ASH KETCHUM

2016-02-26T11:13:00.001-08:00

ASH KETCHUM

Ash Ketchum, known as Satoshi in Japan, is a fictional character in the Pokémon franchise owned by Nintendo. He is the main protagonist of the Pokémon anime and manga series, as well as on various merchandise related to the franchise.
In Japanese, the character is voiced by Rica Matsumoto; in the English dub, he was voiced by Veronica Taylor from 1998 until 2006 and the eighth season of the anime series, replaced by Sarah Natochenny for the remainder of the anime and Kayzie Rogers in The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon television special. His name is derived from the Japanese name (as the letters 'ash' are included in 'Satoshi') and his English motto,

Gotta Catch 'Em All.

Ash's dream is to become a Pokémon Master. He is loosely based on Red, the player character from the Generation I games Pokémon Red, Green, Blue and Yellow, as well as the Generation III games Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen versions. The character's first official appearance in a game was in Pokémon Puzzle League.

CONCEPT AND CREATION:

Named after creator Satoshi Tajiri, Satoshi, whose name can be taken to mean "wisdom" or "reason", was designed by Ken Sugimori and Atsuko Nishida, and intended to represent how Tajiri was as a child, obsessed with collecting creatures. During localization of both for North American audiences, the character's name was changed in the anime to "Ash Ketchum", the first name taken from one of the possible default names players could select for the player character in Pokémon Red and Blue.

Tajiri noted in an interview that between Japanese and American reactions to the series, Japanese consumers focused on the character Pikachu, while Americans purchased more items featuring Ash and Pikachu, his Pokémon, together. He stated that he felt the character represented the concept of the franchise, the human aspect, and was a necessity. In both the games and anime, the character was given a rival, in the latter this rival was named Gary (named Shigeru in the Japanese version, after Tajiri's idol/mentor, Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto). In an interview Tajiri noted the contrast between the character's relationship in the games and anime; while in the games they were rivals, in the anime, Shigeru represented Satoshi's master. When asked if either Satoshi would equal or surpass Shigeru, Tajiri replied "No! Never!" Ash's character design was initially overseen by Sayuri Ichishi, replaced by Toshiya Yamada during the Diamond and Pearl storyline arc.

VOICE ACTING:

In Japan throughout the anime media, Rica Matsumoto has always provided the original Japanese voice of Ash. For the English dubbing, Veronica Taylor provided the voice of Ash in the first eight seasons of the English adaption of the Pokémon anime, which was dubbed by 4Kids Entertainment. After the script was translated from Japanese, the lines were adapted to fit the movements of the character's mouth (called lip flap). All the voices were recorded separately so Taylor was the only one in the booth when she recorded her lines, which took approximately six to eight hours per episode. Taylor was often the first person to record so she had to "imagine how the previous line will be said. "Luckily, I work with a great director who helps with the interpretation of the line, matching of the lip flap, and consistency of the voice." Taylor enjoyed playing Ash because of his "low, husky voice" and "energy and excitement".

Taylor commented that Ash and the other characters "loosened up" after the first ten episodes of the anime; she believed the writers were more relaxed and did no longer feel the pressure of making sure everything was done correctly. Taylor commented: "I enjoy playing [Ash] now much more than I did in the very beginning because I can have fun with him more, and we kind of know him and can work out how he really would react. We have the classic Ash responses and things like that." Sarah Natochenny replaced Taylor in season nine when The Pokémon Company International (known at that time as Pokémon USA) took over the licensing, prompting a shift in recording studios. Kayzie Rogers also filled in briefly for The 10th Anniversary Special in between Taylor and Natochenny (Natochenny would later re-record Rogers' dialog for the DVD release).

APPEARANCE:

IN THE ANIME:

ASH'S FIRST APPEARANCE.

The series starts with Ash's tenth birthday, by which according to Pokémon trainer registration bylaws allows him the privilege to become a full-fledged Pokémon trainer and obtain a starter Pokémon. As a ten-year-old hailing from Pallet Town, a town located in the Kanto region, Ash was offered a choice of choosing between three Pokémon as his starter: Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander. However, though he was originally planning to choose Squirtle, he receives the electric type Pokémon, Pikachu as his starter Pokémon instead from Professor Oak because he woke up late, and all the other starter Pokémon were taken by other trainers. After receiving Pikachu—his first Pokémon—and a Pokédex, Ash left Pallet Town to start his journey. Since his departure, Ash has traveled the World of Pokémon, competed in many challenges, and caught newer Pokémon. He has met many companions, including Misty and Brock. During his travels with Misty and Brock, Ash still had a lot to learn as a trainer. He caught his Pokémon by merely befriending them, knew absolutely nothing about battling, and many of his gym badges were given to him out of gratitude (of the first five gym badges, the only actual victory was over Lt. Surge). Yet, Ash honed his skill as a Pokémon trainer and was able to get all 8 badges, making him capable to compete in the Indigo League. Ash was able to go to the 5th round, and achieve the Top 16 — one round further than his competitive rival Gary, who finished in Top 32.

ASH BROCK AND MISTY.

After his defeat, Ash traveled to the Orange Islands with Misty and Tracey Sketchit, a Pokémon watcher, obtained all 4 badges, and competed in the Orange League to battle Drake, the Orange League Champion. Ash was able to win his battle against Drake, giving him his first League Championship as a Pokémon trainer.

ASH IN ORANGE ISLAND.

He then traveled on to the Johto region, with Brock and Misty. He won 8 badges and competed in the Johto Conference. Ash beat Gary again, in the 1st round of the conference, and was able to make it to the quarter-finals, and achieve Top 8. However he lost against his new rival Harrison, in the 2nd round. Ash then moved on and traveled through the Hoenn region, along with Brock and two new characters, May, an aspiring Pokémon coordinator, and her younger brother Max. He was able to get all 8 badges, and then competed in the Hoenn Conference. Ash was able to defeat his 1st new rival Morrison, in the 2nd round, also entering in the quarter-finals, and achieving Top 8 again. However he lost in the 3rd round against his 2nd new rival Tyson.

ASH AND HIS POKEMONS OF JOHTO REGION.

Having gone through several leagues and gotten a lot stronger, Ash decides to challenge the Kanto "Battle Frontier" and its 7 Brains (leaders). Ash defeats all of the Brains and acquires all the 7 Battle Frontier symbols, becoming a "Strong Battle Frontier champion" and qualifies for becoming a Frontier Brain himself. However Ash wanting to learn more about Pokémon and get even stronger, decides to continue his journey, not as a Frontier Brain, but as a trainer. However, having acquired all 7 symbols, he leaves with the privilege of becoming a Frontier Brain if and when he wants in the future.

ASH WITH HIS TEAM OF BATTLE FRONTIER.

He traveled with Dawn and Brock in Sinnoh, before parting ways with them in Twinleaf Town. Ash gets all 8 badges, and competes in the Sinnoh conference at the Lily of the Valley Island. He eventually faced his Sinnoh rival Paul in the quarter-finals of the Sinnoh League Festival and finally defeated him, also achieving Top 4, which is currently the farthest that Ash ever gotten in the Pokémon League. But he lost in the semi-finals to Tobias, a trainer with the legendary Pokémon Darkrai and Latios. Despite Ash losing to Tobias in the semi-finals, he was the only trainer to defeat Tobias' Darkrai, and he also became the only trainer to battle his second Pokémon, Latios, and beat it too, but at the "Point of Defeat" —as Tobias obtained all 8 gym badges and swept all of his opponents' Pokémon using just his Darkrai and in the end, he won the tournament by defeating his final opponent.

ASH WITH HIS TEAM OF SINNOH REGION.

Ash continues his journeys in the Unova region. Here, he travels with two new companions: a female trainer named Iris who replaces Dawn, and a new male trainer named Cilan, a gym leader who replaces Brock. Ash won all eight gym badges in Unova and then entered the Unova League. Ash was beaten by Cameron in the quarter-finals, and Virgil went on to win the Unova League as he beat Cameron in the semi-finals and Dino in the finals with team Eevee.

