Decided to 'officially' try out the ombré hair trend this weekend using this tutorial. I used L'Oreal Superior Preference Colour in #6BB Light Beige Brown for the top & left about 2 inches on the ends undyed. I probably should have gone for a darker shade to make the transition from dark to light more noticeable, but it blends really nicely in person. Maybe too nicely...

Forever 21 cut-out shoulder blouse + trouser shorts, Steve Madden Westii wedges

I have such a love/hate relationship with Forever 21. There are times when I browse their webshop & find myself having to narrow down the items in my cart, & many others when I think 'wtf is this shit' ༼≖ɷ≖༽ The latter usually happens more, but lately I have been finding a few diamonds in the rough, including this shirt & these shorts that look deceptively like a skirt.

I also have a new obsession with tying up my shirts & these Steve Madden wedges are fast becoming a contender for favourite wedges ever over the Mariels.

My latest beauty product for review from KKCenterhk is the BEAUTY ANGEL Turn-Up Long Mascara ❤ The packaging comes in 3 colours (pink, blue & green) but it is NOT coloured mascara.

The description on the website states~

Let's Say Goodbye to the Old Style Mascara. BEAUTY ANGEL Mascara is available in Washable Formula, removes easily with warm water. Build bold volume and long-lasting. Convenience, contact lens safe.

To be 1,000% completely honest... I was really skeptical of this mascara. The packaging is cute & fun, but it DOESN'T come in a box which made me kind of sketch about it to begin with, especially since KKCenterhk's website says it comes 'Brand New with Original Retail Packing Box' ༼☁ɷ☁༽ Also, the reference photos & video on the website left much to be desired. As you can see, the brush itself is really skinny & kind of cheesy so I really wasn't expecting a good result.

So you can imagine how pleased I was to be to proved WRONG! ༼ꉺ✪ꉺ༽ This mascara makes my lashes INCREDIBLY LONG & the skinny brush even got to those stubborn corner & lower lashes too. I only had minimal problems with clumping when applying, but I think that's normal with any kind of mascara & I was able to work them out by brushing them through. It stayed put for the entire day too, no flaking. I would say the formula is eerily similar to the Dejavu Fiberwig Mascara in that it really wraps your lashes to lengthen them & washes off in 'tubes' so you can tell that it adheres to your lashes.

Overall, I would give this mascara a 7 out of 10, which is a lot higher than I expected to give it honestly! The packaging is cute & the formula is really surprisingly decent~ the only factors that stop me from giving it an 8 or higher is the fact that it came without a box (I don't know, I just think that is sketchy when it comes to cosmetics because you can never really trust what is inside a product if you don't have at least a box with ingredients to go off of) & the price of 12.10$ seems a bit much when compared to the cheaper price of the LANDBIS Golden Wild Leopard Liquid Eyeliner I reviewed a few weeks ago which seems to be higher quality than this mascara.

On a positive note though~

I'm really excited to do this post featuring Korean brand Ameli cosmetics courtesy of the amazing Australian-based webshop Vanity Box! ʕ•̫͡•ʔ❤ʕ•̫͡•ʔ I first heard of Vanity Box through the gorgeous Cindy of Bad Barbie when she reviewed the Ameli Brow Bright mascara & I was instantly intrigued. Cutie Australian blogger chaigyaru has also reviewed several Vanity Box/Ameli cosmetics. So you can imagine how happy I was to receive such a variety of items in the package they sent me! Clockwise from top right~ Step Basic Eyeshadow in #061 Orange Skin, Contour Blush in #01B Brown, Plat Lips in #100 Nude Beige, & Brow Bright Mascara in Gold.

