Hello everyone!

I decided that it is time for a change! And what is a bigger change than to color and cut your hair?

If you remember it, I went to the hairdresser quite a while ago.

This time I wanted a DRAMATIC change, a big one. And I wanted color!

Anyway to cut the long story short, I didn't get a dramatic haircut, but I did get some color. Green and pink. I must say that I adore the pink, but the green.. well I like it. I also have a bottle of it to use a home (stargazer if anyone wants to know).

They didn't bleach my hair, but instead they applied it over my natural hair color (that was somehow bleached by the sun, at least the tips were).

I LOVE the colorful outcome, but at the same time I realized I made myself unemployable with it.

Oh well, at least for this year is not like I have a real job or something.. like corporate job. D:

Oh and I went to Evilhair salon, because I saw their promo shots and I loved them. Finally a saloon that is well known for wild colors and that can make a plain looking girl like me, look ... well wild :D.

Mom diary: 9th months old

Hi dear readers,

I know I only covered the first month of being a new mom, but I figured that it is way easier for me to write about what is going on now, and later cover on what was going on months ago.

This is why I will keep you updated on the happening in the first year (or so), starting with this month. And later when I will remember bits and pieces of months that are missing, I will post about them too! So, yes! It will be a whole diary, just with the upside down posting fashion. :).

9 months old baby

So my baby just turned 9 months. What does this mean?

It means that he is eating solid food (well at least dense, that's it) for a while now and has acquired a decent eating habit. 3 meals per day (usually vegetables and fruits, mixed with water - made into a puree, sometimes with some grain, rarely with meat but that's because I don't eat much meat at all.. if any). So far he is a good eater, eats everything I give him. Haha, but then again like he has any choice :P. He loves to breastfeed almost as much as I do (it's free and it bonds us together). But one thing he also loves. Pieces of food. If the food isn't on a spoon (like soup), he wants to feed himself. This is why it is slowly time to let him feed himself (not just chunks of food, but with a spoon too!). Oh the joy, when everything will be covered in food. YIKES! I still remember when I let him play with food (it was a fruit puree with some baby cereal). It was such a mess. The wall, the floor, the baby - not to mention - everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was covered in food. Icky, sticky food. The one that when it dries it doesn't budge and stays there forever. Ahhh, they joy of parenting!

He made his first steps aged 7M old, and went on and conquered those tiny legs, that by the end of 9M mark he is walking like a big boy. Now more sitting down after two steps! *proud mommy*

Ahh, it also means that I must have my eyes on my back, practically watch him what is he doing all the time. RUN after him.. damn, with such a peace, I will be FIT in no time. And exhausted, that's it. I am getting a leash for babies, even if everyone around me will be watching me with disgust. :P

A piece of bread keeps him focused and calm. Kind of.

Now we can go strolling again, but since he walks he starts to get bored quite quickly (lets say 30min?), and wants to walk around. Usually a piece of bread or anything edible that he can hold (and hopefully won't make a mess), keeps him entratained and I can drink my coffee.

That shoe must go OFF!

Of course everything is for him still edible, well at least it must go through his mouth first, so he can taste it and decide if I can keep it. Or if he eats it. ._. Stones are especially delicious, big, small.. anything that mommy doesn't see. - If he doesn't spit it out, I take it. Not the extra big ones, but the ones that he could swallow. The joy.. of yes, being a parent.

Ohh, those are your keys? MMmm, so yoummy!

Sleep? FINALLY I get some. He sleeps through the night, maybe waking once to feed and then he is off to dreamland. I am the one that can't unlearn the damn weird sleeping pattern that motherhood brought me.

I can at least say that in the morning I am *somewhat* rested.

Fancy dressing, make up, nails?! Where did all the pretty go?!

It still exists, at least with the dressing (if he doesn't cover my current clothes in dirt, saliva or any other unexpected thing), make up is a must - when I have the time (5 min, mm.. okay good to go!), nails?! Sadly these are the ones I miss the most. I can't do my nails. I do have the time to DO them, but not for them to DRY! I was thinking about getting an UV lamp and some gel polish? I don't know... HM?

Fancy? GOD NO, but.. as he grows older, I find the time to dress/look better. LOL who am I lying too. Sometimes I get lazy. And I don't care.