ASH IN UNOVA REGION WITH HIS TEAM.

Ash then ventured to the Kalos region to challenge the Kalos League. While there he began traveling with the siblings Clemont and Bonnie along with Serena—whom he had met during a summer camp in Pallet Town when he was much younger.

ASH IN KALOS WITH HIS TEAM.

Ash has considerably improved his abilities as a trainer over the course of the series. However, his earnestness and determination remain the same. During the first season of the series, Ash trained to catch more Pokémon than his childhood rival, Gary Oak, although Gary was always shown to be the stronger trainer. He soon began to focus more on each of his Pokémon's abilities. Ash's primary nemesis is a group of antagonists named Team Rocket. Ever since the second episode, "Pokémon Emergency!", two Team Rocket operatives named Jessie and James, along with a talking Meowth, have tried to steal his first Pokémon, Pikachu as well as many others, but have always failed. Despite their constant antagonism, they occasionally put their differences aside and work together against a common adversary, such as in Pokémon: The Movie 2000, where they aid Ash in retrieving the three treasures in order to save the world.

IN THE VIDEO GAMES:

The only video game Ash has truly appeared in to date is Pokémon Puzzle League, where he tries to become a Pokémon Master. This game was never produced in Japan.

In Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, and the remakes of Red and Blue, a character very similar to Ash (named Red) appears as a playable character as well as in cameos in Pokémon Black 2, White 2, Gold, Silver, and their remakes. The anime re-imagined Red as Ash Ketchum, the same way it re-imagined Red's rival Blue as Gary Oak and Ethan (the protagonist of the second generation Pokémon games as well as their remakes) as Jimmy. Although they are counterparts, they are not the same characters because they originate from different canons and thus developed from different experiences. Though Pokémon Yellow has certain plot aspects that were inspired by the anime series, the player character is still named Red rather than Ash.

PRINTED ADAPTATIONS:

The portrayals of Ash in the manga The Electric Tale of Pikachu, and Ash & Pikachu, are very similar to the one in the anime. There are key differences in the manga, though. The Electric Tale of Pikachu is based on Ash's journey up until the end of the Orange Islands travel. Ash is usually seen traveling by himself during the course of this manga although he is joined by Misty and Brock in Indigo sometimes. Misty is the only one to join Ash in the Orange Islands. The Ash & Pikachu manga is similar, although it has the episodes from the anime like "The Fortune Hunters" and "A Goldenrod Opportunity" combined, but with a couple of changes. Manga author Toshihiro Ono cited Ash as one of his favorite characters to draw for the series, stating, "I want to go on a trip with Misty just like him! (And forget about job, rent, etc.)". In Pokémon Adventures, Red depicts his appearance from what he wore in the games.

CRITICAL RECEPTION:

The book The Japanification of Children's Popular Culture cited Ash as an example of cultural identification, with the character going through similar motions players of the games had to in order to progress through them. It additionally emphasized the character's growth and development as the anime series progressed. UGO.com listed Ash fifteenth on their list of "The Coolest Helmets and Headgear in Video Games", stating "Love him or hate him, y’all know Ash Ketchum for his red and white cap". The Guinness Book of World Records 2011 Game Edition lists Ash as coming 37th out of 50 in a readers' poll of their favorite video game characters. Jian DeLeon of Complex magazine named him seventeenth on a list of "The 25 Most Stylish Anime Characters," and stated, "The first Ash outfit was hands down the best-and most memorable." However, he has been criticized by IGN for perpetuating floating timeline (i.e. not growing up), never succeeding, and for the ambiguity about his father, noting that the consistency could be seen having nothing as frustrating or comforting for fans.

ASH'S POKEMONS:

Ash with all his Pokémon as of The Dream Continues! (except for Squirtle and Primeape) at Professor Oak's lab

As a Trainer, Ash has caught and befriended a sizable number of Pokémon over the course of the anime. His philosophy on training is that Pokémon are individuals and that a combination of trust, friendship and hard work are needed to overcome adversity. In fact, several of Ash's Pokémon were caught because they allowed him to, after he befriended them. He seems to battle best with Pokémon that are similar to Pikachu: ones that are speedy and maneuverable, yet able to perform high-powered attacks; however, he is willing to work with any Pokémon that comes into his care.

Ash's battle style is generally spontaneous and fairly unorthodox, and his Pokémon often reflect these traits. He has been shown to use unusual strategies. For instance, during the Diamond & Pearl series, he incorporated a twisting-spinning type maneuver in his Pokémon's offensive and defensive techniques, which eventually lead to him creating the original technique, Counter Shield. Also, sometimes he would use someone else's battle strategies as shown with Paul and Tierno, though when using the latter, Ash stated that his own unique strategy is the one he can truly count on, instead of simply mimicking others.
Ash is very attached to his Pokémon, and prefers to fight and train with them personally. Furthermore, he cares for their opinion, even giving them the option of whether they should evolve or not. As such, the majority of his Pokémon also share Ash's stubborn and reckless nature, persistently attempting to rise and continue the battle, even after receiving great amount of damage and being at the end of their rope. However, if it is by their own wish, or if he believes it is best for them, Ash will (if sometimes reluctantly) trade or release them, and in some cases, leave them with experienced individuals so that they could get stronger.

Though Ash normally catches five or more Pokémon per region (not including when he traveled through the Orange Archipelago and challenged the Battle Frontier in his second tour of Kanto), he rarely ever switches the Pokémon in his current party with those in storage at Professor Oak's Laboratory. He usually only did so when he participated against powerful opponents (such as trainers in the Pokémon Leagues, and Battle Frontier Brains), or when attending certain events that requires a specific Pokémon (like Tauros at the Pokémon Swap Meet or Snorlax at the Sumo Conference). However, during the Best Wishes series, Ash actively cycled through the nine Pokémon he managed to catch in Unova, although these Pokémon, when not in his party, were instead kept in storage at Professor Juniper's lab in Nuvema Town. Near the end of his journey in Unova, Professor Juniper transferred all of Ash's Pokémon to Professor Oak's lab. Ash has not yet used this system of training in the following series.

Ash currently has ownership of 68 Pokémon, including all 30 of his Tauros. Including pre-evolutions, traded, released and given away Pokémon (and not including the additional Tauros), in total, Ash has currently officially owned a total of 79 different Pokémon species.

MICKY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE

2015-06-03T08:52:00.000-07:00

MICKY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE

Micky Mouse Clubhouse was made by Mike Himelstein and Michael Turner.

There were a total of 116 episodes of Micky Mouse Clubhouse.

Micky Mouse Clubhouse's first show was broadcasted on May 5, 2006.

Cartoons Wikipedia: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is an American animated television series that premiered in 2006 and continues to air in the present. The series, Disney Television Animation's first computer animated series, was aimed at preschoolers. Bobs Gannaway, the Disney veteran who created it, is also responsible for preschool shows such as Jake and the Never Land Pirates, and DisneyToon Studios films such as Secret of the Wings, The Pirate Fairy, and Planes: Fire & Rescue. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, and a mechanical assistant "Mouseketool" called Toodles, interact with the viewer to stimulate problem solving during each episode's story.

Mickey Mouse is an animated anthropomorphic mouse created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks in the year 1928. Mickey is, by far, The Walt Disney Company's most famous character and serves as the company's mascot. Mickey is easily recognized by his red shorts, white gloves and large yellow shoes as well as his round mouse ears. Mickey was the mascot for the show and scene in the opening theme song with him as the club's leader. Mickey was dressed in a marching band outfit.

Minnie Mouse (full name first revealed as Minerva Mouse ) is one of Walt Disney's cartoon characters, she is the girlfriend of Mickey Mouse. Minnie is sweet in nature and fun-loving. She is widely recognized by her pink or red polka-dot hair bow.Her favorite hobbies are cooking, dancing, gardening, shopping, music, fashion and spending time with Mickey. Minnie also has an alter-ego known as Detective Minnie famous for solving mysteries in the clubhouse. Detective Minnie often teams up with Daisy's alias Secret Spy Daisy to solve major issues.

