Catherine Marie Kerkow was born in Coos Bay, a tiny town in Oregon, on October 6th, 1951. She had four younger siblings and was nicknamed Cathy.

She was a track star back in high school and the definition of an all-American girl. Not long after she graduated, she moved to San Diego and landed a job in a massage parlor.

One day in January 1972, a meet-cute happened for Cathy when a handsome Vietnam vet named Willie Roger Holder knocked on her apartment door, looking for her roommate.

Cathy hopped out of the shower, threw on a bathrobe, and rushed to answer the door. She still had soap in her eyes when she found Willie on the doorstep, and Willie was smitten with her.

On their first date, Cathy and Willie made the connection that they had crossed paths as kids back in Coos Bay. Willie's dad was in the Navy and had been stationed there for a brief amount of time, but after encountering an overwhelming amount of discrimination, they moved.

Willie was convinced that because he and Cathy had run into one another when they were younger, it was some kind of a divine sign that they were not only meant to be together, but they were meant to do something important.

To give you a bit of background on Willie, he did four tours in the Army, served in Vietnam before going AWOL, and saw horrific combat while deployed.

Upon being discharged, Willie struggled with trauma from the war, his mental health, and feeling disillusioned by the government. He and Cathy were both rebels looking for a cause and became enthralled with the counterculture movement.

As they fell madly in love with one another, Willie came up with an absolutely insane plan he deemed Operation Sisyphus: steal a plane, swoop in to save Angela Davis, a UCLA professor who had been accused of murder, conspiracy, and kidnapping, and jet off to North Vietnam to let Angela go before running off into the sunset.

After filling Cathy in, she asked Willie, "So what do I wear to a hijacking?"

On June 2nd, 1972, Operation Sisyphus was set into motion when Cathy and Willie boarded Western Airlines Flight 701 in Los Angeles, which was destined for Seattle. They sat down in aisle seats with four rows between them.

Willie passed two notes to a flight attendant and cracked open the briefcase he was carrying, which appeared to contain a bomb, yet nobody knew it was fake.

Upon landing in San Francisco, $500,000 in ransom money was delivered to Willie and Cathy, and they were given a bigger plane to fly overseas with.

So, they allowed half of the people on board to get off and kept the rest as hostages, whom they later released when they stopped in New York to refuel before changing course and flying to Algiers.

As they grew closer to their destination, Willie made a request for asylum and for a Black Panther named Eldridge Cleaver to meet them at the airport. Eldridge fled the United States with a charge of attempted murder and was granted asylum in Algiers.

The government considered their request, but took back the ransom money and returned it to the airline. They then left Willie and Cathy with the Black Panthers, who called them heroes.

Eventually, Willie and Cathy traveled to Paris, and attempts to extradite them failed as they basically became celebrities who garnered letters of support from influential people. In time, Willie and Cathy's love story fell apart.

Willie landed in a psychiatric institute and, after being released, met an older woman who had been divorced six times, whom he went on to marry before returning to the United States in 1985.

He was arrested and given four years in jail, hardly serving half his sentence before getting out. On February 6th, 2012, he passed away from an aneurysm. He was 62.

As for Cathy, she remains at large to this day and has been on the run for more than five decades. The last anyone heard of her, she had infiltrated the elite social circles of Paris, secured some rich boyfriends, and disappeared forever in 1978.

The FBI is still searching for Cathy.

Growing up in a small town can feel stifling, but for one teen, living in a tight-knit community has become an inescapable nightmare, and it's all because of her family.

This 16-year-old girl is an affair baby, and her mom knew she was sleeping with a married man. Her mom and dad carried out an entire affair until her mom got pregnant, and her dad dumped her.

"My mom told his wife, hoping he would come back to her, but he stayed with his wife, and they agreed he and their family would have nothing to do with me," she explained.

Her mom didn't want to move out of their tiny town, so she grew up witnessing her dad's family develop a deep-seated hatred for her, including his kids.

Her dad's youngest child, whom he had with his wife, is several months younger than her. The rest of his kids are 8, 5, and 3 years older than she is.

All of her siblings have gone around saying nasty things with the intention of letting it get back to her. Since they live in such a little town, of course she's heard everything they've had to say.

"School has been awful for me because everyone knows what I am, and my father's children make sure I feel left out because of it. His youngest has even sent friends to mess with me in and out of school," she explained.

"They even got me fired from my first job because my boss didn't want to deal with them coming in and messing stuff up every time I was there."

"I hate my mom for putting me through this, and I am so tired of seeing my father's kids so much when they feel this way about me. But I don't know what I can do about it."

Her dad defends his kids to no end, and even when the school has gotten involved over bullying, her dad bails them out, and nobody gets in trouble.

Her mom is still desperately hoping her dad will come back to her one day, and she thinks that's why her mom isn't trying to help her out at all.

"I need advice because I feel like I have no escape, and I'm struggling because of it. My only family is my mom, and she's useless as a support person," she continued.

"At school, none of the teachers or other adults will do much for me. I get some reassuring words and [am] sent on my way."

Wow, her mom and dad are both making bad choices that negatively impact her, and that's so heartbreaking. I think the only thing she can do is concentrate on getting good grades so she can go to a college far, far away from all of them and finally be free.

Just because you're related to people doesn't make them family, and I hope she can meet better people to support her as she grows up and gets out of there.

In the meantime, maybe she can find another part-time job outside of her town so she can work to save up her money and give herself a safety net.

A woman named Air (@heyitsair on TikTok) went on a first date so uncomfortable that I couldn't help but cringe as she kept piling on the details.

Now, Air met the man on a dating app, and they went on their first date to a brewery back in January. He ordered pretzel bites and proceeded to talk about himself so much that Air could hardly sneak a word in.

So much for using a first date to get to know someone! This guy was so disrespectful that he pretty much ate all of the pretzel bites and only let Air have two off the plate. When he was finished, there were still sides of mustard and nacho cheese left over.

The guy picked up the cup of cheese, and Air had a bad feeling about where he was going with that, so she looked away, hoping he would think twice.

"I could feel him staring at me, so I look back at him, with, like, a blank stare, and he goes like this with the cup of cheese, scoops it out with his finger, and goes, 'Mmmmmm,' while making direct eye contact with me," Air explained in her video as she mimicked the guy sucking cheese off his finger and moaning.

Air couldn't hide the look of disgust as it crossed her face. She wondered why he thought that was acceptable behavior for a first date, and she definitely didn't find it attractive.

Air wishes she ended the date there, but the guy mentioned he got tickets for them to go to a comedy show. Air had never been to one before, and she wanted to go.

On the walk over to the show, the guy pushed Air and yelled that he didn't want her to get hit by a car, in some weird, over-the-top act of heroism. Air was confused, as she could see the car coming.

As they got to the venue, the guy bragged about spending $9 on their tickets and plopped down in the front row, where he tried to get the attention of the people performing. Air's date tried to talk to the performers and make them laugh.

Air had ripped jeans on, and there was a hole in her knee. Her legs were crossed, and this guy reached over, slid his hand into the hole in her jeans, and rubbed her leg.

Air then realized she knew one of the girls there and went over to talk to her when the performance was over. That girl's boyfriend ran the improv comedy show, and Air's date excitedly asked how he could join them.

The girl's boyfriend responded that they didn't have room in the group, so he would have to find another one with an opening. Air felt so embarrassed that she just wanted him to stop speaking.

Air told her date they had to wrap up the evening, as she had work early in the morning. On the walk back to her car, he grabbed her and pulled her in for a kiss. Air was not trying to kiss him, and he told her he had been waiting all night to do that.

As she was driving home, the guy incessantly texted her about how much fun he had and how he couldn't wait to see her again. Air decided to confront him about the whole sucking cheese off his finger thing, and he claimed it was just a joke.

"Well, I wasn't laughing. That was disgusting. Anyways, ended up telling him [I] wasn't interested, not going to happen again, thanks so much for your time," Air continued.

This month, Air was scrolling on the same dating app she met that guy on and was shocked to see him listed as her most compatible match.

"What do you mean most compatible? In what life?" Air asked.

There certainly are many ways to find love out there in the world, but do you think it's creepy for a student to end up marrying their high school teacher?

A woman who goes by @roadkllallig8r on TikTok is talking about how a girl from her high school married their teacher, and there were signs of their inappropriate relationship that other students caught on to.

The teacher in question was the assistant teacher for their sports medicine class, and he was 28 back then. He was always weird with the female students and way too touchy-feely, @roadkllallig8r recalled.

This teacher even acted far too friendly with @roadkllallig8r, but one girl in particular, he was really all over, and all the students picked up on it.

"We noticed she would have her head on his lap or her feet on his lap...you seem like you are close in a way like we don't know about," @roadkllallig8r explained in her video.

"And then one day they were at a game...and there's a shed where the ice was all kept. And one of the girls was going back to fill up the ice because we would give the athletes ice packs a lot, and she went inside the shed and I guess they were kissing in there."