My baby is a joy to be around, always laughing, smiling and running around (okay that part is exhausting). He can play with his toys alone for a while, but when anything (and I mean ANYTHING DAMNIT) goes wrong, I am the one that he comes running to. "Moommy, mooomy".. Okay, he doesn't say that, he says "Mam, mama" only when I am not around.. to me, he runs crying. Those big tears of his, running down his cheek, sobbing aloud. Oh what a difference can a hug make and if that doesn't work.. some nursing will do. And then he falls asleep calmly in my arms *melts*.

He understands a lot, but one word.. goes easily unnoticed by him..

If you are a parent, you probably guessed it right.. It is the magical world NO. =D

Being a parent is awesome.

Do I have time for myself? Maybe, it depends on the day. It can be 10min or 1h.

Can I do my nails? Not really..

But seeing him grow and being a part of that is the most wonderful thing I could witness.

The best part?

I have a baby that loves to cuddle.

And a dog that doesn't mind being crawled onto.

Red Spring prayer

.. because of everything that's happening around the world and because I am missing on spring (since it never came, just Summer).. I introduce you to the Red Spring Prayer look.

Simple, subtle but using bold colors. Watered out.

I used:

Makeup forever eyeshadow primer

Mon Ennui Tesla Coil (inner part of the eyelid)

Fyrinnae Sultry samhain

Essence eyeliner in black

Bourjois mascara (pink)

If you google the colors (especially the Fyrinnae one), you will realize what a bold red it is. Well It truly is, but I watered it out (blended), to make i more wearable. I also didn't apply much of it.

I must say I really like the (super wearable) results.

Comparison: Fyrinnae Glitterboi and Mon Ennui Oil Slick

Hi darlings,

I got a request for a comparison between Fyrinnae Glitterboi and Mon Ennui Oil Slick, so I delivered! It took me a while to take these pictures, but here they are now!

I must say that I used LOTS of Glitterboi eyeshadow in comparison to Oil Slick. But honestly that was to be expected.

Oil slick is a nice shimmery duochrome eyeshadow while Glitterboi is a glitter eyeshadow with black base.

Both are equally gorgeous! Oil Slick is just more wearable.

Contour&blush haul

Finally I'll have some face definition again!

I got myself a bronzer from Essence (lets hope it will work out for the contour I want). And my lovely and beloved Bourjois Rose de Jaspe blush. It is amazing, makes me look alive!

And a goodie - the new Make up factory eye base. I bloody need it, that's for sure!

Any experiences with this base?

Hello,

I got one pretty nail polish from Kiko for free! They had this action (IDK if it is still going on?) that when you liked their FB page and added your data in their application you got a coupon for a free nail polish of your choice.

I mean, yeah, free nail polish!

I picked up this beauty that I actually saw for the very first time. It has a lovely name too - Strawberry pink (once you google it up, since on the bottle it says just '360'). Like.. you know today I am wearing Kiko 360, pretty no?

LoL =)

Please don't mind my cuticles :(. I am super busy and I forget to take care of them ... Meh :/

But the nail polish is really pretty and all Summer-like.

Here I used a nail tattoo, which made everything look even cuter (from Fake tattoos).

Hi dears,

I have this super magic eyeshadow from Mon ennui that goes from the most beautiful blue to purple and in some light even green! This would be the eyeshadow equivalent of Unicorn puke :)

I applied Essence eyeshadow primer (colour arts) and over it Fyrinnae pixie epoxy.

I then tapped the eyeshadow onto my skin (not swiped!). I took the photos close to a natural day light source (window, hehe).

This eyeshadow is truly magical and it blends so well with other colors. I am in love <3 .="" p="">

I created a 'magic mix' eye of the day, using two Mon Ennui pigments and one from Fyrinnae. The look is simple enough that is also quite wearable.

I used:

Hi ladies!

For my birthday I went a little crazy with mineral make up purchases. I decided that from now on, most of my collection will be mineral eyeshadows. Crazy, right? But at least this way they will last quite a while ;).

I got my orders months later, since the shipping takes some mad long time. But nevertheless, the purchase is amazing!

