Bernard Grasset, le célèbre éditeur français, nous dit du bonheur qu'il n'est pas attaché à la possession des biens, mais plutôt à la faculté d'en jouir. Le bonheur n'est qu'une aptitude.

Nous, chers consommateurs aveuglément contrôlés, sommes dans de beaux draps! Depuis le début des ères de la publicité, les compagnies nous échangent produits et services contre des promesses de bonheur pour lesquelles nous payons en argent comptant, crédit, débit, bref, selon la situation de chacun. Tout peut être arrangé, manigancé et présenté de manière à faciliter ces dépenses futiles auxquelles nous sommes tous devenus accros. Les compagnies d'une part créent ces besoins multiples pour satisfaire la soif de réussite de leurs entreprises coloniales. Nous sommes à leur merci. Que ce soit l'achat d'un shampoing, d'une voiture de l'année ou du tout nouveau Barbecue Q240 de Weber, le message est le même : la possession de ce nouveau bien matériel apportera un bonheur incontournable qui changera votre vie! La publicité, par l'entremise de ses divers médias, nous dicte ce dont nous avons besoin. Elle nous présente une image vague de nous, son public cible, en créant des liens qui font appels à nos états d'âme et le tour est joué! Chers moutons malléables que nous sommes, ne faisons que suivre ce troupeau docile qui semble se diriger vers un mirage de bonheur et de joie.

Bref, ce que je viens de réciter ne vous étonne guère, car nous le savions tous déjà. Notre manque de bravoure nous empêche de nous exclure de ce cercle vicieux. Je me suis demandé pourquoi acceptions-nous d'être contrôlés par tous ces objets, services et promesses? Si les compagnies utilisent le bonheur pour nous leurrer et que leur technique fonctionne, peu importe le produit, c'est qu'à quelque part nous sommes en quête de bonheur et non du produit présenté en guise de bonheur. Alors que faire? J'ai l'impression que nous le pourchassons si ardemment que nous finissons par le laisser filer entre nos doigts. Nous prions pour, le vénérons, l'acclamons, mais ne savons le reconnaître et encore moins l'apprécier lorsqu'il est parmi nous. Nous voulons tellement le posséder, le contrôler et nous l'accaparer, que nous finissons par le mépriser, l'ignorer et l'échanger contre des produits et services qui prétendent pouvoir nous procurer cette émotion qui ne peut être clonée; malgré les grands progrès de la science et de ses multiples technologies. Nous courons de grands risques, car nous nous lançons dans une poursuite interminable, à la recherche d’un bonheur irréel. Comme nous ne savons pas reconnaître ce que nous réclamons, nous devenons les proies. Nous poursuivons tout en étant pourchassés par ces « sociétés par actions » et leurs professionnels en marketing et en publicité qui nous tendent des pièges stratégiques. Nous sommes les appâts, les moutons, faisant faux pats vers la meute de loups qui s'apprêtent à prendre chaque sou que nous gagnons à la sueur de nos fronts. Notre incapacité à reconnaître le bonheur leur donne le pouvoir de nous dicter ce qu'il est et ce qu'il n'est pas.

Ah... Quelle ligne bien tracée, certains diront que c'est grâce à cette même ligne que notre économie fonctionne presque qu'à la perfection! La perfection... pour la meute de loups bien entendu! lol

I just had to post this on my blog! This is a speech to be remembered! Whenever the media tries to depict a political figure in a wrongful manner, we need to ask ourselves questions about their real motive! Seriously! If you grew up in a household where your parents watched TV without questioning what's behind the scripts, you will have to walk an extra mile! You can't just swallow and follow! This kind of speech is what we need in order to communicate effectively. Politicians like to use big words that disturb! They wanna hide the truth, gather up the troops and go to war. Then when they get cornered (if we can call it that), they beat around the Bush until the story dies...

When vital information needs to be transmitted to society, the sender needs to communicate a message that will be easily decoded by the receiver. I love how this man, minister Farrakhan, just drops the truth. Plain and simple, no hidden fees! lol. How can one disagree at this point? Politicians like to act as if things are complicated just so they can discourage the general public from questioning the information they force upon us. They also take advantage of the fact that we are too lazy to dig up the truth. We just wait for them to feed us, like some grown ass kids, too lazy to pick up our own knives and forks, we just wait for big brother to shove some fast food in our mouths. On that note, what you eatin' for dinner?

To think, I thought you had to have some type of political background to become president.
During the election period in certain countries, political parties, in association with the media,
go on a rampage to dig up any secrets a presidential candidate may have burried and forgotten in his backyard. The search for new president is a meticulous one. Although embedded in corruption most of the time, the elections give the people a choice of candidates that have been involved with the political, economical and social aspects of the country they wish to run.
I guess those rules don't apply to Haiti.

We've all heard the recent news: the ex fugees member, Wyclef Jean is running for president of Haiti. To make matters worse, one of his adversaries will be none other than the well known Mr Michel Martelly, aka Sweet Micky. This election will be quite a spectacle !

A lot of people seem to be happy about this news, I don't understand why...
Don't get me wrong, both are arguably talented artists. The question is do they have what it takes to run a country facing such a challenging reality?

I just find it absurd and arrogant of both of them to think they can just run for president, having absolutly no credibility as far as their political abilities are concerned. One doesn't just hop for the top with no experience and expect to bring about positive change. The most humble thing to do in my opinion, would be to enter the political world willing to learn before wanting
to rule.

As if the earthquake wasn't enough, we now have to prepare for yet another big-hot-mess!
