My niece, Tambi Lee Howard took newborn photos of our

 Marlee Pearl when she was 5 days old.

Tambi is my sister's daughter. Remember Kathy?

We all gathered at Mika and David's for a day of heavenly picture taken' bliss....

Tambi surprised us with this slideshow of that day.

This past weekend One Fine Day had the privilege to decorate the wedding and reception for an awesome couple...BEAUTIFUL bride from Tyler, Texas.

The venue was at Lake Tyler Petroleum Club.  I snapped a few photos right before the wedding. I didn't get any photos of the bride and groom, or the 'wedding'. However, the photographer hired was 'David Hill'. When his photos of the wedding are on his website we'll be able to pop over and see them.

We decorated with that sweet 'vintage romantic' style...

Using old white shutters and a HUGE twig wreath for the fireplace mantel. We also decorated the mantel with a twig and honeysuckle garland with twinkle lights.  

 

...fresh cream rose petals.

This is where the ceremony took place, in front of the fireplace.

It was beautiful.

Family guest received this special gift. A fresh cream rose tucked in a bed if moss, looks so sweet in the tiny mercury glass crown votive.
A surprise gift for the little girls in the family were rosemary halos.
We dressed all the tables with cream cloths, burlap toppers and a vintage mirror.  Each table had a mercury glass compote pedestal bowl filled with roses, hydrangeas, and tulips all in creams and whites. Sprinkled around the compotes were small mercury glass candle votives, and mercury glass cups filled with moss and cream flowers. All flowers were created by~

 Wild Iris, Henderson, Texas.

Villa Montez from Tyler, Texas provided the wonderful catered meal.
We had little betta fish in all the glass vases...

....after the wedding the betta fish were gifts for the children at the wedding.

I can't help myself...

 I have to share another picture of Marlee Pearl.

Mika just received the CD of Marlee Pearl's newborn photos taken in the hospital. This is the photo Mika picked for the birth announcement.

It looks just like Marlee Pearl is saying~

HELLO...I'M HERE!!

David and Mika McMurray are celebrating the safe delivery of Marlee Pearl. Marlee Pearl was born at Mother Frances Hospital on December 30, 2011 at 4:56 AM.

She weighed six pounds and nine ounces and measured nineteen and one fourth inches upon her arrival. Her grandparents are Milton and Tina Smith of Henderson, Texas and Kerry and Pattie Dixon of Post, Texas.

We're so excited ....we can't stop looking at her!

It won't be long now....

starting the first of December, Mika will go to her doctor once a week until Marlee Pearl is here.


Due date.......

December 25th.

Best Christmas gift ever!

Mika wanted Marlee Pearl's room to be BRIGHT and HAPPY.

  Walls are painted aqua.

The Jenny Lend was Mika's crib 29 years ago. Milton painted it yellow to match the fabrics Mika picked for the bedding.

I gave Mika the red and white settee for the nursery....

Rebekah sewed large ball fringe to plain curtain panels.

Monica found the little table at an estate sale. Milton painted it red. The top wasn't so great, so we covered it w/ oilcloth.

 It smells good, like baby powder.

Rebekah made the bed skirt and all the pillows.

We've had this rocking chair in our family for years.

This old wire basket is tied w/ ribbon to the end of the crib. It's filled with good reading books.

Great vintage cabinet. David's Mom and Dad bought it for the nursery.

It's filled with Mika's childhood books, and fun collectibles.

The 3 vintage nursery rhyme pictures above the cabinet were given to Mika from Staci Bryan, Monica's daughter.

Our favorite artist~ Duda Daze painted this canvas for the nursery...

It's a gift from 'us'.... Lollie and Pop.

We sent scrap fabric from the bedding to Di. She used it for the dress. Di used little red ribbon pieces for her hair. The ric-rack is a little scrap piece too. Di also incorporated what Mika loves in the painting -an owl, butterfly, daisies, blue birds, & red mushrooms. Mika wanted her shoes to be red Chucks. We love the cute bunting Di.

.....sure hope Marlee Pearl's hair will be brown!!