Hello darlings,

I had really long nails, but since they were getting in the way of safety (baby handling) I cut them off. Now I have nubs again, and I do like it.

I went with a two-colored manicure, and if I am not mistaken this is my first time with such a mani!

I used Catrice Genious in a bottle

Essence The Hunter

Essence Very Berry glitter and some other berry polish (can't remember which one, since I can't find it now)

I feel like a fun person wearing this manicure. Haha, it may not be even correct. :P

But it does make me feel all fun and parties ;). At least my child has some impact on my manicures, hehe.

Again with the purple phase and I must say that I am currently combining purple with all known eyeshadows to man. White, black, green, yellow - you name it!

So far it looks quite decent with most colors, especially since this one is a blue/purple color.

Sorry for the weir angle of these pictures, I am trying to find some new ones so my pictures would be well - better :)

Pink vs Purple

Hello dears!

I really like purple and pink eyeshadows and since I got two new ones from Kiko I am using them almost all the time with the combination of some essence (cream) ones instead as a base.

A really simple look that took me less than 6 miutes, but it still turned out to be pretty, don't you think?

Essence STAYS no matter what eyeliner mini review

Essence came up with something new - Stays no matter what eyeliner.

I am not really sure if the formula is something new or it is just the old eyeliner in a new design?

I am sorry for the pictures - they were taken with a video camera and thus are not the best.

The tip is made of felt just like your regular marker. And oh boy, that tip really makes the application idiot-proof! Because of it I find it such a pleasure to do my eyeliner. Don't get me wrong, the brush + gel liner is good, but it doesn't take me 1 minute like this one does.

Here is the thickness you can archive with the tip. From super thick to extra thin. Perfect!

I washed it off right after I applied it. And this is the result of that. Didn't get completely off, there was still a trace of it.. But..

Little did I know that this would be the exact same result left on my eyelid (no surprise, no?).

I wore my eyeliner for days (and removing it in the night), but the third or fourth day something happened!

IT DIDN'T GO OFF! Stays no matter what, indeed it is!

I tried regular remover, oil, cream, you name it! But the thing just didn't go off.

This is the result after vicious rubbing and cleansing. Didn't budge!

The next day there was a lighter mark, but only the third day it went off.

After all I love this eyeliner, but but but.. I am still not sure how to cope with this stain thing.. Really. It kind of throws me off.

Did you try it? Would you buy it if you had a chance to?

Hi,

Even if I have this nail polish for a while now, it is as good as new! The consistency is the same (pretty thin), and it still needs about 3 layers to get to full opacity. But let me tell you. It is worth is, it really is.

I wanted to bring some Summer in those rainy It's-almost-Spring-days, and I can say that with a neon manicure it does really almost feel like it is Summer!

The awkward pose thing ;D - almost broke my hand, haha

The little golden stud is from BornPrettyStore in case anyone wondered - and it does stay put! You just need a layer of clear polish or top coat, to seal it in.

Kiko haul 2nd part

Hi lovelies,

Last time I showed you my first part of the Kiko haul (tiny haul, yes?). But of course at that time I didn't know that it was just the first time. :D

Later I went back to the store (next week, that is) and got myself some basic items.
I needed a new black matte eyeshadow, since I am currently throwing away my old make up (bye bye naked palette!). And a black matte shadow is truly one basic item! Especially for more dramatic looks.

Then I needed a basic matte white eye pencil (I also wanted a nude one, but they didn't have it), and since there was a sale on eye pencils, I also got a gorgeously light blue matte pencil.

Did you notice I really like matte creamy stuff? :S

I already did some cool looks with them, but I forgot my camera. And trust me when I say that the videocamera takes bad pictures (the swatch pictures talks).

The next post will be an Essence mini review on their latest addition - Stay put eyeliner.

Fancy Furniture

I am currently into furniture as I am looking for some good pieces for my room. We have lots of things there, but not enough place to store them.

One of the stores that carries great bedroom pieces and is located in Essex is Roomes.

I really liked the Natalie bedroom, with its modern furniture.

Also one of the pretty ones is Grenoble bedroom.

Kiko haul

Hi,

As I was on the seaside (it's gorgeous here!) I went to Kiko as I grabbed some must have's, I got myself also some mineral pigments from them. I must say that I am really impressed with their quality!

