Mom charged with murder of 5-year-old son, she beat the child to death because he broke the TV

Kim Crawford, 21, is charged with murdering her son, after 5-year-old Jamar Johnson was discovered to have died from blunt trauma to the chest.

A Bronx mom said she beat her 5-year-old son to death because he broke the television while playing Nintendo Wii, prosecutors said Monday.

Kim Crawford, 21, smacked Jamar Johnson in his back and stomach on June 13 "harder than I've ever hit him," she told cops.

Crawford watched him vomit and complain of agonizing pain for five days as his internal injuries got worse. She never took him to the hospital because she feared getting arrested, she told investigators.

"I was worried they'd see the bruises and I'd get in trouble," she told cops.

Jamar died of an infection to his lacerated pancreas and intestine at Montefiore Medical Center late Friday.

Prosecutors charged Crawford with murder and manslaughter. She was ordered held without bond Monday.

"I can't believe this," Jamar's dad said outside court.

The petite single mom told cops several different stories about how Jamar was injured before finally admitting the truth, prosecutors said.

First, she claimed he simply got sick, went to sleep and never woke up, prosecutors said. She then claimed he fell while playing in the park and injured himself.

After hours of questioning, she finally admitted becoming enraged at Jamar when he told her he broke the television, prosecutors said.

"I hit Jamar twice in the back and twice in the stomach," she told cops.

On Friday night Crawford "held Jamar's hand and it was cold," she told cops. "He wasn't moving."

Crawford's lawyer, Camille Abate, said the mom should not have been charged with murder.

"The facts do not establish at all that this mother tried to kill her child," Abate said. "I have no idea whether hitting someone with their hand causes these kinds of injuries. It's clear that for two days she was worked over by police."

Jamar's heartbroken family called his death "inexcusable."

"Whether or not she did it on purpose doesn't matter, because my beautiful grandson is gone and he's not coming back," said Jamar's grandmother, Betsy Johnson. "It's a tragedy. It's inexcusable."

Crawford has previous arrests for drugs and assault, police sources said, and a long history of domestic incidents with the boy's father.

Police were called for domestic incidents between the pair nine times since 2006, sources said. Crawford had an open warrant for violating probation at the time of her arrest.

In a separate case, a Bronx man was charged Monday with killing his girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter, police said. Edgar Algarin, 26, apparently exploded in anger because Enidaliz Ortiz-Encarnacion wouldn't eat, sources said. He told police he punched the girl in the back, sources said.

The city Medical Examiner's office said the girl was choked and beaten in the upper torso.

Algarin, who has no previous arrest record, was charged with murder and manslaughter. The child was in cardiac arrest when an ambulance arrived at the family's Mott Havenapartment early Saturday. She died a short time later at Lincoln Hospital.

Sources said the girl's mother was away on business and that Algarin may have been angry that he was forced to babysit.

Jermaine Dupri sued by Sarai Jones over child support payments

In March, a judge ordered Dupri, a 38-year-old music producer worth millions, to pay $2,500 a month and an additional $7,500 to Sarai Jones, based on the results of a paternity test, according to the Associated Press, which carried the report.
Dupri and his attorney have not commented. Jones has a 7-month-old daughter.
Dupri is also facing financial troubles, the AP said, adding that his mansion was almost auctioned off after a foreclosure and that the music producer owes the state of Georgia more than $493,000 in back taxes for 2007. Dupri has a daughter, Shaniah Mauldin, with Pam Sweat.
He says in his 2008 memoir "Young, Rich, and Dangerous: The Making of a Music Mogul," that he met Sweat when he was 25 and that she told him of her pregnancy after the two dated for several weeks.
Dupri and Jackson broke up in 2009 after being together for about seven years.

Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted that he fathered a child out-of-wedlock with a member of his household staff, the former California Governor has everyone wondering—how could he keep the child a secret from his wife, kids, and everyone else for over a decade?
“He probably made payments to her in cash, money orders, or he could have had an accountant or a business manager pay her,” Beverly Hills-based divorce attorney Evan T. Sussman told FOX 411. “The money could have come from some account that she didn’t know about. Child support is not income to the person receiving it, and it is not deductible to the person paying it.”