Donald Duck (full name first revealed as Donald Fauntleroy Duck) is a character created by Walt Disney. He is a white anthropomorphic duck of light blue eyes with a yellow-orange bill, legs, and feet. He usually wears a sailor shirt, cap and a red or black bow tie, but no trousers at all. He is presented as a best friend of Mickey Mouse, who he sometimes envies. Donald Duck appears as a main character in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He joins in nearly every adventure Mickey and Friends set off on and helps the gang solve many puzzling problems. But sometimes he lose his temper so mix-up the problems. He is usually an unwitting target for many of the gags on the show and tends to say "Why does always this happen to me?" whenever something bad happens to him. A recurring gag in the series is Donald seeing a Mickey Mouse symbol and muttering to himself "Why is it always Mickey Mouse?". Another recurring gag appears in recent episodes where Donald and Goofy often bicker over childish things.

Goofy is one of the six main characters in the CGI preschool series. Goofy's trademark personality returns in the series. Several episodes revolve around Goofy with the first being "Goofy's Bird" where Goofy and Mickey travel to the forest to return Baby Red Bird whom Goofy adopted. Another recurring role is the role of Super Goof. In the episodes "Goofy's Super Wish" and "Super Goof's Super Puzzle", Goofy became his famous Super Goof alias to solve clubhouse problems. Goofy's romantic interest in the show is Clarabelle Cow just like Goofy's previous television incarnations. In the beginning of the series, Goofy only had a crush on Clarabelle which later on grew into a relationship. A running gag in the show includes Goofy and Donald getting into an argument over something rather childish.

Pete appears in numerous episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Disney's 3D-animated children's series. He maintains his antagonist role, but is significantly toned down for its preschool audience- he is less malicious and more mischievous. Viewers will find that Mickey and gang are very forgiving of Pete and his escapades. They even admit Pete is their friend several times in the show. He often appears as a seller of objects the gang needs and will give them an item in exchange for beans.

Daisy also stars in the CGI series starring Mickey Mouse. Daisy is one of the main characters. She is still girlfriend of Donald and obsessed with fashion as always. She joins Mickey on many adventures and tries to keep Donald's temper at bay. Many episodes revolve around Daisy. One of the most notable is "Secret Spy Daisy". In the episode Pete plots to steal Clarabelle's secret cookie recipe and Professor Ludwig Von Drake alerts Daisy of the situation. She becomes her spy alias and teams up with Mickey and Minnie to foil Pete.

Pluto reappears as a main character in the computer-animated series Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Pluto joins in nearly every adventure Mickey and Friends set off on and helps the gang solve many puzzling problems. While being apart of the main cast, Pluto's role is usually supporting often adding comic relief rather than advancing the episode's plot like other characters.

POKEMON: INDIGO LEAGUE

Pokemon Indigo League was created by Satoshi Tajiri.

Pokemon's first show was broadcasted on April 1, 1997.

There are a total of 80 episodes of Pokemon Indigo League.

Cartoons Wikipedia: Ash Ketchum is now 10 years old and is able to start on a new journey as a Pokémon trainer. The night before Ash has to go meet Prof. Oak he has a dream and breaks his alarm. The next day he oversleeps, which causes him to miss his chance at getting one of the three Kanto starter Pokémon: Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle. However, Professor Oak has one last Pokémon at his lab, a Pikachu. At first Pikachu does not get along with Ash, but in the first episode Ash saves Pikachu from a crew of evil Spearows and they become best friends, developing a special bond. On the way Ash meets Misty, the Cerulean City Gym Leader who loves water Pokémon and wants to join him until he pays her for her bike which was accidentally destroyed by Pikachu, and Brock, the Pewter City Gym Leader who wants to join Ash on his journey so he can become the greatest Pokémon breeder. Ash catches and makes friends with many Pokémon, which sets him up for a great adventure. However, through his journey he has to deal with the Team Rocket trio of Jessie, James, and Meowth, and his childhood rival, Gary Oak, Professor Oak's grandson, who also is a Pokémon Trainer, who got a Pokémon before Ash, and always seems two steps ahead of him. After obtaining all 8 Kanto Gym Badges needed to compete in the Pokémon League at Indigo Plateau, Ash is finally ready to compete in the renowned Pokémon League! Misty and Brock support him through everything he does. Misty hopes for money for the bike Pikachu wrecked.

Ash Ketchum is the main protagonist of the Pokémon anime series who has always dreamed of becoming a Pokémon Master. As soon as he turned ten years old, he rushed to Professor Oak's Laboratory to get his first Pokémon. He is the first character to be introduced in the series. Originally wanting to choose Squirtle, Ash ended up getting the Pokémon Pikachu, and left on his journey. At first, Pikachu did not obey Ash and kept running away, so Ash had to tie him up. After getting chased by a flock of Spearow, Ash attempted to save Pikachu from them; seeing Ash so determined to help him, Pikachu protected Ash from the Spearow by electrocuting the entire flock. From then on, Pikachu and Ash became best friends for life. As a completely unskilled trainer, Ash started his adventure while meeting his friends Misty and Brock and capturing new Pokémon.

Misty's first appearance was in the very first episode of the anime series, Pokémon - I Choose You! In this episode, she first meets Ash after fishing him out of the water when he was trying to get away from Spearow. Ash then takes Misty's bike from her in order to escape the Spearow, which is then wrecked by Pikachu's Thunder Shock. Misty then tracks down Ash and follows him around on his adventures until he can pay her back. She eventually forgets about the bike and becomes one of Ash's closest friends. She is currently the Cerulean City Gym Leader.

Brock wanted to be the greatest Pokémon Breeder (he is now following his destiny as a Pokémon Doctor), and gives up his title of Gym Leader after Ash won his first Kanto League Gym Badge from him. He was first seen taking care of his nine siblings.

Nurse Joy is the name of multiple nurses that work in Pokémon Centers throughout the various locations in the games and in the anime. A Nurse Joy can completely heal any Pokémon to perfect health. In the anime, the reason that Nurse Joys are all over the place is because they're all related. Not only that, Joy is their family name and not their actual first names. Although they all appear identical, Brock is able to tell them apart by little details. This is noted when he can tell the difference between the eyelash length of two different Nurse Joys.

“My cousins are all police officers, all of us look identical, plus we're all named Jenny." –Officer Jenny about her family. Officer Jenny is a police officer who lives in every city. They can be told apart by Brock. She uses Growlithe and Arcanine as police dogs to search thieves. Originally they had blue hair until Here's Looking At You Elekid when the animation changed to digital effects changing their hair green. The Japanese name, Junsar, means "police officer". The Jenny officers often accompanied by Growlithe, to use as a police dog (although there are exceptions, like one had a Spinarak or where another has a Meganium, Parasect and Tangela or one that has the Squirtle Squad, etc.). There are some other minor differences between each of them, but not many as the Joys. The only differences are the symbols in their caps and uniforms (which are different depending on your region).

Gary Oak is Professor Oak's grandson and Ash Ketchum's rival in the first season. His Starter Pokémon was a Squirtle that later evolved into a Blastoise. Gary has mahogany hair and black eyes. In the original series, Gary wore a long-sleeved purple shirt, a black necklace, dark blue pants and shoes. The day he started out on his Pokémon journey, he came off as an arrogant Trainer. His chosen starter Pokémon was Squirtle, which was actually the same Pokémon that Ash originally wanted to start with. He even had a group of cheerleaders who cheered him on in all his battles and would go so far as crying whenever he lost. Gary loved when he got a chance to make fun of Ash by bragging about how far behind Ash was compared to him. He also gave Ash the pet-name of "Ashy-boy", which occasionally seems to annoy him. His style of training at this point was to capture many Pokémon and to use the strongest, as a stark contrast to Ash, who focused on developing a bond with his Pokémon.

