with the tide even if it takes to Coovum. And if i am exceptional then something is wrong with me. I always had this doubt.

So if someone realizes suddenly that Tamil needs a congress and that too in Coimbatore where they were defeated in spite of a friendly EVM., I am not going to comment. I am not going to comment even on Mullai periyar where again like the famous fast, people are made to wishfully assume nothing is happening against them there and may be they will come to know only after the unveiling of the dam. I will not comment on any dynasties nor the open fiefdom style governance. It is not wise to be wise and hence I am going to act smart from now on wards.

Call it a coincidence or is it a modus operandi? - Nalini makes an emotional pitch after every 'high profile' private visit of the Gandhi's. That almost immediately links Lanka to the Gandhi's and may be waters down all the postures, interviews and goody goody statements of the Gandhi's and revokes the Ghastly dead bodies and etc of the lost brethren who are now more than orphans there.

Winning an election and having mass support are two different things in Tamilnadu. For the first all you need is hordes of currency, an ac Nielsen, chawals[ basmathi biriyani type or the one rupee a kilo types: Short term vs long term] and a chawla.

And for the latter again what you need is not advises, sermons, promises and balance sheets presentations- All you require is a make believe feeling that you enjoy a mass support and automatically this flock will follow. You should conduct a massive meeting chocking a city and bringing it to standstill for a day at least, only then you are recognized as a leader in this part of the world. And then you should show freebies in some form or the other. Here i think Rahul was clever. After cleaning the river beds in the state, emptying the cellular routes and saturating the NREGS , Sethu and the highway routes, the politicians in the state had to be shown a new avenue, just to 'engage' and inspire them to 'follow'. And presto the prince comes with a solution. Link rivers here like no where before and that is enough for follow ups from here. He comes with a 'thought' that linking rivers will not work nation wide but will work in the state- a state which literally gets water from the neighbors just enough to wet the lips of the beds, that too by persistent begging.

178 people died either by suicide or heart attack after and because of the demise of their favorite CM Rajesekera reddy, thus inadvertently making him a murderer by death. And the media stops short of glorifying them, thus giving space for repeat performance. Surely the EQ of these must be minus infinity. The politicians and the actors of our country love to increase these flock who are nothing but emotional nitwits, slaves to their masters. The Dravidians are the masters and guru's of this cult. MGR , scripted by kalaignar used emotions to bring DMK to power by playing loud his shot in the neck episode. From then on till today and may be for one more millennium it is soap opera in Tamilnadu. Self immolation, suicides , heart attacks, there is no dearth of these. The Andra had NTR and now they are making seem YSR is in that club.

These fools who do not die when their parents or brethren breath their last, died shamefully because of over emotions. Unless we call this spade a spade and that too together as loud as we can , this nonsense will continue.

People should understand that these politicians and actors are as mortal as we are and there is nothing exceptional about them. The doles and schemes their government announces and implements are all from our own public money and not from any one's fathers ghazana nor from any Italian godown. YSR, was a mass leader no doubt, but as corrupt, as hegemonic, dictatorial and controversial. Infact he takes with him a hoard of mysteries involving 'truth' , 'temples' and 'machines'. And his son is considered worst. nevertheless, the emotions are used to spin him to the seat. The son in a great moment for show, behaves as if he had rehearsed very well for the show . All to make it seem he is a composed man suitable for the throne. A district is going to named after YSR. Hope they do not hand it over to the family. It is said that already most of AP is in hands of YSR Family.

The biggest joke was TN and Pondicherry announced holiday to 'mourn' the death of YSR, much before AP announced it. The Young celebrated the holiday by watching movies and going to beaches. Some mourning it was.
The dravidian gurus have been very successful in making their population as emotional idiots fit to beg and make a living by pleading for more wine and dine during a vote and then sleeping to watch a ghastly gawdy movie / dance in the free TV.

They will be happy to hear that they have company in AP. The way UP and Maharastra and even karnataka is behaving sooner there will be more company.

I guess the recession hit US garment brands should think of exporting their kerchiefs to India.

And TV channels, by god they freaked out on this god sent opportunity. One channel used the commotion of a lady as it's signature tune for the day. I guess atleast 20% of the 178 stupids must have killed themselves because of these channels.

It is their party and their choice. Is it so simple? A man with less than 100 days experience may cling to the top chair in AP, and his only credential is being the sole son of the mass leader who was 'killed'. Otherwise a very controversial figure accused of many clandestine deals and possessing wealth much much beyond 'known' sources of income and also a power dealer, a defacto cm, media man, links with satyam etc etc.

Give a bottle of tears and you can rule this land- that is bharath.

YSR was dynamic and a great mass leader, no doubt. But surely there are a lots of skeletons in the cupboard- be it satyam, tirumala or elections or evm's or evangelism etc etc so who else but his son can safely' guard or destroy them before it comes to notice. no wonder the desperation is there.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YSR Reddy's helicopter, which was reported to be missing on its way from Karnool to Chitoor, landed safely at Kurnool. But there is no official confirmation on Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy's whereabouts.
There are several rumours circulating about the incident. Some say YSR has talked to KVP through satellite phone. But K.Rosaiah has denied any information about YSR where abouts.
However huge number of YSR's relatives from Kadapa are reaching Hyderabad and this adds panic to the incident. YSR's well wishers are approaching temples to pary for YSR's safe return.

The Minister for Social Welfare, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, informed the media persons that the Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy is safe. He said the helicopter carrying the Chief Minister made an emergency landing near Athakuru in Kurnool district. - ANDRA LEKHA

Was the action against Jaswant to save Sardar Patel's name or was it to save Vasende in Rajasthan? Looks like by killing two birds with as many stones in the same time, BJP has successfully killed itself in Rajasthan.

And Modi banning the book in Gujarat revealed that at least for him Jinnah was a mask for Patel and that is why he voted 'for' expulsion.

Jaswant may have been truthful, but he was not appropriate in more than one instance. Well with he being no more, may be BJP can wash away the Kandhakar shame, just like how Congress washed away the Ayodhya sin after Rao's demise.

Surely Jinnah must be smiling in his grave for he is relevant even today, at least in India.

Innovation is the future of democracy. Last time there was allegations that heavy polling in last hour was a suspect action. So this time by noon most polling is done, only one thing no one knows is how much was done before opening of poll. The following are some news about post poll and pre poll schemes which helped in swelling the voting percentage. Also it shows where we are heading and why we are like this.
1. In Thirupalaykudi, DMK distributed tokens to those who came for voting which was exchanged later for Chicken Biriyani Packets.
2. Even Police were given these tokens.
3. Congress believed in variety and choices. They supplied Tomoto Rice, chicken and egg biriyani.
4. In Kambam, as a pre poll activity, DMK distributed tokens to electorate, especially in Koodalur, the night before elections. After voting, by showing the ink mark in the near by dmk election office and surrendering the token, each were given Rs. 100/-
5. Four women with such coupons were handed over to police by a election officer in one of the booths.

It is actually also a pre result drama too. What does a commission do, which is rich and has many wonder machines? Simple, play with it. Dumb people will queue to buzz the dummy machine, which would have already decided who will be counted. There will be crackers and the sun will mock at the leaves, the hammer will be stuck, the lotus will dwindle, and the drum will count percentages.

A week later a mango will present the sun with a certificate that all is fine that ends well , the reds will shamelessly live under the sun and many more leaves may fall.

The hand will remain inside the pockets, counting you know what.

Well, what more do we deserve?
