Good to see that South African directors are cutting it on a world stage.

The Japanese could turn toilet design into an art, so it’s unsurprising that they see the humble, ugly barcode as an opportunity for some fun.

The online gallery from Tokyo’s Design Barcode studio demonstrates the creative ways the barcode can go from basic to engaging with a few simple additions, revolutionizing the iconic information tag.

Makes you wonder why more packaging designers don’t exploit the surprise of the barcode.

Tickets for tomorrow night’s Peep Show are now all gone, but the good news for everyone else is that the legends from Zoopy are sending over a full TV broadcast team to record the show. We’ll obviously alert you to when that will be.

Time magazine have published their Top 50 inventions of 2009 – and the unsurprising thing is that almost all of them are ‘environment related’.

Green is clearly big business. Now just to get governments into the swing of things too.
