As you can see, it is served with a young coconut and the curry is stocked with prawns, mussels, calamari, bamboo shoots and all sorts of other greatness. And don't forget to scrape out the coconut meat from inside that cute lil guy; that may just be the best part. Great price for such a large portion and all the goodness that goes inside.

I've lived in Missoula for about 15 years. During those 15 years, I'd probably only eaten in Worden's about 5 times. I'm not really sure why it wasn't more. I think the main reason is that I always get panicked at places where you have to walk up to the counter and order. Especially if I've never been there. And then, what's the policy on bussing your table? Am I supposed to do it, or do they do it for me. So, it takes me about 7 times to get comfortable in Delis. It's unfortunate, but true. However, 2010 saw me in Worden's about 10 times, I'd say. And, I'll be going back time and time again for a few reasons.

The Worden's Staff rules! Super nice guys. It's like going into the bar at Cheers. Umm... only with food.

Meatloaf. 'Nuff said.

Mac and Cheese.

The Whoppa!

The Whoppa is what's featured in the picture above. Now, you should know that what we are holding in the picture is 1/2 of the smallest size of Whoppa that you can get. It's a giant fluffy bun filled with ham, genoa salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato onion and (most importantly) Whoppa Sauce!

You complete that action with some soup or mac and cheese and you are in 7th heaven.

These little beauties were eaten around 2AM in Seattle, Washington. It was near the end of the Volumen tour and we had just played with Summer Babes (and some other bands whom I have already forgotten). After the show we went to Jeff's house to decompress and drink. Then he informed us that the bar across the street was closing and we should check it out. The whole bar had a real strong Montana feel, which always cracks me up We drive across three states to go to a bar that is basically a knock-off of the Elbow Room or something. Anyway, the bartender was playing lots of Misfits for us, so we were stoked. Then I saw it. Near the "Hot Nuts" warming lights was a gigantic jar of pickled eggs. Now, keep in mind that I have never actually eaten a pickled egg before. But, I love both of those words so how could it not work? Everytime I see someone eat one in the Simpsons, it makes me want to try one.

Well, now I'm wishing I could turn back the clock. Apparently, pickled eggs taste like pickle water filled with egg dust. It was so insanely dry and dusty that I had a hard time convincing myself to keep it in my mouth (TWSS). But, my brother Big League Chewer took this rad picture so we had to post it to Chew Time. Also, it's been ages since I've posted anything so I just need to get motivated again. Enjoy.... but.... um... don't actually eat one of these.

P.S. This wasn't some sort of lighting trick. The eggs were really that color.

I know what you are thinking, "Fried Chicken, Waffle, Taco? Those words don't belong together". Let me tell ya, brother, you couldn't be more wrong. Let me introduce you to the Dutch Breakfast Taco, otherwise known as Pure Heaven. Colin Chew Chew got this particular Dutch Taco from the Flavor Spot in Portland, Oregon during the Volumen tour. I got the sausage version and I'll post a picture of that one soon. The waffles were right off the waffle iron and the whole operation was sauced generously with a combination of melted butter and syrup. Sure, it's not going to add years to your life, but will your wheatgrass juice truly make your soul completely satisfied? I don't think so, pal.

Food always tastes better when you are camping, but something tells me this would have tasted great anywhere.
