Decisions & A Goodbye

I wasn't quite active with blogging and visiting. The idea has been in my mind for quite a while now. And now it's time to take decisions: I will close down this blog. Finally. Without a hidden door.

It's not just a matter of time. But after one and half year blogging about cats I feel it's time for something new. I also do feel like blogging in German. I have loved to express myself in English, day by day it has been my first language while still living in Egypt. And the cats really have sometimes been the only creatures I felt who understood me. This is still the fact. But now all these ideas I have, the stories I have in mind, the things I feel like blogging about, they are all becoming more and more German again. I guess it's a good fact cause it looks like I am finally arriving in Germany. At least somehow. Although I am still talking Arabic with the kitties ;-)

This decision has not been easy to take for me. Taking decisions is not really one of my strengths - I am a Libra, did you know?! But it's just the first of many decision I took and which I will have to act upon now.

This blog has been a big help, an escape, a hideaway. It started in Egypt and ends in Germany. Nobody knows where the story will continue. I am happy to have Chica and Pumuckl and I am happy to be able to take them on the journey. They enrich and brighten my day - every day. They remind me and let me never forget. Just as this blog.

You are such wonderful people. I am so happy I had the chance to meet you in the huge blogosphere. You have helped me through my toughest days and I would wish I could keep as many of you as I could and exchange emails and chit-chat from time to time.

I want to continue blogging. Day by day I am searching for the right domain name but till now I couldn't find the one and only I am absolutely happy with. I want to leave Blogger and have my own WP blog to play around with. But... It will be in German. And I am really sorry to lose most of my readers cause you won't be able to understand my blurbs. Nevertheless once I have found a domain I will publish the new address here, Google Translate might be a help though not be perfect.

I hope one day we will meet again - somewhere, somehow. If you feel like sending us an email, just do it, I will be glad for sure:

some people were asking where we are, we have been missed, today we've also got a friendly reminder to please update our blog cause it's been quite a while. well, we are sorry for the lack of posts. it's just that sometimes we feel to quit the blog, then we feel sad about it... mommy has so many things spinning her head right round, too many things to write down here. she misses blogging but doesn't feel comfortable to do that at the same time those days. so well, please stand with us. and if you miss us, maybe you'd leave us a comment?

While Mommy has other things to do (like playing with her new mobile phone which the postman just delivered today and listening to Halo on it) we enjoy the blanket a friend of Mommy left here... enjoy a good cat nap and some snuggles on it :-)

There is one song which, besides Cher of course, doesn't wanna get out of my mind recently. In first I didn't like it but by the time the music was kind of healing my mood. Or reflecting... something like that. I am watching it on YouTube in repeat mode (manually, as I couldn't find a button for this).

I am having quite a tough time right now, this song helps only a bit, but a bit is a bit. When there are rough times you need something to keep you going.

It's Beyone's "Halo". I actually never liked Beyonce, but this song is fantastic!

Mommy said she could now post a hundred pictures of cat naps.Cat naps in every corner of our home: Cat naps on the sofa, the cat bed, the shelves, windows, in the human bed... everywhere we cats were napping this week!

And why?

Cause Mommy was super busy with university for the whole week. She was studying and whenever she looked up from the books she saw a cat nap... or two :-)

And she did it again... left us alone. She said she's really sorry but April and May have so many days off and she is planning to spend 4 days somewhere in the sun this week (somewhere else than Germany or Egypt). But she said also she doesn't know for sure, so should we hope she has to stay home to see her back in Wednesday? ;-) ... Tststs those humans!

We are actually feeling a bit lonely. Mommy is out and about the whole day (and night) and all we can do is waiting for her. Luckily I could catch her now to switch on the PC for me to post some pics at least.

I mean I am happy for Mommy that she is out and enjoys her time. She said she is so motivated, also about her studies - and this although she doesn't have a clue about this mathematics stuff till now. But as a real cat I am a bit selfish as well and all I wanna do now is snuggling with Mommy!

Cat talking to the Weatherman

Dear Weatherman,

Thank you for sending us back the sunshine. It's amazing how it enters through our windows and warms my fur.

That's why I love to sit here by the window. I can watch the people down in the park, enjoy the sun and talk to you weatherman.

The last days you haven't been so kind with us. The only thing you kept for us was rain and wind. So thank you once again you've changed your mind.