I got:

A mixing medium for pigments as I want to try and use something else than just pain water

Two pigments (31 for the new collection - a gorgeous pink duochrome that goes to gold and 1 that is a purple color that shifts from warm purple to cold purple),

A purple mascara that is quite dry so I added some mixing solution to it, and now it is fine.

Pictures (I forgot to take my camera with me so I used a videocamera).

Stay tuned for swatches :). Hopefully they will turn decent, hehe.. :)

Peach Pink smokey eye

Sometimes I do my make up at night, or at least when outside it is already dark.

Most of the cases the make up I do comes out beautiful or at least nice looking.

But in the dark it is really hard to take good pictures :(.

That's why today I have a collage of not so good pictures.

New mom on the block! (me)

Okay I'll write this... it's about time! My memory is starting to fade and I really want to write this.. so I can remember later how it is.. :D

Okay lets see... Labour just passed and I was given my small tiny baby in the birth room. Do you guys remember when I said I was really tired?

So there he was, my little tiny baby. Beautiful yet so out of this world.. So innocent, so.. needy. Little, perfect!

There are no accurate words to describe how I felt when I held him. He looked so fragile.

I was alone in my room (no roommates, because I asked for a single room), so my dear slept with me for two nights. I thought I was going to stay in there for 4 days, but on Sunday I was ready to go. It came as a shock, but at the same time - a relief. I wanted to go out with my baby.

Because all I was doing in my room was: eating, checking if baby is breathing, nursing, pumping, sleeping, chatting on my phone (lol - FB and all that). I was still really scared of handling my baby. I was afraid I'd hurt him while changing or handling him. I didn't get a good night sleep, even if he was sleeping most of the time for the first two days. I was so afraid he's going to stop breathing. It freaked me out!

The first two nights he was sleeping in the 'common' room. I needed some sleep, and I wasn't sure what to do with him. The third night, so the last one, I wanted to have him by my side - because I saw how the common room looked like. All babies crying. Drove me nuts!! We didn't sleep because baby was crying most of the night and we had NO idea what is wrong. Now I guess he just wanted to be in my arms and not in that tiny little bed.

We went straight home and than to my home on the sea side. I wanted to have someone to help me with my newborn. And my mom said she'd do it plus my mother in law came there too.

So we were one big happy family for 14 days. ;)

The LO nursed for hours, I mean HOURS after we got out of the hospital. It took us more than 5 hours to get ready and pack to get to the seaside. Woah! I wasn't prepared for THIS!

I was really happy that I had someone to help me (my dear, my mom, mother in law, sisters, grandma), because I was exhausted. I was nursing almost all the time (it was incredibly hot up to 39 Celsius degrees and without the A/C!). Baby was thirsty most of the time or he wanted to cuddle. Nothing wrong with that.

But it drained me. During the day (when baby took a nap) I couldn't sleep because of the heat, later when he took a nap I couldn't sleep because of the mosquitoes (did I mention that I really dislike them?!).

In the night baby didn't want to sleep until 3AM and then he woke up at 5AM. Every single day. I think it was too hot for him too. That stabilized only after we got back home from the seaside to a colder climate. Then he finally began sleeping. Before it was really an achievement if he slept till 7AM.

The only way for me to get some sleep was cosleeping - and nursing him while I slept. It worked but it took me a couple of weeks to get to this concept :D. I was really afraid at first; that I'd roll over him, that he'd stop breathing, and so on. But once you sleep with your baby your sleep is really light so you can hear him even fart!

I got my first hour of sleep about two weeks after he was born. Everyone was really kind!

Did I notice the annoying lochia? The huge cotton pads were my friends! I went through 13 packages of those. It was nuts! I was showering a couple of times per day, because it was just flowing. But at least it didn't hurt. If I am not mistaken it took 6-7 week for the lochia to disappear. I am really happy that I didn't have any problem after birth.

Full breast were my companion during those nights and days. I wore a bra 24/7. I don't like wearing bras when I don't have to!