Just some close-ups of all the items. The packaging is so simple & cute! For today's makeup look, I used the Brow Bright mascara which is ASDFGHJKL@#$%&AMAZING, the Orange Skin eyeshadow & the Plat Lips lip colour. I skipped the Contour Blush only because I don't have proper contouring tools & I need to practise tons before I get up the nerve to posting a review on it, haha! ༼ꉺ౪ꉺ༽

So to show how freaking awesome the Brow Bright is, I thought I would show the difference in my brows with & without. The top photo shows my plain natural brow on the right & with Brow Bright on the left. The bottom photo is after I applied Brow Bright to both of my brows.

The transformation is literally AMAZING! Not only do my brows finally match my lighter hair colour, but they look so much fuller & nicer (♥´౪`♥) This product is definitely going into my everyday arsenal.

Full makeup shots ❤ The Orange Skin eyeshadow is pretty but REALLY light. I tried to use it as my main colour but ended up layering it under one of my beige Stila shadows. I think it makes a perfect base colour because it's so sheer, or you can use it for a über-natural makeup day. The Plat Lips lip colour is a really nice almost pinkish nude. I think it would complement a lot of different skin tones! My only complaint is that it goes on a bit thick, though I just used my finger to apply it so maybe it would be better using a lip brush?

Overall, I am SUPER-PLEASED with all the products Vanity Box sent for me to try & 1,000% recommend buying from them even if just for the Brow Bright mascara! ༼✷ɷ✷༽ Everything came so securely-packaged too & the lollipops were a sweet surprise~

I thought I would share some scans from the Ena Matsumoto mook I received this weekend ♥ I got my copy from CD Japan for much cheaper than if I would have if I had ordered from Amazon JP, using some bonus points they sent me for my birthday last year. It came with a free EMODA tee, which Ena is modeling in the second scan.

Like the title suggests, this mook is all about Ena & her 'private' life though it is also very much about EMODA & her role as producer. The photography is absolutely STUNNING & there are so many fall fashion ideas packed in here. There were quite a few sections I could have scanned, but since I only have a cheapo tiny Canon printer/scanner combo, I decided to just scan in the beauty section. I particularly liked how she shows exactly how to recreate the makeup look for her Neo Vintage concept, complete with MAC products ♥ Anyone who can tell me the name of that deep red lipstick gets my love forever, haha!

I also included a dl for the scans if anyone wants to save them. Apologising in advance for the shitty quality but it was my first time scanning ༼;´༎ຶ ۝ ༎ຶ༽ Also, I doubt anyone will really want to re-post these anywhere, but if you do please just link back to me! Ever since seeing Chanel's fall 2011 nail colours, specifically the glorious & unique Peridot, & being loathe to spend 30$+ on a bottle of nail polish, I've been obsessed with trying to find a similar colour. I recently started looking at Borghese polishes at Rite-Aid & found these gorgeous colours. I have also read really good things about the Borghese brand on numerous beauty blogs & decided to give them a try. Left to right going down the line~ Stellare Notte, Limoncello, Euro Green, & freebie Presto topcoat since my OPI one died on me not too long ago.

I bought Stellare Notte for when I attempt to try Nails by Asami's Space Nails tutorial, but Limoncello & Euro Green I got because they were the closest to resembling Chanel's Peridot in the bottle.

Here's how both colours look on my nails though. Regular flash photos, no filters~

Limoncello turned out to be too yellow, though it's actually a really gorgeous metallic-y, mustard-y shade that's perfect for this fall's colour palette. Euro Green however...

SUPER-IMPRESSED with how fast my lenses have been coming from mukuCHU lately~ ladies, if you want your lenses lightning quick, order from them! ʕʘ̅͜ʘ̅ʔ❤o͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡╮(｡❛ᴗ❛｡)╭o͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡͡ They also have the new AngelColor Bambi aka Tsubasa Masuwaka lenses finally in for only 24$!

The latest pair I received are from the EOS Big Crystal Series in Honey.

The first thing that intrigued me about these lenses was the colour~ it's called 'Honey' but it's actually more of an orange-y shade. From far away it can come across as brown, but I assure you these are NOT brown lenses!