"So, yeah, that escalated quickly, but they were kissing in there apparently. And, so this rumor started going around..."

The girl involved in the inappropriate moment was the daughter of their school's athletic director, who was close to the sports medicine teacher.

The athletic director got angry about the rumor flying around school, because it involved his daughter and his friend. The athletic director did make the sports medicine teacher leave the school and resign.

The athletic director said he had to quit before he got investigated, and this all stayed one big rumor. However, @roadkllallig8r and the rest of her classmates still follow the girl who kissed the teacher on Instagram, and it's obvious they never stopped seeing one another, even after he resigned.

From there, they got married, and they now have a kid. This teacher wasn't even handsome, according to @roadkllallig8r, so she can't understand the appeal.

"I feel for her. That's a strange situation to be in. I wonder if she ever got out of that mindset in high school that...I feel like you're so easily persuaded and influenced in high school, that, like, did you just stay in that mindset and you're still in it?" @roadkllallig8r wondered.

She admits she thinks about this girl every week and is curious if it ever dawned on her that the teacher did something truly wrong.

If you were about to say this is crazy and there's no way this happens that frequently, well, people rushed to the comments section to share their stories about students who were pretty much preyed on in the classroom.

"A lot of my old classmates are now dating teachers. One is currently dating a teacher who was a predator to a lot of guys at my high school. The other is now married to a middle school teacher she had," one person commented.

"Same, except he was our 8th grade English teacher," someone else said.

"Girl, it’s happening in my hometown too. One of them was in a lower class than me, and she started dating our AT LEAST 55-year-old algebra teacher…they even moved to Florida together after his wife caught him cheating. I was also in daycare with this man’s children, and the new girl is younger than his youngest daughter," a third person added.

"Girl!! A shop teacher at my high school married one of his students!! And now they have kids together who attend the same high school, and he’s a coach for the girls softball team," a fourth person weighed in.

Back in March of 1809, Napoleon Bonaparte sent a cryptic letter to one of his generals named Auguste de Marmont. The letter was written in code, except for the very first line, which was penned in French.

It detailed the positions of the allied and French armies through made-up symbols, numbers, and letters in the 24 lines that followed, but for 217 years, nobody could figure out exactly what it said.

Recently, Carter Church, an AI engineer, managed to get ChatGPT to decode it in only six hours. Working with OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra, Carter provided the image of Napoleon's cipher, along with just one prompt.

What's interesting is that Carter said he wasn't even curious about decoding Napoleon's cipher, but then he came across the story of Carter Leffen and how he was able to crack the code on a 1941 German Army Enigma message that had gone unsolved for decades. Carter also relied on GPT-6 Astra to assist him with this, and cracking that message took around 10 hours.

"Astra's multi-modal execution is what's actually impressive in this. The cipher itself isn't difficult, and cryptographers could have cracked this easily given the time/energy. But the work to transcribe, catalog, translate, then crack is involved and multi-disciplinary," Carter wrote on a post shared to X.

"Every field has an unsolved backlog of niche problems that specialists don't have the bandwidth to tackle. The takeaway here is that the people shortening those lists will increasingly be outsiders who were simply curious."

Circling back to the actual contents of Napoleon's letter, the Austrian Empire was already gearing up to go to war with Napoleon, and they invested years into standing up an army to fight against him when the time came.

Napoleon knew this was coming, so he had to contact Marmont, as he had his best soldiers and was over in what is now called Croatia.

From Paris, Napoleon crafted the letter and told Marmont that when he gave him the order to march, he shouldn't let himself "be intimidated by a few troops or a gathering of rabble."

Marmont carried out the orders Napoleon put in the letter, and in the end, Napoleon and Marmont were victorious over Austria, winning the Battle of Wagram.

After the victory was secured, Marmont was promoted to a Marshal of the Empire. Ultimately, Marmont betrayed Napoleon as Allied armies closed in on them in Paris.

Marmont secretly negotiated with the commanders of those armies without Napoleon knowing, and made his 12,000 troops walk right into the middle of the enemy armies to surrender.

With nobody left to support him after more than 15 years in battle, there was no choice but for Napoleon to abdicate his throne. Napoleon had relied on these men to save France and his throne, but they all stabbed him right in the back.

It's sad enough to find out that your spouse is cheating on you, but then uncovering the crazy amount of credit card debt they went into while straying from the marriage just adds insult to injury.

A woman named Lexx, who goes by @no_limit_lexx on TikTok, is opening up about what her cheating husband did to her, and she found out about his infidelity while eight months pregnant with his baby, no less.

Back when Lexx opened up this can of worms, she and her husband were struggling financially. Lexx had lost her job due to how frequently she was getting sick while pregnant, and it impacted her ability to work.

One day, Lexx was on TikTok when she came across these guys on a podcast discussing their foolproof way to figure out if your partner is cheating on you.

Their suggestion was to check Cash App, which is a mobile payment service that allows you to send or receive money from people.

Lexx did just that and came across eight and a half months of money her husband sent to other women. It turns out he was cheating on her with over 100 other girls and had gotten himself into more than $10,000 of credit card debt by sending women money for content.

"If you're ever in a situation like that where your man is cheating on a scale that is so large, please leave the first time," Lexx explained in her video.

"I forgave that man for that situation, moved to another state with him, just for him to keep doing it and not only keep doing it, do it more frequently, and in person, with people."

"He went behind my back and went on a date with another service member [who] was supposedly married at the time. I literally went on base trying to fight her."

Lexx said that her husband's cheating drained her physically and emotionally. It made her feel incredibly self-conscious and bad about herself as well.

Lexx is sharing her story because she hopes that other women in a similar situation will not take their cheating husbands back at all.

Lexx encourages you to leave if this sounds like you. She insists cheating men won't change, but they will change you, and not for the better.

"100 though?? Where’d he find the time?" one person wondered in the comments section.

"My mother left and divorced my dad while pregnant with me. This was in the 60s. He had gotten his baby mama pregnant with their 2nd child. So I have a sibling 30 days younger than me. It drove my mother insane, but she always taught me to never stay after cheating. Leave the first time. And never marry a man [who] has a baby mama because they still sleep with each other," someone else shared.

"Same, he was on Hinge and Tinder. I was high-risk pregnant and hospitalized. Left [him] and even sent him my wedding invitation!!!" a third person exclaimed.

If you caught your spouse cheating and had reason to believe their affair partner's child was theirs, would you set about telling the affair partner's unsuspecting spouse?

This 36-year-old woman has a husband, Pete, the same age as her, and they have two kids. Approximately a year ago, she discovered that Pete was having an affair with his coworker, Mary, who has a husband named Daniel.

So far, she only has evidence of the affair being emotional, not physical, but she is still divorcing Pete over this. A couple of years ago, Pete landed a job at a major tech company, so they relocated to just outside of a city in the Southwest.

None of their family live close to them, and she's a stay-at-home mom who has a part-time job for a bit of extra spending money. Anyway, Mary joined the company at the same time as Pete, and Pete and Mary talk far too much about Mary's marriage issues.

Pete reassured her that Mary was just venting to him, and he felt bad for her. But she's seen the messages between Pete and Mary, and they're so inappropriate.

"Mary has said her husband doesn't always treat her like she's a wife, but his child and she calls Daniel stupid, smelly, fat, bald, and ugly," she explained.

"She has also said she only married him because he was stable, had a nice family with some money, and followed her five-year plan, so she could get what she wanted. The [romance] is ok, 'he's small down there,' her ex Nick was 10 times better."

"They talk all day at work, appropriate stuff at work. I saw his chat when he works from home. I also found a Google Doc my husband had shared with Mary on his personal phone [where] they are writing messages. That's how I found out about most of her marriage issues, complaining about her husband."

She sneaks into Pete's phone and snaps photos of all of this to support the divorce when she's ready to file. Anyway, Mary recently went on maternity leave and won't be back at the office until February.

Mary is pregnant and had complications back in August, and her baby is due this month. Ever since Mary left the office, Pete has been distracted and mercurial.

There are many reasons for her to suspect that Pete and Mary's affair grew physical, and that Mary is actually pregnant with Pete's baby, not Daniel's.

Her husband used to stay late or head to the office early when Mary was there. He also withdrew more cash from the bank around those days, and then there's the secret Google Doc.

"I took my kids to see my parents after they got back from their annual holiday trip. The two weeks line up with [the] time Mary got pregnant," she said.

"She and her husband had 4 or 5 IVF failures, & she got pregnant out of nowhere. Ever since she has been pregnant, my husband has been even more anxious and moody. Also, our security cameras had issues the week I was gone."

"Regardless [of whether] the baby is my husband's or not, I am leaving him. He's cheating emotionally with another woman; I'm done. I need time to get things in order, my valuables out of the house, copy our documents, and understand our finances."