Scaring up the scratch wouldn't have been an issue, Sussman said.
“Arnold has the means to keep a love child a secret because he has the money," Sussman said. "Making a payment to this woman every month for 10 years would not impact his household—it would be like anyone else going out for an ice cream cone.”
Legally, Schwarzenegger didn't have to pay the mother anything if she didn't ask him too.

“The mother would have to bring an action for child support,” explained Sussman. “Generally, child support starts being mulled when you bring an action. Usually it’s an action to establish parental relations. Legally, Arnold is not required to pay child support unless there is an action. He’s only paying the mother of his love child out of moral—not legal—obligation.”
On the conservative side, Sussman believes that Schwarzenegger has already paid the woman a over $2 million in child support.
“For example, if someone makes $3 million a year—the courts won’t really go above $3 million. And let’s say that they see the child only 5 percent of the time. What that person would be responsible for on a monthly basis in child support would be about $18,000, or about $216,000 a year.”
With the news of her husband’s decade-long deceit, Maria Shriver “has been working with a very powerful financial adviser who has been helping her position herself for a divorce,” according to TMZ.
“She’s probably trying to find out what she needs to live on,” said Sussman. “Even though she has the Kennedy name, he probably has a lot more money than she does.”
“There are no winners in this,” said Las Vegas attorney Robert Massi. “But Maria has made her decision, she’s moving on, and the family will go on as well.”
Schwarzenegger’s fortune stands at an estimated $300 million dollars. TMZ reported that he was always “generous” with mother of his child, who they say lives several hours outside of Los Angeles in a four-bedroom house with a pool.

Whats the deal out there at Kennedale High School in the Agg? A female high school coach and teacher turned herself in to Arlington police Monday morning after a warrant was issued for her arrest involving a sex scandal with multiple students.
Investigators say some students allegedly involved with 27-year-old Brittni Colleps had exchanged sexually explicit texts and pictures with her.
Colleps is a first-year teacher of English and girls’ freshman basketball at Kennedale High School, according to her school bio page, which has since disappeared.
The word is that She is accused of having improper relationships with five male Kennedale High School students, who are all 18 years old or older.
Even thought they 18, she is a teacher and it is against the law for teachers to have sex with students, no matter what their ages.
Concerned staff notified police and an investigation started Wednesday.
Students described having sex with Colleps at her Arlington home during April and May of this year.
Now, Colleps is jailed and has a $125,000 dollar bond. She is charged with five felony counts of inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a student.

Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller are now officially divorced after papers were finalized today, marking the end of their three-year marriage.

Brooke has reportedly been granted $55,000 a month in child support on top of a lump sum of $757,698.70 and another $1 million for her share of their marital home, according to TMZ.
Charlie, 45, will keep the family home though and the settlement documents are said to state: ‘Under no circumstances shall the child support paid by Charlie for Bob and Max be less than the child support paid by Charlie to Denise Richards for Sam and Lola.’

A gym teacher in Ohio who allegedly had sex with several high school football players now faces multiple counts of sexual battery. Stacy Schuler, who has been on paid administrative leave since mid-January when the claims first surfaced, was indicted Friday on 16 counts of sexual battery and three misdemeanor counts of offenses involving underage persons,

The 32-year-old is accused of having sexual relations with students on five different occasions in 2010, officials with the Warren County Prosecutor's Office told the newspaper.
Most of the incidents involved members of the Mason High School football team, authorities said.
Schuler turned herself in on Friday and bail was set at $50,000. She has been ordered to stay away from the victims, as well as any other students.

Texas Teacher in Student Sex Scandal Is Pregnant

A 26-year-old former high school science teacher who was arrested for having sex with one of her students is pregnant, amid speculation that her alleged victim may be the father. Jennifer Riojas is out on bond after being arrested on Wednesday for sexual assault against a child under 17. The arrest came nearly a month after she resigned from her job as a science teacher at Carter-Riverside High School in Fort Worth, Texas.

Court documents detail a tawdry affair between student and teacher, with the two even taking to the teenager's hospital bed for sex at one point.