Like all of my previous EOS lenses, these are super-comfortable & wearable all day long. They do also offer a nice enlargement, without the 'fake' added effect of the thick outer ring on most enlarging lenses. But what wins it for me with these again is the COLOUR! (♥´౪`♥)

please excuse my wonky lash, this pair has had it but I love them so much, had to wear them one last time! ༼ƪɷ∫༽

The photos really don't do these lenses justice. They remind me of tiger eyes ♥♡♥ They also come across as a natural-looking fake, if that makes any sense haha! I literally couldn't stop staring in the mirror at my eyes. I would give this particular pair of lenses a 10 out of 10, though I'm not sure what can be said of the other colours in this series judging from the pics on mukuCHU's website ༼ԾɷԾ༽ I would think it would be a good starter series for someone trying circle lenses for the first time.

eBay-ed Senso Wilma Boots, used leopard chiffon top + thrifted tap pants

Is it totally insane to wear leopard on leopard? Do I even care? ༼;´༎ຶ ۝ ༎ຶ༽

The truth is that these babies I scored for an AMAZING deal on eBay will pretty much go with everything in my wardrobe regardless. Expect to see them in heavy rotation for the rest of the summer & fall, & probably into winter if we don't get any crazy snow or ice storms this year.

Also first time wearing the tap shorts I picked up from Goodwill in June~ besides being ultra-tiny, I love how on trend the colour managed to be without my knowledge, haha. Will also be wearing these tons even as the weather cools down too.

Isn't my play on words in the title of today's post so clever? ༼✷ɷ✷༽ Points if you even get it, haha! Anyway, naturally I'm talking about the Jeffrey Campbell Mariel wedge, which is obviously a popular shoe style in gal fashion as Mitsu pointed out in her JC post a few months ago. The EMODA & Galstar versions have an interesting little cut-out in the back, but from the front they really are quite decent dupes for the Mariel. I really like how the Galstar ones have such an amazing array of colours too.

Still, there's nothing like the original~

Officially declaring this the sexiest, most sophisticated shoe I have ever owned (♥´౪`♥) When I noticed that NASTY GAL had the nude lace Mariel on sale for 96$, I jumped on the chance to get them. I usually wear a size 6 but the smallest they had was 6.5 so I got them anyway~ good thing too because these do run a half size small. Every girl needs a pair of these in her closet though~ seriously one of the most perfect wedges ever made.

Now I'm REALLY kicking myself for not picking up the ivory python ones when I saw them in NYC last month ༼;´༎ຶ ۝ ༎ຶ༽

Nouveaux Cheveux

Well the roots have grown in & the coming fall season made me want to change my hair colour AGAIN ༼;´༎ຶ ۝ ༎ຶ༽ So being obsessed with this gorgeous shade of ashy, caramel-y dark blonde/light brown as seen on Sayoko & Lie, I went & changed it up again...

It's maybe just 1 shade darker than last month's change to ash blonde, but I'm hoping this one won't lighten up as fast as the other one did! ༼ԾɷԾ༽ I might start using the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette line to keep it looking darker since the Go Blonder one seemed to work when I was full-out blonde at the beginning of the summer.

On a random note, I'm totally in love with this shirt dress from Swedish brand MONKI~ I felt very Rumi Neely in this outfit yesterday, hahaha ٩(*❛◡❛)۶

& now for more hair + stupid faces~

My very first pair of circle lenses was actually from this series, in grey. I liked them a lot, but because my makeup skills sucked ~~were nonexistent~~ I never got to enjoy the full beauty of these lenses. These are definitely striking lenses, from the thick outer ring meant to enlarge to the maximum level & the gorgeous deep violet colour.

EOS is by far my favourite lens brand because of the high level of comfort & ease of wear, & these are no different. Also, for violet lenses these have one of the prettiest, most striking shades that is noticeable in both natural & amplified light. They are also perfect for those who like a definite enlargement (♥´౪`♥) These get a 10 out of 10 for me! Hopefully PinkyParadise will decide to sell them.