Ritchie is a friend of Ash Ketchum and one of his oldest rivals. He teamed up with Ash to get the Pokémon back which were stolen. He was then forced to battle Ash in the Indigo League and defeated him, as Ash's Charizard wouldn't obey him. He battled Assunta for the next round, but lost. He went to Ash to have few words about their loss and defeated Team Rocket, who wanted to take their Pikachu away.

Jessica is a member of Team Rocket. She tends to be a drama queen and has a diabolical temperment. She works with James and Meowth. Their main goal is to steal Pokémon, preferably Ash Ketchum's Pikachu. She and James have rivalry with Butch and Cassidy. Jessie was a poor girl with a cold past whose mother, Miyamoto, disappeared in an avalanche on an expedition with Team Rocket to capture the legendary Pokémon Mew. As a child, her foster mother (her real mother in the dub) cooked with a "base ingredient," the snow. So, Jessie enjoys eating snow. She would even go out of her way to get some and make some of her mother's old "recipes."

James is a member of Team Rocket, an evil team which tries to capture rare Pokémon. His trio has a keen eye on Ash's Pikachu. In the anime, he is a common member of Team Rocket and in many ways, is the anime representation of the Male Agent. During his adventures in trying to capture Pikachu, James is part of a unit made up of himself, Jessie, and Meowth. He is close friends with the two of them, and is known to make personal sacrifices in order to keep them safe, as seen when he sacrificed his bottle cap collection to help Meowth in the episode Meowth Rules!. Although born into a rich family with loving parents, he runs away from home to avoid Jessebelle to whom he was supposed to marry later on. With a very caring and thoughtful personality, James can sometimes have a hard time dealing with the "rotten things" he and his team mates do from various times to get what they want, but in the end he fulfill his obligations with less-admirable results. He also gives out information on Pokémon whenever Meowth cannot do it himself via Index cards. Out of the Team Rocket Trio, James is the most emotional and most caring towards others, as well as his Pokémon.

Ash's Pikachu is an electric-type Pokémon owned by Ash. He is the first Pokémon Ash ever had and is always by Ash's side. He is also a constant target for Team Rocket. They tried to capture him, but, on the few occasions that they do, their plans are thwarted by Ash and his friends. Pikachu was Ash's Starter Pokémon, given to him by Professor Oak. Ash showed up late to pick his first Pokémon so he got stuck with Pikachu. Though he didn't like Ash at first, Ash demonstrated willingness to sacrifice himself for Pikachu, and they quickly became friends. Pikachu, who is rather independent in general, believes that he is strong enough without evolving and refuses to evolve into a Raichu even when he was easily beaten by Lt. Surge's Raichu. Later in Ash's adventure in the Sinnoh region, Pikachu was given another chance to evolve after being seriously injured by another Raichu but once again he refused. Early in the series, Pikachu was given an operation to increase the strength of the electric sacs in his cheeks in order to beat the first Gym Leader, Brock. Despite this, Pikachu can also get a cold and go out of control when he cannot release his electricity. Most notably, exposure to a magnetic field will cause Pikachu to get a cold. Pikachu is one of Ash's most powerful Pokémon being able to defeat pseudo-legendary Pokémon such as Metagross and Dragonite and even actual legendary Pokémon such as Regice. He was also capable of fighting Tobias' powerful Latios to a draw, despite the fact that Electric-type moves are not very effective against Dragon-types. He also fought Norman's Vigoroth to a draw (during the rematch). Pikachu was used in many of Ash's Gym Battle Frontier and League battles. Pikachu is Ash's best friend. Pikachu has always been there for Ash and also takes a leader position for the team. He is curious and friendly, but shares Ash's fondness for battling. One of his most noticable features is his determination and unwillingness to give up when a situation gets tough.

POWER RANGER SPD

Power Ranger SPD was written by Bruce Kalish, Jackie Marchand and directed by Greg Aronowitz, Andrew Merrifield.

Power Ranger SPD's first episode was broadcasted on February 5, 2005.

There were a total of 38 episodes of Power Ranger SPD.

The story takes place in the year 2025, after Earth has welcomed alien beings to live peacefully with the human race. However, peace is short lived as the planet-conquering Troobian Empire turns its destructive attention to Earth. When the Earth's first line of defense, the S.P.D. A-Squad, vanishes without a trace, the protection of the planet falls to their replacements: the B-Squad Rangers, and their dog-like alien commander, Anubis "Doggie" Cruger. When two reformed thieves join the team as the Red and Yellow S.P.D. Rangers, tensions threaten to tear them apart. With the alien threat growing stronger every moment, the Rangers must put aside their differences and go into action as one. Using teamwork, intergalactic weaponry and light-speed Zord vehicles to battle evil, they unite to become one of the ultimate forces for good: Power Rangers Space Patrol Delta.

Jack Landors is the S.P.D. Red Ranger. A homeless street thief alongside his best friend Z, Jack volunteered to become the Red B-Squad Ranger in order to save Z's life as well as those of the other Rangers and took over as team leader, to the ire of Sky Tate. At first, he took his position as team leader very lightly, but has since proven he is a very capable leader. Jack doesn't know when he was born. Syd, however, offered to share her birthday with him. His assigned S.P.D. number is 1.

Schuyler Tate is the S.P.D. Blue Ranger who was originally a stickler for rules. Sky is top on B-Squad on weapons and fighting, and believes he should be the Red Ranger just like his father was. Unfortunately, his pride gets in the way and Commander Cruger picks him to be the Blue Ranger. With Jack leaving S.P.D., Sky has grown into a great leader and has learned to accept his teammates as equals. Cruger chooses him to step up as the new Red Ranger.

Bridge Carson is the S.P.D. Green Ranger. Bridge might appear slow at times, but he is a computer genius, a master mechanic, and much more. People underestimate Bridge, but he always manages to come through with his quick-thinking. His assigned S.P.D. number is 3; he is later promoted to 2 and eventually to 1.

Elizabeth "Z" Delgado is the S.P.D. Yellow Ranger. When Z was younger, she was considered an outcast at school due to her genetic power. She ran away and, upon being attacked by a vicious monster, she was saved by a disguised Anubis Cruger. It was there that she met her best friend Jack and began stealing. She eventually grew tired of that profession and wished to be part of something bigger, which led to her being drafted into the S.P.D. Her assigned S.P.D. number is 4.

Sydney "Syd" Drew is the S.P.D. Pink Ranger. Her parents worked at S.P.D. and were involved with the creation of the Delta Morphers, which altered Syd's DNA, giving her the ability to change her hand into any material she touches. Her life before S.P.D. is not clear. Multiple references during the show imply that she has many talents, including being an excellent fencer, pop star, and model.
Her assigned S.P.D. number is 5. She is also the first Pink Ranger.

Anubis Cruger is a member of the dog-like Sirian race from the planet Sirius, and was a member of the original Space Patrol Delta, training in the Academy alongside future criminal Icthior. He led the SPD forces against the Troobian Empire's invasion. On Earth, Anubis founded the S.P.D. Earth Academy. He sends the A-Squad Rangers to the Helix Nebula to fight at the front line against Grumm, not realising this was a trap by Gruumm to take out Earth's front line of defense.

Dr. Katherine "Kat" Manx is the technical expert for Earth's S.P.D. and a master of many sciences. She is a humanoid alien of an unknown world with feline features and, despite her youthful appearance, is 147 Earth years old. Kat serves as the chief technologist in S.P.D. and was responsible for the invention of all of Earth's S.P.D. technology. During all S.P.D. missions, she can be found in the Command Center running and providing scientific assistance to the Rangers.

Sam, the Omega Ranger was once a lonely and misunderstood orphan whose mother died in a tragic incident and whose genetic powers made him a constant target for bullies. His desperate search for friends led him to be manipulated by Mora and her newest creation Bugglesworth, who turned people into dolls for Mora to collect. In the year 2040, Sam was chosen by S.P.D. to become the Omega Ranger and charged with a special mission: travelling back through time to 2025 to stop the rogue Morgana from destroying the Rangers.