PS: Actually we wanted to join today's Photo Hunt, but the theme "Memories" got our Mommy sad so we thought to send the weatherman a "Thank You" instead. Hope you don't mind.

Hey Furrends,

We are back home!

We had a fantastic week with granma and granpa. We got spoiled and petted and did very good. We just love our granma and granpa. (And I think they also love us cats a lot! :-) One night when granma returned from her dayhunting we played so so much. Granpa said it was about an hour. And we all had so much fun.

When Mommy arrived on Thursday we have been happy to see her again. Cause also with the good food and the love of grandma and granpa we have missed her lots. (And I think she missed us too! :-)

Mommy was very pleased with us. Cause one reason for our mini vacation at our grandparents' house was her being tired of us 2 cats fighting all the time. I think she exaggerated, but granma and granpa said she was right and we have been real nasty. But now we don't fight anymore. This got our grandparents happy. And Mommy as well. So we are also happy :-)

But now Mommy is a bit sicky again. She said she might have got a flu. That isn't nice and we have to take good care about her now.

Living without cats - Cat-free week Part 2

Well, the house is silent. Strange feeling.

No meow when I return from work. No cat nudging me to cuddle. No kitty asking for food.

Just silence.

Which isn't too bad to be honest. At least for 4 days.

When calling home yesterday I talked to Pumuckl and he snuggled with the telephone. Could he recognize my voice? Who knows. But it's nice to think he did.

I am enjoying the silence. But I am happy Thursday isn't far anymore.

Cat-free week

We have spent the weekend with granma and granpa again. Today I left the house... with a new bag, the old one is still there. I went home alone and left the cats with their grandparents. Granma and granpa returned inside the house without me and the cats are really confused now. Well, anyways I hope they enjoy their little vacation till I return back on Thursday for an extended weekend with the day off at 1st May ;-)

The tragedy about our favorite cat treat

Some of you might know we have an all time favorite cat treat: Felix Crisp. It's a German cat treat and already when we were still living in Egypt everybody who came to visit us had to bring quite a few packs of Felix Crisp along.

Felix Crisp. We could die for that treat. And also if we have quite a big choice of cat treats here in Germany now, Felix was simply the best. Mommy just had to shake the box and we were forgetting about anything.

Well, sometimes she has misused our passion and had us to do things we usually won't do that easily simply by shaking the Felix Crisp box. Whenever we didn't wanna sleep she shaked the box and we were behaving well just in order to grab some pieces of the yummy Felix.

Also Mommy taught us a lot with the help of Felix. For instance she taught us to follow to the bedroom with her in night as we were getting extra Felix just right before sleeping time. Mommy said it was fantastic and we became such good kitties with that treat.

But then the time came when Mommy couldn't find Felix Crisp in the stores anymore. She was wondering in first, then she became upset. We cats even more. Every time she came home with the groceries we were checking her bags... but no Felix Crisp with her!

Eventually Mommy sent an email to the company who is making all these delicious Felix Crisps. She has told them how much both of us cats miss Felix and has even given them our snail mail address, hoping to get some Crisps for free cause Mommy has bought so many boxes (and we have eaten so many...). Mommy was so keen on receiving the answer but the answer she got the other day was disappointing:

The demand has dropped so they have decided to stop the production of Felix Crisp.

BUM!

OMG!

Since the day Mommy told us there will never ever be Felix Crisp again we are distraught. Completely. Our beloved Felix Crisp... Unbelievable! How this can be? Mommy cannot believe we are the only kitties who are crazy about it!

What would our American furry friends do if they'd stop to produce Temptations (which till now we didn't find here) ???

Living the Cats' Life

Chica and Pumuckl are napping. Each one in one corner of the room. Pumuckl is right beside me and enjoys a deep sleep.

Cats can be so relaxing. You never think for one minute they care about what's going on. They care about being petted, having food, playing, but otherwise they just enjoy being alive.

Cats do just whatever they please. If they don't like to do this or that, they don't. They don't care if others like what they do, they just do. And enjoy.

Cats don't make up their mind with stressing things or bother with things they don't like. They see the bright side of life and enjoy every minute to the utmost.

Cats are not like dogs who you can train to listen and to obey. They have their own mind.

We humans can learn so much from cats. Life should be there to enjoy, you should make it easy and pleasant. It seems difficult to us humans sometimes, but just take a look at those napping cats, forget the others, forget the rest, and live, and enjoy!

We humans have so much to learn!