Fort Worth Independent School District spokesman Clint Bond confirmed that Riojas left her classroom on Oct. 19 and resigned two days later. Her resignation letter referenced her pregnancy.
ABC's Dallas affiliate WFAA reported that the paternity for Riojas' baby has not been established, but that the teenager came forward because he was concerned that he might be the father.
According to an affidavit filed in Tarrant County, Riojas's alleged victim told school officials that he was 16 years old when he began a sexual relationship with his teacher.

The affidavit details several alleged encounters between the two, including one instance of sexual intercourse in the teenager's hospital bed in early December 2009 when he was being treated for a sports-related injury.
The teenager, who was in Riojas' first-period class as a sophomore, told authorities that as he and Riojas got to know each other, she would attend his school football games and he would spend his lunch period in her class, according to the affidavit.

"The victim, now 17 years old, stated that defendant drove the victim to different hotels ... at which time the victim and defendant engaged in sexual intercourse," the document continued.
A hotel clerk in nearby Hurst, Texas confirmed to investigators that Riojas rented a room on Dec. 10, 2009 -- with a coupon --and again on Jan. 28, 2010.
Riojas could not immediately be reached for comment.

third-grade wrestler Stevo Poulin won the 2010 Brute National Championship

Stevo Poulin, a third-grade wrestler that has suddenly gone viral on YouTube (see video below) has his sights set on going to Cornell University to wrestle under Coach Rob Koll. Evidently MMA is going to have to wait a bit for Stevo, as he’s a self-proclaimed “great” student with a 96% average. He looks up “a lot” to Kyle Dake on the Cornell Wrestling Team (which is having a great year this year, by the way).

Stevo lives in Schuylerville, N.Y., and in a radio interview with Scott Casber of Takedown Radio, Stevo dished on his impressive record (256-26), his plans for the future (college) and whether he’s more efficient in folkstyle or beach wrestling. Stevo says one thing he’s learned from wrestling is to never quit. He also sees himself as a winner, and seemed a little amused at how the people at school think he’s just a local kid (he’s really an All-Star Wrestling Champion). Stevo won the 2010 Brute National Championship, and looks to be heading that direction for 2011 as well.
I’m happy that Stevo has his sights set on college, but it would be so fun to see him in the octagon. He’s got the right attitude and raw talent, and that leg cradle at 1:51 in the video is SWEET.

Schoolgirl, 17, questioned after 'attempting to poison teachers by lacing staff room kettle'

A teenage girl has been arrested on suspicion of poisoning her teachers by lacing the staff room kettle.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named, was quizzed by detectives after two teachers complained of stomach cramps at the school in Torquay, Devon.

Officers, who had been called to the school for a separate matter, found a 'noxious substance' in the staff room kettle and launched an investigation.

The girl was arrested the following day at home in Cullompton, Devon and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Constable Steve Fleetwood, of Devon and Cornwall police, said: 'The inquiry centres on claims that an allegedly noxious substance may have been put in a kettle which caused two members of staff to fall ill with stomach problems.

'We later arrested a 17-year-old girl on suspicion of poisoning.

'She was questioned in Torquay on Thursday and then released on bail pending further enquiries.'

A spokesman for the school, which has not been identified, said: 'Police were called to one of our services on an unrelated issue and a claim was made by one of our service users.

'Officers are currently making enquiries to establish whether there is any foundation to what they said.

'While investigations are ongoing, there is a limit to what we can say or do, but as soon as that investigation is completed, we will conduct our own enquiries to see whether we need to take any further action ourselves.'

The incident happened on February 17, the spokesman added.

Father charged with murder in boys' deaths

A father stabbed his three young boys and himself multiple times and then tried to blame the crimes on the boyfriend of the children's mother, Gwinnett County police said Saturday.

Two of the boys, 3-year-old Bradley Garcia and 1-year-old Edward Garcia, were found Wednesday evening in the basement apartment of a home near Lawrenceville. Bradley's twin brother, Joshua, remained in critical condition Saturday.

Elvis Noe-Garcia, 23, was arrested Saturday morning and faces two counts of murder and an aggravated assault charge in connection with the violent crimes. Noe-Garcia has been uncooperative with investigators and a first court appearance has not been scheduled, Cpl. Jake Smith with Gwinnett police said Saturday night.