JOHNNY BRAVO

2014-04-03T06:20:00.000-07:00

JOHNNY BRAVO

Johnny Bravo was created by Van Partible.

Johnny Bravo's first show was broadcasted on July 7, 1997.

There were a total of 67 Episodes of Johnny Bravo.

The series stars a muscular beefcake man named Johnny Bravo who dons a pompadour hairstyle and an Elvis Presley like voice and has a forward, woman chasing personality. Plots typically revolve around him trying to get a woman that he has targeted throughout the episode to fall in love with him. He is often beaten up or stunned by his target or companions, or is ditched by them in the end. A television movie titled Johnny Bravo Goes to Bollywood was made and aired in India in 2009, and in August 2010 in the United Kingdom. A 70 minute movie with the same title aired in Australia on November 20, 2011. As of March 30, 2012, this series has returned to Cartoon Network in reruns on the revived block, Cartoon Planet.

The muscular main character of the series. He is intellectually challenged. A prominent feature of the show is his inability to attract women. However, he does have a soft side; in spite of that, he typically gets assaulted in some way or another by the women he approaches. The character is memorable for his incredibly quick movements. Johnny's catch phrases are "She wants me!" and "Wooaahh Mama!" and "Yeah Whatever" after women beat him up for refusing to leave them alone. He dresses in a skin tight black t-shirt and blue jeans. Three running gags are his trademark sunglasses, which he always wears, never revealing his eyes.

Johnny's mother. She has had a lively past and sometimes reveals a surprising hidden talent. The show's original format portrays her as a calm, nurturing woman, but was made into a louder, more extroverted character once the show was retooled. She's very dedicated to her son, but as a result of her awareness of his low intellect and womanizer attitude, does not always treat him and his problems seriously. Her husband is never seen or mentioned. Like Johnny, Bunny has her own trademark sunglasses which always cover her eyes. Bunny hopes that Johnny will find that special someone he's been looking for. Bunny is mostly referred in the show as "Momma" by Johnny, who pronounces it in an Elvis-esque manner.

A little red-haired, intelligent girl from the neighborhood, who is very cunning and talkative. In many episodes, Suzy is shown to have a major crush on Johnny. Her parents were never shown, but she is often shown to be related to big time celebrities. For example, it was revealed in an episode during her birthday that Farrah Fawcett is her cousin. She also has a crush on an 8-year-old country music singer Lonnie Dash. In the early series, Suzy was more of a cute-type character with a round head, while in the retooled series, she is thin-looking and more grown up. Suzy has many interests (such as selling lemonade and participating in the Buttercup Scouts) and has proven to be very successful in most of those interests.

A local nerd, also known as Carl Shocker, considered by many to be extremely annoying. He is Johnny's "best friend". He is a local genius and geek, who is very intelligent, but somewhat eccentric and timid. He was introduced after the show's retooling following the end of the first season, and seems to be Johnny's only friend, although Johnny often denies that. Carl sometimes uses Johnny for his experiments' sake. Carl really likes Johnny and he continues to hang out with him, even after all of the mean things that Johnny does to Carl and says about him.

The greedy owner of a local diner. He often gives tips and advice to Johnny; however, his advice often turns out to be useless, sometimes provoking trouble for Johnny. His diner's chili is made from rather suspicious ingredients and he serves food made from many animals, such as possums, pandas, cougars, seals, horses, and bald eagles.

A Japanese martial arts instructor. Johnny has taken, and failed, several of his martial arts classes and frequently ruins Hamma's life trying to learn his lessons. Like Carl and Pops, Master Hamma was introduced after the series was retooled. His rival is another martial arts instructor named Panteen Claw who has a daughter named Ting.

A little boy with incredible strength, who lived in the jungle with talking animals (similar to Tarzan). He shares a bitter rivalry with King Raymond. His appearances on the series were short-lived and he and the other animals were removed from the show after Season 1.

THE FLINSTONES

2014-03-30T02:22:00.000-07:00

THE FLINTSTONES

The Flintstones was produced by Hanna Barbera.

The Flintstones's first show was broadcast on September 30.

There were a total of 166 episodes.

The show is set in the Stone Age town of Bedrock. In this fantasy version of the past, dinosaurs, saber-toothed tigers, woolly mammoths, and other long-extinct animals co-exist with cavemen. Like their mid-20th century counterparts, these cavemen listen to records, live in split-level homes, and eat out at restaurants, yet their technology is made entirely from pre industrial materials and largely powered through the use of animals. For example, the cars are made out of stone, wood, and animal skins, and powered by the passengers' feet. The original pilot episode clip was called The Flagstones and was later reincorporated into the show's first episode. The show's name was changed to The Flintstones shortly thereafter.

Frederick "Fred" Flintstone, also known as Fred W. Flintstone or Frederick J. Flintstone, is the protagonist of the animated sitcom The Flintstones, which aired during prime-time on ABC during the original series' run from 1960 to 1966. Fred is the husband of Wilma Flintstone and father of Pebbles Flintstone. His best friends are his next door neighbors, Barney and Betty Rubble, who have an adopted son named Bamm-Bamm.

Wilma Flintstone is a fictional character in the television animated series The Flintstones. Wilma is the red-headed wife of caveman Fred Flintstone, daughter of Pearl Slaghoople, and mother of Pebbles Flintstone. Her best friends are her next door neighbors, Betty and Barney Rubble.

Pebbles Flintstone is a fictional character, the red-haired daughter of Fred and Wilma Flintstone who's born near the end of the third season. She's most famous in her infant form on the animated TV show The Flintstones, but has also appeared at various other ages, including as a teenager on the early 1970s spin-off The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show and as an adult in three made-for-television movies. She spent most of her time with Bamm-Bamm Rubble. Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm were best friends as kids, became boyfriend-and-girlfriend as teenagers, and eventually got married and had children of their own as adults.

Dino is a fictional character featured in the Hanna Barbera animated television series The Flintstones. He is a pet dinosaur of the series' main characters, Fred and Wilma Flintstone. Dino debuted in the opening credits of the pilot episode of The Flintstones, but is not mentioned by name until the first season's fourth episode, "No Help Wanted."

The Flintstones' pet saber-toothed cat, who is rarely seen in the actual series, but is always seen throwing Fred out of the house during the end credits, causing Fred to pound repeatedly on the front door and yell "Wilma!

The show is similar to Muppet Babies, with the main characters taken care of by Granny.

He is indicated to be the oldest of the babies, which validates him as the leader. His leadership however does tend to cause dispute, especially with Lola and Daffy.

She is second in the lead after Bugs but sometimes she takes charge. Her independence is greater than the others and she has more boyish tendencies than the other girls.

He is self-indulgent and always wants his personal gain. When problems arise, he believes it is himself who is treated unfairly, not noticing the inconvience inflicted on the others. Half the time, he does show and mean good intent.

She often sticks with Petunia. She is a highly ambitious and thoughtful sort with a good nature, but at times she can be a control freak and get on the others nerves.

She often sticks with Melissa. She is smarter than the other babies with insatiable curiosity.

As much as Taz is well behaved, he often mistakes various objects for food and sometimes breaks things with his spin. He has a sense of fun which exceeds all the others and he is prone to being a cry baby.

The youngest and the smallest of the gang. Depicted as the brainstormer, because he comes up with ideas when the others are fresh out of them. He is very sensitive about his small frame and curious about what he encounters.

At times he is shy and hesitant and he makes an easy target for Daffy to hoax and trade with. He is rarely seen using his claws. He likes to get attention from Granny more than the others.

She offers professional love and care for the babies to keep them happy. The babies are fascinated and touched by her wisdom and her ability to overcome problems when they arise.

Granny's nephew. Sometimes he is overwhelmed by the responsibility he takes on the babies but he is determined never to let Granny down.