Tattoo Chronicles Vol 1

Well here it is, my new best friend ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ"♪♪ This is the now sold out Tattoo Chronicles Palette - Volume 1 from Kat Von D. I received this amazing palette as a gift from my bestie who sends me love packages every now & then ♡ I'm not a huge fan of Kat Von D as a person, but there is no denying she makes fabulous makeup!

First off~ LOVELOVELOVE that the palette comes in a box shaped like a book! There is even a gold ribbon bookmark & some pages telling the story of the palette's creation. Second~ there are 12 eyeshadows & 3 primers to create 3 separate smoky eye looks, though I prefer to use them individually. At the top in the empty plastic case is where the false lashes came~ here is a pic of how they looked unopened. Yesterday's makeup look consisted of the Skin primer & the Peanut & Hollywood shadows with the lashes. The shadows themselves are all really pigmented with a nice smooth texture & stay put all day. I would have gotten this palette literally for the lashes alone though~ they are of amazingly high quality & such a perfect shape for gal makeup! ʕ•̫͡•ʔ❤ʕ•̫͡•ʔ

Underneath the main part of the palette is a 'secret compartment' that includes a double-sided rollerball tube of Kat's Saint & Sinner fragrances. I wore Sinner yesterday & am wearing Saint today, & I have to say I love both! Though Saint kind of wins it for me because it smells like sugary candy, haha ༼☁ɷ☁༽

Anyway, if you can manage to get your hands on this palette, I promise you won't be disappointed ♡ I definitely want to try some more Kat Von D products, though it's a shame she doesn't make lashes regularly! I'm going to be so sad when these die on me from constant overuse ༼;´༎ຶ ۝ ༎ຶ༽

Last year I was really big into twin coordinates aka being a copycat~ I even lucked out with this Saito Natsumi outfit last summer, TOTALLY UNINTENTIONALLY hahaha ༼;´༎ຶ ۝ ༎ຶ༽ I have to admit though that I do totally lack originality & sometimes I still like to get inspiration from other gals, one of those being Ena Matsumoto. Even if I don't particularly love everything she's been doing in her EMODA line, I still think she is one of the most gorgeous ladies out there with a super-polished personal style (♥´౪`♥)

I actually have been admiring both of those tops she is wearing in the above photos though, so I went to see if I could find a similar one & was in luck yesterday! So today I present my Ena twinnu look ༼✷ɷ✷༽

Can't forget about the makeup too~

I am 1,000% IN LOVE with Ena's eye makeup though, which is so fabulous MAC created a palette based on it just for her not too long ago (*´Д｀*)♥ I improvised with my new favourite palette (that included these asdfghjkl@#$%&amazing lashes!) which I'm going to write about tomorrow because I really have nothing more interesting to post about, haha!

I really like the fine-tip marker style applicator of this liner. I've been obsessed with wearing cat eyes lately, & this kind of applicator is the best & easiest to achieve that effect. I also like that it's just a simple pen style like the Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner & not attached to a little tube of product like the Maybelline Line Stiletto, which was the last liquid liner I tried.

As you can see, it really does draw a perfect & easy line with a really rich & pretty look ༼❁ɷ❁༽ This is by far my best cat eye look yet since I'm no makeup expert & one line always tends to come out crazier than the other, haha~ it's all thanks to this liner though! (♥´౪`♥) The claim that it dries quickly is also true too, so no need to worry about smearing if you happen to blink right after applying.

Needless to say, I am 100% IN LOVE with this liner ʕ•̫͡•ʔ❤ʕ•̫͡•ʔ I will go ahead & say that I give it a 10 out of 10. This is the first product I've tried where all of the key points are seriously true~ I wore this liner for 6+ hours yesterday, with no primer or extra makeup setting products, & it stayed perfectly in place. I will definitely purchase this product on my own when this one runs out ♡ Another awesome reason to get it is the price~ only 9.68$ for this liner where Dolly Wink's can run anywhere from 13$-16$!