Next year, her youngest child will be in school, which means she can get a full-time job. She made more money than Pete before she quit her career, so she's not worried about being able to support herself and her kids when she finally leaves him.

If she can file for divorce sooner than anticipated, her mom has said she will stay and help with taking care of the kids, so she has options.

"My conflict is feeling bad for Daniel; he has always wanted children. I met him at a drone show the company had for family; he's a super nice guy," she continued.

"Do I tell him now and potentially let him get attached to a baby that might not be his, or do I wait until I'm ready to leave? I'm worried that if I say something now and he files for divorce first, my husband will leave now to be with Mary, and I won't be ready. My first priority is my own children."

I think she should tell Daniel, but there's nothing wrong with waiting to make sure her ducks are in a row, and she and her kids are protected before doing that.

It wouldn't be wise to do something to jeopardize her exit plan.

If your sister-in-law expected you to buy and cook the turkey as well as pay her $120 for your family to attend Thanksgiving at her house, what would you do?

This year, Thanksgiving is happening at this woman's sister-in-law's house now that her mother-in-law won't be hosting. Last Sunday, her sister-in-law group texted everyone in the family to say she expects payment for attendance!

"It’s '$40 a person this year, kids under 10 free, and everybody just bring something to drink!' A minute later I got a separate text from her that just said, 'You’re still on turkey duty, right?' with nothing else after it," she explained.

"I’ve done the turkey every year since my dad passed, on his old smoker. He bought it at a church auction when I was in high school, and it takes up half our garage; my husband has been trying to get rid of it for years."

"I honestly love doing it; it’s the only time all year anybody touches the thing, and a bird big enough for everybody runs about $70 with me out there before the sun comes up, checking on it every hour or so."

She and her husband have a daughter who doesn't qualify as a kid, which means it's going to cost them $120 to attend Thanksgiving at her sister-in-law's house, and they have to bring the turkey on top of it.

Nobody else in the family has been made to cook a single thing, and her husband's brother and his wife are bringing beer as a contribution.

Oh, and then her sister-in-law had the audacity to ask if she can make and bring stuffing for everyone!

"So my plan is to Venmo her what she asked for like everyone else and text her back that since everybody’s paying in now, the turkey can come out of that too and I’ll just bring a drink [as] she said," she continued.

"I typed it out last night and deleted it. They closed on their first house in August, and she’s mentioned more than once how tight money is with the new mortgage, and I don’t want her first year hosting to start with me making it weird over a turkey."

She's left wondering if she would be a jerk to tell her sister-in-law to buy a turkey since she wants money for them to sit at the table with her.

Who charges for Thanksgiving?! It's so insane to me that her sister-in-law expects cash to host the holiday at her house. And her sister-in-law is taking advantage of her for sure, demanding money and thinking she should make a turkey and stuffing.

What is her sister-in-law contributing? Sounds like nothing. If her sister-in-law can't afford to host, then she can invite everyone to bring a dish. But since her sister-in-law is charging, it comes across like she's looking to make a profit off of all of them.

I would rather stay home than spend Thanksgiving with someone like this, and at the very least, she should text her sister-in-law that she can pay to be there, or she can bring the turkey and stuffing, but she can't do both.

If you went on a date with someone who said they were embarrassed to be with you over your body hair and then gave you an ultimatum, would you still want to see them?

Last weekend, this 26-year-old man went on a second date with a girl he thinks is gorgeous. This girl is everything he ever wanted, and he was anxious to go on another date with her, as their first one hadn't been that remarkable.

They went to the beach, and everything went well. He worked up the nerve to ask this girl if he could kiss her, and she declined, stating she didn't feel ready to do that.

He felt let down, and as they made their way back to the car, they made awkward small talk. He then asked if she wanted to go on another date.

She said yes, then started to say something else and stammered but didn't get the words out. Afterward, he sent her a text to say thank you and express his excitement over another date.

"She responded by saying that she really likes me, but that I gave her the ick at the beach and that she felt embarrassed being there with me," he explained.

"Apparently, it was because of how hairy my chest and legs are. She said she found it really unattractive and asked if I could shave or at least trim everything before we hung out again. She emphasized that it was just her personal preference and apologized for how it might make me feel."

"I’m kind of at a loss for words. I know I’m a pretty hairy guy. I’ve always been that way, and I never really thought too much about it. I understand that everyone has preferences when it comes to attraction, but I genuinely never expected my chest and leg hair to be something that would give a girl the ick, especially to the point where she would feel embarrassed to be seen with me."

He feels even more upset because he thought the date was wonderful. He already was humiliated over the kiss, and then to find out that she was grossed out about his body hair on their date makes it worse.

He kind of wants to give in to her ultimatum and shave, because he really likes this girl and can picture being with her. He has shaved his chest in the past, but not his legs, and he's not sure if he would look weird in shorts.

But then, he is also wondering if he is willing to change something about himself only because this girl said it wasn't attractive to her.

"I don’t want to go into another date feeling self-conscious about whether my body looks good enough for her. I’m not against grooming myself differently, and I know body hair is a turnoff for some women," he continued.

"I guess I just never expected to feel this gross about something that has always been a normal part of my body. Am I overthinking this, or is it reasonable to feel pretty hurt by the whole thing?"

I am so upset that she said she felt embarrassed to be with him. How mean! Over body hair, of all things! He deserves to be treated better than this, and he should unquestionably stop talking to her for how she treated him.

If you found out that your spouse went behind your back and paid their ex's rent for two entire years while keeping it a secret from you, what would you do?

This 34-year-old woman has been married to her 37-year-old husband for the last 8 years, and she thought their bond was pretty unshakeable.

They both have jobs, split bills fairly, and have been saving up their money to buy a house. Her husband has a 12-year-old daughter with his ex-wife, and she comes to stay with them every other weekend.

Like a good wife, she's gone out of her way to do anything it takes to make her husband's daughter feel happy and safe while with them.

She also never gave her husband a hard time about his ex-wife, as she knows he has to speak to her about the child they share.

"Two years ago, I found out that my husband was sending his ex-wife $1,050 every month. He explained that she was far behind financially and he didn't want their daughter growing up in an unstable home," she explained.

"I wasn't thrilled that he'd made such a big financial commitment without discussing it with me, but I understood his reasoning and let it go. Not until last week, when everything changed."

"We were planning our tenth anniversary celebration when my husband casually mentioned that he wanted to invite his ex-wife to dinner. I thought he was pulling a prank. When I reminded him that it was our anniversary, he accused me of being insecure and overdramatic, saying he was only trying to make sure his daughter's mother didn't feel excluded."

They spent hours fighting until her husband said he would not invite his ex-wife. She figured that was behind them, but while she was on the laptop she shares with her husband, a message from his ex-wife popped up.

In it, her husband's ex-wife asked if she still didn't know about something before mentioning he should tell the truth prior to their anniversary.

She went straight to her husband, who eventually confessed that his ex-wife had been doing better financially about a year ago. She landed a new job and could pay her rent, but still, he sent her the money.

Her husband said he was worried that his ex-wife would take his daughter and move away if he quit giving her money.

"Then came the part I couldn't ignore. Six months earlier, his ex-wife had asked whether he'd ever consider getting back together with her," she added.

"He claimed he had rejected the idea, but he'd never told me about the conversation. She had also recently asked him to help her buy a house, and he admitted he was considering contributing to the deposit."

"We have been saving for our own house for three years. When I asked whether he intended to use our joint savings, he said he hadn't decided yet and was still thinking. I canceled our anniversary dinner and told him I needed time to think."

Her husband insists that she's retaliating against him for prioritizing his daughter. Her mom believes she should automatically assume that her husband will always put his daughter's needs above her own, because she married a dad.

Her best friend is upset and views her husband as crossing a line by keeping secrets from her. She doesn't suspect her husband of cheating on her with his ex-wife.

She does see that he adores his daughter and is doing anything it takes to protect his relationship with her. However, she's not thrilled with her husband for making decisions that impact their future without taking her into consideration.

"Our anniversary is in four days, and he still wants to celebrate. I'm torn because I love him, but I don't know whether I'm being unreasonable or finally recognizing a problem I've ignored for too long," she continued.

"[Am I overreacting] for reconsidering my marriage over this, or should I accept that helping his ex-wife is simply part of being a good father?"

Her husband's ex texting him while basically making fun of her for not knowing that he's sending money is crazy. Also, it means you're a good dad if you pay child support, but if you take joint money from your wife to help your ex buy a house, and that's the same ex that wants you back? Bad, bad news.

She needs to take all of her money out of their joint bank account ASAP and file for divorce. This is not a case of a dad trying to do right by his daughter.

This looks like her husband is still hung up on his ex. And he's making his ex the priority, not his daughter.

If your spouse permitted you to have an open marriage and sleep with someone else, only to get upset about it later, would you find that fair?

