Don Whitney Spiritual Disciplines Conference

Don Whitney will be leading a Spiritual Disciplines conference at Henderson Hills this weekend. On Friday night, he will be emphasizing the importance of family worship and giving some pratical tips for encouraging spiritual growth in your families. Please make plans to attend this event. Childcare is available for children birth through 5th grade by contacting the preschool office.

Locker Room Verses

It's almost time for the Locker Room store to open for business. Locker Room books went out this weekend, and the verses are available online. This Sunday your child will have the opportunity to begin saying memory verses to his or her small group leaders and begin accumulating points. Check out the Locker Room page and encourage your child to "lock God's Word in their hearts."

Don't forget this Saturday Night, August 30, is Bring Your Parent to Extreme Night. Parents you'll have a chance to meet your child's small group leader and go to large group worship together. Of course, the popcorn will be popping for the whole family! Join us from 6:45 until 8:00 upstairs in the children's area.

Kid's Kamp - Day 3

We are just wrapping up a wonderful day at camp. We are thankful for 100 degree temps today. Sounds a little crazy, but it felt cooler today!

Connie Goodson lead Bible Study this morning. Some were quoted saying, "She brought the house down!" We had more fun during recreation with a huge water slide going through all kinds of gooooo. It was a blast! Then off to our options.

Many went down the 2000 foot zip line. It's an incredible ride. Others went horseback riding, to the Splatter Barn, or to the swimming hole.

Tonight Micah and the band rocked! We were all worshipping with abandon. Daryl spoke tonight on the church and how important it is in our lives. We were challenged to go home and reach out to our friends and encourage one another.

We had another theme night and then went to celebrate the 5th grade graduation. It's been a great day. Thanks for praying for each of us.

Kid's Kamp - Day 2

Day 2 is history and it was a GREAT one. We had high temperatures and also high expectations for the day. The kid's had a great time in Missions, recreation, and their options. In recreation they had relays through a water obstacle course. Many smiling faces were seen as they all came out of recreation cooled off and ready for the rest of the day.

Micah Kersh and the band did a great job leading us in worship and then Daryl shared what it means to be a Christian. Daryl spoke about being covered in Christ. After the message many children asked Christ to become their Lord and Savior. It was awesome seeing the children praying and speaking to their counselors.

After worship we had a "Black Out" party. Actually, it was a fake theme night. Wendy's birthday was yesterday and we had a surprise party for her. She was TOTALLY surprised! We had cake and a great time celebrating a wonderful lady.

We Made It!

We made it to camp and everything is going great. This afternoon we did these things: lunch, getting settled in our dorms, options, swimming, 6 people were baptized, diner, Daryl Reininger (our camp pastor) spoke during worship, and we had our first theme party The Wonderful World of Disney.

It's hot, but we are drinking lots of water, and thanking God for a very cool spring fed swimming area. Please continue to pray for camp. That the good news would be clearly spoken, the Holy Spirit would work, and that many lives would be changed.
