I apologize for the bad quality pictures! It is really hard to take good pictures with a broken tripod, while at the same time; your ride is honking and yelling through the phone for you to hurry up!

Anyway, I saw this dress online and fell in love with the draped details and the rope-style belt. It was on sale for $20.70 and I did not think twice before ordering it. When the dress came in, I showed it to my friend via Skype and he was convinced it was a sleep wear. He kept saying "are you really going to wear this sack like outfit out of your house". Anyhoo...yes, I wore the sack outfit to a 30th birthday party-lol. The dress has a weird Grecian silhouette that I kind of like. I was unsure of the style of shoes to wear, but at the end of the day, I opted for a black closed toe versus the gold open toes heels I was considering.

Color Therapy:Yellow Crush

It seems like every summer, I find myself crushing over a specific color. Last year it was cobalt blue and this summer, (if you can call the weather we have been getting summer) I am totally loving yellow. Anytime I am in a store, I find myself gravitating towards this color. I already have so many yellow pieces and I have to consciously stop myself from buying more. I also changed my bedroom color scheme, and my new duvet set and area rug have yellow accents. For now, it’s the color yellow,but who knows what color I will be digging next year!:-)

Chic Therapy is an online store that offers eclectic and fun African textile accessories. We incorporate traditional African fabric with others and create pieces that fit the contemporary lifestyle. It is a celebration of beauty and our vision is to fuse the vivaciousness and eccentricity of African prints into basic, ready to wear pieces.

Where do you see your businesses in 1 year? 2 years?

Right now, I am making plans to diversify and metamorphose into something bigger. In two years, I want to have broadened my demographics and brand and I want to be an established fashion house.

Hey Chicas! Howdy, It's been a while, hasn't it? I haven't posted much because I have not had a camera. I am getting a free upgrade from Bestbuy and the new camera gets in today. Whoop!!!!

So in this post, I mentioned that I cut my hair, and everyone I know has been going "why on earth did you cut your hair". Well, when I went natural 4 years ago I was excited and I took really great care of my hair. I was watching natural YouTube vloggers, trying different products, learning the natural hair lingo and all that good stuff. After a while, I got tired of tending to my hair and I lost interest. I know natural hair gurus recommend spritzing the hair with water and using natural oils daily.For me, the daily nurturing was way too tasking (In Sweet Brown's voice, "aint nobody got time fo dat") . In short, I neglected my hair and it resulted in breakage. Anyway, I cut my hair because it was unhealthy and I really wanted to start afresh. This time around, I am going to find products that work for me and stick to a regiment. *Rant about hair over!

So my blog clocked 3 years April 13th and I will be having a giveaway on Monday, April 29th..YAY! This giveaway will be different as I will be partnering with some small business owners. I recently came across the Spring/summer 2013 collection of Sindiso Khumalo,a South Afrcian textile designer based in London. Sindiso, who describes her aesthetic as “Afro Bauhaus gone Pop", was shortlisted for the Elle Magazine Rising Star Competition. Subtlety infusing her African heritage in the designs, the SS13 collection features geometric shapes and bold colors.Taking a minimal approach, this collection boasts of clean and refined pieces.This collection is so practical and I love the wearability of each piece.

Hullo chicas!Geez, I have not had an outfit post in over 14 days! Not my fault though, blame it on my non existent social life. In good news, I took out the awful braids I ranted about here. Like I said, It was a waste of my money and time! *hiss*. I now have a new hair do (which I actually did myself). I have never had a curly weave, so it's taking some getting used to.
Anyway, I attended a first birthday party this past Saturday. Since it was a kiddies party(plus I was helping with pictures), I opted for a very chilled outfit. My forever 21 mickey mouse tee, a pair of jeans and black heels (which I had on for two minutes) did the trick.

Boxed Wrong

Well, well, so I cut my hair to about 3 inches on Friday (no, I will not be sharing the picture-lol). With my short hair,I thought it'd be a perfect time to get the box braids I had been longing for. So on Saturday,I took a trip to a hair braider a coworker had recommended. I hadn't had braids in over 6 years, so I was pretty excited. However, my excitement died when I saw the hot mess on my head.Let's just say next time I am getting my hair done, I will ask to see a 100 page portfolio first.

The plan was to have the braids in for about a month but seeing as it is extremely horrible, I will be taking it out much sooner. Anyway, after a million and one styling attempts, I think I somehow managed to make the hair presentable.

This certainly was a waste of my time and money. Sigh!

Johnny Anastacio is one of the cast member on Kimora's new show, House of Fab. Johnny aka Drama King has a great sense of style and I couldn't help but be drawn to his playful style.