DORAEMON

DORAEMON

Doraemon was written by Fujiko Fujio and published by Shogakukan.

Doraemon's first episode was broadcasted on April 1, 1973.

There were a total of 2112 episodes of Doraemon.

Doreamon is about a robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back in time from the 22nd century to aid a pre-teen boy called Nobita Nobi. Doraemon is sent back in time by a young boy named Sewashi Nobi to improve the circumstances of his great grandfather, Nobita, so that his descendants may enjoy a better future. In the original timeline, Nobita experienced nothing but misery and misfortune manifested in the form of poor grades and bullying throughout his life. This culminates in the burning down of a future business he sets up which leaves his family line beset with financial problems. In order to alter history and better the Nobi family's fortunes, Sewashi initially wanted to send a super-robot to protect Nobita, but with his meager allowance he could only afford an imperfectly-made factory-rejected toy: an anthropomorphic robot cat called Doraemon. Doraemon has a pocket from which he produces gadgets, medicines, and tools from the future. The pocket is called "fourth-dimensional pocket". Some of the gadgets are based on real Japanese household devices with fanciful twists, but most are completely science fiction. The number of gadgets has been approximated at 4,500. It is this constant variety which makes Doraemon popular both among children and among adults. The most famous ones include the "bamboo copter", a small head accessory that allows flight; the "Anywhere Door," a door that opens up to any place the user wishes; and the "Time Machine." Although he can hear perfectly well, Doraemon has no ears: his robotic ears were eaten by some robotic mice, giving him a series-long phobia of the creatures. The only main female character is Shizuka Minamoto, who serves as a friendly and romantic interest for Nobita. Shizuka is intelligent and is Nobita's best and closest friend, and loves him. Nobita's main enemies are Takeshi (nicknamed "Gian") and Suneo, who is cunning and arrogant. The other characters are Dekisugi, Nobita's parents, Gian's parents, Shizuka's parents, Suneo's parents and Nobita's Teacher. The stories are formulaic, usually focusing on the everyday struggles of the fifth grader Nobita, the protagonist of the story. In a typical chapter, Nobita comes home crying about a problem he faces in school. After hearing him out, Doraemon often advises him, but that's never enough for Nobita, who consistently looks for the "quick, easy" way out. Finally, after Nobita's pleading, Doraemon produces a futuristic gadget out of his pocket to help Nobita fix his problem, enact revenge, or flaunt to his friends, especially Shizuka. Unfortunately, when he has the gadget, Nobita usually gets into deeper trouble than before, despite Doraemon's best intentions and warnings. Sometimes Nobita's friends (usually Suneo or Gian) steal Doraemon's gadgets and end up misusing them. By the end of the story, the characters who do wrong are usually punished. Most of Doraemon episodes are comedies with lessons regarding values such as honesty, perseverance, courage, and respect. Various environmental issues are often visited including homeless animals, global warming etc.

Doraemon is the main protagonist of the series. He is a cat-like robot created by the Matsushiba robot company, and is sent back in time by Sewashi to aid Nobita. He possesses a fourth-dimensional pocket from which he can acquire various kinds of futuristic tools, gadgets, and playthings from a future department store. Doraemon is very friendly and intelligent, not to mention long-suffering because of Nobita's antics. In "The Doraemons", it is revealed that Doraemon's original paint colour was yellow. As he wept, the yellow colour washed off and his voice changed due to the potion he drank. As a result, he developed a morbid fear of mice because he was suffering musophobia. Doraemon's favourite food is "Dora Cakes".

Nobita is the main character of most stories. He is a fifth grader and is 10 years old. He wears glasses, a red or yellow polo shirt with a white collar, and blue or black shorts. Nobita is dumb, uncoordinated, dim-witted, weak, frail, childish, unlucky and bad at sports. Nobita's typical day consists of arriving late to school, scoring zero in his tests, getting scolded from his teacher, being teased by his classmates, falling in the curbside rain gutters, dogs running after him as he step his foot by mistake on the dog's tail ,getting scoldings by his mom as she receives complaints against Nobita for not completing his home-work , coming late to school or either his poor performance in his studies and sports and falling asleep during class. Nobita has often risked his life to protect other people.

Shizuka , usually called Shizuka Chan, is a smart, kind and pretty girl and Nobita's best friend. She takes baths several times a day. Nobita often disrupts her in her bath due to some misuse of Doraemon's gadgets, and Shizuka usually shouts out "Go away!" to Nobita. Her true passions are sweet potatoes, which she'd rather keep to herself out of the knowledge of others, and the violin, in which her playing is as atrocious as Gian's singing. She is also known for taking piano lessons unwillingly (as she loves violin more), which is sometimes a reason for declining to hang out with friends. Due to Doraemon's intervention, Shizuka will marry Nobita. At present, she doesn't have any crush on her close friends, but she fancies some handsome idols on TV.

Takeshi , usually known by the nickname "Gian", is a big, strong, and quick-tempered local bully. He also frequently steals other children's and books under the pretext of "borrowing" them, unless the toy is damaged. However, he does not hesitate to help Nobita and his friends when they are in real trouble, which often occurs in full length stories. He is known for his confidence in his horrible singing voice, though he considers himself a great singer. Several of the stories revolve around Nobita and his friends efforts to avoid Gian's concerts. Just like his singing, his hand made food can be a nightmare for other people very easily.

Suneo, is the fox-faced rich kid who loves to flaunt his material wealth before everyone. Some of the stories start with Suneo showing off some new video game or toy which evokes Nobita's envy. He is often seen with Gian. He sometimes despises Nobita and often makes fun of Nobita. He also often pushes Nobita aside with excuses while he invites Gian and Shizuka to his parties or resorts. He has an extensive knowledge of science, and is a talented artist and designer. In some scenes, Suneo is seen as a narcissist who loves to stare at himself in the mirror while telling himself that he is the most handsome guy in the world. He is still a bed-wetter, despite being in the fifth grade. He considers this humiliating habit his secret weakness. Suneo is also very self-conscious about his height, being the shortest kid in his class.

Dorami Chan, is the sister of Doraemon. She is yellow and has ears that resemble a large red bow. She happens to be about 2 years younger than Doraemon. Strangely enough, they are siblings due to the fact that they shared half of the oil from a can. She lives in the 22nd Century Tokyo with Sewashi. She sometimes visits Nobita with a time machine when Doraemon is "off-duty" or to help Doraemon with something. She likes melon pan and is afraid of cockroaches. She is also shown to be a more advanced robot than Doraemon (Dorami is able to produce 10,000 horse power in comparison to Doraemon's 129.3). Different from her malfunctioned brother, she's the smartest student during her school time, and has better skills in using gadgets.

Jaiko is Gian's younger sister, and also the only child Gian treats well in the whole story. In the early story she shows to have bad tempers, but lately she's getting kinder. According to Doraemon's Future Album, she would had been Nobita's wife in the future if Doraemon doesn't intervened, which is why her first appearance is earlier than Suneo and Gian. However, in the late Doraemon series it's Dekisugi more often referred to be the factor of the future though no evidence shows Dekisugi could marry Shizuka. She usually fails because her storytelling is still rough, although she has received much attention from editors. Sometimes when she almost decides to give up writing comic books, Gian's friends are forced to cheer her up.

Dekisugi is Nobita's classmate and friendly rival for Shizuka's affections. He always gets perfect scores on his tests, but never shows off his abilities. Owing to that Shizuka sometimes prefer the company of Dekisugi, who is more of her intellectual equal, Nobita often feels jealous and concocts bizarre schemes to keep them apart. However, Dekisugi never shows bad tempers to Nobita and even willingly helps Nobita whenever he has philosophical or scientific questions.

Mini Dora are actually gadgets of Doraemon. They are mini versions of Doraemon, each with a different color. They can think and feel for themselves, and communicate with Doraemon through the "Mini Dora" language. They act as helpers for all sorts of tasks, such as repairing the internal mechanism of Doraemon.