This 28-year-old woman has been with her 36-year-old husband for the last six years, and they have a three-year-old daughter. Their marriage is a happy one, aside from one enormous problem they're having lately.

"He had an injury a couple of years ago that was pretty bad. I took a leave of absence when he got out of the hospital to take care of him until he could move around more and do things for himself," she explained.

"The first year we were fine. After a while, it was more mental issues than anything: depression, anxiety, no [desire for romance]. He wanted to...while actively in the hospital and as soon as he got home."

But after her husband's zest for romance died out, she felt rejected and sad. It consumed her. She missed not only their physical connection, but lying in bed chatting afterward.

She craved affection, and she never made her husband feel bad; they both were quite depressed back then, which played a role in their marriage declining.

Her husband then brought up an open marriage; it was not her idea at all. Looking back, she believes that her husband felt emasculated or something along those lines, which she didn't pick up on.

Her husband was so disinterested in the idea of her sleeping with someone else, and didn't care about their marriage in general.

"I didn’t know how long this would last. I thought we were being mature and we could handle it. Anyway, we were 'open' for a very short amount of time," she added.

"Since he has gone back to work, things are so much better with his mental health. I feel horrible about what happened, and it wasn’t worth it at all. I feel a huge amount of guilt that I don’t know what to do with."

"I realize how insane the decision was. IDK, I guess I’m just asking if there are preventative things I can do for us, like preemptive marriage counseling. I don’t want this to blow up later."

If she tries to speak to her husband about the open marriage timeframe, he tells her to stop and mentions he is not interested in discussing it.

She slept with another guy several times, but her husband isn't privy to the dirty details. When they get into fights, her husband drags up the open marriage, calls her names, and says she betrayed him, even though he asked for it.

By the way, her husband didn't pursue anyone else when they agreed upon the open marriage. She was the only one who found another partner.

"He resents me for obviously it and now hates that it happened. It was horrible. I know we aren’t going to separate or divorce, but I want us to be happy," she continued.

While I don't subscribe to non-monogamy being a solution to fixing marital issues, I feel for her, and I see why they arrived at the conclusion that an open marriage could solve things.

Her husband kept saying it was a green light for this kind of an arrangement, so it's deeply unfair of him to act like she did something wrong.

He's probably just jealous that someone desired her, whereas he couldn't find someone else to hook up with. Couples counseling sounds like a wonderful idea, because pretending the open marriage never happened and refusing to discuss their feelings is not going to make her husband less hurt.

Earlier this week in Jackson, Mississippi, a woman was in town for a work trip when she came across a completely emaciated dog, alone and dying from his condition. She jumped in to help, saving his life, and this dog has since been given the name Brooks.

"Brooks approached an animal lover who was visiting Jackson, Mississippi, briefly for work. He was covered in open wounds. His skin was flaking off of his body," a GoFundMe page created to help the pup explained.

"He was so severely emaciated that his body condition score was just 1, the most extreme level of underweight. It was clear that he had been deprived of food for a very long time. He was swaying on his feet and didn't even have the strength to step up from the street onto the curb."

"And yet, when she called to him, he found the strength to come over. Despite everything he had endured, Brooks was incredibly sweet and friendly. He wasn't aggressive or afraid of people. He was just a dog looking for someone to see him, someone to care, someone to help."

This woman scooped up Brooks and raced him over to an emergency veterinarian, where he was instantly hospitalized. Brooks had his wounds tended to (many had to be sutured), and he was given a specific feeding plan to help him put weight on.

Veterinarians suspect that the wounds covering Brooks came from dog fighting, and they were made worse after Brooks had to lie down in his own filth. Brooks is two years old, and it's heartbreaking that his short life was filled with so much abuse and neglect.

After being discharged from the hospital, Brooks made the drive back to Minnesota, where his rescuer is from. A vet tech has since fallen in love with Brooks and stepped in to foster him.

"Brooks is now in the care of an experienced veterinary professional who understands the complicated, delicate process of getting a dog this sick healthy again," the GoFundMe page added.

"For the first time in who knows how long, maybe ever, Brooks is safe. He is surrounded by people who love him. He is receiving medical care. He is no longer alone. But saving Brooks was only the beginning."

Brooks is facing a pricey journey on his way to recovery. He has to be treated for heartworm, and he likely will need to undergo surgery to fix an injury to his ankle.

He has to put on double his weight and have his horrific wounds treated. Since Brooks is so skinny, he needs to be supervised by a vet as he makes progress.

While Brooks is out of the danger zone, it's going to take a lot of money to get him back to a place where he's thriving, not barely surviving.

"A few days ago, Brooks was emaciated, wounded, neglected, and suffering on the streets of Mississippi. He had every reason to give up, but somehow, he still trusted a stranger enough to walk toward her when she called," the GoFundMe page continued.

"That small act of trust changed everything. Today, Brooks has a name, a safe place to sleep, a skilled caregiver, and a whole community rooting for him."

"He has people who will make sure he gets his medicine, tend to his wounds, celebrate every pound he gains, and remind him every single day that he matters. He is loved. He is safe. He has a future. We cannot undo what Brooks has endured. But we can make sure the rest of his life looks nothing like his past."

It's an impossible situation to be in: unexpectedly getting pregnant, yet having your partner say they don't want to keep the baby at all. What's a girl to do when confronted with something like that?

This 30-year-old woman has a 10-year-old son, and she was with her baby daddy on and off for more than eight years. The father of her son is an amazing parent, and his family adores her. They've honestly become her family as well, and her loved ones, as well as his, live in the exact same city.

"I am now a flight attendant, and I’ve been in a (honestly really great) relationship with someone who I would have considered to be my soulmate," she explained.

They have been dating for the last three years; they work together, and they own a house in Minnesota. Her boyfriend does not have children. Although he wants to be a dad, he has shared with her that he's not ready at all for a journey like that.

"He says he wants to be financially successful before considering having kids and would like for it to be a planned thing," she added.

The problem is that she's 12 weeks pregnant with his baby, and this is a surprise to the two of them. She was taking precautions, but then went on Zepbound and quickly got pregnant.

Her doctor never mentioned to her that Zepbound could make the pill less effective for her, and that's exactly what happened here.

"But anyways, he doesn’t want the baby. And I don’t want [to terminate]. Last year, I went through a traumatizing miscarriage that left me hospitalized from excessive blood loss," she continued.

"But it sounds like this is putting a massive strain on our relationship, and I just feel like I would really like some guidance."

Apparently, her boyfriend has come up with an insane compromise: he's willing to consider keeping the baby only if it's a girl, since he's always wanted a daughter, but if it's a boy, it has to go.

The million dollar question is, what is she more willing to lose? Her relationship, or her baby? Whatever she chooses, she has to be prepared to lose something, or rather, someone.

There's bound to be resentment no matter what option she picks, and at the end of the day, she has to do what she wants to do, not what her boyfriend is pushing for.

He's a real piece of work, by the way, for failing to take steps to prevent getting her pregnant, yet saying he's not down to have a baby.

Also, I find it alarming that now he's interested in keeping a baby girl, because if he can't deal with a kid being the gender he wants now, he's in for a rude wake-up call, as kids definitely deviate from whatever fantasy you have about them as a parent.

As they say, timing is everything. How would you feel if your spouse waited years to confess that they cheated on you just two days before your wedding?

A year ago, this woman's husband revealed to her that he hooked up with someone else literally 24 hours before they said their vows (which happened six years ago).

"When he told me I was only a few days postpartum with our third child, I felt like I had no choice but to forgive him and stay. I won't have the support of my family if I leave," she explained.

"I don't have any true friends who'll support me either. We're from very religious families. My friends are all church-going and devout like my family. They believe infidelity is something you can come back from."

"They shun people who divorce unless your spouse tries to kill you, and even then they can find ways to make you stay legally married but separate."

According to her husband, he didn't go all the way with the other woman, and alcohol played a factor. She doesn't care; she finds him repulsive regardless.

She no longer sleeps in the same bed as her husband, and it makes her skin crawl to have him touch or kiss her. She's done her best throughout the past year to make her marriage work.

However, she cannot forgive her husband for cheating on her, and she doesn't see a path forward here to making it any better with him.

She is totally dependent upon him, as in her religious small town, they make women be stay-at-home moms and won't allow you to have a career.

"I feel like he made a fool out of me, and he didn't speak up before when walking away would have been bad but forgivable to the people around us, and before I was tied to him with three children, [which] means I can never be fully free of him," she continued.

"I just don't know what to do, and I need advice. I have no job. I was homeschooled growing up, so my education might not be completely up to [par], if I'm honest. And I have three young kids to consider who adore their dad and are very happy currently, and that will be thrown in my face."

Wow, my heart goes out to her. She's experiencing religious oppression and a deeply selfish, cheating husband. She really has two options: she can forgive him, or she can get a divorce.

Perhaps she can go to a therapist who isn't affiliated with her church to help her decide what to do, and secure a part-time job so she can have her own money should she pick an escape route.

