If you spend time and money to plant fruit trees, you need to make sure they're protected from wildlife. When young, trees are vulnerable. In this video, I discuss the steps I take to protect them from mice, voles, rabbits, deer, cattle and goats. On part of my property, I have cattle and goats. On that parcel, I use t-posts to secure the fencing. I used a combination of woven wire and concrete remesh, because I had them leftover from planting last year. I prefer remesh due to it's rigidity, but either will work with proper staking. You could also use rebar (or tobacco sticks) for staking remesh (if cattle are present I use t-posts though).

This video is a follow-up to the rabbit hunt I posted a few days ago. My daughter, Annie, helped me process and prepare rabbit in an easy, delicious recipe: fried rabbit topped with a sweet-heat mustard! This video shows my daughter and I processing the bunny, frying or browning it lightly in oil, preparing a sauce, and then tasting it! This is a delicious, easy way to prepare rabbit and wild game!

Ingredients:

4 eggs - slightly beaten
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)

Dad's First Hunt Battling Cancer! DOE KILL!!!

Join me on an exciting hunt with my dad! He was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in September. On top of that, he had heart surgery last year. This was his first hunt in 2 years!!! His treatment has been going great though (other than the side effects)!

In this video, he's got an itchy trigger finger and I aim to fill my freezer after donating my last 3 harvests. SUCCESS!!! This is an awesome buck taken during the 2018 Kentucky rifle season (rut)! I show several years of trail camera footage of this buck to display his growth from young buck into a mature buck! I've seen him many times over the last 2 years while hunting too! I hunt wild, free range bucks and it's been hard tough (but fun) hunting! However, the hard work has paid off with this buck!
If you're new here, it's been a wild ride this year! From developing a habitat management plan, cutting trees, planting trees, and building shooting houses. My spirits were high riding into the year knowing I passed several bucks last year that would be great this year if they made it!

Right when the season set out, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. It took the wind out of my sails that first month, so I didn't hunt. His treatment has been going great though (other than the side effects)! It encouraged me to get back in the stand! I took a doe early on and saw several deer throughout the season. I ended up shooting this buck the first weekend of gun/rifle season in Kentucky. He's a buck I have a long history with and one I'm proud to take!

It's been an exciting, hard, and fun journey this year! I'm glad to have you join me on it! Stay tuned! There will be more harvests and kills on film, more trail cam footage, and I'll have some more updates soon!

Review:

I have several flashlights like this, because they are so durable and bright! I picked this one up to carry with me in the truck. I like to use them to check on livestock or to get a project completed. It has 4 modes. Frankly, I don't need the SOS or strobe feature common with these lights. I rarely even use the lower settings. With that said, this flashlight is much, much easier to switch between modes confidently. A short tap of the button and you're done. Others I have you have to press the button just right (not too short and not too long of a tap).

Also, this comes with a 26650 battery! That's somewhat rare when I went searching for flashlights on Amazon. It's one less thing to worry about purchasing. I don't need a special 26650 battery charger either. I just plug the usb into the outlet and the Micro USB into the flashlight. All-in-all, I am VERY pleased with this flashlight! Check it out! Fried Largemouth Bass Recipe & Crispy Homemade Seasoned Fries

I prepare & cook, or deep fry, largemouth bass and bluegill using an easy-to-make batter with homemade fries that are golden brown and crispy! The next time you're fishing, put them on a stringer instead of throwing them back! Bass are just as tasty as bluegill or catfish! Keeping them may also be beneficial to the overall health of the population in your pond or lake!
DEEP FRIED FISH RECIPE: Batter Mix: 1 cup Corn Meal 1 cup Flour 3 teaspoons Paprika 2 teaspoons Black Pepper 2 teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning 3/4 teaspoon Garlic Power Dip fish filet in flour and coat evenly. Next dip in mixture of 4 Eggs & 1/4 cup Milk (combined). Finally, coat bass/bluegill fish filet in batter mix above. Place fish in peanut oil that is between 350-375 Fahrenheit (F). Remove when fish are floating in oil (2-3 minutes). HOMEMADE FRIES THAT ARE CRISPY & GOLDEN BROWN: Cut 3 or 4 russet potatoes into 1/3 inch slices (I used 3 in the video for reference). Submerge them in water from 20 minutes to 24 hours to remove excess starch. Fry at 325-350 (F) for 5-7 minutes. Remove and let sit or 2 minutes. Bring oil up to 375 (F). Place fries in oil for 2 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Overall, I am very pleased with this sous vide cooker! I read through the instructions, but it's intuitive enough to understand if you choose not to. The unit operates like it should and I'm happy with the food it cooks!