Noe-Garcia's arrest was an odd twist in the aftermath of the crimes, which shocked a quiet neighborhood off Scene Highway.

Noe-Garcia initially told police he and the children had been stabbed by 28-year-old Antonio Cardenas-Rico, the current boyfriend of the boys' mother. On Feb. 2, Noe-Garcia had approached Gwinnett County police and filed a complaint that indicated Cardenas-Rico had threatened his life. Wednesday evening, Noe-Garcia stabbed himself to make himself appear as a victim.

"The whole story involving the involvement of Cardenas-Rico was entirely fabricated," Smith said Saturday.

Early Thursday, investigators located Cardenas-Rico and he was arrested on murder charges. But investigators found holes in Noe-Garcia's account of what happened, Smith said Saturday. After re-creating the crime scene and gathering evidence, police determined Noe-Garcia was responsible for the stabbing.

Murder charges were dropped against Cardenas-Rico, who remained in the Gwinnett County jail without bond Saturday night on a felony drug charge, according to jail records. Now, it is Noe-Garcia that faces murder charges. Both men are believed to be in the country illegally, police said.

On Wednesday, police answered a 911 call around 6:30 p.m. at 1110 Bridle Path Drive in the Huntington Falls subdivision near Lawrenceville and found evidence of a violent crime scene. Two of the boys were dead and the third so badly injured, he had to be flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Noe-Garcia was transported by ambulance to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment, but was being held Saturday night in a medical wing of the jail.

"At this point, the family is concerned about Elvis and making sure he does not harm himself," Christopher Taylor, the attorney for the Garcia family, said in a statement to the AJC late Saturday.

Noe-Garcia and his former girlfriend were fighting over custody of their three sons, according to police reports obtained Friday by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The man, who had not legally established paternity, said he wouldn't return the sons to their mother because of his drug activity concerns involving her and her current boyfriend, Cardenas-Rico, police said.

The boys' mother and Cardenas-Rico were living together at another home in Gwinnett, police said Saturday. It is unclear whether the boys' mother will face any charges.

Following the stabbings, Noe-Garcia ran across the street and, referring to Cardenas-Rico, screamed at his neighbor, "He killed my children!" Suffering from stab wounds himself, Noe-Garcia was transported by ambulance to Gwinnett Medical Center.

The neighbor, Lewon Thomas, said Garcia-Nelasco entered his garage "with a hole in his chest," and talked to a 911 operator on a cellphone.

"He wanted me to go back and see what happened," said Thomas, who went to the house accompanied by another neighbor. "It was horrific."

When reached by phone Saturday, Thomas said he was "shocked" to learn that the man who came to him for help has now been charged with murder.

"Oh wow," he said. "That is so sad."

Thomas added that the news was "just disappointing." He said he never would have guessed that Noe-Garcia was lying to him about what happened.

"There was no indication whatsoever," he said. "That was the farthest thing from my thoughts."

Cardenas-Rico had maintained his innocence since his arrest, his attorney said in a statement Saturday evening.

"While Antonio is elated to be vindicated of these heinous accusations, his thoughts and prayers, along with mine, are with those little boys and their mother," attorney Matthew Crosby said.

Reports are showing that the singer is demanding funds from her former husband for unpaid child support payments.

Filing the paperwork in Manhattan Supreme Court two weeks ago, hopefully Swizzy is coming with a new banger as she is claiming that he already owes her $334,000 in missed payments.

“I so much wanted both of us to get on with our lives and maintain our respect for one another, but he now shows that his priorities and sense of responsibility are screwed up," stated Dean, according to the NY Post.

Bernard Clair, the lawyer for Dean, stated how the payments show his lack of commitment after there were reports of him purchasing a seven-carat engagement ring for Keys and the fact that they are planning a move into a duplex penthouse at $14.5 million.
According to the producer, however, he stated that he agreed to pay Dean more than what was required from the judge and even more than what his lawyer felt he should give.

"I gave over what the judge was recommending to give. I gave her $700,000 up front, because I thought $200,000 wasn't enough for what she wanted to do. I still get spit in my face for it," he said. He suggested that the subsequent payments had been ready to go when he discovered "she'd been selling all my stuff out of my house."