If you were displaced by a house fire and went to stay with your partner's family, only to have their mom call you a freeloader on day three, how would you feel?

This 19-year-old girl has really had a bad week. While she was at school, her house caught fire because of an electrical problem. Luckily, firefighters were able to save the majority of her house, but her parents' bedroom and her room were also severely damaged in the blaze.

They were able to rescue a bit of their personal belongings that weren't too far gone. Her mom and dad want to have the house fixed up before they return, so they have been living with her aunt in a different city, located an hour and a half away.

It became challenging for her to get to school every day, as her dad had to drop her off before heading to the office. As soon as her boyfriend's dad found out about the house fire, he was worried and offered to let her stay with them until the house is move-in ready.

Her mom and dad said she could take her boyfriend's dad up on his generous offer, but her parents and her boyfriend's parents have not yet met.

She went to stay with her boyfriend three years ago, and his brother moved into their parents' room so she can sleep there. She feels appreciative of all of them for making space for her.

Last night, her boyfriend bought takeout for dinner, and as soon as his mom spotted it, she demanded to know who had paid for the food.

"I told her my boyfriend had ordered it, but she made a comment about how I had only been there for three days and was already getting comfortable spending their money," she explained.

"I was caught off guard because I never asked them to buy me anything. Then she called me a freeloader and said that just because her husband offered me a place to stay didn’t mean I could take advantage of their kindness."

"What hurt was that I never asked to move in. His dad was the one who offered, and my parents only agreed because we thought everyone was okay with it. I also haven’t been here long enough to even settle in properly."

She feels uncomfortable staying with her boyfriend now, and it seems his mom really didn't want her there from the start. Her boyfriend insists she shouldn't feel bad, but she doesn't want to interact with his mom daily after she called her a freeloader.

She's left wondering if she's taking this too personally, or if she should try to have a conversation with his mom.

Well, his mom intentionally tried to make her feel unwelcome, so she should move back to her aunt's house. Also, trying to talk to his mom won't help turn her into less of a jerk, so that would just be a waste of her energy.

If his mom was so upset about her husband being nice, she should have spoken to him about it. That didn't give her boyfriend's mom a right to take it out on her when she's the one going through a tough time.

It's bad enough for someone to cheat on their spouse and leave them for their affair partner, but do you think it makes it all the more insulting when there's an age gap of 38 years involved?

This 53-year-old woman is married but recently separated from her 61-year-old husband after he went on a business trip, met a 23-year-old girl, and decided seven months ago that he was leaving her for the other woman.

"We have two children. Our son is 23, the same age as this woman, and our daughter [is] 15. My daughter, who is equally as devastated about all this, is in my care," she explained.

"It has been ruthless on us all. I've stopped taking care of myself; it feels like. My kids have expressed concern again and again over these few months. I sleep more than ever to escape."

On Tuesday, she ran into her husband and his new girlfriend while at Walmart, and she can't quit replaying the scene. They were holding hands, but her husband never wanted to do that with her throughout the last 10 years.

She feels grossed out. Additionally, she lost over 70% of her hair due to alopecia, and she was wearing wigs all the time until she separated from her husband.

"That makes it even more devastating to me, because there I see my husband, the man I was with and in love with since I was 19, standing there hand in hand with this young girl," she said.

"A child to me. Head full of gorgeous ginger locks. I can't. I'm even in tears picturing it. I'm sick. How could the man I thought I knew so well over all these years pick up with someone the same age as our son???"

"Worse off...he had apparently met her right before she turned 23, and he admitted they [were] texting at night weeks after meeting, but he assured me they were 'friends' or 'colleagues,' whatever he could make up. I screamed. I cried. I think that drove him away to her even more."

She's exceptionally envious of her husband's new girlfriend, and she is struggling with insecurity as well. She just can't get over him leaving her for this girl.

Without her husband in her life, she doesn't know who she is anymore. Every morning when she drops her daughter off at school, her daughter increasingly gives her more meaningful hugs. She believes her daughter can sense how heartbroken she is.

"I was waiting for the day we reconcile, and he sees he's a fool, but the way he was looking with her, I don't think we can. I'm permanently horrified!" she exclaimed.

"The effects seem irreversible. I'm seeking some advice; tough, tender. I need something. I can't ask my parents (deceased); I barely have any friends who have time, and I certainly won't discuss 99% of it with my children. Even my grown son. Thank you."

Well, her husband blew up their life for a fantasy, because what does he have in common with a girl 38 years younger than him? Nothing, and I doubt that relationship will last.

This isn't her fault, though, and she didn't drive her husband into the arms of the other girl at all. She should start seeing a therapist so she can process her overwhelming emotions and get to a place where she's ready to live her best life without her husband.

The entitlement of some people is really out of this world lately, and a woman who sobbed for three hours straight on an international flight after someone refused to switch seats with her is definitely in that category.

Tomiko Harvey is a travel blogger who just went viral after sharing video footage of her horrific experience on a plane, and she was on a 10+ hour flight from Istanbul to D.C. when the unthinkable happened.

Tomiko was flying Turkish Airlines and was traveling after her dad sadly passed away. Tomiko was sitting in the aisle, and this woman wanted her to move so that she would be able to sit next to her husband.

Tomiko declined to switch seats with the woman, causing her to have a meltdown for hours on end.

"She cried for 3 hours. I finally asked her if someone died, because who cries for 3 hours?" Tomika wondered in an Instagram post detailing the incident.

"She said nobody died. She just missed her husband and whose shoulder she would lay her head on. Her husband was two rows up in a middle seat with his headphones on, sleeping in heavenly peace the entire flight."

"She really wanted me in a middle seat for 10 hours so she could lay her head on his shoulder. When we landed, I told her, 'Good job. Look at you surviving without your husband for 10 hours.'"

Tomiko joked that it's probably time for her to reassess her marriage, as she evidently doesn't love her own husband enough after running into this crazy woman.

Tomiko went on to ask if it was mean of her not to want to give up her seat on the plane and pointed out that you can pay for a specific seat or book accommodations at the same time as your spouse to guarantee seats next to one another.

In the comments section on Tomiko's post, people jumped in with opinions.

"That woman's husband was probably super happy to not have to deal with her for the entire flight. She seems exhausting! Who acts like that as a grown adult?!" one person exclaimed.

"If I pay extra to book a seat, I'm not giving it up because someone else wouldn't pay the extra to make sure that they sat together. Do you think that they'll learn for the next time or do the same thing again?" someone else wondered.

If you realized that you were dating someone perfect on paper but you didn't feel in love with them, how long would it take you to end it?

This woman knows she's a monster for what she's about to admit, and she hates herself for it. Three days ago, she was digging around in her bedroom closet, trying to find an extra duffel bag, when she made a surprising discovery.

On the highest shelf, slipped inside a shoe, was a tiny, velvet-covered box. She opened it up, and there it was: the engagement ring her boyfriend's going to propose to her with.

"He didn't just buy a ring; it’s custom, exactly my style, and there was a printed itinerary for a surprise weekend trip to Maine next month," she explained.

"The normal reaction would be happy tears or butterflies, right? Instead, the air literally left my lungs. My hands went numb, and I just felt this crushing, suffocating panic. We’ve been together for five years."

"He is kind, reliable, treats me like gold, and loves me completely. But standing there holding that box, I finally admitted to myself what I’ve been burying for two years: I love him like family, but I am not in love with him. I'm not excited about our future; I’ve just been comfortable and too cowardly to blow up our entire lives."

She feels like throwing up considering how guilty this all makes her. Her boyfriend has been planning on spending the rest of his life with her, but that's not what she wants at all.

She knows she now has to dump him before they go on that vacation in November, but she's struggling with having to break the heart of a man who hasn't done a single thing wrong.

Her poor boyfriend deserves to find a woman who is in love with him and not stringing him along for convenience or comfort. She needs to hurry up and tell him tonight, because it's not fair to keep going like this.

Girly Chew Hossencofft was born in Malaysia and came to the U.S. in the 1990s. While on vacation at SeaWorld, she met a man named Daizien Hossencofft, whom she married a few years later and lived with in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Girly Chew had no way of knowing that the man of her dreams was nothing more than a con artist, though he claimed to be a doctor and was using a fake identity.

Daizien stole over hundreds of thousands of dollars from cancer patients after selling them a fake cure that turned out to be vitamin B-6. He convinced Girly Chew to adopt a boy he claimed was an orphan, but she later found out this was his biological son.

Eventually, Girly Chew caught on to Daizien's lies and knew that he was cheating on her on top of everything. Girly Chew confronted one of his girlfriends, who ended their relationship, and that sent Daizien into a rage.

She later told authorities Daizien choked her and threatened to take her life over that incident. Girly Chew worked at a bank as a teller, and she revealed to her coworkers she was terrified of Daizien. She moved out of the house, filed for divorce, and began taking karate lessons to hopefully protect herself.

