Hey! Qué tal? Esta semana estuve mucho más entretenida acompañando a Max con todo lo relativo a la primer semana de clases. Ahora que llegó el findex puedo dedicarle un ratito a mi pasión por el Diseño y la Arquitectura, que en esta nota sale al Patio.

La compañía Sueca Kenjo que manufactura y comercializa pequeñas cabinas prefabricadas, diseñó esta espectacular cabaña de exteriores retráctil. El techo es corredizo cubriendo la totalidad del área del deck y cuenta con un pequeño chill-out room cerrado. En 15 mts2 un espacio bárbaro con toda la calidez de la madera + la comodidad de la tecnología de vanguardia. Hasta el Lunes y que pasen un findex bárbaro al aire libre!

Hey! What’s up? This week I’ve been much more entertained accompanying Max with all the stuff related to his first week of school. Now that the weekend’s here, I can dedicate some time to my passion for Design and Architecture, which on this post goes to the Patio.

Swedish company Kenjo, that manufactures and markets small prefab cabins, designed this spectacular retractile outdoor cottage. It has a folding roof that covers the entire deck’s area and has a small closed chill-out room. In just 15 mts2 a cool space with all the warmth of wood + all the comfort of vanguard technology. Buenas. Qué tal? Ya había hecho un post sobre cómo retocar el Mail Submit Button, pero en comparación con lo que descubrí ayer, quedó obsoleto. Así que lo borré y hoy sí que se viene un TIP DELUXE para cambiarle la estética al Blog. Conocen Font Awesome? Es la fuente de íconos más popular en el Universo del Diseño Web. Vamos a instalarla en 1 solo paso y a partir de ahí… a redecorar widgets!

So… I deleted it and today comes a TIP DELUXE for changing your Blog’s Aesthetics. Do you know Font Awesome? It’s the most popular icons font in Web Design Universe. We’re going to install it in just 1 step and from there… let’s redecorate widgets!

C. AGREGA EL ICONO EN EL BOTON SUBMIT MAIL / ADD ICON TO MAIL SUBMIT BUTTON

Y ahora viene lo mejor! Van a clickar Jump to Widget y luego FollowByEmail1. Expandan el código y vayan directo a la línea que dice <input class='follow-by Email-Submit'………/>

Now comes the best part! You’re going to click Jump to Widget and then FollowByEmail1. Expand that code and go straight to the line that says <input class='follow-by Email-Submit'………/>

Vamos a reemplazar la input class por una button class que sí nos deja agregar íconos. Borren toda esa línea y en su lugar peguen este código:

Está en Linz, Austria, se llama Eisdieler Ice Cream Parlor y si los helados son como la decoración, ese lugar es el Paraíso! El proyecto estuvo a cargo del Estudio de Arquitectura y Diseño de March Gut y su propietario es Jürgen Bleij. Este muchacho Jürgen se lleva una A+ en buen gusto. Para mí, un cucurucho de Mousse de Chocolate y Dulce de Leche Granizado, por favor. Ah! Con baño de chiocolate. Gracias. Y para ustedes?

Morning. How are you? I’m here, experimenting with the template’s codes, as per bloody usual. Some minutes ago, during a Pinterest break, I spotted those pictures of the Poshest Ice Cream store in the world.

It’s in Linz, Austria, it’s called Eisdieler Ice Cream Parlor and if their flavors are like the decoration, that place is Paradise! March Gut’s Architecture and Design Studio was in charge of the project, which is owned by Jürgen Bleij. This lad Jürgen gets an A+ in Good Taste. DIY Web-Design Kamikaze: Going “Responsive”

Básicamente, esa es la idea del Diseño Responsivo. Que tu Blog o Website se vea bien en todo tipo de monitores. Todo muy lindo y fácil si sos Programador o Diseñador Web, pero cuando se trata de un DIY Web-Design Kamikaze como quien escribe…. agarrate y que Neo tenga piedad del desastre que vas a hacer tanteando códigos HTML. En eso ando, luego de instalar una plantilla nueva y en medio de una serie de “experimentos ninjas” con los formatos que mal que mal, van saliendo mas o menos aceptables. Cruzo los dedos y que todo termine bien! Juro que si descubro algún truco útil, lo comparto con ustedes!

Everything cute and easy if you’re a Programmer or a Web Designer, but when you’re a DIY Web-Design Kamikaze as the one who’s writing … brace yourselves and may Neo have mercy of the mess you’re gonna make while groping HTML codes. That’s what I’m up to, right now, after installing a new template and in the middle of a series of “ninja experiments”, that for better or worse, are coming along more or less acceptable. I cross my fingers and hope everything ends well! I swear that if I discover some useful trick, I’ll share it with you!

