Salt Lake kicks off Employee Appreciation Week with breakfast

The Salt Lake City office kicked off Employee Appreciation Week with a breakfast bash! On Monday, May 21, the entire office headed over to the west parking garage to enjoy a gigantic breakfast that included pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, fruit and muffins.

Erin Barylski

Core value represented: Continuous Improvement

Description: "I have always felt that my art grows through me pushing myself to continue to explore and push myself physically -- both with my paint and my ideas of movement on a canvas."

Erin, who creates artwork using her whole body, has been featured on The Late Show and America's Got Talent. Most recently, her work was featured in a gallery during Art Basel, an international art show held in Miami, Fla. Learn more about her work at her website, Splits Art.

Core value represented: Putting People First

Description: "A quilt is a single blanket. One covering to keep a person warm. While one can share a quilt, all people using a quilt need to bundle together; it can't be ripped apart and be useful. A quilt is several pieces of material, all unique, all different, which come together to make a larger blanket. Remove one patch, and the quilt loses its look and functionality. Remove more patches, and the quilt falls apart.
CHG is like a quilt. We are one company, bound together in a unique culture and look that makes us an industry leader. By putting each other first, we ensure that we remain united and as one."

Description: "While traveling through India, I got hit with a severe case of food poisoning. Although I was sick as a dog, I didn't want to waste a single day. We drove to the beautiful city of Amer and hiked up to the ancient fortress at the top of the mountain.
I was in agony by the time we reached the fortress. As I stumbled into the courtyard, this boy greeted me with the kindest smile I've ever seen. He spoke to me in Hindi and I could tell he wanted to know if I was okay. I was touched by this boy's 'Putting People First' attitude and snapped a photo of him. It's now one of my all-time favorites."

Rose Woolstenhulme

Description: "This piece reflects CHG's core values of Growth, Quality and Integrity. Bees are the most important pollinating insects. They help the growth of nature and provide the quality honey for human consumption. They certainly have integrity in their labor."

My CHG Story: Brooke McCormick

Brooke McCormick, a recruiter at RN Network working remotely from Grand Rapids, Mich., has always loved playing sports, particularly team sports.

“I love the feeling of being a part of something, of being a part of a team and working toward a common goal,” Brooke says.

While her role at CHG has more to do with recruiting nurses than passing a ball, Brooke says that the team spirit she feels at CHG is as strong as that of any team she has ever played with.

“No matter what office you go to, the people there just give you a sense that you are part of a family, part of a unified team, just like you feel when you are on a sports team,” Brooke says. “It is wonderful to know that you can go to any office and still feel that same way.”

Brooke quickly fell in love with CHG’s culture and was terrified when she thought she might have to leave the company. Read all about it below!

The leaders at CHG have helped me improve myself by always being transparent and supportive. They hear out my goals and actually listen to where I want and need to go. Four months after I started working at the RN Network division in Boca Raton, Fla., my fiancé was offered a great job with Damon Worldwide. It was an incredible opportunity for him, but the position required him to move to Grand Rapids, Mich. He knew how much I loved my job and loved working at CHG, but it was too big of an opportunity to pass up.

One day, I spilled the beans to Christine Paggi, manager of provider services at RN Network. I was in tears because I was so afraid to leave the company. Christine said they didn’t want to lose me either, and that she would see what she could do. She met with a few leaders, and Sandra Raehl, division president of CompHealth allied staffing, made room for me in their office so I could work remotely there.

The leaders at CHG do their best to never deny anything and are always there to offer help and support. In turn, I try to listen to what my travelers have to say and to hear what they want and then try to make it happen. Instead of being the ‘no company,’ we see if we can make it happen. We see if we can do what they need.