While Girly Chew was still married to Daizien, he started a romance in the summer of 1999 with a gorgeous model who evolved into a fashion designer, Linda Henning.

Prosecutors would later allege that Linda and Daizien conspired to kill Girly Chew, and on September 10th, 1999, when Girly Chew failed to show up to her job, her coworkers reported her missing.

Julie McGuire, another woman Daizien was having a romantic relationship with and whom he met on the internet, later said he mentioned that he would make Girly Chew "disappear," and that if someone gets dissected, they can never be found.

When authorities went to Girly Chew's apartment, they found bleach stains on the carpet that tested positive for blood and were linked to Linda and Girly Chew. There were also sand art particles, glitter, and cat hair in Girly Chew's apartment that all came from Linda's house.

Later that day, a state highway employee came across a tarp, a woman's blouse, underwear, and shorts stained with Girly Chew's blood. Duct tape with Girly Chew's hair was found nearby.

During the week of September 12th, Linda talked to her friend and said, "Girly had been kidnapped and killed," but that information was not yet made public.

Court documents state, "the prosecutor alleges that more than one individual reported Henning to have made remarks that she had consumed the flesh of Girly Chew. And, moreover, when Henning addressed the Court at her April 18, 2003 sentencing, she also argued that the State alleged she was a 'cannibal, an alien queen, and a Ninja Assassin warrior.'"

Although Girly Chew's remains were never recovered, in October 2002, Linda was convicted of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and additional felonies.

Linda is currently 73 and has spent the last 24 years behind bars, and now, she's being granted a new trial after a judge determined that she was mentally incompetent during her original trial.

Second Judicial District Judge Cindy Leos referred to Linda's prosecution as an "absolutely overwhelming miscarriage of justice." The judge felt that Linda had suffered from severe delusions that didn't make it possible for her to assist in her own defense.

"How can she rationally assist her attorney, given that she didn’t even think she was involved in the crime?" Judge Leos asked. A hearing has been scheduled for today to see if Linda will be released pending a second trial.

If your spouse became disabled following a vacation accident, and they cried every day in despair, how would you begin to deal with that?

Four years ago, this woman got married to her 28-year-old husband. Four months ago, while they were on vacation, her husband suffered a horrific accident at a pool.

"He broke his neck, resulting in a C3 spinal cord injury. He spent 3 weeks in a coma in the ICU, and I thought my husband was gone," she explained.

"Unfortunately, with the injury he had, doctors told me he'd never be able to move anything below his neck and would have to use a ventilator to breathe."

"After my husband woke up, he cried when he learned he'd never be able to walk again and said he no longer wanted to live like this. I made him a promise that I'd take care of him no matter what, and I've been doing it ever since."

Life has not been easy on them following her husband becoming disabled. They have a 1-year-old toddler, and she's currently seven months pregnant with their second child.

It's exhausting for her to be a mom and a caregiver to her husband. She works 9 to 5 on top of that and has had to ask her sister to come over and help before.

She can no longer complete some of their household chores considering how pregnant she is. Due to her husband's injury, he needs help getting out of bed, showering, eating, and putting clothes on.

"He also has to use catheters and diapers because he can't go to the bathroom and can't control his bladder or bowels. I also get worried at night about him stopping breathing," she added.

"I'm always making sure he's breathing fine with his ventilator. It's just exhausting having to help him with those things; I feel like I'm taking care of a baby adult."

"And to make matters even worse, my husband is constantly crying every day, complaining about how much he hates his life now and that he wishes he was euthanized, but at the same time he wants to see both of our children grow up."

She's not sure how to actually help her husband beyond the daily tasks, as it's not like she can make him walk again or magically heal him on her own.

They also get into fights because her husband will say he dislikes how she does specific things for him. Often, she feels like giving up on her husband, but he is the father of her kids.

Her 1-year-old tells her that he gets sad seeing his dad disabled. As much as she would like to abandon her husband, she can't, and it's tearing her apart.

"I love him, and I made him a promise, but I'm losing hope," she concluded.

She definitely needs more of a support system, whether that's asking her family or her in-laws to pitch in with caring for her toddler or her husband. And if they live too far away, it could make sense to relocate.

She should additionally look into hiring another caregiver to alleviate some of her stress, and get her husband into therapy to help with his negative mindset, because that's making it worse, not better.

This 39-year-old woman says she really is happily married to her husband. They don't have any problems; just busy lives and hectic schedules, which means they rarely spend time with one another.

In February, she ended up having an affair with her 34-year-old male coworker. She says it was strictly physical, and they met up five times to sleep together.

"It was just the thrill and desire to be wanted [that] was the reason I engaged in it. In this time, though, he has ended it twice; we don’t talk for weeks, then he comes back," she explained.

"I fell pregnant in April with his baby, as my husband has had the snip. Then I [terminated the pregnancy] (please don’t judge), but it turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy, and I nearly died in July due to this. My husband thinks it was a burst cyst on my ovaries."

Her affair partner didn't provide her with any support throughout this time, and then she let him weasel his way back into her life.

Lately, he's been quite distant with her, only to admit that he got married on a Saturday, yet they had met up a day before that. He promised he hadn't slept with his wife since before their wedding.

After they spent time together, he abruptly ended their affair and stated that he's going away for work.

"I need advice from the ladies [who] were strong enough to walk away. How did you cope? He left our company in April, so I don’t have to see him ever again, but it’s the wanting and my head hurting from knowing I shouldn’t be doing this or wanting it," she continued.

I feel bad for her husband, and she's deluding herself into thinking she's happily married if she so easily strayed. She's such a mess that she should do her husband a favor and file for divorce while also staying away from her affair partner.

Do you think a married woman wearing makeup to an office where there are men makes it sound like she's doing something wrong? Or is this totally normal?

This 25-year-old woman and her 26-year-old husband share a toddler, and recently she started her very first job in corporate America. She works as an engineer, and this is an enormous milestone for her.

Prior to this job, she and her husband worked in retail, and she didn't wear makeup then while she was at work. At the moment, her husband is a stay-at-home dad and cares for their daughter.

"I’m working to support our family financially while he completes his education. I’m also helping him pay off his debts and helping cover the costs of his education because I want us to build a better future together," she explained.

"The difficult part is that I’m making a lot of sacrifices to make this work. I have to leave my daughter at home while I go to work, which isn’t easy for me emotionally. Our toddler still wakes up multiple times throughout the night, so I’m often exhausted."

"Even then, I wake up in the morning and make breakfast for my husband and daughter before getting ready for work. I’m trying my best to fulfill my responsibilities at home while adjusting to my first professional job and supporting our family financially."

She wears makeup to work because she thinks she looks too tired without it on. It helps her feel presentable in the office, and aside from makeup, she wears her wedding ring and modest outfits.

She is deinitely not trying to look attractive to her male coworkers; she just wants to feel secure about herself while doing her job.

But this is causing a big problem with her husband, who is extremely upset with her for leaving the house with a full face of makeup on.

"My husband believes wearing makeup around other men is unnecessary and wrong, and that he should be the only person who sees me wearing it. I’ve explained my perspective to him multiple times, but I don’t feel like he understands where I’m coming from," she added.

"There’s also some context that might be relevant. I was temporarily assigned to another worksite, where I was hit on multiple times by men. I told my husband about these incidents, and I sometimes wonder whether that contributed to his discomfort."

"He’s also reacted negatively in the past when he saw me fixing my hair before going out. What makes this situation harder is that I’m starting to feel resentful."

She's missing out on time with her daughter, working to support all of them, paying off her husband's debt, and helping him further his education.

She's doing all of this because she adores her husband and daughter, and she would like her husband to be a success in his own right.

She really can't deal with him treating her as if she's doing something wrong over something so trivial like makeup. She wishes her husband would appreciate her hard work instead of making her feel like she's not doing a good enough job.

She doesn't like that she's growing to resent her husband over this, and she's wondering how she can speak to him about her feelings without it turning into a fight.

Her husband is insane for saying it's disrespectful of her to wear makeup to her job. Like, how insecure can he get? The fact that he's not appreciating her and instead trying to make her feel bad over makeup is so wrong on so many levels.

Her husband is using her and is trying to control her on top of it. She should leave him. What good is he doing for her?

If you figured out that your parents were literally stealing your disability checks for years while lying to your face and telling you there was no money, how would you feel?

This 20-year-old woman is a double amputee, and she lost one of her arms and one of her legs when she was an infant, so it wasn't that hard for her to adapt, as she never knew life to be different than that.

However, her disability causes a ton of problems for her to this day and impacts her ability to hold down a job. Right now, she's living at home with her mom, dad, and siblings.

She did spend four semesters living in a college dorm, but she had to drop out this year, as her grades and health were declining. While she was still enrolled in college, she supported herself with the money she saved in high school, along with financial aid.