Les gusta cocinar? La verdad… a mi NO, para nada. La cocina no me llama en lo más mínimo y desde que hice un desastre en la mía, pintando la alacena y la bajo mesada con spray Krylon Cobre, hasta entrar me da cosa. Ahora estoy redecorándola y buscando inspiración por Pinterest me topé con esto:

Si! Algo así. Ordenado y bonito. Que minimice el fastidio de tener que cocinar, le de un toque alegre al ambiente y que sirva como consuelo visual para cuando quemás la cena accidentalmente o el fondo del bizcochuelo de chocolate se queda pegado al molde. Hablando del tema, acá está la solución. Pero en serio, no me gusta cocinar y creo que ni la cocina mejor decorada va a cambiar eso. De paso, vaya un pequeño tributo a Doña Petrona, Musa de la Gastronomía Argentina par excellence a la que le tengo un cariño especial porque mi Abu Geno era fan de todas sus recetas. Qué onda ustedes con la cocina?

Do you like cooking? Honestly… I don’t, at all. The kitchen doesn’t hook me up in the slightest and since I made a mess spray painting the hanging cupboard and the under cabinet in Krylon Cooper , even stepping in gives me the chills. Now I’m redecorating it and doing some Pinterest research I stumbled upon that picture. Yes! Something like that. Pretty and ordered, that minimizes the nuisance of having to cook, gives the ambience a cheerful touch and serves as visual comfort for when you accidentally burn dinner or the chocolate cake sticks to the pan. Talking about that, here’s the solution. But seriously, I really don’t like cooking and think that even the best decorated kitchen won’t change it. By the way, there goes a lil’ tribute to Doña Petrona, Argentine Gastronomy Muse par excellence, whom I’m specially fond of ‘cause my Granny Geno was fan of all her recipes. What about you and your kitchens?

There’s no doubt that Scandinavian Design defines parameters for emerging trends and reinterprets styles in a unique way. Example? The Neo-Baroque-Minimalist aesthetics of Swedish Stylist Marie Olsson Nylander.

Amazing! Both the eclectic mix of styles and the balance between pieces of important volume and the white silence of a depurated background. Loved it and I’m already thinking how to reproduce it at home.

Esta casa espectacular se encuentra en Melbourne, Australia. El estilo sobrio, geométrico y artísticamente curado de David Hicks se luce en todos los espacios. Una paleta de blancos y grises se transforma con las chispas de color de los elementos decorativos. Qué detalles me fascinaron por completo? Las orquídeas Fuxias, el adorno polifacètico de cerámica y el gran protagonista del living: ese fabuloso piano de cola negro! La ambientación de living es hiper seductora. Acaso no les encataría estar reclinadas en ese sofà Marsala escuchando a alguien especial dedicarles un Preludio de Chopin? Ese es uno de los fines del Diseño de Interiores al final de cuentas, ser el aliado estético de quienes lo habitan. Qué opinan?

This spectacular house is in Melbourne, Australia. David Hicks’ sober, geometrical and artistically curated style excels in every space. A palette of whites and grays becomes alive with the color sparks of the decorative elements. Which details fascinated me completely? The fuchsia orchids, the multifaceted ceramic ornament and the big star of the living room: that fabulous black grand piano! The living room’s atmosphere is hyper seductive. Wouldn’t you like to lay on that Marsala sofa while someone special dedicates a Chopin Prelude to you? Pantone Color of 2015 is Marsala, an aristocrat, sophisticated red-brown of powerful presence that imposes itself with grace and elegance.

Using Marsala in Interior Design implies a manorial proposal, with a certain reminiscence to the Grand Tour Style of the late XVIII century. In a balanced palette, contrasting colors highlight it, without taking the center stage away. Above you can see some ideas for decorating with Marsala. It gets along pretty well with pink, adding an imperial touch to a feminine bedroom.

La paleta de colores de Pantone para la Primavera 2015 es un mix ecléctico de tonos orgánicos y pasteles muy sutiles. Esta temporada, la tendencia en color apunta al lado más fresco y suave del espectro cromático.

Leatrice Eiseman, Directora Ejecutiva del Pantone Color Institute, nos introduce a una paleta con reseñas folklóricas, florales y cierto allure retro. “Hay un movimiento creciente a dar un paso al costado y crear zonas de tranquilidad donde nos desconectemos de la tecnología y nos demos tiempo para detenernos y estar quietos. Las elecciones de colores siguen el mismo tema minimalista ‘en plein air’, tomando el ejemplo de la naturaleza en vez de la reinvención mecánicamente manipulada”.

Estas son mis dos paletas favoritas con los colores de la temporada. Cuáles eligen ustedes?