Guys, guys, guys…think about the children. There's nothing worse than a split up, but when the courts get involved, it can only get uglier.

Ohio Gym Teacher Stacy Schuler Had Sex with Football Players

(CBS/AP) Stacy Schuler, a 32-year-old school health and gym teacher in southwest Ohio, has been indicted on charges accusing her of having sex with students, including some football players.

Online court records show Schuler, of Springboro, faces 16 felony counts of sexual battery involving a student and three misdemeanor counts of providing alcohol to someone who is underage.

Schuler has been a teacher and athletic trainer at a high school in Mason since 2000 and has been on paid leave since Jan. 18, the week after an anonymous tip triggered the school's investigation, the newspaper said.

Chief assistant Warren County prosecutor Bruce McGary said investigators believe Schuler had sexual contact with male students five times last year between August and December, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer, which reports some of the students were football players.

Mason principal Mindy McCarty-Stewart did not respond to an Associated Press message seeking comment but told the Enquirer that Schuler had contact with students as an athletic trainer for the high school sports teams.

McGary said none of the alleged incidents occurred on school grounds.

Schuler turned herself in Friday and remained in jail Saturday, and her arraignment is set for this month.

The board of education on Tuesday will act on a recommendation to fire Schuler, Mason superintendent Kevin Bright said.

Schuler earned a bachelor's in education from Wright State University in 2000, according to the newspaper.

12-year-old girl found a naughty adult message

NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. -- A 12-year-old girl says she found a naughty adult message on a piece of kids Valentine's Day candy.

"I thought it was kinda shocking," said Ciara Bush, "I was reading them and I brought it to my mom after I saw it."
Her parents were stunned at what they saw.
"Nice Tits," said Derrick Deanda, reading the message printed on the small piece of candy that referred to a woman's chest.

The candy came from a pack of conversation hearts Deanda said he bought at a discount store in North Highlands.
He said he was shocked when his daughter discovered the naughty message after she opened the bag of candy.
He e-mailed the candy maker and said he got a quick response. A phone call came the next day asking him to mail the candy and the entire bag back to the company so they could investigate.
While he was shocked, Deanda said he doesn’t have any plans to sue. He just wanted to warn other parents.
"I wanted to bring it to everybody's attention," said Deanda, "Watch what you get."
The manager of the store where the candy was bought told KCRA 3 she has not had any other complaints about that candy brand.

Ziggy Marley, 42, the eldest son of revolutionary reggae legend Bob Marley, welcomed a new addition to his family last week.
According to People.com, Ziggy Marley and his wife Orly Agai Marley welcomed a baby boy, Abraham Selassie Robert Nesta Marley, on Jan. 26 in Los Angeles.
This is the third child for the singer-songwriter and Agai, Marley’s manager and wife of more than six years. They also have a 5½-year-old daughter Judah Victoria and a 4-year-old son Gideon Robert Nesta.
Ziggy, whose father was a notorious womanizer, seems to be a good husband and doting dad.
Bob Marley’s website acknowledges 10 other children besides Ziggy. Marley died of cancer in 1981.

DNA confirms that Lil Wayne Is the Father Of a Missouri Woman’s 8 Year Old Boy

In August 2010, Brenda Ann Brown of Columbia, MO filed papers on behalf of her 8-year-old grandchild demanding that Lil Wayne provide a DNA sample to prove whether or not he is the father of her daughter’s child. The mother’s name was not included in the filing.

According to MediaTakeout, the test results have returned and show that the 8-year old boy, named Dwayne Carter after the Young Money rapper, is indeed Lil’ Wayne’s son.
Weezy has four other children by four other women.

Halle Berry’s baby daddy Gabriel Aubry went to court yesterday to file papers for joint custody of their daughter, Nahla. Even though the couple split up on decent terms last spring, it looks like Gabriel just wants to protect his legal rights. He filed a petition for joint physical and legal custody along with child support.
Seriously, what kind of man files for child support??? Oh I forgot, this dude was not the breadwinner in that household.
In papers filed Dec. 30 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Aubry says that he and Berry already had signed documents relating to the paternity of Nahla, whose last name is listed as Aubry.