"My parents did not help much (they bought my groceries twice maybe, visited about once a month, and helped me move in and move out), but I didn't really expect them to help me financially because I know they struggle a bit with money and I had enough resources on campus to take care of myself," she explained.

"When I flunked out, my family was not too happy to have me back. I no longer had a bedroom in their house, so I moved into a corner of my sister's room that is just big enough for my twin mattress and a small dresser."

"I store what I can on my bed and in/on the dresser, and the rest of my belongings are in storage. The house is not wheelchair accessible at all, so that has been in storage as well. It's definitely not ideal, but it could be worse, and I have a place to live."

She does appreciate not having to pay for bills, rent, or the majority of her food, but her family treats her like they hate having her at home. They scream at her on a daily basis for being humiliating, lazy, unemployed, and a disappointment.

They call her names and make cruel comments about her body. Her younger siblings call her selfish and say she's taking advantage of their mom and dad. They tell her to get a job and leave.

"I struggle finding jobs that won't cause me to be in extreme pain every day from being on my feet too much, and most businesses in my area are not very wheelchair accessible, so that would not be an option in most cases," she added.

"I was able to find a part-time job in July, but I had to leave in September because it was too much on my body and my transportation was unreliable."

Several weeks into working her new job, she received a letter from the Social Security office informing her that her disability checks would decrease.

She never even knew she was receiving disability money. She questioned her parents about it years ago, and they said her dad's income was too high for her to qualify.

She brought the letter to her mom, who got mad and said she never lied about the money. Her mom twisted reality and insisted that she told her about the money.

Her mom stated that she will be holding onto the money until she moves into her own apartment, and then she will let her have access to the cash.

"I brought it up again a few days ago and offered to help with bills/groceries or pay rent if I needed to, but I want it switched to my account because I am struggling to find a job and move out," she said.

"I feel frustrated that I have so little control over my life, and this is just another thing added to that list. She just repeated that as long as they are supporting me, I will not see any of that money and refused to talk about it more."

"Am I overreacting for being upset about this and wanting to make it a bigger issue? Should I just let it go and keep the peace so I don't get kicked out? I can't just live here forever, crying myself to sleep every night and not being able to leave because I can't afford to."

She estimated how much money she should have gotten in disability since turning 18, and it's more than $30,000. So while she was living off ramen in college and having a tough time, her parents were stealing her money.

She feels let down and betrayed, especially since her siblings were sharing online about new iPhones, fancy Starbucks drinks, and going out to dinner, which most likely is where her money went.

"I can't stop thinking about everything that could have been different. I could have bought the new wheelchair that I need. I could have already moved out of this awful house," she concluded.

The first thing she should do is talk to someone at Social Security so she can remove her mom and dad from accessing her disability checks. That's her money, not theirs, and they're not entitled to it.

If she doesn't have her own bank account that her parents aren't on, she needs to get one and see if the money can be deposited directly into it.

Her parents definitely committed a crime, and she should talk to a lawyer if she wants to hold them accountable.

If your cousin's spouse kissed you amid a rough patch in their marriage and you thought you were falling for them, would you pursue them?

This 17-year-old girl's cousin is married, yet separated from her 31-year-old husband, Evan, at the moment. Evan cheated on her cousin after she got pregnant with their little girl, who is currently two, and that's the reason why they separated.

Her cousin is more like a big sister to her than anything else. Her cousin is aware that she's been going through a tough time in her life, so her cousin invited her to sleep over for a couple of days to hopefully get rid of all of her stress.

They even organized a Halloween party of sorts and invited some of their family members. Despite being separated, her cousin and Evan are still good friends, so Evan was on the guest list.

"From what my cousin tells me, they even still sleep together sometimes. So he was one of the people who came by for the party, and he stayed the whole weekend with us as well," she explained.

"When it was getting late, most of the family left for the night. My cousin, being a mother of a toddler, tends to sleep early as well. So Evan and I were the only ones left who stayed awake."

Evan asked her to accompany him to the liquor store, and she agreed. This was the first time she had ever been alone with Evan before, and he questioned her about what she likes to drink.

She doesn't drink, so Evan bought her something sweet and strawberry-flavored. One drink later, she was extremely intoxicated.

After driving back to her cousin's house, she and Evan sat there in his car listening to music and drinking. She thought they had a ton in common as they discussed certain lyrics.

Evan then wanted to know if he could give her a hug after she revealed some trauma from her past. He leaned in and rubbed her back as they hugged, which she found comforting. She assumed he was just trying to be like a big brother to her, but nope. Evan had other intentions.

"Evan kept complimenting me: how I've grown into a beautiful young woman, how he's happy to see this side of me, that I'm very mature for my age, and how I've become his favorite person just in one night," she added.

"I repeatedly thanked him and smiled, but I was super drunk and could feel how dizzy I was getting. I legit kept laughing at everything, and I felt so loose. But after he said that, that's when he leaned in and kissed me (it wasn't just a peck, by the way)."

"I reciprocated, but I genuinely regret it. I really wasn't thinking in that moment. It was the mix of all the alcohol, and I guess [the] depressing conversation."

She was wasted and feeling vulnerable. Lately, she's been feeling very lonely, and how Evan treated her made her feel like someone wanted her.

After sobering up, she thinks a friendship with Evan would have been better than making out with him in his car, which she admits was messy of her.

She does believe she's having feelings for him. Evan is incredibly handsome, but she never paid attention to his appearance until this moment, especially because he's her cousin's cheating, lying husband.

"And yes, he's much older than me. I know he's in the wrong for doing what he did. But I don't feel like I hate him or anything. Just confused. And I don't want to hurt my cousin (she'd hate me if I told her)," she continued.

"They live states away; I barely see him even once a year, if at all. So there's no chance anything like that continues...but he's been texting me a lot lately. I'm scared to feel like this. I really need advice on how to ignore him and not let it escalate."

Ugh, Evan is a predator, and she should block him and tell her husband about the kiss. She didn't do anything wrong, and Evan took advantage of her.

Her cousin deserves to know that this is the kind of man she's still married to in case she's considering giving him another chance or anything like that.

It was two decades ago that this man took leave from the military after serving in Iraq. He went to Minneapolis so he could party and have a fun time.

While there, he ended up getting a woman pregnant. They kept in touch through social media following their fling, and she told him she was going to have the baby, then place him up for adoption.

He feels that she made the best choice at the time, as they were too young to be parents. He was 21, and she was 23 back then.

"She didn’t know me well enough to trust me and made the best decision she could at the time. This all happened while I was still on deployment back then; we could only communicate through email. She told me he was a boy but didn’t tell me his name," he explained.

"I have made some attempts to find him, but the nature of the closed adoption makes that legally difficult. I’ve never told a single person. There isn’t a week that goes by that I don’t wonder about him."

"I hope he was with a good family; I hope he’s a good man now. I hope he knows that none of this was his fault and that he was (or would have been) loved."

He is currently married, but not to the mother of his son, who is out there somewhere. He actually tied the knot 14 years ago and went on to have an 11-year-old son with his wife.

"I’m not a good man [for] keeping this secret. It’s incredibly painful to carry, but I’m certainly not in the right here," he concluded.

Well, he can do a DNA test through a company like Ancestry, then set his profile to public so that if his son comes looking for him one day, it will be easier to locate him.

He could also reach out to the mother of his child and see if she has any more information she's willing to give him. I do believe that he's a good dad, and I hope he can connect with his son one day.

All that aside, I do think he should try to tell his wife about this secret that he's keeping or confide in his own parents. It's a heavy burden to carry this around on his own.

This 36-year-old man married his 34-year-old wife four years ago, and they have been together for seven years in total. They have both always held full-time jobs and shared responsibilities for paying their bills.

Lately, his wife has become obsessed with the tradwife lifestyle, and originally, that wasn't something he thought he would have to keep an eye on.

"She started cooking more, baking things from scratch, gardening, keeping the house organized (never ever did that before), and talking about how nice it would be to focus on home life instead of climbing the corporate ladder," he explained.

"I honestly thought it was probably a phase, as I wouldn’t really say she naturally did or enjoyed any of those things for most of the time we were together."

"She’s been promoted 3 times in about 3 years and was making the most money she’s ever made, more than she ever thought she’d make, according to her."

But last week, his wife quit her job out of the blue and didn't bother having a conversation with him before making such a rash decision.

She had mentioned feeling stressed about her job and wanting to focus on matters in their home more, but she never once stated that she was planning on leaving her career behind.

When his wife returned home from work after quitting, she let him know that working isn't for her, because it's just not the life she wants for herself.

Instead, her plan is to remain at home, tend to her garden, cook delicious meals, and be a stay-at-home mom...even though they do not have any kids.

"I think it’ll be extremely difficult for us to maintain our current lifestyle (which isn’t extravagant, but comfortable) on one salary," he added.