Nobita's teacher is a strict taskmaster who often scolds Nobita for not completing his homework, and often gets fooled by Suneo's convincing acts of lying. The punishments range from standing in the hallway to sweeping the classroom after-school. He often pays unexpected visits to the Nobi’s in order to inform Mrs. Tamako about Nobita’s recent perfections on exams. He usually sees Nobita on streets and cheer him on to study hard to get higher scores during exams. His real name is unknown and he is only referred to as "Sensei (Teacher)".

Tamako is Nobita's mother and the one Nobita inherits his appearance from. She can be very strict, is usually seen scolding Nobita. Many episodes involve Nobita trying to avoid his mother’s scolding by using Doraemon’s gadgets. Despite her dissapointment to Nobita's lazy attitude and academic failures, she is actually a good mother and cares about her son deeply. She stops Nobita from going out to play and force him to study.

Nobisuke is Nobita's father and salaryman. He is inconsiderate of Nobita, often seen arriving home from work. He has trouble quitting smoking and is self-conscious about his inability to pass the driving test. He also has a poor memory and sometimes arrives home drunk from nightly business meetings. He often goes for playing golf. He had many similar personalities with Nobita when he was young: got bad grades, got bullied and scolded by his father. He has a talent of art, but didn't choose to be an artist due to many reasons.

Nobita's great-great-grandson, he is the one who sends Doraemon back to the past to look after Nobita. Sewashi first bought Doraemon in 2112 when Doraemon still had ears and his original factory paint. He sent him because his pocket money was not much due to the debts the family inherited from Nobita. He shows to have more common sense and smarter than Nobita. Sewashi is also the owner of Doraemon's sister, Dorami.

A regular female cat from Nobita's timeline, who either hangs out or goes on dates with Doraemon. She to Doraemon is similar with Shizuka to Nobita, however, besides Noramyako, Doraemon still often has new crush on other girls in the whole series.

CRAYON SHIN CHAN

CRAYON SHIN CHAN

Shin Chan was created by Mitsuru Hongo, Keiichi Hara and Yuji Muto.

Shin Chan's first show was broadcasted on April 13, 1992.

There were a total of 818 episodes of Shin Chan.

Crayon Shin Chan first appeared in a Japanese weekly magazine called Weekly Manga Action, which is published by Futabasha. The anime Crayon Shin Chan has been on TV Asahi since April 13, 1992, and on several television networks, worldwide. Many of the jokes in the series stem from Shin Chan's occasionally weird, unnatural and inappropriate use of language, as well as from his mischievous behaviour. A typical gag used by Shin Chan is confusing his parents by using the wrong phrase for the occasion. For instance, saying "Welcome back " instead of a using a more suitable wording such as "I am home" when he comes home. Shin Chan regularly becomes besotted with pretty female characters who are much older than him, and an additional source of humor is derived from his childlike attempts at wooing these characters, such as by asking them "Do you like green peppers?". He continually displays a lack of tact when talking to adults, asking questions such as "How many people have you killed?" to tough-looking men or "When are you going to die?" to elderly people. Yoshito Usui died on September 11, 2009 after a fall at Mount Arafune. After Usui died, Futabasha originally planned to end Crayon Shin-chan in November 2009. Upon discovering new manuscripts, Futabasha decided to extend the comic's run until the March 2010.

Shin Chan Nohara (Shinnosuke Nohara) is the main character, a kindergarten-aged boy. He is five and loves chocolate biscuits, especially "Choco Chips" and a TV superhero named "Action Kamen", but he absolutely hates green peppers. Sometimes he changes the words of a song, making it very funny. He often exhibits deep affection for his friend Kazama. Some of his strange activities include dressing up (often as an animal). He causes big trouble for others. There have been several instances in which his foolishness actually solved the problems but these are often immediately followed by antics that negate the goodwill others feel.

Misae Nohara, the mother of Shin Chan is from Kumamoto. She is 29 and a housewife. She will immediately break her husband and son once they are out of sight. She administers brutal physical and verbal punishment to her family members. Her famous and symbolic moves includes "drilling' others head with her fists and a series of punches on the head, creating comically large lumps. While she spends little time on the essential needs of her husband and son, she loves to splurge on Himawari and herself. Most of her luxury purchases, often end up broken or ruined by her children. She loves bargain sales. She is also known to be a terrible driver.

Hiroshi Nohara, the father of Shin Chan is from Akita in Northern Japan. While he is the family bread-winner, he hands the reins of finance over to his wife, who maintains a totalitarian level of control on family spending. He is a 35 year old,Japanese salaryman, working eight-hour days. He and his wife bicker on many different things, from how little he gets for spending money every month, to whose turn it is to give the baby a bath.Misae is also notorious for inflicting violence on Hiroshi whenever she gets very angry.

Himawari Nohara, the youngest child of the Nohara family, born in 1996. A precocious and vibrant infant. While technically newborn, her character has matured and grown more intelligent during her stay in the series. She possess a palpable lust for shiny objects (jewels and precious metals) and brand-name goods, being able to discern a real jewel from a simple piece of imitation (and throwing away the latter). In her family, she is an icon of adoration and annoyance, causing trouble she cannot be blamed for given her infantile innocence. She can be extremely fast crawling, tiring out even Shin-chan, and often uses Shiro as a toy. After becoming big her friends are Nike Chan, Nisu Chan and some more children.

A white, fluffy pup, Shin Chan found in a cardboard box early in the series. While a beloved member of the family, he is the subject of neglect. He is a very intelligent dog and his meals from the Noharas are at best inconsistent, though some times he has to eat Misae's failed culinary experiments. He takes care of his owners diligently. His doghouse also often ends up becoming a place for Shin Chan to hide himself or something he doesn't want his family to find.

Kazama is Shin Chan's perfectly mannered friend, who usually loses his nerves with Shin Chan's antics. Despite Kazama's annoyance, they are actually quite closer than any other friend. A strong evidence is that when Kazama was extremely frustrated and lonely in several episodes, Shinchan was the only one who stayed with him. He participates in extracurricular activities like English Conversation and always seems to know everything about any subject.

Nene Chan is Shin Chan's female classmate and friend. She loves to play 'real omamagoto', or 'real house', in which divorces and arguments are very common and she typically forces/blackmails the boys to play with her. This is always a nuisance to Shin Chan, Bo Chan, and Kazama and a nightmare to Masao as he often needs to be Nene's husband (unsuccessful salaryman) in the plot. She occasionally sees her mother go crazy or do something out of character and literally says "You're not my usual mom". Like her mother, she hits a stuffed bunny to relieve her anger. Alternatively, Nene uses Masao as the lightning rod for her frustration. She considers Ai her rival. It is also hinted that she may have a crush on Shin.

Masao is the funniest and smallest member of Kazukabe Defence Organization. He is known to be a scaredy cat, and a bit of a cry baby. Even though Masao is known to be spineless, there was once when he betrayed Shin Chan over a pack of candies. His nickname is "Onigiri" due to his shaven head's resemblance to a rice ball. His friends use it as a term of endearment, while the people that bully him use it as a put-down. His hobby is to write comics. His father actually owns a supermarket from which all his friends buy material.

Another of Shin-chan's friends, he seems slow and expressionless, but is actually quite smart and has an interest in artistic, adult-oriented things. He loves to collect various kinds of stone and investigating urban legends and various mysterious objects such as UFO's. He often surprises his friends with his insight, though he speaks quite slowly. He always has a trail of mucus running down his nose and can perform various tricks with it.

Ai Chan began appearing on October 12, 1999. She is from a middle class family and happened to be enrolled in to the kindergarten at Kasukabe. She is always seen riding in a black limousine and with a bodyguard. She fell in love with Shin Chan and she uses his weaknesses (Action Mask, Choco Chips) to get him to notice her. Masao likes her very much, but Ai Chan almost never pays attention to him. She is also a fierce rival of Nene but after they grow up they become best friends.