So .... the 2nd week I went on a walk. Actually if I remember correctly I took daily little walks - but it hurt too much and I had no strength to do longer ones. It hurt! An needling kind of pain, strong in the lower abdomen, that stops the moment you sit down. It's no wonder they tell women to do absolutely (or almost) nothing for the first 6 weeks - that is the minimal healing time.

I wanted to go out, to be free, to live again. Nope! I wasn't used being there 24/7 for someone, it was a hard check to reality for me. Whenever he cried I nursed him, or took him in my arms (actually in those first weeks/months he was rarely anywhere else than in someone's arms), changed him and so on. He is one cuddly little baby!

Oh one IMPORTANT lession we learned is - when baby sleeps, he sleeps. Don't wake him up. Don't wake him up even if you think he pooped himself. NOT important. If he sleeps, he sleeps. If you'll wake him up it will take literally hours before he falls asleep again.

OHh I absolutely forgot to mention tummy cramps. He had those. Colicky little baby. Honey went to Austria to get him those vitamin D drops and something fro the cramps. We tried them all. Nothing really helped, nothing! One thing only made it bearable - sweet drops that every pharmacy has. For such problems. They are sweet so the baby stops crying for a while and farts :D. It helped a bit, just a tiny bit...

Also a nurse came to visit us in the first two weeks of life. She helped with nursing, helped with bathing (when he was 20 days old), cleaning, explained some things and so on. When I was pregnant I thought that it's not necessary for anyone to do that. But let me tell you - it was a real help! As a new mom I was extremely worried. Everything worried me. EVERYTHING. I couldn't sleep because I was so worried, I was one of those cliche worry moms.

Ok I'll continue on in the 2nd month.. this is getting ridiculously long! I know that this post may have come to you as extremely confused.. But it's true! I don't remember much, except of him going on and off the breast. And me being tired, and him cuddling against me. Most of the time :). Oh and lots of lovely yummy food..

But we'll continue with that in the next months.. Sorry new moms - if you wanted to know how it's like being a mom the first month - confusing if you're not used to it.. lol :D

I miss the summer, yes! Me - the one that needs 3 months to finally be able to breath normally in the hot climate.

But I do miss warmer days, since those will be perfect for babywearing - now it's a bit harder because I need to dress baby in those fluffy things.

Tropical Fish

Hi everyone!

I saw one lovely tutorial and I finally realized that if I want more colours to show on my lids, I don't have to splat one right onto another, but next to *ding - the light bulb lights!*.

Hehe.. so to test the theory I did this make up using 5 eyeshadows.

And they all show :D.

Plus I did my eyebrows with the Noir eyeshadow from SleekMakeup.

Instaweek January 21th-27th

Hi!

I completely forgot that Sundays are reserved for instaweek series! <.<

But if not Sunday, then Monday, right?

Here it is!

1. I drew this cute little drawing for an art trade. I did the liner with black marker and colored with watercolor pencils + acrylic paint. Easy and simple.

2. Baby has one new trick! Standing up, holding to anything with just one hand :D

3. My birthday was last week. I got some lovely gifts <3 .="" p="">

4. One of the gifts are these tarot cards that I wanted.

5&6. While I was walking the same day, I noticed two Jumbo panos that I designed for two ladies.

7. I also got the water bottle that I really wanted (myequa in glass)! Thank you honey!

8. Cute hair accessory I got from a friend :D.

9. I decided it's time to decorate the room I live in. And well this is part of the decoration. It was fun, but took some time to draw all the little drawings.

10. Little compilation of baby minding his own business. :D He's so funny!

11. We got a new Ewan the sleep sheep since the last one brokw. WE missed him!

12. I got ebay mail! Nail beads for caviar manicure. They are really pretty, but come in little glass vials, and one of them broke in the way to me.

13&15. No sleep, coffee time! And I also tested a new application on my phone. Cymera. Makes really pretty pictues.

14. I tried the caviar manicure for the first time. DAMN it's not that easy as it seems! But I got one nice tip for the further tries.

Sea thunderstorm

Hi!

While baby is discovering the world surrounding him, I am here to post a make up look. Of course I forgot what exactly I used (if you're interested I can check out). It is mostly Fyrinnae + Neve cosmetics.

It's a simple blueish make up that works quite well on my eyes. Very wearable, even if it is very dark.

Would you wear it?