MTV “Skins” Target of Federal Child Porn Investigation

MTV’s racy teen show “Skins” is the new target of the Parents Television Council due to several references to drugs and alcohol and its sexually charged nature. The PTC sent a letter to the Department of Justice and US Senate and House Judiciary Committees to ask for a federal investigation into potential child pornography violations.

“In addition to the sexual content on the show involving cast members as young as 15, PTC counted 42 depictions and references to drugs and alcohol in the premiere episode,” the group wrote in a letter to the government organizations.
“It is clear that Viacom has knowingly produced material that may well be in violation of [several anti-child pornography laws],” added the PTC, which earlier called the show “the most dangerous program ever for children.”

According to Hollywood Reporter, Viacom already ordered the show’s producers to tone it down, while MTV executives allegedly met to discuss the possible child porn law violation issue earlier this week.

A rep for MTV said in a statement, “Skins is a show that addresses real-world issues confronting teens in a frank way. We review all of our shows and work with all of our producers on an ongoing basis to ensure our shows comply with laws and community standards. We are confident that the episodes of ‘Skins’ will not only comply with all applicable legal requirements, but also with our responsibilities to our viewers.”

Meanwhile, Taco Bell has already pulled the ads from the controversial teen show. A rep stated,“Upon further review, we’ve decided that the show is not a fit for our brand and have moved our advertising to other MTV programming.”

90 Girls Pregnant at Memphis Middle/High School

What in the world is going on at Frayser Middle/High School in Memphis, Tenn.? More girls are carrying babies than backpacks!

There are a reported 90 teens who are pregnant now or who have had a baby this school year. Eleven percent of the school's female population is already in the throes of parenthood.

Now an all-out campaign is being launched to deter teen pregnancy at the school.

Teen pregnancy is a big problem in Memphis and Shelby County, where the population is predominantly black and poor.

Sixteen-year-old Terrika Sutton (pictured above) is one of the Frayser students who became pregnant. Sutton, who has a 2-month-old daughter, says she was in her fifth month when she found out she was expecting a child. The teen mom surprised her parents and classmates alike when she broke the news to them about her situation:

"They were like, 'Terrika, I never knew you would get pregnant,' and I was like well it happened."

The young mother goes onto say, though, that teen pregnancy is nothing to be proud of and that something should be done:

"It's a shame that all these girls at Frayser are pregnant, but it ain't nothing new. They probably planned on what they gonna do to get pregnant. Ain't no telling. They need a class where they can teach girls before they get pregnant to use protection and stuff and so they don't try to get pregnant."

Until now, there has been very little data collected on the number of pregnant students.

Last year, more than 2,100 girls ages 10 to 19 gave birth in Shelby County. Researchers say Shelby County's teen pregnancy rate is 25 percent higher than New Orleans and twice that of Louisville, Ky. Frayser, though, has the highest teen-pregnancy rate in all of Memphis.

A Title 1 school, Frayser receives federal dollars based on the number of students from low-income families who qualify for free or reduced lunch. Nearly 100 percent of the students who attend the school qualify.
Educators and researchers have come up with a new campaign that has been designed to help teens prevent pregnancy called "No Baby!"

Memphis City School officials will set the initiative in motion on Jan. 20. The campaign will be run by Girls Inc., an organization that's been helping girls in Memphis improve their self-esteem for the past several decades.
The "No Baby!" all-out massive effort to stomp out teen pregnancy will hopefully get the message across to teens to say no to having sex and having babies. "No Baby!" will only encourage abstinence and not provide contraceptives but will give teens the proper tools on how to protect themselves should they decide to engage in sexual relations.

The war against teenage pregnancy is also being infused with $250,000 in advertising that will saturate all forms of social media forums such as Twitter and Facebook, as well as using other mediums, such as texts, radio, billboards and television.
The advertising campaign's rollout will begin with Frayser, but it will expand to include other schools in Memphis where the teen pregnancy problem is rampant. In 10 Memphis zip codes, at least 20 percent of teens have a baby, which is more than double the national average.
Teen pregnancy is a serious issue that demands our attention.

Teen parents are almost always unprepared for the challenges of parenthood and often drop out of school, take low-paying jobs and never complete their education. Children born to teen moms are often sicker, poorer and less educated as a group.

