Andhra Pradesh: ‘Community Health Officers, ANMs play key role in reaching healthcare services to public’

Health and Family Welfare Department Commissioner J. Nivas says every health clinic in Andhra Pradesh has been staffed with one CHO and one ANM

Health and Family Welfare Department Commissioner J. Nivas said the Community Health Officers(CHOs) (Mid-Level Health Providers) and ANMs are responsible for providing all the healthcare facilities being offered by the State government to the public in their respective Dr. YSR Village Health Clinics.In a release on Tuesday, Mr. Nivas said that the department has appointed CHOs as the heads of the village clinics spread across the State and it is their responsibility to reach out to the public and provide necessary services with the help of ANMs.He said every health clinic in the State has been staffed with one CHO and one ANM and specific job charts are defined for the posts.

He said all the District Medical and Health Officers were instructed to ensure that Medical Officers of all the Primary Health Care centres implement the orders.

He said CHOs and ANMs should attend Village Organisation Meetings and discuss health programmes being provided in their villages.

CHOs should also sensitise people about non-communicable diseases, and prevention measures and encourage people to get tested, he said.

Mr. Nivas said that CHOs should focus on anaemia cases in general, and on prevention of early marriages, child marriages and teenage pregnancies in the community.

ఈ నెల 1 నుండి 30 వ తేది వరకు నిర్వహిస్తున్న “జాతీయ పోషకాహార మాసోత్సవాలలో భాగంగా తాడిపత్రి మండలం లోని వెంకటాం పల్లి, తిమ్మేపల్లి గ్రామం లోని గర్బిణీ స్త్రీలకు మరియు పాలిచ్చు తల్లులకు స్థానిక అంగన్వాడి కేంద్రం నందు పోషకాహారం,వ్యాధి నిరోధక టీకాల కార్యక్రమం పైన మహిళలకు ఆరోగ్య అవగాహన కార్య క్రమం నిర్వహించారు. ప్రతి తల్లి కాన్పు అయున ఒక గంట తరవాత శిశువుకు తల్లి పాలను ఇవ్వాలని తెలియచేసారు. తల్లి పాల వలన పిల్లలకు ఏడాది పాటు వ్యాధి నిరోధక శక్తి వృద్ధి చెందు తుందని తెలిపారు.పుట్టినప్పటి నుండి శిశువుకు అందించవలిసిన వ్యాధి నిరోధక టీకాలు తల్లులు క్రమం తప్పకుండా ఇప్పించాలని కోరారు. శిశువు 6 నెలల తరువాత తల్లి పాలతో పాటుగా అదనపు పోషకాహారము ఇస్తూ శిశువుకు ఎటువంటి అనారోగ్య సమస్యలు తలెత్త కుండా తగు జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకొంటే పిల్లలు శారీరకంగా,మానసికంగా దృడంగా పెరుగుతారని తెలియ చేసారు.

Despite many preventive measures, malaria still remains a leading cause of mortality world wide. Malaria mosquito generally thrives in the areas with a lot of moisture and humidity.Malaria being a mosquito-borne disease, is transmitted by the bite of female Anopheles mosquito which is a parasite, like all mosquitoes.We bring you the lesser known details about this disease on World Malaria Day:Malaria has killed four popes and at least eight US presidents suffered from it. Some of the prominent personalities inflicted by the disease were George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy and it also led to the deaths of Pope Leo and Pope Sixtus.Thousands die every year from taking mock-up anti-malaria drugs. The World Health Organisation has estimated that around 20 per cent of the one million deaths caused by malaria annually can be blamed on counterfeit drugsOnly the female mosquitoes transmit the disease, sucking the blood and rendering the deadly disease.It can take several years to develop malaria symptoms. In exceptionally rare cases, malaria sufferers have fallen ill four years after being infected.Common side effects of malaria are high fever, chills, headaches, and other flu-like symptoms. Severe illness and death can normally be avoided if the disease is properly treated.The world's first vaccine against malaria will be introduced in three countries - Ghana, Kenya and Malawi in 2018.According to reports, beer consumption increases the susceptibility to the dreaded disease which is malaria.Back in 1943 Disney Productions was the first to feature an animated documentary with The Seven Dwarves to create awareness about the menace of mosquito-borne malaria and the necessary precautions to control it. తాడిపత్రి పట్టణము సంజీవ నగర్ నందు జన్మ భూమి కార్య క్రమములో వైద్య మరియు ఆరోగ్య శాఖ చేపట్టిన నూతన కార్య క్రమముల గురించి వివరించడము జరిగినది.మున్సిపల్ చైర్ పర్సన్ శ్రీమతి బి.వెంకట లక్ష్మీ గారు,మున్సిపల్ కమీషనర్ S. శివ రామ క్రిష్ణ గారు ఆనంతపురం రెవిన్యూ డివిజన్ RDO శ్రీ మలోలా గారు పాల్గొన్నారు.
