So this is Chloroville’s 100th strip. To other webcomic artists who post daily, this indicates that a third of the year has passed. But to me, nearly four years have already passed. (Chloroville started in 2008 with a weekly update schedule, but this year I’ve only put out 3 strips.) On one hand, I am not happy with my lack of dedication to this website, but on the other, I am grateful that there are people who really like my creation. I will try to update it more often, but I know there is one huge road block – I have to focus on improving my work portfolio so that I can work for a more renowned video game studio as a decent 3D artist. This is a personal goal, I want to see my name in the end-game credit list of a big-budget game.

You may wonder what will happen to the folks in comic strip #98 and #99. Trust me, I have everything planned, and #100 is part of the story arc. Now I just need to drag lazy ass to the drawing board and finish the story.

Readers will find this strip look “different” from the previous ones. I have been using Illustrator to make Chloroville, but this time I am using Photoshop.

By the way, the teacher in this strip is supposed to be a “fiddlehead”. They are available at my local supermarket seasonally, and I have tried them once. They surely look cute, and they taste like… veggies :) Probably because I don’t know how to cook them well. I could only think of frying them in butter.

Without any updates for three months? Even I admit it’s dead.

To create a new Chloroville strip, there are a few criteria to meet:

  • I don’t reach home from work everyday with an empty brain.
  • I don’t have any freelance work to do during weekends.
  • I am not making any hard decision like if I should switch job or  kill my coworker who is a 100% certified a-hole.
  • I am not moving to a new home soon.
  • I am not having panic attacks which cause me to wake up in the middle of the night.

Hopefully, I will have none of these problems soon.