Misae's father. Age 63. He has made appearances in several of Shin-chan's episodes. As a retired teacher, he has much higher standards of public decorum than Hiroshi's father Ginnosuke. This uptight behavior of his sometimes becomes the subject of jokes. Although he is quite stubborn (a trait that passed to his daughters) and conservative, he is actually a caring person. He is also quite childish in some occasions and argue with his wife about very minor things, this often results in him and Ginnosuke "flee" to the Noharas, causing troubles to Misae.

Misae's mother. Age 58. Her appearances in Shin-chan's episodes are usually with her husband. Like her husband, she looks down on the way Hiroshi's father behaves, but she gets along well with Ginnosuke's wife Tsuru. She always fights over little things with her husband Yoshiji.

Misae's older sister. Age 35. She is single, her appearances on the show are rare. It is possible that Misae learned some of her moves from her. She shares some of the same mischievous antics as Shin-chan and Ginnosuke.

Hiroshi's father. Age 65. Like his son and his grandson, he enjoys looking at and flirting with pretty young women. He also likes to do weird things with his grandson and taught him many of his habits. His appearance in the show is relatively common. He is affectionately called Gin Chan. When he visits the Noharas, he always stays for much longer than Misae would like, leading to friction between the two. He greets the family in various strange ways whenever they visit Akita, such as dressing as various movie characters.

Hiroshi's mother. Age 62. Although she seems to be more mature than her husband, she actually exhibits many strange behaviours especially in front of Shin Chan and Himawari.

OSWALD

Oswald was created by Dan Yaccarino.

Oswald's first show was broadcasted on August 20, 2001.

There were a total of 29 episodes of Oswald.

The series is set in a colorful world populated by a cast of anthropomorphic animals, mythological creatures, or humanoid beings resembling plants or vegetables and follows the daily experiences of an anthropomorphic blue octopus named Oswald, accompanied by his beloved pet dachshund (designed as a hot dog) appropriately named Weenie and their life in the cheerful and whimsically-designed community of Big City. Commonly, the program concentrates on Oswald's experiences with friends, acquaintances, and neighbors—including Henry, a talking penguin and Daisy, a humanoid, anthropomorphic daisy, among others—and his patient methods of coping with or tolerating different average situations or dilemmas, along with his thoroughly positive, optimistic outlook on life.

Oswald is a large, round, blue octopus who lives in an apartment complex with Henry the Penguin and several other animals including a turtle named Buster. A very gentle, polite and big-hearted octopus, Oswald is always willing to go out of his way to help his friends. His favorite hobby is playing the piano and singing. Oswald always wears a life preserver when he is around water and loves Swizzleberry Swirl ice cream.

Weenie (sometimes referred to by Oswald as "Weenie-girl" or just "girl") is Oswald's pet; a "wiener-dog", very similar to a Dachshund. Weenie bears a strong resemblance to a hot dog and only communicates in "bark-speak". Weenie accompanies Oswald everywhere he goes, and her favorite food is vanilla dog biscuits.

Oswald's downstairs neighbor and best friend. A persnickety penguin, Henry is a creature of habit in every way and usually shuns the idea of trying different things, though he can sometimes be persuaded otherwise. He does his best to maintain a rigid schedule, which includes taking care of his extensive spoon collection, ending every evening watching "Penguin Patrol", his favorite TV show, and doing the Penguin Polka before bedtime. Most of Henry's favorite foods are fish-flavored and he is a proven expert on snow.

Daisy is a tall orange/yellow/green daisy. Free-spirited and energetic, Daisy participates in sports and other activities. She is a close friend of both Oswald and Henry; the three of them often go on sojourns together. Daisy loves sunflower sundaes, riding her unicycle, has a large leaf collection and loves peppermint tea. Daisy is very excitable, often needing to be hushed by Oswald when she speaks too loudly

Johnny is a laid-back snowman who operates an ice cream shop and also has an ice cream truck. Johnny wears a black hat, sports a carrot nose, and has a deep baritone voice. Johnny Snowman has a brother in the Frozen North named Phil.

They are two identical twin eggs, named Egbert and Leo. Leo always responds in conversations with an enthusiastic "Yes, yes!" while Egbert refers to everyone as "old boy".

Catrina is a baby caterpillar that is just learning how to speak. She is the only child of Madame Butterfly. Like other babies, Catrina is highly curious about everything around her, but is always surrounded by her mom or others to keep her curiosity in check.

Madame Butterfly is the mother of Catrina and the owner and proprieter of the local diner, a favorite lunch stop for Oswald and his friends.

ALADDIN

ALADDIN

Aladdin is an animated television series made by Walt Disney Television.

Aladdin's first show was broadcasted on September 5, 1994.

There were a total of 86 episodes of Aladdin.

Aladdin is an animated television series made by Walt Disney Television which aired from 1994 to 1995, based on the original 1992 feature. It was animated at the Slightly Offbeat Productions Studios in Penrose, Auckland, New Zealand. Coming on the heels of the direct-to-video sequel The Return of Jafar, the series picked up where that installment left off, with Aladdin now living in the palace, engaged to beautiful and spunky Princess Jasmine. "Al" and Jasmine went together into peril among sorcerers, monsters, thieves, and more. Monkey sidekick Abu, the animated Magic Carpet, and the fast-talking, shape-shifting Genie came along to help, as did sassy, complaining parrot Iago, formerly Jafar’s pet but now an antihero. Jafar, having previously been destroyed in the second movie, returns in only one episode which also serves as a crossover with Hercules: The Animated Series.

Aladdin is a fictional character and the protagonist of Disney's 1992 animated feature film Aladdin. When Aladdin is introduced initially, he is 18 years old. He never received a formal education, and has only learned by being on the streets of Agrabah. He steals to survive, making him a sort of Robin Hood-type thief.

Princess Jasmine is a fictional main character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 31st animated feature film Aladdin. Jasmine was based on the character Princess Badroulbadour from the Arabic folk tale "Aladdin". Jasmine is the beautiful and well sought-after Princess of Agrabah who is being forced by an age-old law to marry a prince in time for her sixteenth birthday.

Abu is Aladdin's kleptomaniac monkey partner with a high-pitched voice and can talk a little. Abu is seen accompanying Aladdin during his daily adventures as they try to steal food to live. When Abu and Aladdin finally are about to eat, they see two children looking for food among garbage, and Abu is forced to share his stolen food with them when Aladdin voluntarily does so. After Aladdin gets arrested by Razoul on Jafar's orders, Abu enters the dungeon but is unable to free his friend.

The Genie is a jinn and is never given a proper name in the film "Aladdin". Genie serves as comic relief in each of his appearances. He is shown to have unlimited shapeshifting abilities, which allow for many and varied sight gags. Genie's supernatural abilities permit him to break the fourth wall, as well as parody real-life people.

Iago is a fictional supporting character in the animated Aladdin films and television series produced by The Walt Disney Company. He appeared in the first film as the sidekick to the villian antagonist Jafar. Jafar had picked up Iago in Agrabah's bazaar and reared him as his accomplice in crime. Iago often says how he hates the food which the Sultan always gives him.

Jafar is the main antagonist in Aladdin. In Aladdin, Jafar is the Grand Vizier of Agrabah, the Sultan's most trusted advisor. Jafar secretly plots to possess the Genie's magical oil lamp and wish to be the ruler of Agrabah. Jafar sends Aladdin to retrieve the lamp from the Cave of Wonders. Jafar decides to mind control the Sultan into arranging a marriage between himself and Princess Jasmine.

Magic Carpet replace the Genie of the Ring in the original story. It is an ancient carpet that was found by Aladdin in the Cave of Wonders' treasure room. It is a character without a voice, and expresses itself entirely through pantomime and movements. It is playful, as it reacts with Abu, intelligent, as it beats Genie at chess, and helpful, as it helps Aladdin romance Princess Jasmine. It sometimes uses its tassels as hands and feet to accentuate its feelings.
