After going to the United States of America to study modeling, Rustom Padilla is now back in the country. But showbiz reporters who were waiting for his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport were shocked to see a “different” Rustom Padilla.

“I’m a woman so call me Bebe (pronounced as BB),” said Rustom Padilla on his interview with Startalk upon his arrival at NAIA.

He also said that Rustom is “a thing” of the past and he would appreciate if people would call him “Bebe” short for Binibini Gandanghari.

On March 2, 2006 he came out of the closet on the ABS-CBN TV show, Pinoy Big Brother by revealing to fellow housemate Keanna Reeves that he is gay.

Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson reunite on primetime television with their new televesion series, “Tayong Dalawa”. Jake Cuenca joins the lead cast of this new television series set to premiere on January 19, 2009 after I Love Betty La Fea.

The story of “Tayong Dalawa” revolves around two friends in the military (JR played by Gerald Anderson and David Garcia, Jr. played by Jake Cuenca), who turn out to be half-brothers, who will then fall in love with the same girl (Audrey played by Kim Chiu).

Aside from Kim, Gerald and Jake, the three is joined by award winning actor and actresses Alessandra de Rossi, Gina Pareño, Helen Gamboa, Cherry Pie Picache, Mylene Dizon, Agot Isidro, Anita Linda to name a few.

“Tayong Dalawa” is directed by Ruel S. Bayani, Trina Dayrit, and Malou Potestades.

Star Cinema’s Love Me Again (Land Down Under) is Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin’s first big-screen team-up after their TV show, Lobo. Directed by Rory Quintos, Love Me Again is a love story between Arah (Angel Locsin) and Migo (Piolo Pascual).

Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin are joined by Chanda Romero, Ricky Davao, Ronnie Lazaro, Dominic Ochoa, Dimples Romana, Erich Gonzales, Nash Aguas, John Manalo and AJ Dee to name a few.

Love Me Again was the very first all Filipino produced and made movie, starring local actors, to get a US premiere (December 2008) before its commercial run in the Philippines (January 2009).

Cutting Edge Productions’ Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia, the first ever animated film entry accepted to the Metro Manila Film Festival will fascinate moviegoers starting December 25, 2008 as Dayo opens in theater nationwide.

Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia is a movie about an 11-year-old boy named Bubuy who tries to save his beloved grandparents who have been abducted into Elementalia — a mysterious, mystical, and magical land house to the popular creatures from Philippine Mythology.

Characters from Cutting Edge Productions’ Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia would be brought to life by the voices of famous actor and actress from the local industry. The team of voice actors and actress include Nash Aguas, Katrina “Hopia” Legaspi, Nova Villa, Michael V., Pokwang, Peque Gallaga, Johnny Delgado, Laurice Guillen, Gabe Mercado and Pocholo Gonzales to name a few.

Internationally acclaimed singer Lea Salonga, sings Lipad, the official theme song of Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia. Jessie Lasaten also the executive producer of Dayo did the musical score and recorded with FILharmoniKA conducted by Gerard Salonga.

Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia is the 3rd Filipino-produced full-length animated film — first was FTL Films’ Ibong Adarna and second was APT Entertainment Inc.’s Urduja. Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia is set for release on December 25, 2008 and an official entry to the 34th Metro Manila Film Festival.

As posted on the Philippine Entertainment Portal and reported over Startalk, young actor Marky Cielo died at dawn of December 7, 2008. The cause of death has yet to be determined. He was 20 years old. However, a report said that Marky Cielo died on his sleep.

GMA 7 is yet to release an official statement regarding this matter.

Marky was a part of StarStruck Batch 3 where he won as the Ultimate Survivor. Aside from winning StarStruck he also appeared in various GMA TV shows. He was a mainstay of the Sunday musical variety show SOP and primetime television show, La Lola.

His remains now lies at St. Peter’s Chapel in Quezon City

Was able catch Eva Fonda last night. Got to say I’m no Christine Reyes fan but this is her shining moment. The character fits her well. But found it interesting that the probinsyana girls are no longer wearing manang shirts and skirts, but revealing outfits. WHOA!

The show is like a late 1980s - 1990s teleseryes with the poor being made api by the rich. Only this time, there’s sex, sex, and even more sex involved. Just enough drama, but too much sex. I can’t get over it, really. THERE’S TOO MUCH SEX.

Baron Geisler is once again stereotyped as a manyakis/rapist, which must not be adding much to his already tainted reputation. Hazel Mendoza does well as the not so innocent bestfriend. Joross Gamboa is blah. The show could do without him. By the way, didn’t Joross and Hazel play siblings in another teleserye??? That’s weird. Jason Abalos is also another blah. I see he’s developed some muscles. He fits the probinsyano role well, but adds nothing more to it.

Al Tantay’s character is creepy. Jean Saburit has definite potential to be the next teleserye villain we love to hate. More pa please. On the other hand, Mark Gil is underwhelmingly underutilized. Sayang ang talent.

For sexeh teleserye time, do watch Eva Fonda, right after Betty La Fea on ABS-CBN.

Cinema One Originals Digital Film Festival is set to kick off through a series of campus tours in Metro Manila from November 19 to 20, 2008. This year, Cinema One Originals Digital Film Festival features seven films such as Alon, Yanggaw, Imburnal, UPCAT, Dose, MotorCycle, and Kolorete.

“We have to explore a lot to gain the importance of digital films. There are a lot of audiences waiting to be tapped and campuses are just the many willing market of these breakthroughs,” said Ronald Arguelles, head of Creative Programs, Inc. and Cinema One in an interview conducted by ABS-CBNnews.com