"Technically, I can cover all of our bills with my salary, but then that’s it. I will be living paycheck to paycheck and unable to afford anything else, cover any emergencies,nor save anything. This isn’t something I ever agreed to, let alone discussed."

"She says that now that she won’t be working, we’ll be able to save money because she can grow more food, shop around for deals instead of just buying at one store for convenience, cook and meal prep, do more work on our home herself without hiring people."

None of this will save enough money to make up for the salary his wife had, and her income was close to his, so losing that money will cause their household income to drop to half of what it was.

He said to his wife he felt uneasy with her making such an enormous financial decision without even asking him to weigh in. She responded that he should feel happy that she has a desire to care for their house and him.

She also delusionally believes he will have more time to focus on advancing his career since she will be able to deal with everything at home. This isn't even something he is interested in.

"I've wanted children for a while. We've discussed having a baby, and I thought we were generally on the same page about starting a family in the next couple of years," he continued.

"She was really worried about going back to work after having a baby, the cost of daycare, and many other things. I asked her if, with this change, she’d feel ready to start talking seriously about having a baby, since the one good thing about all this is that it’s solved many of those issues."

"She says she has too much to work on and worry about to have a baby, and she isn’t so sure she wants one at all now. Her reasoning is that she wants to enjoy being a homemaker without the added responsibility of raising children."

He reminded his wife that she threw her income away without letting him have any input, and she said her job made her sad and happiness is more important than money, anyway.

His wife has really backed him into a corner, and he's livid with her for doing this. If she was so unhappy, she should have found a different job, but she's not willing to even think of that as an alternative option.

His wife maintains that she wants a traditional kind of marriage, but they can't agree on what that truly means. He's left wondering how he can move on after his wife made a life-changing decision without consulting him first.

I consider this divorce-worthy, and he absolutely should not have a baby with his wife. Being someone's spouse means making joint decisions on life-changing topics, not selfishly moving ahead with what you want to do while dragging the other person along for the ride.

For the last couple of years, this 28-year-old woman has worked pretty closely with her boss, a 41-year-old man. Although he's in a leadership position, they pretty much have the exact same role, and he acts like he isn't superior to her.

They frequently have to travel together for work, and she has considered him like a friend to her all along, as he's genuinely a wonderful guy.

"I could always tell he was attracted to me, but he was never weird about it. A few months ago we got in this awful car wreck on the highway," she explained.

"We didn’t have major injuries. I had bruises, cuts, and bruised ribs; that was the worst. He hit his head but didn’t have a head injury; he had cuts and stuff too."

She was traumatized by the crash and didn't feel like herself in the weeks that followed. It made her boss feel extremely guilty, and somehow, the accident ended up bringing them closer together.

It might have been the shared misfortune, but they began spending more and more time with one another. They also became reciprocal sources of emotional support.

"It just went from being friendly coworkers to real friends. I didn’t think it would be like this, though. He admitted he had feelings for me last week, tried to get handsy...and said a lot of things," she added.

"I rejected that, reminded him of my relationship status (and his, BTW), and have been trying to figure this out since. I have really just been frozen by indecision and fear."

"I know I should have told my husband (34m), but since I didn’t, I feel like I can never tell him now because I have waited too long. And he is going to absolutely lose it. He won’t let me go back there. I rejected him, and he accepted the rejection, but nothing else has really changed."

She is aware that her boss still has feelings for her, and he constantly texts her. She does still think of him as a great guy, and that's why she doesn't want to wreck his life or anything like that.

She's worried that they can never resume a normal relationship after everything that's gone down. She's also concerned about her marriage.

Her husband is lovely, and she would hate for him to worry. She's been so upset and anxious about her bond with her boss.

I don't see any reason to be stressed, unless she's been willingly participating in an emotional affair and the guilt is consuming her.

If she were loyal to her husband, she would have shut her boss down more firmly and disclosed his behavior to her husband immediately.

Also, she wouldn't have kept on incessantly texting her boss or sharing close moments with him if she didn't want something to occur.

Nearly four years ago, this 31-year-old woman married her 35-year-old husband, and she's always reassured herself that his personality traits just mean he's insecure and protective.

What I mean by this is that her husband enjoys knowing where she is, who she is with, and what time he can expect her back home. Should she not arrive on time, he calls her nonstop until she picks up.

While this all irritated her, she didn't think it was an enormous issue. However, throughout the past year, her husband's behavior has grown worrisome.

He would get upset if she made plans to do something without him. For example, if she agreed to grab lunch with her sister, her husband would try to make her invite her sister over to their house, not go out to a restaurant.

"If coworkers invited me somewhere after work, he’d say married women shouldn’t be hanging around single people at night. Last Friday, some people from my office organized dinner because one of our coworkers was leaving the company," she explained.

"I told my husband about it several days beforehand. He wasn’t happy, but he didn’t explicitly tell me not to go. During dinner, he texted me constantly, asking when I was leaving. I replied a few times and eventually stopped checking my phone because it was getting embarrassing."

She returned from dinner at 10:30 that evening, and her husband refused to speak to her. The following morning, she went out grocery shopping and was shocked when her card got declined at the register, as it was attached to a joint bank account that had plenty of money in it.

She logged into her banking app to see what was up and noticed that her husband had taken all of the money out of the account and transferred it to one that only he can control.

"When I confronted him, he said he was 'protecting our money' because apparently I’m starting to behave like a single woman. That scared me more than the argument itself," she added.

"I asked him to transfer the money back. He refused and told me that once I started 'respecting the marriage again,' we could discuss it."

"I reminded him that my salary goes into that account too. He basically said that because he earns more, he should have the final say over our finances. Something just clicked."

It dawned on her that this was about far more than the dinner. Her husband has been snooping through her phone, getting mad at her outfits or specific friends, demanding she turn her location on, and questioning her about every single thing she's bought recently.

So, she packed a bag and went to her sister's house. Her husband has been incessantly calling her after she left, accusing her of wrecking their marriage and running away.

Her husband has never done anything so concerning, especially with money, so she feels guilty for getting out of there. But if she goes back home and acts like what her husband did is normal, she's not sure what he's capable of doing the next time he becomes mad about something.

"I don’t even know whether I’m asking how to fix the marriage anymore. I think I’m asking whether I’ve been minimizing controlling behavior for years," she continued.

I'm scared for her. It is beyond horrifying that her husband took away her access to money over going to dinner with her coworkers. She should stay at her sister's house and file for divorce because she's right; what will he do the next time he's angry? I wouldn't want to stick around and find out.

Also, it is abusive to take away your spouse's access to their own money; there's no way around that. She should go straight to a lawyer and not try to tip her husband off to leaving the marriage.

If your spouse cheated on you with your best friend, then had the audacity to cry like a baby after you served them with divorce papers, how would you feel?

Three years ago, this woman married her husband, and sadly, she discovered five months ago that he was having an affair with one of her best friends, leaving her heartbroken.

Being betrayed by two of the most important people in her life has nearly destroyed her sanity. She was having brunch with her best friend, who was showing her a photo on her phone that day.

Suddenly, her husband's name appeared at the top of her bestie's device, and she demanded to know why he was sending her texts, as that was too bizarre.

Her best friend stumbled over her words before confessing to sleeping with him!

Next, she called her husband out, who proceeded to deny the affair before confessing and insisting her best friend was the one who put the moves on him. The affair lasted for nine entire months and kicked off just months after she gave birth to a baby girl.

"I'm dealing with a recovering body, a tiny crying baby girl, a traitor husband, and a two-faced friend. I decided to file for divorce," she explained.

"When he was served, he was a mess. According to his mother, he would spend all day crying. He'd send me flowers, write letters, and send texts apologizing and begging for a second chance, but I'm still going through with it."

"The big issue that I have is that he's trying to convince my family to let me drop the divorce, and they're taking his side. My mom, in particular, and my sister. They said that I should forgive my STB ex because it was a mistake, and that my daughter needs both parents living together lovingly because dysfunctional families are a no-no."

She told her mom she was being mean for trying to get her to back out of the divorce. Her mom argued with her, which really left her jaw on the floor.

She has since moved out of her house with her baby and into an apartment. Her cousin and a couple of her friends have dropped by to see her in her new place.

Her mom is beside herself, but she doesn't care about her mom's feelings. It's so hurtful to her that her mom is on her husband's side, and his mom is on her side.

"I just want this to end. I have a child to raise, and I want out of this nightmare. Has anyone ever [gone] through this before? How did you handle it? First my friend, then my husband, now my mom and sister," she concluded.

I'm sorry, but cheating is a choice; it's not a mistake someone makes, especially for nine months. It's unfortunate that her own mom won't support her, but she's doing the right thing by ditching her husband.

The good news is she doesn't need her mom's permission to move on with her life, so she shouldn't let any of that hold her back.

They elect a leader and work together to survive. But the longer they are exposed to the dangers of the wilderness, they slowly start to lose their civility, and chaos reigns.

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