The scariest part of all is that they are also the group most likely to become teen parents and repeat the cycle. I don't profess to come up with any one solution to this growing problem, but I believe that morals, contraception, abstinence and keeping idle minds busy with activities after school might be a darn good start.

An unemployed Paris barman was under arrest today after claiming he fathered 55 African babies so as to allow their mothers to move to France on full benefits.
The scam is said to have cost the country more than a million pounds in fraudulent social security payments.
It involved a 54-year-old Frenchman who cannot be named for legal reasons but who has a Sengalese background.

He faces up to 10 years in prison and five figure fines after being charged with making false paternity declarations and aiding and abetting the filing of false administrative documents.
However, he claims that the children are in fact his, and had agreed to DNA tests.
The man’s allegedly extraordinary love life saw him registering the 55 women and their children at his two bedroom flat in a flat near the Gare du Nord Eurostar terminal in Paris.

He is said to have ‘romanced’ some of them after meeting them in bars, discos, and even ‘on the street’ of Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, which gained independence from France and Britain in the early 1960s.

Others met up with the man in Senegal, the former French colony. Some are said to have paid him for his services, while others are said to have had a genuine personal relationship.
‘Some were claiming up to 7,500 euros (£6,200) a month in various social security benefits,’ added a detective close to the case.

‘They were making a fortune, yet their only link to France was claims that they were involved with a man who had at least 55 children.
‘It cost the man around 150 euros (£124) to register each of his partners and their babies, meaning the potential profits were absolutely enormous.
‘There is no evidence that the man was actually living with any of his families. All of this has cost the state well over a million euros.’

All of the documents registering the women and their children were seized by police during a raid on the suspect’s flat on August 31.
Detectives had been tipped off about the fraud as early as December 2009, but were not granted a search warrant until last month when the man was arrested for an unconnected offence.
‘He is currently undergoing DNA tests to see how many of the 55 babies are genuinely his,’ said the police source.

‘It may be that he is the biological father of some or even all. The man has no job at the moment, but has worked in bars in Paris and in Afria.’
The women, aged between 25- and 50-years old, face deportation if they are found guilty of obtaining administrative documents illegally, or abetting a fraudulent declaration of paternity.
Of 17 women tracked down so far, all are claiming that the man was genuinely the father of their children.

The man, who is thought to be a bachelor who has never been married before, is now set to be released on bail.
Strict conditions will include a night time curfew, visiting a police station every day, and not contacting any of his alleged lovers.

Simon Cowell Grants Young Girl's Final Wish

Simon Cowell fulfilled five-year-old Bethany Fenton's final wish before she lost her battle with a brain tumor. She achieved her dream of singing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' for Cowell when she visited the 'Britain's Got Talent' studios in North London ahead of Saturday's finale on June 5 and even met some of the finalists in the competition. Following her exciting day, the young girl told UK's Daily Mail, "I loved them all, especially Kieran, who asked for my wristband to give us both luck ... Simon let me sing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' to him. He's so nice and I love him."

Last year, she was diagnosed with a grade three to four anaplastic astrocytoma brain tumor. A second MRI scan last year revealed the tumor had grown and began seriously affecting her.

The youngster fought the illness for over a year and had been through radiotherapy and chemotherapy. She passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 8, at the Helen House Hospice in Oxford after a sudden deterioration in her condition at home.

Following her death, Cowell's spokesman Max Clifford said, "He is really upset, he said what a beautiful little girl she was. He is just so sad, and sad for the whole family. She was a very special little girl and Simon was so touched when she sang for him. He was happy that he was able to do a special something on Saturday night to give her a few precious moments but it is so sad and his heart goes out to Bethany's mum and dad and he is thinking of them."

A spokesman for the family said the young girl was doing fine on Sunday after singing for Cowell and "was absolutely over the moon with what happened."

"Her dad said that she had done what she always wanted to do, meet Simon Cowell and sing to him. She had achieved her big ambition and was now ready to depart this earth," the spokesman said.

I have always been a Cowell fan but this was the cream of the crop when he did this. Although he does not have any kids he shows me one thing... Not only does he has a heart, but it is a big one!
